We come here for our fish take needs. My daughter got a fishtank from her grandparents along with a few fish. So we come in for fish food and occasionally a fish. The staff is usually super friendly and helpful. They also ask questions about your set up which is kind as they are looking out for the well-being of their fish they are selling you. They offer so many different items for different pets that people have. They also offer grooming and training services but I haven't used either of them in the past. The parking lot is a bit undersized for all of the offered shops in the strip mall. But I have not had too big of an issue finding parking most of the time. However getting out of the parking lot onto route 30 (Lancaster Ave) can be a pain if you're trying to pull out across traffic. read more

They always have what I need and if it says it's there online, it's there! They also give you the price of online items if they are different from the store. Marlina is the best groomer !!!! She does beyond amazing work and is Extremely experienced. Some days I don't always have time to properly groom my dog and because of the type of coat my poodle has; if you let it go, it can get out of hand. She's doesn't pass judgement and literally makes my dog look like a show dog. Just wow I've been to other places before to get Zoe groomed but after the first visit with Marlina I told her she is now my dogs god mom because she always makes my dog look beautiful. I refuse to take my dog anywhere and to anyone else. This is an amazing store with a great variety of stuff for your pet. One thing I especially like is the size of the store, which results in a great variety of items. The store is double the size of PetValu and also has a large grooming station. They have training books for sale as well as treats and toys for your pets. They have a lot of live animals as well including hamsters, mice, chinchillas, birds, fish, geckos, snakes, turtles and ferrets. My grandson always begs me for a pet when we come in. The staff here is great. They are very friendly and polite. They are always checking up on the live animals for sale and making sure they are Ok. One staff member even took one of the small snakes out of his cage and let some customers see it. The store is very clean unlike what was stated in prior reviews. They have the store being organized and cleaned constantly by a staff member. It is also very easy to find everything. Will definitely return! read more

This is my favorite pet food store in the area! It carries only healthy pet food options for any of your pet needs! I especially hunt for the Weruva cat food brand since my three cats really enjoy their food and I'm only able to find it here in a great variety of sizes and flavors. I visited this pet store on my lunch break to check out some gold fish and I fell in love with the glow in the dark (electric fish) LED lighting tank. Upon getting home I remembered I forgot to ask the pricing on them. I called the store and was redirected to customer service. A guy named Chris answered the phone and was very short, condescending and grumpy ( like he was the fish troll) . He acted like I was disturbing him when I was merely trying to make a purchase. The groomer Synobia took excellent care of my older Puggle dog with patience, as puggles are a notorious breed which hate getting their nails cut and grinded. My dog is older and I appreciated her petting my dog to calm her down. Synobia did not rush at all. She took her time and did an excellent job. She even told me how my dog did temperament wise after it was all done. Bring your dog to Synobia. The store itself is filthy and has been for over one year. The front in particular is a mess. This is why I leave three stars. I only come here because my dogs are elderly and cannot make long car rides. There is physical dirt and grime on the floor. Get a swiffer and a vacuum! I know it's a pet store but your competitor Pet Value has zero problems keeping the place clean. Clean your store and you will get more clients. It's called bleach. read more

It's hit or miss here. Sometimes the employees are really friendly, sometimes they're not very nice. I come here because the store is large which usually means they will have what I'm looking for. Plus, they're dog friendly... Imagine that, a pet friendly pet store... Surprisingly rare... Review for grooming: I took my senior dog here for grooming. He's probably a more difficult dog to groom because he doesn't like it and will cry the whole time. FYI: we have taken him to a groomer since he was a puppy and never had a problem. The groomer called and said he has bad dry/scalp skin to the point when she razored his hair it got stuck on the blade so she felt unsafe to continue with the groom. At pick up, she stated he was snappy and told us not to come back. We were worried and took him to the vet. Yes, he did have dried skin and it was flakey but not to the point where the scalp on the skin can get stuck to the razor. She basically lie because she probably didn't want to deal with him. So we left the place with our dog hair half cut. Anyways, we will gladly take our dog to a different groomer who is more professional, patience and understanding. read more

I have been shopping at this Petco for a few years now and I've just recently began taking my Shorkie to get groomed at this location. I haven't had any issues and Amanda is the only groomer I'll allow to groom my Coco. She always takes good care of my puppy and my puppy gets excited when she sees Amanda. I've read other reviews and the customers weren't so happy about the service, look of the store etc. Luckily I haven't experienced any of those issues. Not wanting to pay the toll to exchange the cat food we purchased in Cherry Hill, we decided to give this place another go. Plus we needed to stop by Trader Joe's, which is right around the corner. It's that time again. Bath time for our dog. Since this is a fairly regular occurence in our household, my husband and I have been looking for something convenient. We recently went to Petco in Wynnewood to use their self wash. The facilities are no frills but get the job done (large stainless steel tub, dog ramp to get in tub, shampoo and tearless facewash, towels and high powered dryer). The cost is only $10 per wash (the cheapest we've found) with no set time limit. The best part is, if you are frequent washers like us, Petco offers buy 8 get 1 free. The same facilities are also offered at the Petco in Cherry Hill. The only difference is Wynnewood requires a reservation while Cherry Hill is first come first serve (but you can call ahead to see if there is a wait). Despite the toll, I'll probably head to CH next bath time because the drive to Wynnewood from CC is longer and less than scenic. I would recommend either Petco for self wash though and you can pick up some treats too while you're there! Heads Up: On your first visit Petco requires proof of your dog's rabies vaccination and likes to have your vet's info on file. read more

I will start off positive by acknowledging the fact that the sales team has never provided anything less than excellent customer service. Now onto the downfall of this location. Grooming! I've given this location 3 attempts of having my business. Please do not schedule your appointments at a time that will be convenient for you based on their availability on their website. I guarantee you will receive a call less than 24 hours before indicating the time slot does not work for the groomer. Twice this has happened. The first time I was understanding. The second time I just canceled the appointment completely. I take complete ownership for what happened on my last grooming visit. I should have gone elsewhere. I knew better. Although I booked an earlier appointment that was not very convenient for me, I arrived to the appointment before the groomer did. While taking care of my pet, they had the audacity to "book" my next appointment FOR ME without consulting me. Their excuse was "we like to send reminders". Well do that, why book a client for their next appointment without consulting them first. Lastly, our groomer nicked my puppy and didn't say a word. We had to discover it ourselves. The entire team is completely incompetent! Although the location is very convenient for me I will be sending my puppy elsewhere. read more

Don't go here for grooming. This Petco used to be fine, they had good hours (Open until 7pm on weekdays) and the groomers were very nice and efficient. I physically came to the store yesterday to make sure my dog's paperwork was current and make sure I could bring him in today before 7pm to just get his nails cut. At 5pm (two hours before the grooming center closes) I walked in, only to be told by an employee that all the groomers were gone for the day. The manager then came in and said everyone quit a few months ago so the grooming center hours are not what the sign says. He then told me I should have made an appointment to ensure that groomers would actually be there. ...What was I doing in the store, yesterday, making an appointment for then? I have been looking for a certain leash (one with two handles on a four foot lead) for a very long time. I have looked everywhere including the place where I bought the one I currently own and on-line. This Petco had the leash! So, I have to give it 4 star rating for having a good selection - or at least the selection I needed. However, I have been to a number of Petcos, and this seemed right in line with the rest of them. It's prices are ok, its selection is ok, but the staff seemed unfamiliar with the products and unhelpful in general. I had to ask three people about the leash before one of them was able or willing to help me find the one I needed. Of course, by then, I wanted to hug the guy because, as I mentioned, I have looked for this leash for a very long time. All in all, a good selection, but don't expect the same personal service you might find elsewhere. One other thing that you might like: Petco has a rewards program, so you can save money by joining. It's worth taking a few minutes to sign up for it, and the teller was terrific to tell me about it. read more

These people give me the runaround about cutting my cat's nails every month. Sometimes they have a guy to cut them; sometimes they have a plan to train someone; but most frequently, they have no one and no plan to change that. That said, when there is a guy to cut her nails, he does an awesome job! And the price is great! The rest of the staff is super-friendly and helpful (asked me if I needed help to my car), and the store is well-stocked. My wife made an appointment to get the dog groomed here, she said she couldn't drop the dog off at 9, and wanted 9:30. The groomer said that was fine, just drop the dog off anytime between 9 and 9:30. I get there right before 9:30, and they tell me that I missed the appointment and they can't groom the dog. The service they gave the dog in the past was not even that good to begin with. It has always been hit or miss, with mostly misses. This was the last straw. We will never go back here. read more

I called this Petco's grooming salon to inquire as to how much it would cost for my Smooth Fox Terrier to be bathed, and I was told that a bath, dry, nail clipping, and ear cleaning would cost about $32.00. Although I told them he didn't need anything but a bath, they said that it is a package deal. A few days later, I called and made him an appointment. When I dropped off my dog to be bathed, the employee told me that he could, indeed, just have a bath. I figured a simple bath and dry would cost less than the "package deal." Imagine my surprise when I was charged $41.00 for the bath (which is, by the way, more than I pay to get my hair cut at an upscale spa)! I asked why the cost was so high and whether this was because they had my dog listed as a Wire Fox Terrier on the form instead of a Smooth Fox Terrier, as Smooth Fox Terriers have significantly less hair. I was told that there was nothing they could do because they don't have Smooth Fox Terrier as a breed option in their computer system. The employee did not apologize, and did not seem to care that I was unhappy. I will never use their grooming salon again, as it is a massive rip-off! Moreover, it just didn't seem like the employees at the grooming salon liked dogs all that much. I don't even think the employees greeted my dog when I dropped him off. He was clean when I picked him up, but that was the only positive thing about this experience. read more

I should have written this post a long time ago when I bought my dog in to get her nails cut. That was probably about a year ago two days later my dog would cry every time she attempted to jump on my bed I later found out that she had a neck injury which could have only been caused by Petco because she didn't go anywhere she was in the house until I bought her there. I spent hundreds of dollars in vet bills because this place did something dog. My mistake was walking a way to go into the store as she was being taken care of. I never pursue the issue because I've never had proof so from there on out when I brought her back to get her nails cut I stay close where I had to watch my dogs nails being cut from the window. So today I brought her in to get her nails cut a young lady behind the counter I have never seen her before so I can only assume that she's new The other young lady there was grooming a dog. Usually when I take her to get her nails cut it takes no more than 15 minutes but I'm still here almost an hour just for a nail clipping so I go back into the room where my dog is and she's asking me to leave saying it works better if the dog doesn't see me. So I left but I'm still watching as my dog is agitated by her so I go back into the room and asked her what is the problem because it's never taken this long she said that my dog wasn't cooperating and again asked me to leave me well now I'm pissed off now ask her what the hell she's doing to my dog and the other young lady chimes in with her two cents that nobody asked for so I told her I'm here for my dog an I would leave when I know she's ok so I leave and I'm still pissed off again as I watched her with my dog and so I went in there and just say give me my damn dog and I left I didn't care if she was finished or not and that she didn't know what the fuck she was doing. Never going back I'm done with this place , don't know what kind of training they give these people. read more

After reading the reviews I wanted to use the grooming service more than once before reviewing. Today was my second visit and I was pleased once again. My dog looked great, she even had little bows in her hair! I had an appointment scheduled for two o clock and they were able to accommodate my request for an earlier appointment. They normally book a few days ahead so I was happy to catch a cancellation. So far I have had Adam and Alexandria and was pleased so I don't feel the need to request a specific person. read more

Dog is 6 years old and never had a problem with cuts three times a year--this is the second time we used this Petco (because it was close to home) and they made a mess of the cut again. We had our Malamute groomed here months ago at a fairly reasonable price and they shaved her back end and now, with Winter halfway through it still looks terrible and 2/3 of her tail was removed and hasn't grown back. Customer Service is forgotten at this location. When a company emails coupons to customers, the sole job of the cashier, and the manager if they get involved is to simply scan the coupon, and thank the customer for shopping at that location. Today they FAILED! Not only did they refuse to scan the coupon, but also chose speak condescendingly to the customer about how coupons work. At other locations (Andorra - so much better!) there is never a problem, with customer needs. i.e. returns, coupons, adoption, questions. This location in Wynnewood, and needs to understand that they aren't the only location out there, and that they simply lost a customer today. read more

Have been going to Petco groomers for 7 years with our dog. Just waited for almost a month for an appointment. I called because our appointment was at 10 this morning and we were going to be 10 minutes late. They told me my appointment was actually at 9:30 and they wouldn't take her. 7 years!!! I've been going there for 7 years. I'm done and will never go back. They will lose my business for all dog supplies too. I have always dropped her at 9 and they never groom her until 2, so it wasn't like they couldn't fit her in. Not to mention that you can't get through anyone on the phone at this location. I already found an appointment at another local groomer who doesn't cage the animals and will have my dog done in two hours as opposed to her being there from 9-3. read more

I try to stay out of pet stores that sell animals, but I was close by, so I stopped in. Immediately I noticed 4 guinea pigs stuffed into a display case, 1 large male chasing and trying to mount one of the other smaller pigs. Are you sure all of those piggies are properly sexed I asked? I was concerned because to me the one being mounted did not appear to be a male to me. Oh yes, they are properly sexed the employee said. I did not have time to check myself. I also noticed no toys for ANY of the other animals (ferrets, birds, mice, in a store FULL of toys. Only 2 staff members. This is what happens when a CORPORATION is more interested in profits than animal welfare. These animals all come from horrible mills just like puppy mills. STAY AWAY! If you want a small animal go to a small animal rescue. You will get an animal that is vet checked by an exotic vet, spayed/neutered and given all the proper care and husbandry information. They will find the right Pet for your family and take your pet back if it does not work out. Just because your child is begging for a pet does not always mean you should run to the pet store. Remember pet ownership is for life! Many small animals, birds and reptiles live a very long time and exotic vets are expensive. They won't tell you that at the pet store as they are more interested in getting your money. read more

Today i went and i wanted to change my dogs choice of food and the associate shue (i hope this is her name i found it on the receipt) she was very helpful with finding the right food with the right ingredients for my "senior dog" lol and even got me a coupon so my dog food was free. Took my dog for nail clipping called first and was told to just walk in. The staff ignored us, took others ahead of us while we waited and started our request and then just walked away. When I asked it they could complete it and do the job they gave me an attitude. While paying the bill I could hear someone in the grooming area yelling.
