We have used this service for many years without complaint. Today was the first time it was late. Staff informed us in advance of the delay which was nice. Great driver made up for his late arrival by getting everyone to their destination in a timely fashion. Seats are comfortable. Large luggage goes underneath the bus once you check in with the driver. Food and drink is allowed. Just clean up your mess when you're done. Bathroom facilities on board. read more

This was one of the worst travel experiences of my life. I showed up early for my 4:45 PM bus from White Marsh to NYC with my valid Megabus ticket (which is now under Peter Pan). The driver refused to let me board -- even after I showed him my QR code and reservation. He said I "wasn't on the list" and slammed the door in my face. I was left stranded. Then I find out he reported I was a no-show and accused me of being rude and cursing -- complete lies. I was calm and just trying to solve the issue. To make it worse, the Peter Pan rep on the phone mocked me and hung up after I said I'd buy a new ticket later. No help. No respect. Just pure humiliation. I'm 63. I took Bus #7661 from Hyannis to Boston's Logan Airport on 06/15/25. I had purchased my ticket a week before online. The bus left on time and the seat I was in was clean. The bus driver was friendly and greeted every single person as he checked tickets, with a welcome smile. He helped everyone with their luggage arriving and departing. As required by the company, he did not talk with the passengers while driving- a true professional. I felt very safe, and also that it was a good value at $34 as opposed to asking family drive to and from Hyannis to the airport, which is a very long haul. I haven't been on a city bus in probably 30 years, but I would definitely take Peter Pan again. read more

Peter Pan is supposed to be a better, faster alternative to Greyhound, but honestly I'd rather take the latter. The buses haven't been updated, so they are uncomfortably worn out and it seems that none of the outlets work. At first I thought it was just a fluke bus I took back in August, but it was the same thing again this past weekend. Peter Pan used to be great back in 2010/2011... not sure what happened. I purchased a ticket to go from New Bedford, MA to Logan Airport Boston. I arrived at the N.B. bus terminal early and waited outside with my luggage. My scheduled Peter Pan Bus arrived about eight minutes early and waited along the far side of the terminal. When the departure time came the driver simply started the engine and took off! No announcement was made prior, no instructions on the website stating you would have to cross several lanes in the busy terminal, and no signs posted anywhere for pickup. All the local buses picked up the passengers at the curb. I had no reason to think otherwise that the Peter Pan Bus would provide the same courtesy! read more

Generous three stars. I took a bus from Union Station to go to New York after work. I chose Peter Pan based on price and travel time. You get $5 off your first order. The bus came with charging stations and WiFi. There are supposedly bathrooms on board, but I do my best to avoid those. The WiFi was reliable enough to listen to Spotify during the trip. Only one side of the bus had charging outlets that worked, however kudos to the bus operator for doing a quality check and notifying the passengers prior to the trip so that we could pick our seats accordingly. The temperature on the bus was freezing and the buses need to be cleaned better - the bus quality would increase if the bus company did a walk through and picked up trash in between trips. I would think that since the bus company runs trips so frequently, they would have the estimated arrival time down to a science, traffic and time of day considered. We left on time (5pm) for an estimated 9:20pm arrival time, but arrived closer to 10pm. It was a bumpy ride but not unbearable - I was able to sleep some. We made it to New York in one piece and the bus didn't breakdown, so Peter Pan is an acceptable transportation option. read more

I would give 0 stars if I could. Our bus left over 45 minutes late, and after we boarded, we learned that the AC was "going in and out." This was incorrect, there was no AC during our entire ride from New York to Washington, DC. One of the most insulting aspects of this situation is that Peter Pan had advanced notice of multiple heat and air advisories for that date and time. If buses needed to be renovated/ refurbished this was NOT the weekend to send out those buses. It was a safety risk. I was extremely concerned for the older passengers. Peter Pan gambled with their lives. It was 98 degrees outside and it was more comfortable outside than on the bus. Shame on this company. I am a young woman in good health, and I felt nauseous due to the heat the whole trip. I could not read, nor could I even look at my phone. I could only sit and stare out the window. My clothing was soaked in sweat. A older gentleman sat in front of me, and I was worried for his safety. Being in a bus where there is little to no air flow for 4 to 5 hours that is nearly 100 degrees can lead to dehydration, heat stroke or other heat related health or respiratory issues. I do want to mention that our bus driver, James, was wonderful and he is a good employee. If I were him, I would have quit that day and called OSHA about the working conditions. It was not safe for him to be operating a large vehicle that day. He was as kind and as accommodating as he could be with the situation that the company put him in. I waited for 2+ hours at the Hartford Union Station for the Peter Pan bus to Boston. I got there 30 mins earlier than departure time, arrived at 3:30 pm to take the 4:00 pm bus. At 4, someone notified me that the bus is running an hr late due to traffic. I sit and wait and wait. Then hit 5 pm and I go and ask the status, again they said it's struck in traffic but arriving in 15 mins. Around 5:30pm I was told that the bus broke down on its way, so now they will combine the 4pm passengers with the scheduled 5:30 pm bus. It really sounded like they didn't have a lot of passengers on the 4 pm schedule, therefore, they intentionally delayed the bus untill time for the next departure, which is 5:30pm. Here I am still sitting and waiting for any bus to arrive. It's almost 5:45 pm and still nothing. Been here waiting since 3:30 pm. This is my first time with Peter Pan and my first time in Connecticut, completely ruined. I'm coming from California, and not planning to ever take Peter Pan again. Grey Hound is much more realible. When I told people I was taking the bus to Boston, I got a couple horrified looks. I assumed they were due to the 8+ hour travel time and layover in New York, or maybe Peter Pan's affiliation with Greyhound (sketchtastic). I was dead wrong. Two weeks ago I bought a standard fare, round-trip ticket from the Peter Pan website. I was asked for a specific date and time for each leg of the trip. A week ago I received my ticket in the mail. It had no dates or times on it. Curious. THURSDAY, JULY 1ST, 9:30 PM: I arrive at the Peter Pan station in DC. There's a massive line for my gate; way too many people to fit into one bus. I quickly find out, due to signage, that my "standard fare" ticket actually means "standby." As in, I'm not guaranteed a seat. Umm.... While I'm in line, fretting, I chat with the lady in front of me. She had been in town to see her son graduate and was on her way back to New York. I told her I was due for a job interview in Boston the next day, and she wished me luck. People began boarding the bus around 10, and there were a lot ahead of me. As I approached the doorway to the loading area, the ticketing agent informed my companion that she had the last seat on the bus. She turned to me, and without a word offered me her reserved seating ticket. Humanity: 1. Peter Pan: 0. FRIDAY, JULY 2ND, 2:30 AM: Port Authority was chaos. There were two gates to Boston, and no one knew which to pick. Some people had Greyhound tickets, some Peter Pan, and some both. No one seemed to be in charge. I arbitrarily chose a line to stand in, and waited for an hour. Then someone in a neon vest came by, yelled something about Peter Pan passengers using the other gate, and scurried away. I switched lines. The bus I had been waiting for the whole time filled up and left. Another busload's worth of people was left. My line was suspiciously empty. I ran outside and showed my ticket to a bus attendant. He informed me I had been in the right line to begin with. I slunk back to the first gate and promptly waited another hour to board. Once we were underway at 4:30 AM, I tried to sleep. The bus was freezing. 3/4 of the way there, someone noticed that the driver had forgotten to drop people off in Hartford, CT. The driver had no idea I was getting off in Baltimore which was frustrating and frankly a bit embarrassing. One of the better bus lines I have tried when traveling from DC to NYC. Peter Pan has always been on time for me. The drivers are friendly and professional. The buses are pretty clean. Peter Pan is way better than Megabus, Best Bus, Bolt, Flix Bus and Greyhound. Peter Pan sometimes accommodates early departures with a ticket for a later departure if there is room. Descent waiting area in DC as well. Can't find a better DC to NYC bus and the price is nice too. I have always had an empty seat next to me to stretch out into while people are boarding other busy packed buses at Union Station in D.C. Don't know why such a good bus line departs with only a dozen or so people. I think a lot of these bad Peter Pan reviews are unwarranted considering any bus line will have to deal with occasional situations outside of their control like traffic or mechanical problems. When it comes to rating transportation companies, it's only fair to rate them based on multiple trips and not a bad review for one inconvenience if they handle the situation professionally. Only suggestion would be to remind your drivers to be safe and not tailgate at high speed while beeping on the highway. Napped lightly on that trip some time ago, but the driver was great otherwise. No complaints overall. Traveled with about a half dozen drivers over the past few months and not calling a driver out for wanting to be on time, but better to arrive alive over being unsafe in attempt to arrive on time. read more

I wish I could rate zero stars. I take buses from DC to NYC regularly and Peter Pan has by far been the worst experience I've had (including the time my bus literally caught on fire). Our bus to NYC broke down 3 miles outside of Wilmington, DE. We were stuck on our bus on the side of the highway in the dark with no A/C, electricity, or working bathroom for over 3 hours with no communication about a solution for us. Because we were stopped on a highway we could not get an Uber to come to our location. No customer service representatives would answer calls, and our bus driver (who worked hard to help us) could not get an answer about a solution for the broken down bus and stranded passenger for hours. If you're thinking about taking Peter Pan because it's cheap, think again. They don't care about their customers' safety or livelihoods, just the revenue from their tickets. read more

Where to start... I am currently on the bus from New York to DC (my second Peter Pan bus in two days) and it is MISERABLE. In short, it is the middle of July and the air conditioner is blowing HOT air. Everyone on this bus is fanning themselves with whatever they can find and pouring water over their heads to try and stay cool. In fact, some riders have even walked up to the driver and asked him to do something because it is so unbearably hot in here. I wish I could say this is an isolated incident but the Peter Pan bus I took yesterday (from DC to NYC) was exactly the same- no AC, and a lot of very hot, unhappy riders. I actually ended up having to go to an urgent care center when I arrived in New York because of heat illness- yes, it's THAT bad. Do yourself a favor and travel to your destination literally any other way. It was actually less hot walking around the streets of Manhattan than it is inside of this ungodly bus right now. I wish I could give this less than a star but I'm not even sure it deserves that. I will updating this review as our ride deteriorates Update 1: 10 minutes later and people are now pouring water over their heads. I have slept in tents more comfortable than this outdated furnace on wheels. Update 2: A baby is now crying while it's parents frantically fan it. Everyone is walking up and down the bus trying to cool off by means of the unrealistically small bathroom. Elbows and arms are being bumped. Very little room to move. Update 3: One hour later and we continue to slow roast. We are stuck in traffic and any airflow that was helping the situation is now gone. Oh yeah, and did I mention that the guy in front of me is on the phone yelling obscenities next to a woman with two small children? This bus SUCKS. Update 4: Just arrived in Baltimore late. Our driver got straight up LOST on the route from Boston to NYC. We ended up being on that but for almost 7 hours, when the trip is supposed to take about 4. I had even called beforehand to reschedule my tickets to an earlier time in the day just to be sure I wouldn't be late. It cost me $37.50 to change my ticket, which okay, fine, was a lot, but I went with it. However we were so late, we got there way later than my original bus would have arrived. Then on the bus ride home, I was sitting near the back of the bus, and fumes from the exhaust were coming into the cabin the whole ride. I would have moved, but the bus was completely full. I ended up with a throat and nose reaction that lasted the rest of the week. It has been nearly impossible to contact customer support- they either ignore you, or if you manage to get a person on the phone, they immediately transfer you to voicemail. All I would want is a refund of the ticket rescheduling price, but after being passed around for WEEKS, they refuse, and would only give me a $12 credit for future tickets. No WAY am I going to book with them again, though, so it's worthless. read more

Its really hard to write a review for intercity bus lines. We take them mostly because we can't afford other ways to travel. While flying accommodations on planes are similar to inter-city buses (tight), the distance they travel in a given time-frame greatly makes up for the inconvenience. The cost factor on the other hand; is quite problematic, Same thing for the intercity trains - they have the roomiest accommodations and are faster than the intercity buses, but the cost factor is also quite a challenge. That brings us to the various types of intercity bus travel. Several different companies operate intercity travel, but they're collectively the least preferred method, yet most cost efficient. Take Peter Pan bus lines for instance. They're an independent company, but have a route (and ticket) sharing agreement with Greyhound. I travel back and forth between NYC and Baltimore several times a year, and most buses I book through the Greyhound website actually tend to be Peter Pan buses. Booking online through Peter Pan's (or Greyhound's) website is pretty easy so that's a plus. There is a $20 change fee once you purchase your ticket, so don't miss your bus or otherwise have to reschedule; that change fee stings. Also, you have to either print your ticket at home or elect to pick up your ticket from the will call window at the terminal. Note: you CANNOT elect to print your ticket at home then ask to have it printed at the window at the terminal when/if you forget to print your ticket at home. They will NOT let you show your ticket number or confirmation number from your phone. Peter Pan and Greyhound pick up from Port Authority, which for all it's issues, is subway accessible, covered and temperature regulated (?), and has places to buy food and use the bathroom. The Baltimore terminal is (now) adjacent to the Horsehoe Casino and adjacent to a Holiday Inn hotel and Royal Farms. There's a bathroom and vending machines for snacks and food. Its relatively clean and they do have a TV that plays CNN or ESPN. The #27 Baltimore local bus also picks up here and takes you into downtown. Depending on how far in advance you purchase your ticket, you'll be assigned a boarding number between 1 and 55 (the max # of seats on the bus). At the terminal you board by boarding group number (1-10, 10-20, 20-30, 30-40, 40+). Most of the time they will check this, but not every time so be ready when you see your bus (especially in Baltimore where they have only one lane and group numbers are different parts of the same lane). For the amount of time you spend with ticketing and waiting in the terminal, you spend so much more of it on the bus - so what's that experience like? Well here's the good news for starters - the buses come with outlets and wifi. each of the seats has a little tray that folds up and down. The coaches have bathrooms. Sounds reasonable enough. Here's the bad news - Peter Pan has the TIGHTEST SEATS between rows. After riding Greyhound, MegaBus, BoltBus and Peter Pan - Peter Pan has the tightest seats between rows. Now I'm pretty tall, 6'3, but us tall folks need options too. All the other bus lines have more room between seats. I prefer Greyhound's the best (but that's a separate review/update). I've never been impressed with wifi on any of the buses (or intercity trains for that matter), so if it works, nice. If it doesn't, I whip out my air card. Overall, Peter Pan gets points for its Port Authority pickup and dropoff, outlets and cost relative to other methods of transportation (air, rail, car). It loses points for how tight the seats are, spotty wifi, and how tight the seats are combined with the spotty wifi and the length of the trip. All that said, for my next trip to and from Baltimore, I'll probably be back on Peter Pan. read more

Literally was not allowed on a bus I paid for even when I brought the ticket via email because I didn't print it out and the bus company was not able to print it out themselves and said they couldn't give me a ticket I already bought because their system doesn't give out e tickets. No apologies no nothing. I sent an email to customer service complaining and they could care less. I didn't even get a refund for my bus. It was a huge waste of time and money. Would I rather be taking a plane or a train than kicking back for ten hours on a bus? Yes, but I'm cheap, so here we are. I took the bus from DC to Boston via Port Authority. Most importantly, both buses departed and arrived ON TIME, which was an awesome surprise; props to the drivers and other staff for making that happen. The Greyhound bus from New York to Boston was super comfortable and easy to sleep on. Unfortunately, the Peter Pan bus for the other leg was a little older and less plush, but still decent. There's not really any room to store bags at your feet unless you want to put your feet on top of them. The drivers were professional and on the whole safe, although one guy did have a penchant for honking the horn. We pulled over for 15 minutes at a Popeye's (?) between Boston and New York, which was just as well because the bathroom on the bus reeked. The outlets worked, but the wifi was pretty slow and unreliable. My only other complaint is that the tickets could be more clear. I didn't really understand what distinguishes an "express" bus. Also, the signage in Port Authority was miserable--if you're transferring buses, you have to go upstairs to the Greyhound office to find out the gate number, then go back down to the bus level--but I suspect that's not all Peter Pan's fault. Overall, I think Peter Pan/Greyhound is definitely worth the extra $10 or so over Megabus. read more

Ticket # One of the most deceptive bus companies in operation. Was stopped by the ticket scanner because there "wasn't enough room on the 6:30pm bus due to the 6:00pm bus not showing." I was told by the Peter Pan employee that I could either take the 8:00pm bus or buy a ticket at another carrier and receive a refund at the ticket counted. This is where the first point of deceit crept in. I purchased another ticket for the 7pm Best Bus, and went to the Peter Pan ticket office frustrated with the whole situation. Instead of receiving the refund the ticket associate gave me a card with the customer service phone number. I immediately called the number and was told to wait a week to receive the refund. Four weeks and two customer service calls later, I was told that I could not receive a refund for the tickets as the company's system stated only "14 people had boarded the 6:30pm bus." This is a blatant lie, as the reason I couldn't board was because TOO many people were on the bus. REFUND REQUESTS #102190 and #102191 I'm not sure if this is a case of blatant deception or just pure ineptitude, but I would advise to never take this bus company or to trust anything any of its employees say. Peter Pan will deny you boarding, inconvenience your travels, "promise you a refund," and then subsequently deny your refund with patently false information. I'd give them zero stars if I could. I had to cancel a NY trip due to positive covid. Every other place I had "non refundable" tickets with canceled with a full refund. Broadway theater, hotel, and the rink at Rockefeller (which is an outdoor event and they still refunded). Peter Pan Bus charged $80 cancellation fee. In light of the circumstanced you'd think they'd be more reasonable and flexible. They have the worst customer service. They lost a customer and I will never recommend them to anyone! 40 min late to Logan airport today due to horrid traffic, not drivers fault, however this one driver who drove the 7 AM bus from Providence to Boston ( a trip I make at least twice a month, is rude, condescending and obnoxious to customers. Needs remedial customer service training. Have had good experiences with other drivers but this guy is a piece of work and needs an attitude adjustment. Some of the passengers are elderly, or non-English speaking or unfamiliar with routes and stops and he never misses a chance to be curt or condescending if asked a question. Again he is the exception not the rule, but I will think about taking the train, which is cheaper next time rather than have him try to ruin my morning. read more

If I could give it less than 1 star I would. Bought the ticket from the Peter Pan Bus site. My 19 year old son, who has never taken this line, was dropped off at the Wilmington Station, 35 minutes early. His father could not find a place to park to wait with him. The bus was due at 1:30. It never came. He and the other 20ish people waiting were told to take the next bus to Philadelphia and to catch the bus to NY from there. There was no guarantee there would be room on that bus. So we told him to take Amtrak to NY. Cost $118.00. When I called Peter Pan to complain they told me it was a Greyhound bus and there was nothing they could do even though I bought it through their web site. I had to get the refund from.Greyhound. Of course there were other issues with Greyhound. Even though I bought the ticket and used my e-mail address I can not file the complaint, my son has to. I personally recommend that both stink and to find other transport if possible. Both are awful. I would not trust any child or teenager in their care. I take the bus from DC to NY every month or so. I use this service although there are less expensive ones just because it's conveniently to Port Authority bus station and I don't have to trek all the way to 12th ave. The bus always departs on time and the drivers are friendly enough. One even let me on the bus with my luggage when I was late. I agree with all the other reviews. It's 2015!!! They NEED etickets asap. It's such a hassle and a waste of paper to print the ticket. Some of the buses are clean, comfortable and all the electronics work. Others are old, very dirty and the electrical sockets and wifi didn't work. The whole process needs updating from purchase to the boading process. I would recommend traveling during of peak hours because you can get a seat to yourself and make it to NYC without stopping in just 4 hours! Amazing. Rush hour travel is torture between being squeezed in next to a stranger and spending 6plus hours on the bus is just not worth it. Take the train if this is the case. read more

The bus driver was too mean to most of us (passengers). Im so sad because I've been traveling to new york with peter pan from Washington Dc about 4 years ago. One of rhe passengers was waiting for her family memeber to get out of the peter bus's office and the bus driver who was a female had an attitude towards the other passenger and could not stop for her to get into the bus. The bus driver started to being mean to everyone who said to her to please wait 1 minute for the other passenger to come inside the bus and she yelled at everyone and to conclude this passengers couldnt speak English! This is very unffair and mean from the bus driver i dont recommend peter bus for first option if you are looking to have a pleasant trip anywhere you are planning to go customer service sucks! read more

The driver was sexually explicit, vulgar, and rude during my wife and I's trip. Contacting customer support to file a complaint yielded acknowledgement but no tangible action. Horrible travel experience, never riding with them again. I can understand being late, some problems with ticketing.. etc.... but our driver was beyond rude -- picking fights, describing and miming bathroom practices in detail. read more

Bus was 30 minutes late. Bus was filthy with no working electricity poets or wifi. We had to return to the Damn bus station after driving for 20 minutes because "a passenger was boarded on the incorrect bus." WTF read more

This bus ride was terrible. My friend and I got yelled at by the driver repeatedly for having a quiet conversation between the two of us. Apparently no conversations are allowed at all on this bus line. Will never ride again read more
