Since it's purchase from Ward's, the store has expanded its stock with a good selection of plumbing supplies, kept its fabulous supply of screws, nuts, bolts, O-rings, hooks, fasteners, plus lots of bird feeders and food. I really miss Ward's, the great hardware store that became Peter's last year. Ward's had great service, truly knowledgable staff, a wide selection of quality merchandise and a beautiful garden center. Peter's has a staff of teenagers who know nothing about their merch, let alone how to use it -- and gone are the days of a staffer walking you to the product, now you get a guess at an aisle number. the garden center is now full of the most gawd awful Tru Valu junk imaginable -- clearly Peter doesn't get that this is an area that prizes quality and uniqueness. i'm sure it made good business sense on paper to hire minimum wage staff, cut the products by half, force feed customers one brand and fill every corner with Dollar Store quality junk. I'm now looking for a new hardware store and garden center. maybe i'll drive to Brighton, Pinckney or Dexter where there are stores that still give a damn so will others. Sorry Peters. Terrible service! I am not one to write reviews, but in this case, I feel it is necessary. I called the store, asked if they had a product in stock. A girl put me on hold. She came back and said they had it in 2 different sizes. I said great; I'll be right there. I was there within 8 minutes. I went to the isle and it was not there. I went to the counter and told her I was the one who just called. She said hold on--while she did something behind the counter. The phone rang she answered it while I stood waiting. I went back to look again. They had something similar but now what I asked for. The girl came from around the counter, saw someone she knew and started talking with her. I walked back; now she is helping her friend and I am 3rd in line. She answers the phone again. A young guy finally asked if I needed something. He went over with me and confirmed the product was not there. This is about my 6th time of going to this business. The same thing happens every time. The phone rings and someone behind the counter ignores the waiting customers. Each time I had money to spend yet they ignore the people who made the trip to their business to answer questions on the phone for people who may not spend a penny with them. FOCUS ON THE PEOPLE THERE TO GIVE YOU MONEY! By the way, the girl had a mask but it did not cover her nose. The guy had a mask but it did not cover his mouth or his nose. It was on his chin. Poor service once is understandable but after 6 times its not an exception to the rule it is the way they do business. read more

I give them 1 star, because I can't give them 0. I rented a tent for my son's grad party from them. The crew that came to pick up the tent was rude to my wife from the first minute they came to pick up the tent, tables and chairs. they complained the entire time about having to work late and that they didn't want to work until 8:00. Then complained that our dogs urinated on the tent stake covers and such as they missed their pickup time by 7 hours from what they told me we were scheduled for, which we sprayed off. Then they to wanted to charge a very large extra charge to clean chairs etc.... unless we hand washed all of the chairs. This wouldn't have been as much of an issue if my wife didn't have to clean them when they dropped them off because they had dried pink drink all over them. They left without taking down the tent until the chairs and such were hand washed. The store management and ownership were just as rude. I'll never shop or rent from them again. read more
