One of my favorite pet stores that I've recently found. We got a second dog and the food we were going to feed him was hard to find, but Animal Pantry was one of the few carriers and that's how we came across this place. We absolutely love coming here because the staff is so incredibly friendly and helpful. They all seem to genuinely care about your pets and you can't beat the prices. I wish they had a better treat selection, but they have enough that you can find something for even the pickiest of eaters. All in all, top of our list as favorite pet store and we look forward to bring our dogs here every month when it's time to restock. read more

They have good quality foods. Prices are average. What I really like is they give space to a local cat rescue.

Great staff! I now am volunteering at last hope in wantagh and going here a few months ago and seeing how they love there pets (also had one of mine pass away) inspired me to foster, adopt and volunteer!! The prices are good. It's small but that's what makes it great! It's not like some other stores with people that just need a job. They care about what they do so for my birthday I decided I was going to give back then take. Anything you can do to help is great! Whatever you passion is - pass it forward. I'm glad that I checked the reviews and found that I'm not the only one put off by the staff's failure to wear masks. For the second time, I walked in only to see the young woman behind the counter not wearing a mask; I promptly walked out. Another employee was re-entering the store at the time and I told him I won't shop when employees in the store aren't wearing masks. He just shrugged. It's too bad: they have a nice selection and decent prices, but as with the other reviewer I'm the caretaker of an elderly parent and it's just not worth the risk. It doesn't matter if the employee puts on a mask when I approach the counter: if they are an asymptomatic carrier, they've already spread aerosolized viruses all around the area. read more

I"ve been going to this pet supply store for years and have been happy with the selection and price. HOWEVER, LATELY since covid hit us hard in west babylon, SOME of the young workers there, DON'T WEAR A MASK. This is so upsetting to me and I hope the management changes this FAST. It's bad for business. I may have to start shopping elsewhere unless this changes. I have an elderly parent I care for and would hate to see her get covid because I shopped at animal pantry and the young workers there don't wear a mask. My wife has spent hundreds of dollars on dog food in the Farmingdale Animal Pantry such as Stella & Cheweys freeze dried patties, Health Extensions and Smart Bones, etc. Recently she went in and they suggested she help herself to a sample bag of Health Extensions dog food (which she was already buying a large bag). So she did. What a mistake. Both our dogs had diarrhea for 3-4 days and we couldn't figure out why until she checked the bag, and the sample was expired for over a year! One of our dogs was scheduled to be spayed and we had to delay the surgery until she was better. My wife went back into the store and showed them the sample bag and they had to pull the bags off the shelf because they were still handing them out. She spoke to the owner/manager Andrew several times and he put the blame on Health Extensions. Supposedly he was going to speak to the company and get back to us about what they intended to do about it. At this point in time it seems Animal Pantry has dropped the issue in the hopes that we just forget about it. What we worry about is if the samples are expired, how do we know the rest of the food isn't expired? We have lost our trust in Animal Pantry and will take our business elsewhere. read more

Shop here! Supporting this store means that you are supporting an independent store and not supporting one of the big box faceless corporations. Why line the pockets of the rich when you can keep the money in our town and support local business! If that's not a good enough reason, how about the fact that their prices are lower than both petco and petsmart. Or even better that they dedicate a part of their store to cat rescue. If you are allergic to cats then either take an allergy pill before you go or shop elsewhere because in addition to the cat rescue, which usually has around 12 cats available, they have several cats walking around the store. The rescue cats they offer seem friendly, happy and healthy. Every time I go in there is usually a variety of kittens and young adults available to choose from. read more

Very nice pet store. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. They also have a nice selection of foods that the major stores like Petsmart, Petco and Petland do not carry. They have a vet clinic that comes in once in a while to do low cost vaccinations. Its always a pleasure to shop here. The prices are reasonable as well. read more

Animal Pantry is by far my favorite place to shop for my pets. As a pet care professional, animal rescuer and pet parent to multiple animals there are many things I consider when choosing services, businesses or products for my pets. Pet pantry has a selection of many high quality pet foods and products that are difficult to find elsewhere and their prices always beat the competition. They have a wonderful staff that makes the shopping experience both helpful and personal and in addition the owner works with rescue groups to find homes for adoptive animals rather than selling animals for profit which says volumes about their character and concern for animals. Was in desperate need of Feline Greenies Pill Pockets. This store is nearby but I never stopped in as its exterior is somewhat unappealing. Huge mistake. I will be shopping here for my pet needs from here on. I only looked in the cat section, but if the rest of the store matches up, this place is a find. Best selection of wet and dry foods from supermarket shelf brands to the higher end Blue and Wilderness, and at totally competitive prices. Pill pockets were $6.99, I've been paying anywhere from $7-10.99 each. I watched the care and attention given to the adoption cats as well while I was in store. Cages were clean, food and water plentiful, and each animal's coat glowed from being well groomed. In my opinion, that's the best testament to shop here. read more

I am simply overwhelmed with appreciation for the staff at Animal Pantry. They are the kindest, most helpful and generous people who truly care for animals and are willing to go out of their way to change an animals life. I found an abandoned kitten in a parking lot who was so very sweet but his eye was completely closed and he needed help quickly. I was turned away by the emergency Vet and didn't know what to do with this sweet little kitten. I couldn't keep him due to a family illness and I tearfully walked into Animal Pantry looking for help for the little guy. They were already overwhelmed but still opened their arms to help in this time of need. I commend them and am SO appreciative of their kindness. Their staff immediately stepped up to see if he was ok and I know he is in good hands. I wish them all of the blessings and business in the world. I purchased a water dispenser for my birds cage about a week and a half ago. It was only $1.99 and I did not save the sales receipt. After a week I noticed there was a slight leak around the base and when the water moved in to the spot where the bird drinks from, it got too full and the water spilled on both sides. I went to the store and explained that it was leaking and the older lady next to the young girl who was helping me said, "SORRY THERE ARE NO EXCHANGES OR RETURNS UNLESS YOU HAVE THE RECEIPT". Actually if she had looked in the computer there would have been proof thati had purchased it there as I have a discount card for that store. But she repeated herself and I told her she was losing me as a customer and it was a shame cause I live close by. It's not about the money, its the principle. Because of $1.99 she will no longer have me purchasing the large bags of cockatiel food, treats and accessories for all my animals. Their loss! If they continue to treat their customers without consideration, they should not be in business. I'll shop at Petsmart or Petco. I will never go to animal pantry in West Babylon again! read more
