He immediately made me feel at ease as he preceded with treatment that included special eye glasses, eye drops and tons of hope. Four months later my vision was rectified and I couldn't be happier. The staff at Dr. Basilice's office was incredible. I attribute that to the great leadership and care he instills in his practice and treatments. Setauket with Valentina Blaine OD. when I arrived, I did the self check in at the kiosk and waited in the lobby. I could hear the reception area and how much fun all the staff was having, they seem to be extremely friendly, which is a far cry from the Port Jeff staff. IJS. When I was called into the office, the nursing staff that I encountered was extremely friendly and very nice. The doctor came in, put drops in & examined both my eyes. She then asked me if I had allergies and I told her yes, I take Claritin daily. She asked me if I ever take eye drops I said no need to since Claritin works. She stood up as I was still leaning forward with my chin in the cup for the exam. Valentina said "I don't see anything, OK?" I reiterated that "Something is still in my eye, and it has nothing to do with allergies". I specifically remember when the object hit my eye. Valentina reiterated the same and then left the exam room. I walked out confused. Never in my life have I ever had a doctor not have a plan or remedy. Even if they had no clue of a diagnosis for a patient. Her behavior was atypical at best. I went to the receptionist & asked if she could find out if there was any type of tx plan for me. She returned & told me to get eye drops. When I asked for some, she said OCLI doesn't have ANY samples to give me. I left in the same condition that I arrived in. I called OCLI on the phone and told them about what happened and I don't think it's fair that I didn't even get my eye flushed. I was placed on hold and office mgr Jackie spoke to me on the phone and tried to encourage me to return to the office to get further assistance. I told her no thank you, and referenced how I wouldn't even return food in a restaurant; I'd rather leave due to poor service. I told her I will go to the urgent care and get the proper treatment, which I did and everything is great! I called my insurance company and told them that I don't think OCLI should be paid for this visit. I was told that I can appeal the decision of the visit when they see the claim, which I may do. I will make sure anyone that I know is aware of the treatment that I received from Valentina Blaine OD. I would never give her the satisfaction to be called a doctor. She should be embarrassed & ashamed of the way she treated me as a patient with such dismissiveness. Valentina Blaine was a disgraceful experience that I wouldn't wish on any patient. I will never return to OCLI because of Valentina Blaine & how disgustingly she treated me as a patient. I question if she even took an ethical oath when she got her license to practice. She needs retraining or needs to return for internship to see how it's properly done. Sad that she's part of Catholic Health Services. Her morals need to be reevaluated.

Well I had a recent concern about my eyes and decided it was time to get a check up and a diagnosis. I was pleasantly surprised and impressed with Dr. Geiger upon our first meeting. Caring, knowledgeable, and friendly is what I was looking for and did I get more! I lucked out with Dr Geiger and can't wait till my next appointment.

And as for Dr…read more Laud, my impression was that he viewed me somewhere between a lab rat and another annoying customer. I've seen him a few times. I wasn't impressed on the first visit but thought I would try again over the course of a year because I felt anyone can have a bad day. But no. When you have problems with your vision, like I do, and you have to see a retinal specialist, you want to be asked how you're seeing and if there have been changes. You want to hear what he is observing. Instead, he dictates to his assistant in medical lingo and you kind of have to remind him to translate to you. Won't be going back.

Was sent here by this doctor's colleague at Manhasset OCLI after she was not sure of her own…read morediagnosis so for that I am grateful to her (somewhat). This place is packed at 8am on a Saturday. I was shuttled thru quite seamlessly from one area (getting info on my issues) to another (get eyedrops to dilate and numb my eyes) before getting into the "exam chair" Dr Laud's assistant Skip came to check how dilated my eyes were (IT was less then 8 minutes at that point) apparently eyes weren't dilating fast enough so I got more drops to speed the process up. And walla. In less then 3 minutes they were numbed and dilated and ready for prodding. Was prompted with same questions and again questioned on my description. Why is It hard to understand: "I saw a ribbon of black, then wall of grey speckles? "??? Dr Laud enters and tho I didn't see him wash or sanitize his hands because I assume he is a professional-- I assume he did. But in retrospect-- did he? (In such a hurried atmosphere- one wonders) He looked into my eyes quite deeply and aggressively while mouthing off words to Skip: "pvd. Lattice". And other scary incomprehensible words. At conclusion. I was given instructions of what to avoid & meds not to take with no explanations. When I brought up the computer avoidance thing. I said I work with Computers and he said: "Oh well, I can't help you there." Well. How about a note for my work place or explaining why that would be "bad" for my eyes? I wasn't cleared on exactly what my condition is. Except to hear "it's age related, there's blood and let's wait and see how your eye is in two weeks" and with that, the doctor leaves room leaving Skip behind. Because I had so many questions I didn't get to ask. I found myself going back to look for Skip or dr Laud after I left the room to try to ask them. And only could shout out one question to Skip as I spotted him running between rooms amongst many that I got a shout back answer that I'm not sure was answered with thought nor privacy. So I got more answers then the other OCLI visit but not really in a satisfied way. I heard enough words to prompt my own internet investigation even though I was told NOT to use the computer. I needed to understand if what I am told is NOT an immediate danger and only then did I feel like I have some understanding of it in a vague, non medical explanation. Meantime. Sitting here with fear on eyes till next appt. This place: OCLI (ophthalmic consultant of Long Island) is another cattle processing place. It's a tad better then the one in Manhasset but still felt rushed out. Doctor: Though you probably explain stuff all day long and maybe gave my explanation to another patient many times over. Treat me as "new" and as a dumb dumb who really don't "know" and slow to learn Because patients see you to get unhurried, layman's answers for their (to them) seemingly "dire" conditions. Believe me it's dire when you see black ribbons with no symptoms on the front of the eye. Please take the time to explain and allow for questions. Why are you in such a hurry to leave the room?

BEWARE. I went to dr. Kneessy for a "consult" for breast…read morereduction surgery. I met with him, nice dr it seemed, but not someone I felt entirely comfortable with. I had a second consult with a different doctor, one more personable and thorough, and someone that really listened. Now I have 2 doctors, one I vibed with and dr. Kneessy. After hours of research online, reading reviews and testimonials, I made the best decision and chose the other Dr. Let me tell you, Dr. Kneessys office does NOT take rejection well. His office staff are argumentative and not professional at all. Like big kids stomping their feet because you chose not to go with them. My "free" consultation turned into a $425 bill. Unless you want to throw your money out, just don't bother going through the same headache I have. I'm sure Dr. Kneessy is a nice person, it's not so much his talent I am reviewing. It's his atrocious staff. Personally, after reading his reviews (or lack there of), it seemed like his strengths are with hand surgeries. These were my breast's on the table, literally. In the end I went with Dr. Romanelli...and have had a WONDERFUL experience. I am one week out of surgery and feel very confident and happy in my decision. I'd be happy to share my experience with anyone if you have questions. Go with your gut, it's a personal intimate decision...one that you can't be bullied into like I felt I was with Dr. Kneessys office.
