Beautiful location perched up on top of the hill with expansive views of the valley, the river and the mountains. We happened to visit on a very pleasant weather day, it was actually warm and by the time we left, the wind was picking up but not in a cold, piercing way. The bright yellow umbrellas against the blue sky made for great ambience. The place was busy and there was live music as well. Our hostess was attentive and ensured that the wine tasting went smooth for our group. The owner, Pete did come by a couple times to check on our party. Really nice and humble guy, it reflects in the service. We liked the fact that the wines were mostly from local grapes. The hostess even pointed out vineyards from which the grapes came, they were right by the side of the hill for a couple of the wines. We did get the charcuterie board, I highly recommend it. This is a beautiful place with beautiful wines and beautiful people! The view up here is just phenomenal and Mike is such a gracious host. I went with a group and we learned all about the history of this land and how each wine is made. I'm not a huge wine person, mainly because of the bitterness in many wines, but Pete's Mountain pays extra special attention to their tannins which gives each of their wines a deliciously smooth taste. I also really enjoy how comfortable the setting is, it feels like you're right at home. I've been to pretentiously decadent wineries with snobby clubs, but this place is the exact opposite! With such a stunning location and perfectly curated wines, they absolutely have bragging rights but everyone is welcoming and the whole crew seems very down to Earth. To be honest I'm not much of a wine guy. I can dig some reds but don't ask me for recommendations on wine. What I can tell you is that this place was beautiful and the staff was amazing. Very attentive and even as we were leaving they walked out to ask us how are time was. Everyone was satisfied with our wines. I had the Haileys Block that was a barrel aged red blend. I tried everyone's and they were good. The view is amazing. I'm on vacation and don't know where we're looking down on but it was beautiful. They had live music with a girl on the piano. The Owner (I'm assuming) greeted us right away and was thankful we were there, thanked us for coming, supporting, taking our time to enjoy their wine and land. It was super friendly and made us feel really valued! The view was breath taking They had tables 6+ feet apart and were careful about making sure people could enjoy themselves without being too close. They have rotating wine flight tastings that are $20 a person for 4-5 wines. They give a short description and a good pour for a tasting. Enough to take it slow and enjoy it. If you buy 2 bottles of wine at the end, it covers the cost of the tasting price which is good incentive to buy your faves! We ended up buying two bottles of the Syrah it was that good! Wow!!!! Our best Oregon wine tasting experience by far! The combination of the view, the friendly people and great wines immediately turned us into fans! Up on the hill, the property and view was breathtaking. It was a bit cloudy so we didn't get the full Mt Hood effect, so that's a good excuse to go back soon! All of the 5 star reviews I read were spot-on. The people here are so friendly and we immediately felt right at home. Owners Mike and Kristy are great hosts. Our wine tasting was led by Jim, who is funny, knowledgeable and friendly too! When my wife told him we're not fans of Pinot Noir he got excited for the challenge. Which brings us to the cream on top - the wines! Everything we tasted we loved. Pinot Gris, Rose, Chardonnay, Cab and Syrah - we tasted and bought them all to take home. Oh, and Pinot Noir too! Once you arrive, you see the most beautiful views. The property is beautiful and very welcoming. We came about an hour and a half before closing, they had live music and it was pretty packed which is a good sign. Luckily there was a table available and we were greeted by such wonderful people. The table was nicely decorated and really felt warm and comforting. We got the wine tasting and it was truly wonderful. The woman pouring our wine was super insightful and informative. She answered all of our questions and was very friendly. We got the little cheese board - which by the way the cheese was AWESOME. And they had a Pinot noir caramel sauce which was delicious. The live music was also a really nice bonus. It's pretty small and crowded inside, I probably would have sat outside if it wasn't raining. Definitely a must visit if you are in the area. Beautiful privately owned winery in West Linn, OR! The property sits up on a hill overlooking Portland - such a gorgeous view. They are only open to the public on Sundays and have both indoor and outdoor seating options. The wines are delicious and they offer a charcuterie plate, but I would like to see a few more snack options (as a vegan there was nothing I could eat here), even just some crackers. read more

This was our first trip to Pete's Mountain! We arrived early and were the first to be seated for our time slot, but near the last to be served! The setting is beautiful, with a magnificent view of Mt. Hood. Unfortunately, as we heard the 2 on staff telling everyone, they were short staffed on this night! We did not receive service for nearly 30 minutes into what was supposed to be a 4:00 - 5:30 seating. We ordered 2 tasting flights and the gentleman that was assisting us was gracious and knowledgeable! The first wine, a Pinot Gris, was excellent! As a bonus, the 2nd tasting, a Chardonnay that was not on the flight list was also excellent! The 3rd, a Pinot Noir was also very good. We were prepared to buy 4 bottles to waive the tasting fees, but we never got to try the Cab or the Syrah since we waited another 45 minutes or so (to almost 6 PM) with no one ever coming to our table again. The young lady that was working hit every table but ours. The man that initially served us seemed to be working the other room. I finally slapped down a couple of Andrew Jackson's to cover our two tasting fees and we left a bit disappointed. 1) the wines we had were excellent; 2) the service we DID receive was excellent; 3) the service we DIDN'T receive is why this is a 3 Star vs a 5 Star review and also why we paid $40 vs leaving with $130 in wine; 4) we will try again and (as a former small business owner) I hope I can upgrade this to a 5 star review! read more

Well what a wonderful new local favorite. I wanted to support so had a friend pick up a Cab that they highly recommended. I am very picky, but trusted their referral. Oh my word - the best Oregon Cab I have had since moving from Calif. Working in the industry as a Wine Judge's Apprentice resulted in much education and tasting. This is a beautiful Cab and worth the price which is also hard for me to say. I can't wait to spend some time tasting the rest when we are able. Mike was wonderful to deal with, actually one of the nicest winery staff I have ever spoke with and so quick to respond to my wanting to mail a couple bottles to family/clients in Calif, they will get it two days after I got in touch and he shared the technique of the Pinot Gris (second bottle with Cab) that I included. Can't recommend Pete's enough! Sorry for the long post, but just very impressed. read more

Used to be a favorite place to enjoy a Sunday afternoon of wine and wonderful views. Recently had a not so pleasant experience and it wasn't handled very well. Not sure if this is a result of more completion in the area or not but it's no longer a staple my Sunday afternoons. Nice wine and ok atmosphere with some entertainment on Sunday afternoons. But if you are looking to buy and enjoy a bottle of wine on property for the afternoon they no longer will do this for you or any regulars. You still can buy a glass, but I always enjoyed having a glass and corking the rest for Sunday dinner. No longer an option sad to hear. read more

Actually have been to two wine tastings at Pete's mountain. Firstly the views from this apex are second to none. The wines are very nice and I have purchased two cases of Kristina's​ reserve which is my favorite Oregon Pinot. I strongly recommend that you visit the Mountain! We took our visiting daughter's family on a drive and stumbled onto this wonderful setting deciding to check it out; wow! what a beautiful view, the friendliest people, guitar music on a sunny day with approaching shadows, and best of all: delicious vines! My husband and I dropped by here the other day. The tasting room was darling, and the wines were delightful. My only complaint was that we had to wait a good 15 minutes between each pour because it was so crowded. Otherwise, nice place! My husband, I and another couple enjoyed a lovely tasting at Pete's Mountain Winery on April 2nd to celebrate my birthday. Our friends have visited before and knew we had to arrive right when they open to get a seat. Good thing we took their advice! The charming converted barn tasting room with wood slab tables filled up quick. Even though it was busy our host Jim took a few minutes to talk to us and make us feel welcome. All of the wines were lovely and our host gave a detailed explanation of each varietal.
