Buy large tanks with confidence. I was recently in the market for a 180g glass aquarium and had zero luck sourcing one locally. For a reasonable price Pets Warehouse was able to ship the tank via freight to my home and for a little extra I was able to get it delivered inside my home. They palletized the tank with great care and it arrived in perfect condition. The delivery was all done via Fedex freight. It was such a relief not to have to leave the tank in my garage while I arranged local movers to finish installing it. One stop shopping at its best. I love stores like this. Specialty pet stores that can put places like Petco to shame with their customer care/support. I needed a glass top for my 90 gallon tank and the staff there were able to order it for me and called me as soon as it came. Horrible customer service. I went to this store and purchased some gravel to setup a tank for my grandson. I purchased an extra bag so we made sure we have enough. The next day we returned the one bag as it was not needed. The store refused to accept the return. The store manager wouldn't even have a conversation about the return. Knowing that he was the one that sold me the gravel in the first place. Totally lost a customer that was planning to return to purchase fish and other items needed. Now we are left finding a new pet shop. Just horrible over a 20 dollar bag of sand. read more

Edit 3/21/23: I'm updating review and increasing to 4 stars for the prompt response and the option to ship to store. The ship-to-store option is almost nowhere to be found on website, until you click on "show all rates" button in cart after you put in your zip code and city. Don't expect a product you saw on the website to be in store. I traveled quite far to the Lindenhurst location to pick up some frozen fish food that was available to order on their website. Of course, it's not there. I called the Carle Place location, and they don't have it either. Now, the staff at the store were quite friendly and tried to assist, but they just lacked the knowledge. Most questions I asked, I could not get an answer. The store is neat and a brief look at the fish department, showed a nice selection that I would purchase, but the staff needs more education. An employee at the Carle Place location told me that the website is linked to the Lindenhurst store location, so they should have the product. Like I said, they didn't and the employee seems to be incorrect. read more

This is my favorite pet supply store. The store is always well stocked and has the best prices on fish and dog food. They have a great selection of both salt and freshwater fish. The fish are always healthy and the tanks are clean. I frequent the store on a weekly basis and always have a good experience. The staff is very knowledgeable, informative and friendly. Dead moldy/fungus covered betta in a jar with so much algae in it that the fish probably couldn't have swam or breathed properly while it was alive. It was evident the water hadn't been changed in more than a month(considering just how dead that fish was they probably forgot about the bettas altogether) and the store has been open throughout covid so that's not why the water was disgusting. They had one other betta next to it barely alive that was in similar algae. I get that bettas are usually kept in pretty crappy conditions in stores but this was atrocious. So much so that I out my other items back and walked out after handing the dead betta to an employee. read more

One is way too huge, it was a guess on my part. I'd like to exchange it for the same bowl at 15cm. I got one Komodo Skull and snake reptile bowl {SKU 784369932638) & it holds 6 cups. I ordered a 36 bow aquarium hood. It turned out to be a 36 gallon and not a 36 inch bow hood. I emailed this company and explained my issue and requested item be returned. They first told me that they would not accept it back due to covid which was a lie and then told me that i would have to pay for it to be sent back due to my error. I emailed them back and told them that 36 bow hood should mean 36 inch bow hood. of course they disagreed. So after some nasty emails on their part and mine, I sent the hood back at my expense. I have yet to receive a refund nor an acknowledgement of my return. I called my credit card company and they have opened a case against this company for the return of my money. This company's customer service sucks! You can't call them because no one answers the phone. So the only way to contact them is through emails. Don't be surprised by the nasty emails you get when you need to return something. NEVER NEVER AGAIN!!!!! read more
