I came here with my cousin who was looking for some specific food items, side, and purchase anything myself on this trip. I should have purchased the Beurre d'Isigny butter here rather than going to Paris, buying Bordier butter vacuum sealed butter, having the hotel freeze it, then paying extra for check in luggage since it's a colder storage area. Cuisenery didn't have Bordier butter but when I was doing my online research, I found that both of the brands I mentioned are pretty good. I actually liked my Beurre d'Isigny butter better, but that's more likely due to it being unsalted versus the salted version I bought in Paris (apparently, you MUST use salted on your bread per the Parisians). They also had a bunch of other frozen foods and condiments, including frozen escargot in puff pastry, frozen baguettes, mustards, and jams.

We are addicted and will only use the Ohsawa Nama Shoyu, which is an organic and unpasteurized soy sauce from Japan. In all of the years I've been ordering, I have only had one misstep with an order. It was during COVID and I typically order the 32oz bottle which will last us for about 4-5 months. What came that time were two small bottles and I had a bit of a challenge getting in touch with them during that time. Once I was able to talk to someone, they were quick to rectify the situation and they shipped out the big bottle. The shipping is always great with the bottles being bubbled wrapped and then wrapped in thick shipping paper to secure the bottle and get it unbroken to the destination. It also has only taken about 4-5 days from order to arrival. Wanted to give Gold Mine an updated shout out!!! We are customers for life!

There isn't much of a restaurant, just food on warmers. We walked around the store, there was very few bread options and nothing looked great. There was a meat counter, but no cheeses. There was a small refrigerated section with very few options, but it was being stocked and I couldn't see much of what was there. I didn't see any fresh hummus, garlic dips, or salads. There was a nice small frozen section, but we ended up not buying anything and leaving. I will mention, there were at least 5 employees and not one person greeted us or said anything. It was not very welcoming. I actually left and then went to one of my favorite markets where I was able to get everything I wanted and was welcomed.

Best salsa in San Diego!…read more My husband and I came across Mister G's spicy garlic salsa at Protector Brewery. We bought some from the fridge to take home and my only regret was not buying two because once we got home, it was game over for that salsa -- it didn't even last an hour. The salsa had good flavor, as well as a nice kick to it, and you could actually taste the garlic! We've been trying to find a salsa that we like out here (been here for three years total) and haven't found one until we had some Mister G's. The last time we had really good salsa was when we lived on Oahu, but even then.. it was a salsa that was made in Compton that we bought at the commissary. I can't wait until we visit Mister G's shop in Miramar and try more of the salsas.
