My husband asked me to go for a drive last month. It was a beautiful sunny day in Portland (yes a sunny day)! We got in the convertible and he took me for a drive. It was beautiful as we turned down the road turning and twisting down the road with the green sprawling fields! I loved it. The cutest barn and property was coming up on my left and to my surprise, we pulled in and we visited Oswego Hills Winery. The property is quaint and romantic. Big white barn. Rolling green lawns. Flowers and barrels along with inviting Adirondack chairs. We went in and the team at Oswego Hills was welcoming and I decided to do a flight tasting. I had a very whites and a few reds. They were all lovely! I have to say I enjoyed every bottle. I ended up purchasing a bottle of their Viognier. It was delicious and I am equally a rose, white and red wine lover. The venue itself is absolutely stunning. The grounds are beautiful, and the getting-ready suites were spacious, comfortable, and a wonderful place to spend the morning with the wedding party. From a purely aesthetic standpoint, this venue is exceptional. Unfortunately, the experience with the coordination team did not match the quality of the venue. There were several preventable issues that impacted the day. One guest table was completely missing during the reception and had to be requested during cocktail hour. Additionally, when timeline questions arose, the couple were told that the DJ should have been coordinating with the venue. While the DJ was not one of the venue's preferred vendors, we felt that facilitating communication between vendors is a fundamental responsibility of a wedding coordinator, regardless of whether those vendors are on a preferred list. There was also a cultural tradition incorporated into the celebration that had been discussed with and approved by the venue in advance. The tradition created dust on the floors and carpet, and the couple apologized and expressed their willingness to cover any necessary cleaning or repair costs. Rather than approaching the situation collaboratively, they received an email afterward that felt unnecessarily harsh and focused solely on this issue, without acknowledging the coordination challenges they experienced throughout the planning process and on the wedding day. This venue has so much potential because the property itself is truly beautiful. However, I believe the coordinators would benefit from additional training in event management, communication, professionalism, and client service. Weddings are significant milestones, and couples should feel supported, respected, and confident that the details they have entrusted to the venue will be handled with care. If you're considering this venue, I would highly recommend it for its beauty. I would also encourage future couples to ask detailed questions about the coordination services provided and to clearly establish expectations in advance. read more

Surprisingly, I've never been here for a wine tasting, but I've attended two weddings here and it's a lovely, picturesque setting for such a momentous occasion. The gazebo where the bride and groom take their vows is the perfect focal point with the vineyards in the backdrop. They set up chairs on either side of the walkway and the only downside is if it's a hot day (yesterday was 92) the guests are melting in the hot sun. No way to predict the weather! The huge benefit is if it rains, they do move the festivities inside so that eliminates stress for the bride knowing there is a plan b. Inside is a bright, light filled room with high ceilings and an area for dancing. There is not much seating so if you are in need of a chair, get there early. The staff was fantastic as was the caterer. The food was perfection. From the chicken skewers, heirloom tomato bruschetta and massive charcuterie during the cocktail hour, to the buffet dinner, everything was flavorful and perfectly cooked. No dry chicken! For dinner they served grilled salmon, the best I've ever had! Living in Portland, I've had a lot! you The salmon was fresh and whatever seasoning they used, made it shine. The flank steak was so tender, it melted in your mouth, and also had an exquisite flavor profile. Wish I could get the recipe for both! The huge salad with fresh peaches, blueberries and goat cheese was the perfect accompaniment. Also roasted veggies, a variety of bread and rolls, and mac & cheese, requested by the groom. If you are lucky enough to be there during a sunset, it's magical. While everyone was inside dancing, I snuck outside to watch the performance of the sun casting various shades or orange and pink in the sky. Now to the logistics. There are two entrances to the parking lot, the second takes you to the overflow area which is closer to the inside venue. Since I'm using a cane (post surgery) I chose this area to park. After you park you have to walk across an area of small gravel making it challenging to navigate if you are using a cane, a wheelchair or have mobility issues. After I made my way inside, I noticed a paved area in front of the covered outdoor sitting area with a few parking spots. Wish I had known this before parking and walking inside. Once you navigate this area, there are paved walkways to the gazebo, including an ADA access walkway, and a paved sidewalk to the bathrooms which are in a separate building. Came here for a friends wedding a few days ago and I love the location as it's secluded and there's nothing but countryside as it should be for a winery but the views and everything was great given the weather during the wedding lights showers but still beautiful. The staff that worked there are friendly and accommodating and the ambience was great and so was the scenery as I mentioned. I highly recommend coming here and trying the wines as they are delicious. Our daughter and her husband were married at Oswego Hills Winery last Fall. The people and the venue made for a truly magical event - as described by many of the guests. The entire experience exceeded our expectations beyond belief. After tasting their wine, I quickly chose to sign up for their wine club. Our favorites are the Petit Syrah, the Tempranillo, and the Sauvy B, but we have yet to taste anything that wasn't great. Fantastic find on a random Saturday afternoon. Beautiful estate with amazing staff. Definitely not kid-friendly and that's fine by me -- I want to enjoy other adults' company and have a calm, peaceful quiet afternoon while drinking alcohol! I'm glad I didn't have to witness someone's unsupervised kids causing chaos and defacing the property, such as the complaint from a previous reviewer who was appalled the staff and other customers were annoyed with her impudence. This is definitely not a place to bring children and maybe not dogs because I didn't see any water bowls out like you might see at other wineries and breweries. Lots of fragile stuff inside the tasting room plus lots of rocky terrain in the parking lot and toward the lawn for seating. If you're in a wheelchair or have mobility issues, there is a paved area right in front of the covered outdoor sitting area where you can park, plus some handicapped parking spots in the overflow parking area. It may be hard to traverse the gravel otherwise. The bathrooms are also outside of the tasting room in a separate building but there's a paved walkway and adequate room to navigate them. The staff are so friendly and very knowledgeable. The woman helping me seemed to know just what I would like based on my preferences and what I thought about some of the samples. I also learned about their beloved late winery cat, Monty, who is immortalized on a bottle of sparkling rosé and had another series ("Orphan") named for him. While I'm a Cabernet fan, I really enjoyed the whites that I sampled and felt the Petit Sirah was the best red. Wasn't a fan of the 2020 Marechal which, as it was explained to me, absorbed a smoky flavor from that summer's wildfires and it was very obvious on the nose and tongue. But I enjoyed most everything else I sampled and it was compelling enough to take a lot of bottles home! I was also really glad to find a place that makes a cab, since so many wineries focus a lot on Pinot noir. The tasting fee is $15 for six samples and will be waived if you buy 6 bottles of more. They also offer discounts on purchases of 4 bottles or more -- I got six bottles for 15% off. Pretty great deal for local wine! read more

Appreciate the family-friendly feel and the giant lawn and the wines are very good. We like to sometimes just stop in for a glass of wine on a nice day or maybe a few with friends. Membership is the way to go. Deep discount and it pays for itself. Charcuterie plate is special and so is the service. The back lawn is private and they make everyone feel welcome. There were a bunch of families and dogs, an overall very appealing, relaxing and inviting atmosphere. The tastings are the cheapest i've seen. for $15 you get to try 6 of their wines, so you can't beat that price. The service was also lovely. Everyone was friendly and helpful. a family-run business. CONS: The wine was unfortunately not at all to my liking. i tried 4 of their wines, took a couple sips and tossed the rest and didn't even get the remaining 2 tastings as it just didn't seem worth it. The rest of our group felt the same way. (for reference, i drink a lot of wine and taste at a lot of wineries and it is very rare for me to dump each of the tastings). They do not have water available either. you can buy a plastic bottle of water, which was a bummer to see the plastic waste versus having a water fountain or something to refill a bottle or cups. read more

Our family has been going to this incredible winery for over 15 years. Our daughter had her wedding on the beautiful lawn with the exquisite surroundings. Our son had his rehearsal dinner in their wonderful event center. The entire family who runs the winery are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and have always made us feel like we are part of the family. Not very kid friendly. Got a lot of glares for having 4 toddlers there playing around. Also lots of comments. We felt like a burden the whole time. Beautiful property and perfect for kids but the staff definitely expects tamed kids who will sit and watch a screen I'm guessing. Not our adventurous, explorers. staff took issue with the kids using chalk on the concrete, offered to clean it up and was told the water was shut off, despite repeated offers to clean it up was made to feel uncomfortable. We should have asked first but the way we were treated because of it was just extra. Multiple staff members came out and made comments about it shaking their head in anger. Super awkward. I visited this winery before reading the reviews. I wanted to enjoy a fresh experience, untainted by others opinions. Most all of the wines were sweet. Chardonnay tasted absolutely nothing like a Chardonnay. Described as a honey crisp apple. I can agree with that. I can definitely see this as a summertime wine. Too sweet for my palate. That was the issue for most all wines on the menu board. Too much sweet. The merlot was the closest we came to an earthy wine. They do have a charcuterie board for $20. This is a nice touch. We enjoyed one. We arrived a little after 3 pm on Saturday. We sat inside at a small table. It's nice that there is both inside and outside seating. The location enjoys views. I went here on a whim for a little solo wine tasting. I don't like leaving reviews that are negative unless the service was particularly bad, and this wasn't bad. It's just the experience was awkward and cold, both physically and energetically. I got the sense that the folks didn't want to be there. Which transposed onto me. As I was the only client there at that moment. So I tried to engage and ask questions, chilly still in my coat and hat. The wines I tasted were nice, but the last one was not one I wanted to keep drinking even in the small taste. But there was no polite place to spit and refresh my palate. I realize this next part is not about their business per se, but I feel that I must add that I was heartbroken by their very old, friendly barn cat who seemed to need medical attention. I hope they took him to the vet, if nothing else than to get him some painkillers. Domestic animals are tough, but they rely on their humans for compassionate care. This is hands down my favorite winery. The wine is excellent and they have many varieties to choose from. My favorites are the Petite Syrah, Pinot Reserve and Cab. Really I like all of their reds and they have several! Not a fan of red wine? No worries - they have several white wines and a great port as well! The staff is amazing and the property is beautiful! They usually sell cheese and crackers plus some different chocolates and hazelnuts. I love the chocolate covered hazelnuts the best. If you are wanting something else bring your own. They also have a beautiful event center! This is great for anything from meetings to weddings. We love the staff that work at this family owned winery and vineyard. On select long weekends such as Memorial Day they are open from Noon until 5. Other weekends it is the same time but only on Sundays. My husband and I were wine club members, but dropped it when we moved from Tualatin to Newberg last year. They are only open for a few hours on Sundays, so it was unlikely we would go our of our way for limited hours when there are so many equally good wineries much closer to us. If you live close to the winery, it is very family oriented, a great place to bring kids and relax. read more

Came here on a beautiful day and opted to do the $25 tasting of all the wines. Tastings were pretty small, but I guess we did taste 19 wines so it was alright. The family was pretty nice despite the oldest woman who truly believed my friends and I were underaged, we thought she was kidding but kept a chip on her shoulder the whole time. The other family members could not have been kinder and engaged in conversation each time we came in for tastings. Gorgeous setting, able to bring your own food, fun spot to walk around. I enjoy exploring new wineries and have been to many, many all over Oregon. This is the worst winery I have ever been to. This winery has absolutely no personality and all they do is pump out wine without any sense of pride whatsoever. I went there on a Sunday and was herded through by the winemaker and his mother. This is the first time I've been served tastes by the winemaker who doesn't say anything about the wine. He had nothing to say. The taste menu was something like 15 wines, which is great if you are looking to get buzzed. The wine tasted like vinegar and it was obvious that they just make any and all wine that they can, regardless of quality. On top of it, they're rude and seem to want you to leave as soon as possible. This place is a disgrace to Oregon wine. read more

I went to this winery on a whim. I had driven by it many times and it is close to home but I never stopped. I had tried their wine before and was impressed but I never stopped in because I expected outrageous tasting and wine prices. We stopped in yesterday and were pleasantly surprised. This place is gorgeous. The two owners and the wine maker were the ones pouring the wines. They were extremely friendly and inviting. They poured about 8 wines with no tasting fee. The wine was priced very reasonable especially for the great quality. The tasting room was beautiful and big. This would be great on a rainy day and the covered crush pad would be perfect for a nice sunny day. I highly recommend this winery. The normal cozy atmosphere is missing and replaced by a loud and obnoxious music ensemble. A real detractor from the wine and setting. Most of the guests yesterday sought refuge in the covered area outside of the normal tasting room remarking that the music was horrible and way too loud!With that said take a Sunday afternoon and discover this wonderful jewel in our own backyard. read more
