Total RIP OFF!!! I took my dog there because she had a growth on her tail. They gave me an estimate of $565. I agreed to leave her and have it removed. When I picked her up, the actual bill was $620. Ok I understand it was an estimate but they scheduled me to bring her back in 10 days for post op visit and remove her stitches.. These crooks charged me $40 to remove stitches!! Who does that? My dog had an abscess by his tail. Our appointment was for 1:30. We waited for more than an hour in an empty waiting room. What was going on in the back I don't know. Lunchtime? We were finally called in. The doctor took a look and stepped out. When he came back in he had an itemized list for treatment...totaling almost $900! I simply wanted it drained and dressed. I told him we cannot afford that. He charged us $50 for the office visit and he did essentially NOTHING. I will never go back there. My regular vet is more expensive but at least they don't try to rip you off. read more

I came here a few times when I first got my cat. I took my cat here for his first few checkups (3 or 4). I love the vet. He's really sweet but the prices are way too high. I mean really high... The first exam for new customers is free but all the shots are aren't included and my bill was super high. I walked out with a bill of almost $300 and all I got were a few shots and a check up. Took my dog there back in May because she had blood in her urine and they diagnosed her with an infection and gave her medication. She died yesterday. I went to Pets on Budget after my cat was bitten by a feral cat; the bite wound had become infected. I found the office to be sunny and pleasant; the receptionist was very welcoming and friendly. The vet tech was very gentle and caring with my cat. The veterinarian was very concerned and very thorough in his care. The fees for service were reasonable and financing was available through carecredit.com. I would highly recommend this veterinary hospital based on atmosphere, quality of care, and value; it is now my regular veterinary care provider for my cats. The hospital is open 7 days per week, from 9 am to 7 pm, every day. One can make an appointment on via their website, provided that the day chosen is at least 72 hours in advance; otherwise one must call their office in order to make one with less notice. read more

I had taken my puppy in for his second round of shots, out appointment was at 9:30 but I get there early so they took me right away. They asked standard questions and then gave me an estimate (visit/exam:45, distemper/parvo: 33, oral bordetella: 27) which was pretty standard as far as pricing goes. After the shots he cut my puppies nails without me even having to ask. All in all the office was clean, the staff was professional and friendly, and the prices were fair. read more

ONLY AMAZING THINGS TO SAY ABOUT THIS VET. First of all, I had taken my cat to 3 different vets before I found "Pets on a Budget" My cat has a skin condition that a vet dermatologist wanted to charge upwards of $2000 solely for diagnostic testing. Needless to say, I couldn't afford that. My appointment was on a Saturday. I did have to wait a while. Admittedly, I was getting impatient. HOWEVER, when the vet began the examination, I quickly realized that it was worth the wait. The vet was super upfront with me, he didn't speak to me like I was a moron nor did he use crazy medical terms that I couldn't understand. HE WAS AWESOME. My cat was handled with care, I was treated with respect and I left there feeling like I made the right choice for my pet. What more could I ask? Take the time to schedule your appointment for some time during the week, the wait won't be as long. Keep in mind it's a one vet, one vet-tech show and his prices are SUPER reasonable. Be patient and be realistic. Ask the vet-tech, when you make your appointment, if it's a busier time of the day/week. Then, plan accordingly. If more people find out how awesome this place is, we are going to have to wait a heck of a lot longer to see him. hahahaaa Give this place a try. You will be happy you did. read more

This place is ridiculously expensive and the doctor has no idea what he is talking about. My cat was having trouble breathing and all he would tell us was that she was having trouble breathing, unless we paid $850 for her to stay overnight. She died the next day because of the lack of help from this clinic. Go somewhere with a doctor who knows what they are doing. read more

This is the worse animal clinic I have ever been to! I took my 4 year old dog to get checked because I suspected she had a UTI. The doctor gave me an estimate of $334 only for blood work and a urine test! I told him I could not afford all of the tests so I only ordered the urine test because that would show any bacteria present in her urine. AFTER he had me sign a consent form he informed me that the results wouldn't be back until five days after that day! He ended up charging me $250 for the test and two weeks worth of antibiotics for something he didn't even know she had! It's been two weeks and they still have not given me any results! I do not recommend this place at all. Horrible doctor and horrible animal service. They do not care about helping at all. They are all about making money. I told them if the clinic was really "on budget" as they claim and they said they would work around what I could pay and they never did. I am a full time student and they didn't even try to give me a discount. Never going there again! If I could give them no stars I would. read more

After reading the negative reviews of this facility and Dr. Patrick, I feel that I must rebut. My 9 year old dog became very ill last weekend and on a Sunday I had no choice but to take her to Banfield at Petsmart. The vet looked at her, left the room and the tech came back with a bill for $900 just to cover blood and urine analysis in addition to x-Rays. I told them no way and brought my dog to Pets On Budget the next afternoon as she was knocking on death's door. Her breathing was inhibited due to her nostrils being extremely swollen and closed up. Without hesitation Dr. Patrick cleared her nostrils and she already looked better. He said that we should test her blood and urine which was $235. Just the urinalysis at Banfield was over $200. He did a preliminary blood test and found that she had diabetes. She stayed overnight with an IV to treat the dehydration and received appropriate doses of insulin. Tests and overnight treatment came in at just over $800. When I picked her up the next day she looked better but still sick. Dr. Patrick showed me how to test her glucose levels at home and how to give her insulin injections. That night I gave her the insulin but she would still not eat and appeared to be dying as early morning drew near. My wife and I made a decision to put her down when the office opened. They offered to see her right away and I was devastated but tearfully ready to see my friend off. Upon arriving, the techs brought her right into an exam room. Dr. Patrick came in right away and calmly tested her glucose. Near perfect results. He next got her to eat for the first time in a week. She started perking up. He said that as long as she was eating, that it was worth giving her a fighting chance. I brought her back home alive. One day later (today) she is still a bit off but showing great signs of improvement with food, rest and insulin. Dr. Patrick and his staff are very caring and personable and the prices are fair, relatively speaking. No vet is cheap. Based on my experience, I highly recommend Pets On Budget. read more

The worst place ever! Don't go there! I spent almost 500$ for visit, blood test and antibiotics for my cat. After two weeks giving my cat all the medication i got from them I had no results. My cat even start feeling worse. So I had to take him to another hospital. And their doctors kept calling me and asking why didn't I show up for the second appointment. Seriously? My elderly dog had stopped eating because her teeth are in such bad shape at this point (she's 14 1/2). I took her to Dr. Patrick, they took really great care of her and called to see how she was doing after receiving an antibiotic shot and pain medication. The clinic was very compassionate and the price was reasonable. There was no pressure to do extensive tests or anything. He simply gave me the options and facts with no guilt or pressure to make decisions. She responded well to the antibiotics and is doing great! Thanks for the wonderful service! read more

If I could give this place less than a star, I would. Lorraine, at the front desk, is the most unprofessional person I have had the disgust to encounter. Not helpful, rude, and basically left me to deal with a balance I was told would be waived and sent it to collections instead. Hung up the phone when I was speaking and refused to pick up the phone when I called back multiple times. This is the type of person representing a vet hospital??? Although I had an excellent experience before my last trip wasn't so great. I had an 11:30am appointment and wasn't seen until 12:40am. I was told it was busy but I only saw two other pets while I was there. I went to get a distemper vaccine and heart-worm test which I was told would be about $70. While I was there they did a deworming, told me my dog needed bordetella vaccine, they also did a fecal test without my consent. Total bill $224. The only reason I will keep going back is because of how good they are with my dog, but if they don't get there act together I'll be going to a different vet. read more

I visited "Pets on Budget Vet" this morning after calling for emergency services as my miniature schnauzer who had been bitten on the head and ear by a larger dog. I was scheduled to come in "within and hour of my frantic telephone call", after taking the necessary documentation, we were seen by the Vet who explain in detail the service and examination, we were given the necessary meds to continue care at home and scheduled for a follow-up. All of this occurred within and hour, more accurately we were in and out in less than one hour of our arrival. I am very please with the service rendered by the staff personnel who were professional, efficient and courteous. The professional medical attention was superb and I loved the calming affect they had on a very traumatized dog and the very nervous owner. Beware of Dr. Patrick Umeukeje @ Pets on Budget. I took my puppy in for a skin allergy. The staff and doctor were friendly. Dr Patrick did a skin scrape on my puppy turned out to be skin mites. He then gave me price for everything after skin scrape was done estimate was over $300. This place is definitely not a place of budget. I felt I had no choice but to pay. He told me to come back for check up in two weeks after medication was done. My puppy did not get better. His skin condition got worse. I went back and The doctor insisted on doing another skin scrape just so he can charge me made no sense already knew what was the matter. He gave other prescriptions. Another bill of over $300. The price compared to previous visit was different on exam and skin scraping does not seem to have a set price. After giving my puppy the prescription medicine he got really sick vomiting and very weak did not want to eat or drink. He was so weak was collapsing could not walk rushed him to the emergency hospital. The Dr in the emergency hospital contacted poison control. The prescription medicine that was prescribed by Dr Patrick was not the correct dose. My puppy was overdosed. Caused neurologic and Gi signs at 1/4 the dose. Temporarily blind on left eye tremors and possible seizure. It cost me more in vet bills and cost my puppy's health. He is in the process of recovering. Dr. Patrick Umeukeje cares only to charge as much as he can overcharging and charging for unnecessary service. Dr Patrick Umeukeje risked my puppy's health and could of taken his life. read more

Beware of pets on a budget. Number one it is no budget number two dr. Patrick has no idea what he is doing he is only in for the money. Took my dog their who was in bad condition at the time. He kept her for several hours. She couldn't breathe he gave her oxygen. He took some blood and did an xray. He couldn't figure out what was wrong with her and told us we should take her to the animal emergency hospital because he had to close. So I picked my dog up who was in worse shape then when I left her got my bill for $1,000 and was sent on my way. The emergency animal hosp. Is 45 mins. Away from pets on a budget and we nearly lost her on the ride there. It turns out she had pneumonia which they figured out immediately and gave her the care she needed. The next day the doctor called to find out what the diagnosis was and to ask me what the emergency hospital charged for their services and could I send him a copy of the itemized bill.
