I moved to Virginia in early 2020 from Dearborn, Michigan. Living in Dearborn we had so many authentic, delicious middle eastern food options due to the high middle eastern population that lives there. Because of this I absolutely LOVE shawarma sandwiches, hummus, tabbouli, and fattoush. I've been hunting for a restaurant that can deliver the same quality I'm used to and after visiting Petra, I think I'm still on the hunt. The food was not bad, it just wasn't as flavorful and authentic tasting as I would have liked. There wasn't much seasoning on my chicken shawarma which made it take more like plain grilled chicken with salt and pepper. I ordered a small fattoush salad as well. I expected mixed greens, veggies, and crispy pita but was instead given chopped green peppers, tomatoes, and cucumbers in a very oily dressing. So my coworker is always talking about how good this place is and how wonderful is etcetera etc. So I go and I order the lamb gyro. That's okay nothing to write home about but nothing bad. The next time I went I tried the grill plate I think it's called. the meat was absolutely horrible it was all way over cooked and tough and I ended up having to throw the whole plate away. My go-to for take out! Always order the family combo 1 kabob platter. It never fails to disappoint. My 1 and 3 year old, and 22 year old all love this, as well. During our first order from this restaurant, the pita bread included with the platter meals was missing. I called the restaurant again 15 minutes after their advertised closing time and they picked up, apologized for the mistake, and delivered the bread to our house (approximately 15 minutes away) free of charge with a few extra pieces of pita. I stopped by here a few months ago and I would say that it was ok. Today I decided to stop by again for lunch and quickly realized that it was a mistake. It is very disorganized and obviously they do not know well how to run a restaurant. A simple salad took 30 minutes while I was absolutely the only person in the restaurant waiting for food. The food is above average for the price that they charge. The cleanliness needs improvement as the number of flies very annoying. I am not coming back. Simply fantastic! This lovely renovation (where the Italian restaurant used to be) serves up some of the best Lebanese food in the area! The baba ghanouj was silky smooth, the gyros were delicious, and the kebbeh were crisp and hot, even as takeout. They gave us a complimentary small hummus, which was also great. Everything tasted fresh and well-seasoned and I wish we could have tried more! Others were having manaeesh, something like flatbread pizza, and all the varieties I saw looked incredible! There is plenty of parking, outdoor seating, and a spacious dining room. I could imagine coming here both with family and also for a casual date night. Try it, you won't be sorry! read more

I had the Hunter's Chicken tonight instead of my usual Mixed Grill. The Hunter's Chicken is a mixture of braised chicken breast chunks, onions, tomatoes and green beans. A huge portion of rice came on the side along with fresh hot pita. This was a really good dish like a home cooked stew. My wife had the mixed grill which is always good. She usually gets couscous instead of rice, which is my preferred side as well. Overall this is a great Mediterranean place when you're in the mood for something different. read more

If we order from there (5 adults) the bill is at least $100 after we get something to drink and maybe a couple of appetizers to share. When we saw this one here today, had to check it out immediately and have to say IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT :) The Pitas were warm and soft. Food came within a reasonable amount of time tho the place was packed and service was courteous. I ordered the appetizer platter and the quantity was more than sufficient. My husband ordered the Chicken Shawarma and my son the Petra platter. They loved it too. Impressed by the cleanliness and maintenance of the restrooms too. Paid $12 for a chicken kabob and the chicken was not edible, hard and dried out like jerky, only the rice was edible.
