Knowing the law, I called in the morning to see if there was anything I needed to do being that I would not be at the appt., I was told it was not a problem. When my sister arrived she was met with nasty clerical staff insisting for a note or to speak to me(which is totally normal except for the fact I called earlier to see if that was necessary). After waiting for an hour in the waiting room, suddenly they said it was Ok because they had all the necessary info on file and she was seen my the dr(with whom only spoke to my son, ignoring my sister completely). The worst of it is when I called to complain. The secretary said she remembered my sister and stated that she had a bad attitude and would be happy to send my sons records anywhere necessary....then rudely hung up on me. I am so angry!!! I was willing to pay UP FRONT IN CASH, they still would not see me. I have an urgent eye health issue. As a new employee who started with my company in the last few weeks, I am fully covered and can be seen by ANY provider-- and have confirmed such with my HR department several times today. My insurance WILL PAY. However due to the holidays and employee availability, my coverage is not yet confirmed with my insurance provider BCBS. This is purely an administrative timing issue related to my recent start date-- and I would be fully covered in the event I was seen by any provider. However--- due to the self serving policy of Morris & Romanelli, they refuse to see me unless they can confirm I am covered WITH the insurance provider. It is 4 days before christmas, I have called over 36 different eye doctors, no one has appointments. I can see why Morris & Romanelli has an opening--- because they are heartless and their customers know it. DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR, EVER!!! I am sure their greed and uncaring nature towards their neighbors (I live literally down the road) reflects in the care they give to their patients. I will be leaving this review in as many places as I can find to warn others about this practice. "We cant bend the rules for anyone, sir". "That would be fraudlent". My eyesight had deteriorated after leaving the hospital, and went to Pearl for a long overdue exam. The Dr immediately said there was a bigger issue than he could handle and referred me to OCLI. While waiting for my appointment in Massapequa, I woke up largely blind in my right eye with long black strands over my field of vision. We called, and they were kind enough to move up our appointment... but in Huntington. Lots of tests and looking and meeting DR Bloom and Dr Brennan. I had bad cataracts on both eyes.... very bad in right along with what appeared to be some bleeding. To make a long story shorter..... Dr Bloom did both eyes, with the left being better IMMEDIATELY.... and ending up with 20/30 vision! The right did have some bleeding, but thankfully no retna issue.... just blood. DR Brennan tried several shots to clear it up, but surgery is necessary. We'll do that 11/19, From both doctors to everyone at the office, I've felt cared for and lucky to have found OCLI!

The waits are beyond excessive and, frankly, ridiculous. No matter the appointment time, you should expect to sit for a long stretch before being seen. What's especially frustrating is that they are very efficient when it comes to collecting your copay immediately upon arrival, yet there is no comparable urgency when it comes to respecting the patient's time afterward. After checking in and paying, you're left waiting--sometimes moving from room to room--without any clear communication or explanation. I'm not commenting on the doctors' medical competence, as I expect physicians to be knowledgeable and capable in their field, and in that regard there were no major issues. Personality-wise, the providers were fine and professional enough. That said, patient experience is more than just clinical skill. Time management and respect for scheduled appointments matter, and this office consistently falls short in that area.

I had an appointment with Dr. Tan who took her time and explained every step of the eye exam. She was informative, knowledgeable and very friendly. I got a pair of updated glasses and a new contact lens prescription, both of which have worked out nicely. Doctors nowadays are often criticized for having no bedside manner and apathy, not the case here. This practice is family owned with a very relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. I would be coming back here for my yearly eye exam if I didn't moved cross country.
