He was a great neurologist. Very easy to talk to. Made me feel comfortable. Very thorough . I would recommend him to everyone.

Dr. Andersson was attentive during my appointments, but it is impossible to communicate with his office, get refills on prescriptions and get medical records sent to other doctors. Try calling the office and no one will ever pick up. They say leave a message but in the past it has taken multiple calls and voicemails to request refills or make follow up appointments. When you suffer from migraines it is imperative to have the proper meds available. This office is not responsive, organized or accessible. I have found it easier to simply show up at the office to get what I needed than to leave multiple messages over the course of a few weeks. I do not recommend this office for anyone who likes to communicate with their doctor. read more

Dr Anderson is thorough and genuinely cares about his patients. I came to him scared, confused & frustrated. He spent over 2 hours with me on my initial consultation & made sure to run every possible test. He read through all my previous medical history & reviewed all past records & he has personally followed up with me consistently every time I message him. The app he has through his practice is so convenient & has all your records & medications in one place for easy & quick reference. It's such a pleasure to have a true professional that is 100% knowledgeable & who really cares & sympathizes with your situation. The doctor is excellent, kind and helpful. They office is a monumental pain to get anyone to answer the phone. Messages are sometimes returned. We've never had an issue with trying to reach the doctor, rather just to schedule an appointment, medication refill or get chart records is a very trying experience. read more

Dr Peter B Anderson came very highly recommended by several people. They were definitely correct. He is absolutely wonderful! He is not only a wonderful Dr, but extremely compassionate, very knowledgeable and a great bedside manner. He goes above and beyond the call of duty, which is extremely rare today in medicine. We cant speak highly enough about him. He works diligently to get to the root of the problem and doesn't give up. He has outstanding reviews, and we see why. We are so glad we found him. What the heck is wrong with this doctor's office???!!!!!! Dr Andersson came HIGHLY recommended by a close friend and my orthopedist. However, I have NEVER been able to speak with anyone at the office to make an appointment! I started calling a couple months ago and still have never reached anyone directly when I call the office...The calls ALWAYS go to voicemail. It seems he does not have a receptionist, front desk person or nurse who answers his phone. Then I leave a message along with my cell number and email address and they have called back only 1 out of about every 6 times I call. They other times no one even returns my calls. So, they leave a message and I call back right away. Then days go by before I maybe get a call back. So the next voicemail message I leave I suggest we communicate through email to schedule an appointment. Even on his outgoing message you are asked to leave your email. But they have NEVER emailed me. What the heck???!!! I am so frustrated and he come so highly recommended that I was really hoping to see him even though he does not accept insurance. Dr Andersson needs to get a new office staff and improve communications. I hate giving someone only 1 star when I never even saw the doctor, but this is ridiculous and he should be aware that his office is so poorly run. read more

I saw this doctor in the spring of this year because I had the hallmark symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) so my rheumatologist referred me to request an MRI workup. I was unbalanced, had suffered almost 30 lbs of muscle wasting, and was falling a lot. I also had been complaining of severe muscle spasms, convulsions, and loss of vision in one eye. Dr. A not only refused to order MRIs, he diagnosed me with ocular migraines (despite a complete lack of symptoms or complaints on my part to support that diagnosis) and said I had bilateral carpal tunnel syndrome. He only ran tests on one said of my arm and said it was 100% certain I would also have it on the other side so there was no need to repeat the test. He also noted in my chart (without testing me) my gait and other neurological functions were normal. He said I did not have MS. He pulled just short of calling me a hypochondriac. My husband wrote to him and asked Dr. A to please remove certain things from my record that were not correct -- and had been noted in other medical records. For example, my gait was not normal -- I was falling! But he refused stating he could not legally change his own record once it was in a portal and stood by his original diagnosis that I only had bilateral carpal tunnel and ocular migraines. My next fall was a bad one and I sought a second opinion. My new neurologist was concerned and she did order full MRIs -- twice -- six months apart now. The MRI series (Dr. A refused to order weeks early) showed brain lesions (in both scans 6 months apart so not old, but current lesions). The MRIs also showed multiple herniated discs in my back including one 10mm bulge, and a degrading neck (which I had just had 2-level ACDF surgery for). If you think there is something wrong, and you were told you were fine, I'd get a second opinion before accepting this doctors diagnosis. read more

Dr. A is great example of the theory of Intelligent Design as he was clearly born to be a doctor. He is thorough and up to date in his diagnosis and treatment methods. Despite his advanced training and brilliant mind you can have a conversation about your condition and treatment options without the pomposity and dismissiveness that so often afflicts medical practitioners. In my case the treatment plan was presented in clear steps in order of priority to gain relief and confirmation of my condition as efficiently as possible. If you decide to go to Dr. Andersson, be sure to check with your insurance first. I saw him, years ago and really liked him. My out-of-town brother is visiting here for a month, and needs a local neurologist, I gladly recommended Dr. Andersson. He is suffering from pain and discomfort related to surgery on his hand. He provided all of his insurance information in advance. He also had a prescription from his Dr. at home, for an MRI. He drove from Ventura to their office in Tarzana. They decided not to take his insurance, and sent him away. Why ask for insurance, if they are not going to take the time to see if they will accept it before making an appointment?? Needless to say, I will be looking for another practice. It does not matter how great a Dr. is, when the office treats their patients with so little respect. read more

This message is for Dr. Andersson and your staff. I am not giving a review about a visit with the doctor because we never made it that far. Maybe if his front desk staff was more respectful to patients calling in, we would have. I called this morning to schedule an appointment for my brother who had just had a seizure as I am explaining to the reception what happened she cuts me off to ask me for my health insurance coverage and proceeds to tell me that we're out of network and what the visit would cost. I understand the terms of insurance plans, but I would have appreciated she let me finish my story first and informed me that we were out of network in a more polite manner. You work for a neurologist office that deal with very sensitive issues, maybe you can make that your priority over billing disclaimers. read more

Dr. A is really helpful and easy to talk to. I'm trying hard to catch up with his incredible modernization and technological advances, but that's my short comings. His email accessibility makes him accessible. And that's the most important aspect. My only recommendation is make sure to ask what those big words mean. read more

Dr. Andersson is simply a great doctor! I have been going to him for a number of years, and he always goes the extra mile to make sure he is addressing my problems and finding appropriate solutions. He always follows up on issues and really seems to care. Jenna and Melanie in his office are also very helpful and understanding. I recently changed insurance (Medicare) and the new plan didn't want to cover migraine drugs I had been taking for years. Dr. Andersson was relentless in fighting their denials and after spending considerable time, he was successful and the drugs are now being covered. I don't often leave reviews, but Dr. Andersson is simply amazing. I had been suffering for months and he is the 4th neurologist I have seen. The prior three, though reputable and also affiliated with large hospitals, would not give me more than a few minutes of time. Unlike the prior three neurologists, Dr. Andersson actually sat with me and went over my entire medical history, went over my MRI, and went over options for a course of treatment. After my appointment he has been extremely responsive via his messaging service on his electronic portal. I feel extremely lucky to have found Dr. Andersson and am now on the road to recovery. read more

My experience with Doctor Andersson was excellent I feel very very fortunate to have him as my doctor he is so caring and very thorough in finding the problem and providing the best treatment and tests. I had a 2 seizures and the first neurologist said it was nothing to worry about it was trans global amnesia i think that is the term she used and said i would never have it again. She had looked at all the test from The hospital and they were not showing anything substantial. She never suggested medication or any further investigation with more tests. the second one was more severe and I was released from the hospital and then saw Doctor Andersson the next day. there was a remarkable difference. He tested me in the office with eeg and was negative the scheduled an MRI but wanted a special one to zero in on a small scar tissue on the left side om brain they and did the opposite MRI he was very upset and addressed the situation immediately. he arranged to have other MRI done which we did and all was good In the meantime prescribed medication the first one I had side affects he weaned me off it and prescribed another which did not affect me as bad, Not only is professional but the most on top of the issues than most doctors would be. He communicates with me on portal almost immediately when I message him, and eases my mind with any concerns. He helped me to get licence back call the dmv supervisor when they rejected me and they took the suspension off, and gave me the permission to drive again. I could not believe the negative review one of the patients gave it is the total opposite from what my experience has been. I would recommend any one to see him he is top of the line I am blessed to have him as my doctor. On a side note Jenna and the whole staff is wonderful kind and consider it. They make you feel that you matter to them. Dr Andersson is amazing! His bedside manner, his communication (even through the portal), and his dedication to finding solutions. He works so hard to not only find programs for cheaper medication, but to ensure the insurance companies cover the RIGHT medications. He is patient (I can be flaky and he never makes me feel bad) and is so diligent working with you to lay out a plan with parts A B and C so you know what to do next if one medication fails (I have severe migraine and intractable vomiting so it's a complicated mess). He was referred to me by another amazing doctor and neither one has disappointed.
