I rarely leave negative reviews, but my recent experience at Pet Lover Central in Boca Raton was troubling enough that I feel other dog owners should be aware. From the start, communication was disorganized. I had already sent in my dogs' vaccine records, yet I was asked to resend them because staff couldn't access the email address I was originally told to use. This was frustrating and felt like an unnecessary waste of time. When I picked up my dogs, several issues raised serious concerns for me. Their bed was returned broken, some of their toys were missing, none of their food was given back, and all of their treats were untouched which made me question what level of care they actually received during their stay. For a bill of nearly $900 for just three and a half days, I expected far better. What made the situation worse was the lack of urgency in addressing these concerns. Days went by without resolution, leaving me feeling that my time and my dogs' well-being were not valued. This was not the experience I anticipated, and based on what happened, I cannot recommend this facility. I hope management takes feedback like this seriously, because no pet owner should have to feel this way after trusting a business with their animals. read more

PLC is an amazing place to bring your babies. Simon is discerning and hasn't liked other daycare places, but he goes to PLC without a problem and is even excited to be there! The employees are kind and attentive and know our Simon by name when we bring him in. Pricing is actually competitive for the area after doing some comparative research which is a great thing as well. We use PLC for day care and boarding and Simon seems to like both! The termination of long term employees without cause. The hiring of a general manager with no experience in pet welfare. So if you want your pet with inexperienced staff, a company who is buying up independent dog care owners across 7 states and a loss of the personal care, continue using this business. read more

We used PLC for a one night boarding. upon drop off the guy working the counter had complete disregard for my presence. No hello, no "I'll be right with you." I had to be the one to say Hi, I am here for drop off. Also, picking up- another awkward encounter with a female who worked at this facility. The staff is unprofessional, no mindful etiquette. Now that our dog is home, he is breaking out in some weird brown funky hot spot patch on his chest, chin, and even near his eye. They make you get a bath upon pick up, yet he smelt like he did not get a bath. He is also not eating normally now that he is home. I would not recommend this establishment at all, and we will not be coming back. read more

I rarely ever write reviews, but I've had such a positive experience bringing my 12 month old pug here for doggy day care that I thought it was only fair. The staff is very friendly and greets your dog as soon as they come through the door. My pup loves coming here and he pulls me in, with his tail wagging. I also love that I can watch him throughout the day on the doggie cams .If i have a question or concern, I can call and speak to someone right away . I am super particular with who I let watch my puppy and when I drop him off , i know he's in great hands and he's having a blast! Also, he comes home tired. Also, they do an incredible free photo shoot for your dogs first birthday. The pictures were adorable and came out looking so professional! Read all the great reviews, then went and got the tour. We booked a 7 day gold pkg stay. We picked up our 10lb Maltese shiztu and I knew she was sick, wheezing and coughing on the way home. Well, it's conjunctivitis and an upper respiratory infection and a vet bill on top of the PetCentral bill. I called to speak to the manager to make her aware of the issues and I was told it's like a child with a cold. They do what they can. She also went on to tell me what a great time my dog had playing with all the other dogs. They have a floor staff with plenty of people who told us, when we picked her up, that she was shy and quiet and did not really play with any dogs. Don't know if she was trying to smooth things over or what The owner just phoned and now I feel that my concerns were addressed. 1 or more dogs were sick and an honest update on my dog is more appreciated that a lie! read more

We adopted a 5 month old puppy recently, and both of us work full-time so we decided it was only fair to him to bring him to daycare. Roo had such a great (and exhausting) first day of daycare yesterday that he did not want to wake up for dinner last night! Needless to say, Petlover Central is the best daycare in the Boca & Delray area! From the very first day, they have treated our baby Roo like their own and that's what matters most to us! The best part- we are able to watch Roo play with his buddies all day long through the live webcam feature that they offer, which puts us at ease while we are at work. Even better, they send us a report card for Roo everyday including pictures of him with his buddies! Today was Roo's second day at daycare and as we walked through the door, the warm and friendly staff offered Roo a warm welcome back for another fun day! As we all know, there are so many doggy daycares in the area to chose from (and several are less expensive), however I would not consider any other place after just one day of daycare with Petlover Central. Didn't have a good experience. Won't be back. - Constant barking. My dog was shell shocked when I picked him up. - When I booked with Michael, I wasn't told my 70lb dog would be in a crate. So I was told for another $6/day he could be in a glass enclosure. I agreed but was charged $8/day. - There is a $1/day charge for insurance, per an email they send their customers. I never got the email but had to pay anyway...I knew nothing about it. - When I booked the stay for over a week, I was entitled to one free day. Of course they forgot to reflect the free day on my bill. Luckily I caught it. - I gave them tons of treats and medication in a large baggie ... I never got it back. It somehow got lost per the owner. - My dog pooped 2-3 days worth after I picked him up - My dog had a serious bloody wound from licking his paw. The owner claims they look at the dogs daily. They didn't look at my dog. I spent about $20 on medication etc. so it would get better. It's still is not 100% healed weeks later. - Enough said read more

These people take what they do way too seriously. And not in a good way. Brought my dog here one day after 12 noon and I sensed a thickness in the air. I asked if everything was ok and they responded by telling me they don't accept dogs after noon because "the pack is solidified." I just can't help but laugh. Almost every time I walked into their shop, I sense as if I was stepping on toes or doing something wrong. And now today, they call my fiance and inform us that our boxer pup is no longer welcome because he "lunged" at another dog. Meanwhile he's two years old, has been snapped at by multiple dogs in multiple different scenarios, and just accepted it and backed off. He's not aggressive at all and yes he's occasionally plays rough with other big dogs. This place is owned and operated by a bunch of Boca snowflakes. Pretty sure a lot of dogs play rough and I'm pretty sure that's exactly what we paid you $40 a day to supervise. If they're playing too rough you correct them and if correction doesn't work you separate them. Simple. Anyway, I think just out of spite I might get some of my investors together and open my own doggie daycare because so many of these places can't seem to get it quite right. Maybe I'll undercut this place by 10 bucks a day and offer a better facility, better overall brand and a better service. Uh oh! read more

My pup has been to a handful of daycares from Miami to West Palm and I can say without a doubt that this place is the best. I have two (good) daycares within 2 miles of my home but I drive an extra 15 minutes just to take him here. My 2 doggies spent 3 days/2 nights over Thanksgiving. They loved loved loved it. They had so much fun -- we got to watch them over the webcam. I didn't have to worry about them at all as they were being taken care of and having so much fun with the other dogs. The staff there are excellent with the dogs, small, mid and large sizes. Its indoors and they have a good area to play in. The big plus is how easy it was to register and book, and I didn't have to worry about paying them while picking up my dogs. Everything was already taken care of. They also offer grooming services and if u forgot food, they can provide it too for a very reasonable fee. Definitely coming back!! read more

By far the best place to bring your dog. Someone is there 24 hours which is so important to me. They have web cams and post daily photos on Facebook so you can check up on your dog. Our Weim, Cooper needs a lot of activity and structure and constant training. At PLC they following our requests for specific training that we're doing at home and he gets so much exercise there.
