Recently purchased a 1982 Corvette from this dealership and was assured by a salesman named, "Matt" that the vehicle had been thoroughly inspected by their mechanic and had no deficiencies / issues of any kind. I was not afforded the opportunity at the dealership to have the car placed on a lift to inspect it from underneath nor receive a signed declaration by the mechanic as to the verified condition of the vehicle. The vehicle upon further inspection and at a minimum, requires that the left-rear exhaust pipe and muffler be replaced due to rust holes, the engine receive a thorough tune-up because it will not idle, once the A/C is turned on, the A/C and blower fan are non-functional and either need to be repaired or replaced and the A/C system may not have been actually converted from R12 to R134 refrigerant, the right-side power-window is noisy, creaky and only semi-functional. The dealership was paid the asking price as advertised and all that I am asking for is that the vehicle be competently repaired, bringing it up to the mechanical standard it was said to be in at the time of sale, and that the repairs be performed in a timely manner, that is convenient to me, the new owner of the car, a one-hundred percent disabled, honorably-retired, former Paratrooper, Special Forces MSG / 1SG, and Delta Force combat veteran-Sniper Team Leader. I have been looking for a 3rd row vehicle for about a year. With all of the stipulations with financing and my budget, it was hard to find anything. I found Pete Smith while searching for a Kia Sorento. I must have received 10 inquiries from dealers from all over NC. The sales manager Gary understood what I was looking for and didn't try and sell me something that I didn't want. The loan process was so easy. I didn't have to go back and forth with the bank. The day purchased the car there was a problem with the A/C. He made it a priority to fix the problem and offered an agreement to fix it if the problem returns within 30day. I purchased a vehicle on 12/04/21 from Pete Smith auto sales. Gary and Mike were the sales representative there at the time. I test drove the vehicle early that morning and worked out a deal with Gary to purchase the vehicle for $24k. Now fast forward a week and now that I had a little more time to go over the car, I found a few small things that were not right with the car. $15-20 here and there to fix the flashing daytime running lights, slow air leak in a brand new tire, and no spare tire jack or lug nut wrench. Now I found out the the AC was not truly working when I purchased the car. I bought a recharge kit and it leaked out. Also that Pete Smith auto repair shop put new tires on and didn't use the correct wheel lock on the car and messed up some of the lug nuts and left one completely off in the center console. After relaying the AC and lug nut problem the Gary and Mike at Pete Smith auto sales, I was told to make an appointment with Pete Smith auto repair shop and have it looked at and if it was just charging the system or replacing an o ring it would be taken care of by them. If it was replacing a compressor or another part they would cover half. Now after wait 4 hours at Pete Smith auto repair and one AC recharge and o ring. They refuse to cover it. Told me that after car is sold they can't do anything. Gary was very rude over the phone and Mike went back on his word. I had to pay $100 for a charge and a o ring. At Pete Smith auto repair I spoke with Greg Smith about the messed up lug nut and was told they didn't use the correct key to get them of and was told that Gary told him not to put anything in writing for me. I would highly recommend not using Pete Smith auto sales or Pete Smith auto repair in Louisburg. Gary and Mike are shady car salesmen at shady Pete Smith auto sales.
