I have lived near Louisburg, NC for over a year & a half. Started with getting my oil changed and inspected. Since the first times I have had repairs done and the quotes were fair and in a couple of times came in below the quoted price! You don't hear that often but, that's what you get when you have a honest business during good. Also, quoted times were pretty much on point. Brennan has been my contact person and you can tell he wants to be fair to the customer and looking to ensure he builds long term customers. He always explains my options and helps me understand what needs to be done and options when there is an option. I had a nail in my tire and ended up driving around on a spare - called a well known tire place in Wake Forest and they said they absolutely could not fit me in. Happened to go past Pete Smith in Louisburg, stopped in and asked if they could patch my tire and he said "sure, give me your keys, we'll get you all set." Wow! Despite a few people waiting, the turnaround was fast and so professional. Brennan who was at the front desk was so friendly and even got me tire prices and wrote everything down for me. My car was making a squealing noise when I turned my wheel. It was close to closing time and I didn't realize that. I just wanted to get an idea of what I might be dealing with even if they couldn't fix it today. John helped me along with Justin and they took it right back and found the issue and fixed it. They were very friendly and quick. I was not pushed off bc it was closing time. I am so happy as it was very annoying and I had not had the time to get it to the shop. read more

I needed to get a wheel bearing pressed in. I scheduled an appointment two weeks in advance, and they said they had everything there already. The day of the appointment comes, I show up with the knuckle, give it to them, and then start to wait. While I'm waiting, I walked up the road to get something to eat. They called me and said they had to go get the parts that day, and when he looked in the box, it only came with the wheel bearing, no hub assembly. He said they could do it the next morning. I scheduled the appointment for a reason, and told him that was not acceptable. When I got back, they had my knuckle sitting outside their door on the ground! There was no apology for them lying to me about having the parts on hand, there was no apology for inconveniencing me completely. I had to go to a parts store, get the parts myself, and find another shop that would press the wheel bearing in. I'm glad it worked out this way anyway, because Pete Smith was trying to rip me off completely. They were trying to charge me $280 for pressing in the wheel bearing, even when I did most of the work and brought them the knuckle. Oh, I also noticed while I was there, all the certifications on the wall were expired. Stay far away from these crooks. **Edit in response to Parker S** "When you arrived for your first appointment, we diagnosed your vehicle as needing a wheel bearing and hub assembly. Our manager attempted to give you an estimated cost over the phone, including the bearing and hub, but this angered you and you indicated you didn't want the work performed." - This didn't anger me, but the estimate that was given to me was absurd, just under $600 for the work and parts. I said that, and I said I would look somewhere else. "You also indicated you were never coming back to our shop because you could get the work done for less than $100 for parts and labor, something that is impossible to do." - I never said parts and labor for this could be done for under $100. I said to just press in the wheel bearing ALONE I could get THAT done for under $100. "Your reaction was so over the top that the manager chose not to even charge you the diagnostic fee, just wanting you to leave. About two weeks later you called and scheduled to have a "noise" diagnosed. The service advisor that scheduled you back for a second appointment was unaware of what had happened before, so he scheduled you. You made no mention of coming with the knuckle and hub assembly already removed from the car." - I actually DID tell them I would be removing the knuckle and hub assembly from the car when I made the appointment, since I was originally quoted at such a high estimate for all the work to be done. "Our manager explained that we had the bearing and could press the bearing in, but it may damage the hub, and we did not recommend doing so. Our manager proceeded to check with our local vendors for a hub and bearing to properly fix your vehicle, but the parts would not arrive until the following morning. You were not happy about this and decided to swear and call our manager names disrupting our other customers in our lobby." - I was upset at this point because I had scheduled this service TWO WEEKS in advance, specifically because of how difficult it was to be able to remove the parts, and have someone take me to the shop. I had a very limited window, and that is the whole point of making an appointment for something. When I made the appointment, I was told you guys had everything there already. So, when the day of the appointment came, and you guys had to go get the parts, and then told me you didn't even have all the parts and would be able to do it the next day, that greatly upset me because I was lied to. Also, I went right up the road to a parts store and got the parts myself right after I left, so I don't know why you guys couldn't find the parts. "The disruption was great enough that a Sheriff's Deputy, which happened to be having his patrol car serviced, walked outside with you and asked you to not return. He did this on his own." - He did follow me outside to ask what was going on. I told him. He absolutely never told me to not return. The fact that you would come online and outright lie so much says everything about what kind of business you guys run. I did end up going somewhere else, and I did end up getting my bearing pressed in for just under $60. read more

Pete Smith has always done my vehicle oil changes. They put the wrong oil in my Jeep Grand Cherokee. They refuse to pay for it to be fixed and refuse to fix it. I was told by Chris the shop manager "we are just exchanging words now, we are not going to do anything about it" and he hung up. Sad that you can't support local. read more

I don't recommend them based on the following: 1. They 'forgot' to put my spare tire back into my car: Not once, but twice. Left me stranded the first time, after the first repair. Then, after a second tire repair and replacement, when I was home I decided to make sure my spare tire was put back into place again. Nope! Unbelievable, and a serious safety concern for me. They admitted they screwed up, twice, but I didn't get much of an apology. After that big of a 2X screw up, I expected more. 2. Their tire prices are high. Recommend that you call around first, and get quotes. 3. Last time I was there, after I left I experienced some kind of rubbing/noise on my right rear tire. I immediately returned. They quickly saw what had happened, and fixed it. They explained what it was, and almost kind of laughed off my concern. Zero apology. 4. This is kind of a quibble:. The mechanics always would move my seat way back, change the seat back, and not readjust it again. Just to pull it into a bay, really? I felt disrespected at this place, and won't return. read more

I have a BMW asked them to work on it. I called the Rolesville branch and referred me to Louisburg branch. I was told they don't do that kind of work. It was a transmission problem. Its good that they were open about their mechanical limitations. Only means you can't count on them with real car problems. read more

My driver's side door handle fell off and they were able to fix it in two days. They overnighted the part so I didn't have to be without my car for as long. My car is essential to my job, so this saved me some serious stress. They quoted me a price, which I agreed to, and then it turned out they were able to do it for cheaper. I'm impressed they lowered the price, since I'd already agreed to the higher price. They have earned my trust and I'll definitely be back. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for speed of service and an honest mechanic. read more

I purchased a vehicle on 12/04/21 from Pete Smith auto sales. Gary and Mike were the sales representative there at the time. I test drove the vehicle early that morning and worked out a deal with Gary to purchase the vehicle for $24k. Now fast forward a week and now that I had a little more time to go over the car, I found a few small things that were not right with the car. $15-20 here and there to fix the flashing daytime running lights, slow air leak in a brand new tire, and no spare tire jack or lug nut wrench. Now I found out the the AC was not truly working when I purchased the car. I bought a recharge kit and it leaked out. Also that Pete Smith auto repair shop put new tires on and didn't use the correct wheel lock on the car and messed up some of the lug nuts and left one completely off in the center console. After relaying the AC and lug nut problem the Gary and Mike at Pete Smith auto sales, I was told to make an appointment with Pete Smith auto repair shop and have it looked at and if it was just charging the system or replacing an o ring it would be taken care of by them. If it was replacing a compressor or another part they would cover half. Now after wait 4 hours at Pete Smith auto repair and one AC recharge and o ring. They refuse to cover it. Told me that after car is sold they can't do anything. Gary was very rude over the phone and Mike went back on his word. I had to pay $100 for a charge and a o ring. At Pete Smith auto repair I spoke with Greg Smith about the messed up lug nut and was told they didn't use the correct key to get them of and was told that Gary told him not to put anything in writing for me. I would highly recommend not using Pete Smith auto sales or Pete Smith auto repair in Louisburg. Gary and Mike are shady car salesmen at shady Pete Smith auto sales.
