This is the worst place I have ever been--the service, and the lack of humanity From the owner. They made me an insole in two minutes.

Zero stars. Went to Peter's Shoe in Greenacres on Nov 21 with a doctor's prescription for custom inserts. Peter took my measurements, a $200 deposit, and said 10 days. It's now the end of December--no inserts, no calls, no updates. I've called and left messages to cancel and received no response. Terrible customer service. If you're looking not only to save, but also to restore your favorites, pay Peter's a visit - you'll be glad you did. The little shop is sort of out of sight but take the time to find it. If you're a shoe lover like me, you know that a good cobbler is worth his/her weight in gold. I am really happy with the service I received here. I dropped off a pair of shoes for repair that a friend had borrowed and destroyed. The staff was friendly and helpful and provided a price quote before I left my shoes in their care. I have used the services of Pete's Shoe Repair ever since I moved to Lake Worth in 2013. Their people are very accommodating, their services are excellent and their prices are reasonable. They have repaired worn heels on men's shoes, fixed seams on luggage that began unraveling and re-stitched a brand new leather computer bag that had some straps that were separating. Had a great experience. My son is an avid basketball player and in the middle of his season he outgrew his orthotic causing pain. Peter understood the importance and had new orthotics made in record time. It was greatly appreciated and will be lifetime customer. read more

Simple re-heeling of a ladies' pair of mules. The material alone couldn't be more than a couple dollars so the rest was labor more than likely. Charge: $20. They charged me $20 for a repair that appeared to be done by a circus animal! The rubber heels were not trimmed down to match the heel itself, and there was glue and brown gunk all around the heel that wasn't even wiped clean! The clerk at the counter was embarrassed and advised I'd have to leave them and come back AGAIN another day because, "he already left for the day." I came back in a few days and they weren't much better - the rubber was trimmed down but the glue/gunk remained (as I discovered all over my white kitchen tile!). Absolutely NO pride in workmanship. None. Cost? Still $20. Never again. read more

First off, a business can not be established for over 25 years with next to no turn-around in staff and ownership, and be all the things mentioned below. I have known Peter and the employees for over 10 years and have always been treated with professional courtesy and honesty. Every time I bring in a repair; they let me know whether it is worth the money! They have never taken a shoe repair just for the money. The work always looks amazing. The man seriously works miracles. The repair is also usually done within the week. I have no complaints. :-) read more

This Greenacres business is so bad it is difficult to know where to begin. They return your shoes contaminated with black grease. Then they insult you and accuse you of bringing in dirty shoes. They they backtrack and say they cannot be cleaned. Then they dodge and say they can clean it for a fee! No sense of customer service, no honesty, no professional business savvy. I was extremely disappointed with the quality of the shoe repair work at this store. I brought in 4 pairs of shoes to have taps installed on the heels, which I thought was a fairly simple thing to ask for. The woman at the desk who said she was the owner was very rude when I said the taps they put on were not the right size and did not cover the worn area of the sole. When I showed the taps I had put on yesterday on another pair of the same style and brand of shoe at the Festival Flea Market she asked a man if that size was available. When he said yes she reluctantly said okay we will put those on if you want but you will have to come back in one hour. When I came back the new taps were on but the glue was all over the edge of the sole. The shoes I brought in were $280 Finn Comfort sandals and I expect my shoes and me to be treated with respect. After I questioned the sloppy work she told me not to come back again. After a few other rude comments including her telling me I'm not the kind of customer they want I agreed with her because they did not provide the type of customer service I expect and I would suggest staying clear of this place for any shoe repair work. From now on I will have all my shoes repaired quickly, neatly and cheaper at the Festival Flea Market. read more
