You know you've found an amazing, gold-star salon when you leave the salon with an amazing haircut, and it grows out well, too! Petros is the kind of salon that may cost a bit more, but is worth every penny. It boasts high-quality cuts from a talented and friendly team who go out of their way to accommodate you. Nancy and Mariam are amazing with hair colour, and Tatiana, Nadina, and Sean are wonderful hairstylists. Sean has cut my hair (it's thick and long and very difficult to tame) for years; I don't know how he does it, but I always get so many compliments! Highly recommend this place to everyone. read more

Have you ever wondered what a bob cut mixed with a mullet would look like? I no longer have to wonder because that is the cut I got, and it is as bad as you think it would be. Let me also add that because my hair is curly it looks even worse. However the truly scary thing is I can't tell if it was on purpose or by accident. I am a new mother who rarely gets time now for things like haircuts and so I was pleased when I was able to snag a baby sitter and sneak away for a little me time. I walked in without an appointment and to their testament they were able to fit me in which was wonderful. That's where the wonderful ended. The salon is small which I don't mind, but the decor looks like it's stuck in the 90's. My stylist was nice, but I soon realized she was very chatty and that is coming from a stay at home mom who is usually desperate to talk to people. I asked for a trim to get rid of damage and I was aware that this meant an inch would be coming off. I remember asking her to just reshape what I already had which I can assure you was not a bob-mullet! I have curly hair and the cut I had before was perfect because it was long layers which add some volume but the weight helps minimize frizz. This stylist changed my cut, and went with short layers on the top and front and longer layers in the back. YUK! I was initially unsure of how I looked in the mirror, but my time was short and I couldn't really look it all over. I wish I had! When I got home I looked in the mirror and immediately saw a huge chunk of hair on the right side was longer. She must have missed it which pissed me off because I paid around $75 and gave her my usual $20 tip I give my normal hairdresser (who works far away now, hence this little adventure) Then the horror of seeing the mullet creation in the back of my head was the cherry on this crap pie. So now you understand why I am unsure if this was by design or by accident. And I don't know which makes me more irritated. I mentioned this to someone I know and they said they had a similar experience (different stylist). I would not go back, and would not send anyone I like there unless they want a bad hair cut. read more

What an amazing hair salon! This salon has been around for over 25 years and continuously never fails to do a fantastic job. Maryam has been doing my hair for quite some time now and understands all of the new trends and specific colours to try on my hair. I am a very neautral person, but recently we did a blue black to add beautiful shine. She understands the fashion sense and art of hair it is impressive everytime I go there. This hair salon is NOT over priced at all for Bayview; it is extremely reasonable to get your hair dyed there and blow dryed ($100) yet still the 5 star service you would expect in Bayview. I'm in love with this salon and could never see myself going anywhere else! read more

I do believe that this salon has some talented stylists, however, their logistics, customer service and communication skills are horrible and seeing as its a service industry, I would not recommend this salon to anyone. I booked an appointment and was seated at a station, waited there for 25 minutes before any stylist noticed me, only to tell me to move to a different station where I waited for another 20 minutes. 45 minutes after my scheduled appointment began, the stylist came over and didn't apologize for making me wait until the middle of the treatment, and even then it sounded super insincere. I felt like the consult was impersonable and rushed, before I could make my requests clear she had already mixed the dye. She then was bragging about how fast she could apply the dye and foils which was very off-putting. Because of the 45 minute delay, she used a heater to speed up the process. After my hair was washed, the owner came over and said that my highlights had bled into each other, probably because of the heater use (which I have never used before, my hair is too fine) - This resulted in another treatment to fix the bleeding with the same stylist who made the whole process seem very awkward and uncomfortable. The colour wasn't a complete disaster but it was much lighter than i had expressed i wanted. The highlights also weren't very visible because of the second treatment after the mistake. I appreciate the owner trying to admit his employees mistakes and apologize on behalf of the salon, but he did so by saying "im saving you more money by being here instead of christmas shopping" and joking about firing the stylist. It was a cute effort but I was tired and pissed off as I had been in the salon for 3 hours and just wanted to go home without a bleached head. They did the right thing by discounting the highlighting service but it is supposed to be a upscale professional salon, which I do not believe it is. I left feeling very uncomfortable and will not go back nor recommend. read more

After a "scheduling error" with another salon at the other side of the mall, I stopped in Petros with hopes someone would be available to wash and cut my hair. Thankfully, Mariam was free and best of all, FANTASTIC! She did wonders to my hair and even styled it free of charge. It was a blessing in disguise the other salon failed to book my appointment because I love Petros and Mariam! She knows how to work on Asian hair as well. My thick hair is thinned out perfectly (no visible layers) and she cut only as much as I was comfortable with. Great lady to chat with. Definitely recommend! read more

tragic story that ruined my senior year of high school, wasted me 1500$ and mental depression. i would have given it no stars, expect for the stylest who did my hair she was the nicest! of course i know she didnt mean to, but she ruined my hair. not just my hair my senior year of high school. i went in to get a perm, i have showed them a picture of how i wanted it and they began on my hair. my hair is long( up to my hips) straight and medium thick. expecting petros to be a higher end salon i saved up the 170$ to get it there instead of where my sister had gotten hers for 100$ on her hair they used the acid perm with heat, but on me at petros they used a basic perm which you can purchase at shoppers, they left it in overtime, as she was attending to other customers. when she washed it out, it was like an animal died on my head! it was huge frizzy and well there was no curl just crimps and dents.as well as my scalp was brunt and my ear was irritated and red. at first i thought maybe they had styled it weird so i decided to go home and style it myself. i got home and closely examined my hair. the whole back crown area broke off! it broke off to around 3 inchs long!!!! and the front around my roots were tiny tiny stubs. when i went to school people asked me why my hair line was receding! it was soo terrible!! two days passed and i was just depressed i cried 2 days straight and didnt even bother going to school, i decided to pay 400$ to get the keratin Brazilian blowout, it helped alot! and the stylest told me to go back and get a refund. when i went back, (with documented picture including a picture of my hair before, a picture of my hair right after the perm and a picture of my hair 3 days after the perm) they said that i didnt have proof it was them who did the damage to my hair, they said it would of been the keratin treatment, and that the picture i showed them was not done with a perm, but with a curling iron. and they had the guts to say "thats how a perm looks like" first of all, WHY DIDNT YOU TELL ME THAT WHEN I SHOWED YOU THE PICTURE BEFORE THE PERM?!?!? second of all, WHAT ARE YOU DENYING HERE? I DOCUMENTED EVERYTHING THERE ARE PICTURES.. third of all MY SISTERS PERM LOOKS NOTHING LIKE THIS SHIT. i didnt even bother arguing i can care less about the 170$ i just wanted my hair back. i know people are like "its just hair, it will grow back" but it took me 5 years to grow it to my current length i was devastated. two weeks later the whole top layer of my hair has broken off the about 3-5inchs long i looked like i have gotten a mullet hair cut, with tiny pieced of 2cm stubs sticking out everywhere. i ended up getting yet another 400$ treatment to mend some of the damage because my grad trip was coming up to costa rica. i had saved 2000$ to go on this and this perm ruin it. i couldnt even go in the sun or pool or beach as if i did my hair would just snap off. it ruined my graduation pictures and its going to ruin prom. read more
