Horrible customer service!! No sauce (except for garlic sauce) comes with your meal. You have to pay $0.50 per each yogurt or green sauce. I bought two meals. He threw in two garlic sauce. I asked for two yogurt and a green sauce and he charged me $1.50. Every other Middle Eastern Restaurant gives you at least one yogurt sauce because that is what it's supposed to come with and then additional sauce is extra. This guy (the old man owner) is grumpy and just wants to make every penny off of his customers. Do not go there unless you want to be ripped off and your sauce is going to end up costing you more than your food lol. Pathetic!!! read more

I ordered take out. By the time I got home(10 minutes..forreal) the food got cold. They forgot a $5 appetizer that I ordered. They asked me to drive back to get what was forgotten. I said I'll pass and eat the five dollars. They said to come back sometime and let them know why happened and I will get it for free. I will not be back. Been going to the one in woodbridge and it was close but came to the one that is just is on the border of woodbridge and manassas. Got the chicken kabob my plate . The portions are very good . Also got a side of hummus and it was nice , very smooth , airy . Highly recommend that option I cannot talk about anything else.in the menu . As I going from woodbridge to Manassas, on my way I went to Petra to get beef ground kabob form Petra. I would rate the beef kabob 1/5. IT WAS is very dried AND flavor seems JUST OK. Food quantity is 2/5, which is not much food for the money, as the portion is very small. The kabob order also included very VERY Small amount of rice and salad. The small bread bread seems like ready made, not the usual tandoor bread you would expect. The location seems to be great location in term of parking 5/5. As you can see other peoples food from yelp pic how dried the beef menu is... There are better places for kabob with such a juicey great beef ground or chicken ground kabobs, search for ones in Mclean or fairfax. As you can see, down below there are a lot of comments about PETRA having dried meat. Incredible food, great service, and the best prices! It doesn't get any better than that! Their portions are unreal for the price your paying, and I love that. I feel like a lot of Mediterranean places can be super stingy with the amount of food they give but this places over exceeds expectations. And can I just say, I'm so impressed with their side salad, as random as that sounds... Anyone that's been to any kabob place every knows that your typical salad is basically lettuce, tomato, and onion with some plain a** yogurt sauce... Nice, new Mediterranean restaurant off of Hoadly Rd. It's very clean and spacious, with plenty of space for dining. The food was delicious and fresh and tasted quite authentic. I got the Gyro platter here and I have to say, not impressed. They give you a very small amount of meat which is over cooked, then they give you a ton of rice and small piece of Naan. I got one here because it is closer to my house, but for future instances I will go to Afgan Kabob for my Gyro's. Way better! read more

If you haven't visited this place you are missing out. I'm not professing to be an expert on Mediterranean cuisine by any means, but to the amateur palate, this is great. Everything is made daily, as I've been told. The hummus and pita bread are out of this world. I get the combo platter (#5) which is a kabob, lamb, and beef with rice and a salad. Absolutely delicious. It's like having a home cooked meal. The selection of sauces is nice too. The garlic sauce is tasty and the green sauce is spicy. The vinegar salad is fresh, the meats tender and flavorful. There is a beef sandwich that is delicious and tender as well. We do love this place. Been eating at Petra Grill since it first opened in the mall and then the restuarant location. The restuarant is very nice on the inside with lots of space to sit, great decorations, clean, and lots of parking. The Potomac Mills Mall location just got upgraded to a bigger size too. In the beginning their fresh baked pita breadm chicken kabobs, salad, lamb, and hummus were the best in the area. Always hot, delicious and fresh tasting. The last few of times I've eaten here, however, I noticed that the chicken was not as juicy as before, the size of each chicken piece seemed smaller, and the bread was cold and stale. Ordered a couple of different things like the half roasted chicken which was bland and smelled old. It's possible that their carryout food may not be as good as sitting in the restaurant. I have a family member who always wants to come to this place when he visits, and when we go the food is usually much better when served and eaten in the restuarant. Overall this place is still a lot more decent than others in the area, the staff is friendly and accomodating, and their two locations make them accessible. I hope this place returns to its former glory soon!!!! read more

I'm so glad I decided to give Petra's another try. The food was perfect! It had been disappointing on occasion in the past, but the cook making chicken yesterday did a great job. The only reason it lost a star was the strongly perfumed cleaning products that permeated the entire restaurant. I thought I would get used to it, but if the odor is that strong next time, I'll get my food to go. Such an easy fix, I hope they take my advice and get rid of the extra fragrance. I'll be going back more often because the food yesterday proved worth it. read more
