The following day a "manager" from Chelmsford store called and I asked point blank will you handle a 100 pound dog with a muzzle that can't be removed. Answer- yes muzzles happen all the time, manager was pleased with me being upfront. I said so his head will not be touched. Response we can work around that. But since we are booked so far out put those in the notes when you make an appt. I did that in great detail only to find out day off appt no one reads any of that. I never got a call ahead or reminder of the appt I made 3 weeks prior. Unacceptable.I brought in my first dog 1030am signed all the forms for both dogs and was told I would get a call for the muzzled dog shortly his appt was noon. 10 mins of noon no call. I walk in with him and am immediately man handled by an ignorant manager who has no care in the world to be proactive in preventing an aggressive incident. She told me to remove the muzzle. I said no way. Do you not review appts on new dogs ever? No. I said give back my other dog 1.5 hours after he was handed over they had done nothing to him. I offered to pay and was told they don't want my business. 2 dogs needing to be groomed 30 weeks a year, Petsmart, this is your loss. Get retrained and fire your managers.

They have good deals, I always buy more than expected because they have some amazing coral at a good price. They stock live food and copepods, which I pick up every time I visit. This location does not seem to follow the national guidelines. Doggy day cares should have a minimum of 15 to 1 dog to boarder ratio based on active dogs. Most day cares are 10 to 1. Most Boston Dog locations have a minimum 20 to 1 ratio (possibly larger) which is too high unless all dogs are considered not active! What dog is not active, especially younger dogs? None! After having evaluated the Chelmsford location, I have decided that this location doesn't warrant a good review. The manager of Boston Dog Company at Chelmsford does not seem to really care about the dogs; it's a business, that's all. If you want a caring day care, don't go here.

Just dropped off our dog Zara at the new Chelmsford location for 2 nights of boarding and what a…read morenice new facility! They only board a few dogs at a time because each dog gets their own little room complete with a dog bed. Zara was a little anxious from the car ride but I know that she will be well cared for by Christine and Kent and get lots of walks & socialization. They will even be transferring her to their Wilmington location, which is where Zara normally attends daycare, on Monday morning. Thanks Boston Dog, as always, for taking such great care of our pup!
