I pass by this ice cream shop gazillion times and I never stopped by to try. Finally I took my daughter here after picking her up from school. They have very limited parking spots right in front of the shop. So be prepared that you might have to park on the side or shoulder lane. Lady who took my orders was very nice and friendly. Service was good. Many flavors to choose from that I don't even know where to start. I only know I will definitely return to try out other flavors. My wife went to the Rita's on Rt. 13 on the first day of spring this year. She ordered a gelati and a Misto for her and I, as well as a custard in a cup for our child who doesn't like water ice. Then she asked for 2 of the tiny water ices they give out for free on the first day of Spring for our two other kids. The people working were completely rude and said it's only one per customer. My wife explained they went back into the car when it started raining while waiting in line. They didn't hear her out and were very rude. So after spending $25 on those overpriced items, they only gave her one of the freebies because she didn't go and drag the kids out of the car in the rain. That will be the last time we spend our money on overpriced dessert at Rita's. I typically wouldn't write a review, but I just had to let everyone know about a much better option I found. I recently went to Petrucci's on Knights rd. The prices were fair (spent less money on more items), the service was quick and the workers were friendly (went above and beyond to be sure my kid got her's first so she could eat it while we waited for the rest). Not to mention you get way more of a flavor selection in both water ice and ice cream. read more

Parking is extremely hard... very small lot. It's very hard to get parking especially when it's busy. Luckily, there's two stores nearby that has parking but still it's terrible that you can't park in front of the shop. The Orange Creamsicle milkshake was good in the beginning then after 10 minutes it went bad. It got so watery right quick. My boyfriend and I couldn't finish it and just threw it away. Such a waste. I had the vanilla soft serve dipped in chocolate. That was really good but I hate how it melted so fast. I was inside the car with the AC on and it was still dripping so fast. I don't know how this place has so many positive reviews. We went tonight for some water ice. I've been by it a million times but never stopped. It was hot today! There was a line, only one person working. Finally getting up to window the person screams trough the screen next. I say hello... nothing, I proceed to place my order. All I get is yeah, yeah, anything else? The place smells like cigarette smoke and the service is terrible! The water ice was thick and overly sweet. After receiving my order I said thanks and have a good night... nothing again. This place is cash only and they are cheap but I guess you get what you pay for. The parking lot is also terrible. Petrucci's is awesome! It's a small shop with once person and you order at the window. Parking lot fits about 4 cars so you pull up but if there's none then you can park next door at produce junction. They have DIFFERENT FLAVOR SOFT SERVES. A bunch of cool hard dip ice cream flavors, like s'mores, cotton candy, blueberry, and my personal favorite salted caramel pretzel. The price is super reasonable! It's the best deal/taste you can get in the burbs, and being from the city I think it's actually a lot better than the ice cream places that charge 10x more in the city. I also like getting their orange creamsicle soft serve. My bf likes getting their soft serve or a gelato when it's hot for the best of both worlds! This place is okay as far as ice cream goes, but the way they do business seems like they're practically begging to lower their profit. It's cash only and I (along with lots of other people) rarely carry cash. So, even though I live in the apartment complex literally across the street, I can't run over there to grab anything unless I drive to an ATM first. One day, I really wanted ice cream so, I made that trip to get cash and ordered a brownie sundae - only for them to tell me that it only comes with nuts on it (I'm severely allergic to nuts) and that they only purchase brownies with nuts in them. Who does that? This is one of or probably THE most common allergy in the country. Obviously, I was disappointed and lastly, I'd need to write a whole other review if I want to get started on how bad the parking is/how difficult is is to get out. But I digress. read more

Very good custard and water ice! The parking is awful. The customer service is "meh." Not the friendliest of people, but seems like college students are running the joint now. My dad used to go here often growing up and some older people who were really nice owned it and operated it. I took a point off for the customer service and parking. I contribute to their little money jar every time I go but never get a thank you, so no more contributions from me. It's something for college I guess since there are different college names written all over it (including my alma mater, so I guess I'm partial to contribute). I would stay away from this ice cream place. My family has been going here for years but recently it went down hill. My wife and kids got ice cream cones here this weekend and the server gave here the cones totally melted without sprinkles when she asked for sprinkles three times. I do not understand how a business can give you a melted cone with it dripping all down the cone. My wife ended up throwing it away. The service was the pits. The guy taking the order who forgot to put on sprinkles then started yelling to my wife that she shorted them 38 cents.
