We recently visited Petland in Batavia and had the opportunity to meet and spend one-on-one time with an adorable Cavapoo puppy named Cheeto. He was incredibly sweet, playful, and affectionate, and we appreciated being given private time to interact with him. The staff allowed us to get to know Cheeto without any pressure to make a purchase, which we appreciated. Ultimately, we decided not to move forward with bringing him home due to the $3,900 price tag plus tax. We later learned that Cheeto was purchased by another family the following day. While we're sad we didn't get to bring him home, we're happy he found a family. We hope Cheeto enjoys a long, happy, healthy life and receives all the love and care he deserves. read more

This establishment sold me a sick dog and when I called to talk to the shop owner, they refused to let me talk to her. They said she's too busy and has too many other things to do to call me back. Nice way to run a business. They are taking no responsibility for any of the problems associated with this dog and pretty much told me I was SOL. They said use the Warranty provided and failed to realize that the vet I have to use is a two hour round-trip from my house and will not concede to use any other vet closer to my house. Petland Batavia sold me a sick contagious dog. Dog was purchased and had kennel cough that was so far along it turned pneumonia. Petland and their "warranty" will not cover any care outside of a basic medication that this dog needed to get better and breathe. very disappointed and feel this is unethical that they will not pay for a sick dog they sold. I bought an expensive dog for here. I was given a large packet of guarantee with her including all the things that Petland covers expenses for if I take her to their assigned vet within 3 days. It was determined by the vet that she had ear mites and also a bacterial infection. The vet said I had to pay upfront and then file a claim for reimbursement which I thought was wrong since this was the vet Petland told me to go to. I then had to go thru the process of filing claims for the mites and infection. I was only reimbursed for the medication to treat the problems but not for the testing which was more expensive than the medications to find out she had these problems when I purchased her. I was also given a certificate for half-off to get her sprayed. I asked the vet how much it would be with my discount certificate. The vet said that Petland certificate does NOT pay for the post pain injection, medication needed, collar, waste fees, IV, etc. The certificate clearly reads "This certificate entitles the owner purchased from Petland to receive 50% off a spray/neuter from any of the partner veterinary clinics." Also, the 2nd night I had her she was very sick. They gave me an emergency # to call that was open24/7 to any issues. When I called the #, I got a recording they were closed and only open during regular business hours till 6pm. Everything they told me was a lie. I love my puppy but Petland is a total scam of all the promises they tell you that you get! They should have a zero rating. read more

I don't know how pet stores that sell puppies are still around but I went in this Petland today out of curiosity and left completely appalled. Where do I start? The cages were overfilled with puppies and it was so dirty. There was one cage in particular with 2 goldens and a golden doodle where the doodle pooped and then tried to go to the other side of the cage where the other two dogs were and one golden then had to move to the other side and attempt to lay on this blue grate that ended up sliding into the doodles poop. Another cage had two large breed dogs that looked malnourished and BOTH were trying to get their tongues through the grates (where pee and poop is supposed to fall) to reach foot that must've spilled when they were eating breakfast. It was disturbing and so sad. Let's next move onto the staff. I believe I counted about 6 people "working". I put quotes around working because when I looked around in the 5 minutes I was there I saw soooo much work that could be done rather than them just chatting with each other. #1 would be cleaning out the cages where these animals are forced to sit/lay everyday. The quality of life for these dogs is so sad. Stuck somewhere between go buy these dogs to give them a better life & don't go here so maybe the store will shut down and no more animals will be forced to live in these conditions. read more

i bought my dog 3 months ago and it has been horrible. not even 2 weeks of having my dog he was having diarrhea non stop. i had to bring him to the vet and the vet told me that he had parasites. they sent me home with medicine that did not work and i had to go back to get another dose of the same medicine. thats where i had to pay more bills and the issue was not resolved. i kept having to go back, so i finally decided to change vets thinking the first vet didnt know what he had. when i saw my dog pooping blood, i got scared and rushed him to the animal hospital. they told me that he wasnt the breed that petland told me he was AND petland lied about his age. they also told me that two customers have returned him previously and they made up a lie saying that the previous owners had dogs and didn't like him, NOW i understand why they sold him so cheap. they told me to call this number to find out if i can get this money back and they told me "no they couldn't do nothing about it", now i got have a sick dog and more bills are piling up. stay away from this place they are selling sick dogs read more

PetLand in Bativia Illinois ~ I purchased an 11wks female Goldendoodle (on 08/26/2023 end of day. When I was driving home there was green mucus discharging from her nose. I didn't think anything of it because I just thought it was from the bath they had just given her. I spent the night with her coughing, sneezing and mucus out of her nose. she had no appetite nor was very active I puppies sleep but she sure slept. I called the following day Paw Solutions because I could not get one of their "four day clinic" required to see her right away they told me I would have to wait till Monday I called early morning and out of the five locations only one was able to see her today. Carriage Animal Hospital (5 star). Luckily I took Sofia Louise, she wouldn't had chance (10% survival) because she had pneumonia the Doctor took X-ray and we're able to give her a treatment also given her prescribe antibiotics for 28 days with a follow up in two weeks. I am want to say I am truly upset, disappointed in total disbelief with PetLand, Bativia IL "compassion" I am a "repeat customer" I have another five-year-old male Golden-doodle as well and their sense of concern was she's covered under 21 day warranty. they act you just brought a used TV ~ I also paid $3900 for her so I expect a perfect family pet when I walked out of there and that's not what I came out with. They had to know she was ill and yet still sold her for the profit they would be making. I have videos of her throughout the night coughing, sneezing following day the same thing I'm disappointed that they feel like they don't owe my family any repercussion/compensation for selling me a pet I most likely believe that they knew was il. So my thought for those of you purchasing a pet and thinking of going to PetLand Bativia, IL think about it again the compassion that they have for dogs "as they say they do" is actually BS! The dogs are cute. But there cages were dirty. I felt bad for the dogs. There shop was dirty.

We purchased our Doxie from here a couple of months ago and they stated he had been neutered. Well his balls dropped last week and instead of them just taking care of this, we have to prove he wasn't neutered. How about a photograph of my dog's tiny doxie balls? Will that be enough proof? Nope. We have to take him to our vet and have our vet certify that he wasn't neutered as well. Well clearly, there are balls there so.....yeah. Your proof is that he still has balls. That should have been enough. So we do that anyways, and NOW we have to take our dog to one of their vets (one of their vets who certified he WAS ALREADY NEUTERED) to get the procedure done. You know, mistakes happen. And on top of this they charged me double as well so we had to get that straightened out. But this is stupid. Really, just time-wasting and annoyingly stupid. I bought the dog under the premise he had already had this done, and he hadn't. OBVIOUSLY. BECAUSE YOU CAN SEE HIS LITTLE DOXIE BALLS. So just make it right, would you? Sold us a sick dog, we have fought and fought and fought to get things covered by them. The dog was sick and should have never been sold. We have had her for two months, she has become part of our family, we and my children love her, and then you guys tell me yesterday that "you can return her and we will refund you your money and rehome her", or "keep her and you guys will be responsible for her medical bills." Then, the CS Rep flat out denies me filing a claim on 5/23/24, even though the Vet spoke to the owner of Petland regarding this, and she instructed them to inform me to call you their warranty place to file another claim. They were told that she would call to ensure a smooth transition for me so I have no issues like I did before. I called CS and this is what I was told and I quote, "You can return her and we will refund you your money and rehome her"? So they will take the sick dog back, and give her to another family knowing this dog is as sick as she is? Sooo, you would deceive another family? LOL. Ya, Or, you guys would euthanize the poor dog because you obviously think dogs are disposable. The vet even noted how sick this dog was three days after our purchase. SHE WAS SICK IN YOUR CARE BEFORE WE EVEN GOT HER. It isn't about wanting to get a rid of the dog, its about Petland and their warranty place owning up to their mistake of selling sick dogs to people. I wish I could give this place 0 stars.. This place needs to be shut down, period. I came here with my husband yesterday and I was absolutely disgusted.. almost all of the employees were either on their phones or joking around while the dogs were sleeping or sitting on their feces.. it was so heartbreaking to see. They stick over 2 to 3 dogs together in the same cage along with big dogs as well. There is feces everywhere in the cages along with smears from their drool or something they're wiping themselves on the windows with... I saw one Cavalier that was in a cage with two others and they were biting and being aggressive towards the Cavalier. I felt terrible and you could tell this dog was beyond afraid. I asked the employee if I could see him and she said "You have to make an appointment online or step outside of the store and call to make one." We were literally the only people in the store... Absolutely unreal. I felt so terrible for this dog that I did it super quickly and the employee went and got the Cavalier. My husband and I played with him for a bit and we immediately noticed he smelled like poop and was so dirty.. the dog kept crying as well and we noticed his stomach was abnormally bloated and he couldn't walk properly with his back legs... Every time I would try to look for an employee, they were all joking around and on their phones. I found this dogs well-being so disturbing. Also, how can you price these dogs at almost $5k and expect people to pay this? There's clearly something wrong with these dogs.. I left so sick to my stomach and I can't imagine just that one dogs health and outcome. PLEASE do not support this store. Their puppy cages are TOO SMALL and full of poop. They keep 4 puppies in a cage that's about 10 sq feet. My 2 Guinea pigs have a bigger cage!!! The puppies are sleeping in poop, have no chew toys so are forced to chew plastic walls, are fighting due to high energy/lack of space/play time (in turn unable to rest because other dogs are trampling them) and have no beds to sleep on. they're drinking water out of rabbit water bottles???? $3600 PUPPY TO $9000 PUPPY!! On February 4, 2022, my daughter purchased a chihuahua puppy from Petland Batavia. She was given a certificate showing the dog was examined by a veterinarian and was supposedly healthy. The exam paperwork showed the test for the parasites giardia and coccidia was not given. Two days after she purchased the puppy, she took him to Countryside Veterinary Center in Countryside, IL, which is an approved Petland vet. He was diagnosed with coccidia and giardia. The dog had diarrhea and was vomiting, so my daughter took him back to Countryside Veterinary Center and they gave him treatment for the parasites. Since they could not supervise him overnight and she had to work until 10 pm, they advised her to take him to Veterinary Emergency Group in Chicago where they kept him overnight for further treatment and to make sure he did not have seizures. She had to take him to VEG for another night before he finally began to improve. One reason the dog could not be left alone was because he only weighed 2 lbs and was a little over 4 months old. If my daugher had known the dog was riddled with parasites, she probably would not have purchased him. She filed a claim for the emergency treatment with Solutions pet insurance that was given to her when she purchased the dog. Of course, the claim was denied. My daughter would like the purchase price of the dog, $3600, applied towards the enormous vet bills she had to pay in order to restore the dog to health. The dog didn't get coccidia/giardia from her apartment. She doesn't have other animals. He got it at Petland and the fact they don't test for those is negligent on their part. Through this entire ordeal, all they have said is "Sorry." We have to wonder how many other unsuspecting people have taken home infected puppies and have had to pay vet bills to clear up these infections? I don't believe it is a fair or just thing that my daughter has had to spend an additional $5000 to finally have a healthy puppy. Petland Batavia most certainly has some responsibility in this. Bought my Shiba Inu - Female on January 4 2024 . She is extremely sweet absolutely no issues with her she had her exam with a vet and perfect health. Had her rabies shot and her first Lyme shot she will be getting her second Lyme shot next Wednesday. Had her poop sample as well came out negative . Absolutely no issues with her . Went to look at a French bulldog, the first girl perfectly fine to let us take it out and then the dummy with glasses goes "you can only take this dog out of your ready to go home with him today". My girlfriend and I have been looking at frenchies for ever and have considered to get one multiple times but I just thought it was very unprofessional to pretty much tell me we can take a dog out unless we're buying it. Wouldn't recommend anyone to go here either the dogs are in a 2x2 cell where they look like there in a holding cell, also they looked miserable. First of all, let me say I'm really ticked off, the reason for the detailed review, after buying a dog from these people 14 days ago. I should have read the Yelp reviews before spending almost $3000 for a dog that I know know has parasites and other health issues. (I explain later in this post). From the shaky start, I should have taken that as an omen. The sales girl forgot to apply the down payment to the balance when picking up the dog. I caught it - she didn't. When I showed her the mistake, her response was to try to give me a store credit instead of my over payment back. One would have thought that she would have said, "Oh my goodness...I'm so sorry." She said nothing. I now also understand that they don't say or explain much of anything that might mess up the sale. I found out the hard way on the wonderful sounding "guarantee" language etc. You will have 10 pages of contract / stuff that looks like you're saving money etc....but that's totally bogus sales fluff. I guess I should have had my attorney read it first....but obviously that couldn't happen. It's so obvious looking back that their salespeople are commission based....their underlying motivating factor. They will say whatever it takes to get the sale. Let me add that the sales person forgot to give me my pet cage when leaving the store, so I had to drive back to get it. At that point....I was just hoping for a healthy dog and we'd be done with Petland. That didn't happen either. My new dog's health bills are adding up (parasites / tests for other concerns etc.) and it's only been 2 weeks. I am heading back to the vet right after I write this for more tests to see if the parasites are gone...and other concerning issues to check. So I called Petland today because I needed their help with how to handled these "covered" issues. A girl named Ashley said, "Call this 877 number, they handle these things...nothing I can do. They are called Pet Solutions" WHAT???? That's the best a Petland employee can do after I paid 3 grand? Push me off to a 3rd party vendor? With little choice, I called the number they gave me. This health "guarantee" I was told I have at the purchase counter. Well....I now know that this guarantee is also pretty much worthless. The vet says my dog is sick. I have paid hundreds of dollars just 2 days after I bought the dog to have tests given to determine the problem. I will have more vet bills today as I'm headed that way to see why my dog (I've now had for just 16 days) continues to not look healthy. Anyone that has a pet knows that the big bills are the treatment and diagnosis to find out what's wrong. They will not pay for that. They will pay for the medicine...which is $15. So let's just look at the whole picture here. I paid $3000 for a pet on November 25th. Petland got their money...Petland staff paid their commissions...and I'm on my own with a sick dog...no help at all from the store, and almost no coverage from their Pet Solution guarantee policy. I could (so could you) have paid far less for this same breed of dog by looking at other options. I paid the higher price because I thought I was getting more than just a dog handed to me at the purchase. Well...that's all I got...a dog handed to me...and the extra dollars paid...gone...and counting. Stay far far far away from this place. There is a reason they have a lousy Yelp rating before I am writing mine. If I could give a zero star...I would. $3000 is not a small amount of money to get someone to pay for a pet, especially a sick one. PS Let me add that I purchased 2 dogs (all the same breeds) 13 years ago from a different Petland store, so I'm not a rookie with Petland. But in those 13 years, they have changed so far to the bad. The price has tripled from 13 years ago and the added vet benefits etc are no longer worth anything. One that they claimed was a Golden Retriever (I'm sure it wasn't), just laid there licking drips from a rabbit water bottle. Most cages had so much feces in the grate they are on. Before I knew about the horrors of puppy mills I begged my parents for Figaro, my silly bean, male chihuahua, back in high school. I love him so very much but to know the truth about where these puppies come from is truly appalling. No, I did not have a bad experience, however, having talked to a former employee you must realize that the goal is making a sale. There is commission to be had and who doesn't like a little extra spending money? Petland has "prided" themselves with using USDA licensed breeders. This means that the breeders meet the minimum standard for what is acceptable, which in reality, is appalling to the average human being. I am a local Humane Society volunteer and can tell you first hand there are plenty cute puppies, pure breeds, and down right wonderful animals at your local shelter. I am not going to shove my beliefs down your throat and say don't go to a breeder but I beg of you to do your homework first and make sure they are humane, caring individuals. When you buy an animal from Petland you are not saving or adopting it. You are simply lining the pockets of the company and giving puppy mills the ability to stay in business. My girlfriend and I were looking to purchase the french bulldog this pet land had and when we walked in we saw that this was By far the worst Petland we have ever visited. The staff members were standing around talking to each other and when asked to take the French bulldog that my girlfriend wanted out, we were told we couldn't. No explanation what so ever. So we continued to look around and saw that they had a German Shepard. I then asked if we could take it out to meet it, again I was told no. With no explanation. The puppy's were rolling around in their own feces and didn't look their very best. I was given very poor customer service, very disappointed by the staff. Myself and other costumers continuously ignored.

First of all let me say the beagle we purchased 3 weeks ago is absolutely beautiful. That said this is a 3000.00 dog that was sick when we brought him home. He had a parasite that I am still medicating him for at my own expense and he developed a cough 2 nights after bringing him home. Now I know they say that if you take them to their vets they will cover the costs. So after cleaning up the bloody poop I called to make an appointment and said I will bring in a poop sample and asked will this be covered? I was told no even though this was an urgent situation. So I called petlands hotline they told me take the poop to my vet see if there is a problem and then go to their vet and they would probably cover it. I am sorry I have a sick dog here that needs immediate treatment so at this point I just want to get the dog help so I have been going to my own vet at my own expense. Let me also add that they have a very limited number of vets to use. I then called petland again to let them know that the parasite is very contagious and they probably have a bunch of sick puppies on their hands. They did not seem to care. Please, I am begging you, do not purchase a puppy from Petland Batavia. We went to the store "just to look" and ended up falling in love with a miniature Australian shepherd. A few days later, she was still there - so we went in with the whole family and ended up taking her home. On our first visit, I was told she had had a "runny nose." Because of this, she apparently had to be isolated from the other dogs, and she was 5 months old, so that's why she was on clearance for $1550. Upon purchasing the dog, we were told the "runny nose" was actually PNEUMONIA - but we were assured time and time again that it had been cleared days ago by the vet. We took the baby home, and after a great FOUR hours, she started having obvious breathing difficulties. She was struggling to get a full breath in and was obviously uncomfortable. This was a Saturday night - please be warned that Petland agrees to cover vet visits only from their "licensed clinics" (AKA clinics where they pay veterinarians to say the dog is fine in exchange for directing their business to the vet). Well, turns out none of these vets were open when the dog was having extreme breathing difficulties and wouldn't make it through the night. We took her to an emergency veterinary care hospital, where she had to spend multiple nights as a result of PNEUMONIA and we had to spend THOUSANDS of dollars. Obviously the Petland veterinarians cannot be trusted if somehow our puppy was "cleared" of her pneumonia when actually it was severe and would have been fatal had we not adopted her that exact day. We had the dog at home for a few hours before this happened. To top it all off, Petland employees knew we had another dog at home and also knew the pneumonia this dog had could potentially be contagious to our OTHER animal. Had we not adopted her that day, this poor dog would have DIED IN A PETLAND CAGE OVERNIGHT. Tess spent two days and nights in the hospital, and had to spend the two following days at the vet for observation and nebulizer treatments. Despite Petland's neglect, she is doing much better and (fingers crossed) she should make a full recovery. With that being said, this has taken an immense mental toll on our family. Tess is now terrified of the car because she thinks we are going back to the vet, and there rest of us are traumatized and have lost sleep over this situation and staying up all night with her to make sure she is OK. One last note - these puppies no question come from puppy mills. They'll tell you that your puppy comes from some great and reputable breeder. We were told our dog's "breeder" was a man named Eli King from Indiana. If you google Eli King, you'll find him on a list of 100 WORST United States PUPPY MILLS as identified by the Humane Society!!!!!!! Petland's solution to our Tess being sick was to return her, they would take care of her, and then we could buy her back. Something tells me Tess wouldn't have made it-because if they paid for her care Petland would have made a profit off of our puppy. These soulless people really expect you to be fine with returning an animal you have accepted into your home and fallen in love with, and make no mistake, they will euthanize it as soon as you give it back. This store is a business to them - they are completely negligent when it comes to the animals and only care about putting money in their pockets. There are so many amazing breeders out there who love their animals and take great care of them, and so many animals at shelters who need homes. Please please please, don't buy from Petland. Do the right thing, I wish I did. It would have saved a lot of stress, time, guilt, heartbreak, and money. PS: If you're still not sure, do some research on Petland itself. They have been under multiple investigations by the Humane Society-most recently, puppies at a Kentucky location were infected with a disease that got HUMANS sick. They would have let this little girl leave without her purchase, so I exchanged her money for paper money. Then Brittany would not let me see the dog I really wanted to see. BEWARE OF PETLAND PRODUCT RETURN POLICIES. My experience today taught me to NEVER again do business with this outfit, not even buy a bag of dog treats. I have a 10 mo old cavapoo that likes to chew. I've gone thru a couple cheap big box store dog harnesses (I prefer walking her with a harness as the pull is on her chest, not her throat) and she got a hold of them and chewed the cheap plastic fasteners used today to fasten the harness. So I web searched and found a good old fashioned harness with ALL METAL HARDWARE made by Coastal (and the Coastal website said it was available at this store, but it was not) - a harness like this Enhanced Strength Tru-Fit Dog Car Harness attaches to vehicle seatbelt system with carabiner or seatbelt loop *****Steel Construction Dog Harness Buckle.***** I was told, quite condescendingly, that she never heard of a metal buckle. Maybe because what Petland has in their leash/collar/harness section is the cheap harness with the PLASTIC CHEWABLE BUCKLES. My 15 lb dog was right with me, so the associate saw her size. She went in the back of the store. Now at this time, I also had my 67 lb border collie with me as well as my little dog, plus my purse, etc., and my cavapoo was afraid of the loud parrot screeching in the back of the store. She came back with the Holt harness (which is basically a nylon rope harness, no straps or padding). But I saw all the metal circles...yet failed to see the cheap keeper ring (which adjusts the fit of the harness)...WAS PLASTIC!!!!! My oversight, but her mistake in presenting this Holt harness to me, when I specifically said I wanted no plastic on it. Then when I got home and put it on my 15 lb cavapoo---it was too big! Pulling the plastic keeper ring down far enough made the leash ring so long it dragged on the floor. Definitely not the right item for my dog. I took it off and placed it on a table near my purse, to be returned, and of course, when I'm not looking my chewer pulled it off the table and chewed the plastic keeper ring. I was asking for a refund because #1 it was too big, and #2 it had a plastic part and my puppy chewed it the first night, before we ever took a walk with it on her. The price was only $17.99. A notable amount for me, but not for this franchise. "We can make no exception to our return policy." Yes you could. But profit supersedes customer satisfaction. And Petland makes their money off the outrageous price of (what I believe to be puppy mill dogs) and could care less about customer satisfaction. I will caution friends about my experience with this Batavia IL Petland and I will never walk into that store again. I notice 14 other customers who took the time to publish their dissatisfaction on Yelp collectively gave Batavia Illinois Petland 2 stars. So I'm not alone. They sell sick puppies! My dog that we spend big money on was tested positive for two virus' called Coccidia and Giardiasis. They claim a vet checks out the puppies every Wednesday which is clearly wrong. Before my new dog had met our other ones, she was taken to the recommended vet the very next day after purchase. We were told a couple days after her vet visit that she had those viruses. Now my other dog has one of the virus' due to it being very contagious after them meeting just once. Their policy only covers the dog they sold you so if any other dog is infected, they won't cover to treat them. Also, the staff there is miserable and can't answer questions directly. read more

Called and made an appointment to meet a puppy and everything was great on the phone. They said they would call me if anything else happened, so I wouldn't have to drive all that way. Low and behold, I show up and the puppy is gone. The workers avoid eye contact with me and tried to get me to buy other dogs, but I was too upset at the fact they made me drive an hour to find out they were too inconsiderate to call me and update me on the puppy. This place shouldn't exist. Not enough employees to watch people freely pick up the bunnies, hamsters, ferrets, guinea pics, etc. Poor little creatures being constantly fussed with. Oh, and they hold birthday parties there. Not sure how I really feel about forcing these animals to be shoved in a room full of children. I can't imagine the dogs are very comfortable in those cages, either. I left this place feeling the same that I would if I left a kill shelter. Also, there's a bird named Gracie that's not even for sale. The owner has decided that she belongs to the store. Gracie could live up to 60! She is 2 years old now and all she knows is a cage in this facility, and apparently that's all that owner wants her to know. Very sad. I will NOT support this company. read more

I was honestly appalled by the costumer service here. There were many empty puppy play rooms, many employees standing there with nothing to do. I asked if me and my sisters could play with another puppy and the employee rudely turned me down and turned right back to her coworkers to continue gossiping about another costumer. I thought I would have a nice time relieving some little baby animals of their tiny display cages and instead I left feeling sadder than when I came in. I won't forget some of those poor puppies with wet, sick looking eyes. :( read more

I used to work at this store over the summer. I was so excited to work here because I'm passionate about dogs. I was sadly mistaken to find out this would be a horrible job. The dogs were all crammed into tiny cages, sometimes up to four large breed dogs at a time. The dogs never see anything outside those four tiny walls and occasionally they get to play in those "play areas." They got no exercise, training or love which is essential to raising a puppy. Some of these dogs would stay at the store for months because of the outrageous prices. I can't say anything about these dogs coming from puppy mills because I was never there when the dogs were dropped off at the store. I have read many reviews on here and google that say they sell sick puppies which breaks my heart. I tried to push past all these negative reviews because I loved being able to see puppies everyday at work. I wanted to give these puppies a chance to find sweet loving homes. The people who work at the store work off commission and they would say or do anything to make the sale. They will lie and talk about things they have no idea about because they care more about the money than finding the dogs a well suited home. The puppies would eat their poop and lay in it and no one would do anything to stop them. They were careless around these puppies, kittens and small animals and treated them like dollar signs instead of like living breathing animals. Some of the large breed puppies were supposed to be eating three times a day but only fed twice. I still pushed through this even though it was tough to watch. What really made me not want to show up to work anymore was when I contracted ringworm. I know for a 100% fact that I got it from petland even though my manager tried to argue with me that I could have gotten it somewhere else. I told him about the situation and he denied it completely multiple times until after I stopped working and I told him to check the animals for signs of ringworm. I cannot say that he actually checked because I was not there. I would not recommend buying any animal, supplies or food from this place of business. Oh and p.s there is no one dog limit per customer, they just didn't think you are serious about taking the puppy home. Once again, completely based off commission and making the sale. read more

Me and my boyfriend purchased two baby bunnies. The lady who had sold them to us told us they would both be fine in the cage together and 2-3 days later the back Rex bunny was fighting and being stressing and pulled the Dutch bunny's fur out. I immediately separated them and after two more days I returned him to the store, I felt bad. I was sad I had to do that, but when I had returned him, I was still shopping in the store. The lady working at the moment put the bunny in with the other bunnies, and the bunny instantly started fighting with the other bunnies like he did to my pet bunny that I kept. (Dutch bunny) and the lady sad made a face and kept doing what she was doing. After I seen he had ripped another bunnies fur out and eating it, I immediately informed her and she moved him with the hiding house against the glass and told him to stop and walked away and they continued to keep fighting and she walked to the register in the front, and I tried to get him to stop and he bit me, I got the rest of my stuff and went to the front.
