We went to Petra Grill based on the 4.5 star rating, but I have to say that it wasn't near 4.5! It was more like no stars, but the food was okay. The restaurant was completely filthy, which I did not take notice of until I was waiting for my food. Every table in the restaurant was dirty, the floors were dirty, the door windows and regular windows were filthy. The trash area, where one dumps uneaten food and napkins had many different layers of food and sauce goop...disgusting! If the customer area looks like the restaurant did, I wonder what the kitchen looks like. I hope I don't get food poisoning from this place! read more

Very disappointed. Meat was very hard and dry, definitely overcooked. He ate his, I could only get down one piece. Rice and cucumber/tomato salad just okay. Same for hummus. First impressions: The young man who took my order was engaging, courteous, and helpful. The restaurant is clean. I can see & smell the cleanliness, walking in. My order was ready, exactly when promised and as ordered. The food: I ordered a variety of items, since this was my first visit. I had never had falafel & quite honestly had no idea what to expect. Their appearance reminds me of hush puppies. They are more dense, and I would consider them an acquired taste. I also had cous cous salad, which I enjoyed very much. The dish was colorful & had the right amount of seasoning. The bread, not sure if it was pita or naan, was excellent either way. Entree, chicken kabob. There was a bit less seasoning than I'm accustomed to, but it was still quite good. The rice was also less seasoned than I'm accustomed to, but it too was cooked well. The salad was fresh and beautiful, but this is where I felt something was needed. Perhaps, 1 of the 4 containers of sauce I received was supposed to be added to it. Unfortunately, I don't know that answer. Last, we had hummus. A little bland, but again, it could just be my personal taste. Would still recommend trying this place out. A healthy serving of rice with the meat made it look like there could have been a couple more pieces of beef or chicken. The salad was good, and the hummus serves tasted very good, but there was a bit too much olive oil on it.
