Having spent time in the Middle East, including in Jordan, along with having lived for several years in the metro Detroit area, I have a deep love for true and authentic Middle Eastern food. We came in on a Friday night for a quick date. We were greeted at the door and seated very promptly. We ordered the sampler platter to try a wide variety of options. It came with hummus fillet, Baba ganoush, pita bread and falafel bites. Amazing way to start. The portions a HUMONGOUS. I was stuffed 1/3 way through. The red rice was super zesty but not overly spicy. The Smokey rice and lamb stole the show. You need to come in and try everything. You will not be disappointed. I checked reviews in Google and Yelp. They're spot on! 5 doggone stars. Im not sure what it takes for a restaurant to blow up in popularity... Our entrees were large enough for 2-3 meals!!! The baba ganoush was the best I've ever had! The falafel were deep fried golden nuggets! So good! The cucumber sauce was a wicked accompaniment to the rice! The service was fantastic! Upon learning my wife was vegetarian he said she could call ahead for off menu dishes they could make for her. How often does that happen?!?! One of the best restaurants in the greater SB/Mishawaka area! It's a small, clean restaurant serving on plastic plates, which means you know it's going to be good. The service is so fast and friendly, even with a bit of a language barrier. The food is fresh, affordable, and comes in a huge portion. The sampler platter and Maqlooba were more than enough to feed 3 people to the brim. The falafel is the best I've ever had. The chicken shawarma was amazing! Flavorful and fresh with crunchy veggies. The falafel were good and crispy, but I wasn't the biggest fan of the dips. Everything was very very saturated with olive oil. I have had authentic hummus before, but possibly from a different region, so I don't prefer that much oil so the two dips having that much oil was a bit of a turn off. We arrived at 6:30pm not knowing they closed at 7. I felt bad, but they insisted we stay. They were very welcoming and hospitable. All the dishes I'm familiar with but not the flavor profiles or the cooking I'm used to, but still tasty. The baba ganoush is very smoky. The fattoush salad had entire chunks of bell peppers and chopped lemon and was a large mound of largely cut onions and lettuce so it was very hard to keep it on the plate, but everything was fresh. Not the pita chips I'm accustomed to either. The lentil soup was yummy, I appreciate they bring lemons to the table. We ordered their sampler platter as an appetizer which everyone at the table enjoyed. The falafel was tiny, but tasty. The portions are HUGE, so if you don't want a lot of food, I highly suggest sharing or splitting an entree. The mint lemonade was very thick and pulpy hard to sip through a straw without getting chunks of lemon or mint. I don't eat meat but the meat dishes looked incredibly flavorful and well seasoned and perfectly grilled. I did enjoy their rice with cucumber yogurt and tomato cucumber salad. read more

So glad I found this place. It was delicious. I've been missing authentic food like this - Lebanese/Jordanian. I had hummus, grape leaf rolls, and oozi with chicken. Pita was freshly made. Came here on the 4th of July and was surprised it was open. Staff was so accommodating and attentive. It looks like you order at the counter but you take a menu and they come to you. They served us complimentary spinach pie which was my absolute favorite. We also ordered the babaganous, falafel, chicken shwarma (which took the longest to get), msakah, grape leaves, and Mendi. It is all cooked to order and is so fresh and homemade. I also had the mint lemonade which was awesome too. I usually just get water but this was not too sweet. Finally, some legit middle eastern food in the SB area. Small mom and pop place with modest accomodations, but the food is the star of the show. Pretty generous portions, good value. Friendly staff. Excellent hummus and baba ganoush. Kibbeh pretty good as well. I assume the family is Jordanian by the name of the restaurant and the flag inside; not sure how different this is from Palestinian food I experienced in Chicago, might account for the difference in the kibbeh that I'm used to. We got carryout. They were extremely busy and very understaffed. The pita bread that came with our baba ganoush was just a grocery store pita...the baba ganoush itself was average. We also ordered falafel..it was good...a little less parsley than normal, but crispy and delicious. We also had kubeh and chicken w red rice. The food was all prepared and seasoned really well...we loved it. The chicken came w a shepards salad...it was cool and delicious w alot of tomato and sumac. (I was so excited to dig in that I didn't remember to take a picture until we'd attacked a number of dishes.)
