I think that for the things they do, $35 a night for boarding is a price that can't be beat. They offer group play or one on one play. Drop off and pick up are easy to navigate. Their location is very close to the Great Wolf lodge. Bryan was happy to show me the kennels upon request, Scott was kind enough to give us some tips on building our dog's confidence, and Gale was professional at all times. The presentation of the facility was clean, bright, and organized. The kennels are indoors with a platform that is attached to the wall. I can tell they spent a lot of time on their website as well, providing a plethora of info for you to indulge in should you have any questions. With that said, I do have some small qualms. I sent my dog's shot records as requested via email but I did not receive a confirmation of the receipt. When I called a couple days before our reservation to double check, I had learned that they did in fact receive my email but my dog did not have all his shot records present when I thought that he did. I was flustered at the thought of driving so far on the day of to potentially just getting rejected because we were missing information. Secondly, my dog definitely didn't use the potty enough. This may not have been at the fault of the trainers considering my guy probably held it in but he had thee longest pee of his life that I've ever seen after I picked him up. Since there's no knowing for sure how often supervision over potty breaks happen, my recommendation for all the first timers would be to not board your anxious dog. Overall we are satisfied with the experience.

We started with private classes after I got my sweet German Shepherd Dog puppy. As a previous GSD owner and having had other dogs too, I know the importance of a well trained and well balanced dog, especially with a larger breed. Private lessons went great! Always good to have a refresher on puppy training as they do t stay that way long. It's amazing the little things that can be forgotten over the years. We worked on all the basics, potty training, chewing, jumping and early commands like come, sit and drop it. What was also nice is being able to ask about any concerns. Learning about the psychology of days has been sooo very useful! It's so easy to think of our fur friends and apply human thoughts, feelings and behavior.but that just isn't the case! Their dogs and see the world different. Learning to see the world and situations through my sweet girls eyes has been a wonderful journey Lisa has taken us on! It has really enhanced the "basic training" you'd normally get with anyone else. We have also been able to attend a round of group classes. Even though this is not easy for me it's so so very important to expose young dogs to other dogs and people so they learn good behavior and just to have that exposure is good. The group classes were great! Lisa not only trained us people how to work with our dogs teaching commands (Let's face it, it's really people training we get because we're the ones going home and working with our fur babies everyday.lol) but she again gave us insight into why we should do things one way and not another way. Lisa explains these dog insights and behaviors so well that it just makes sense! I have continued with occasional private sessions as things have come up and wish I could do more group classes again, I just haven't had the ability to get us there unfortunately. I very highly recommend Lisa at Best Paws Forward for any training and behavior needs!! Thanks for everything you have done for us,Lisa I appreciate you and your help so very much!

I get complimented frequently of how well behaved my dog is. How calm she is and they can't believe that she's only 3. I also love that after class she gives the option for puppy play time.

I have done their basic obedience classes, sports classes, one on one training advice and also their chaotic canine course for my reactive dog. If you are looking to build a life-long bond with your dog through training and proper handling backed by real, current science, without using pain or negative training methods, and want to see positive and life-changing results, choose Happy Dog!

I gained a solid foundation with positive reinforcement training that set us up for success. I've also worked with Emma with a rescue dog who had major fear and aggression issues. I found Emma to be very knowledgeable and appreciated the advice and insight she gave us and the program she put us on. Don't expect them to train your dog for you, that's not something that any trainer can do unless you're prepared to essentially hire them as a part time employee for an extended period of time. Dog training takes time and consistency. Do expect them to set you up to be able to put in the time working with your dog, use positive reinforcement methods that are proven to help animal minds learn better than stressful punishment based methods (not to say I don't believe there's never a time to reprimand a dog for bad behavior, just saying reprimands don't help anyone learn good behavior which is the purpose of training) and answer your questions. I look forward to working with them in the future!

I'm so happy that we found them and utilized that offer. The training we've received there has been amazingly helpful. If we ever get another puppy, I would definitely consider coming back. Here are some things I would keep in mind if I could do it all over again: Pros: -We got lucky with the timing of when we got our puppy, and were able to get our class package at a discount for Black Friday. -Staff are very friendly and helpful whenever I called in. -I was nervous bringing in our puppy that wasn't fully vaccinated for Puppy Preschool. However, they did a great job keeping up with vaccinations as well as sanitation. -Sudee and Diva were excellent!!! While all 5 instructors that we had were experienced, I think they were the most energetic. I felt that the classes with them were more fun and went by so much faster. -Highly recommend Puppy Preschool. Our Alaskan Malamute was SO shy when we first took him to class. He hid behind the stool and would run away from other puppies that were much smaller than him. By the time he graduated, he was playing with other puppies! The classes also reminded us of all the different things that we needed to socialize/introduce our puppy to. There are so many things that I didn't think of, so I'm glad this class filled the gap. The initial months with our puppy were the most challenging, and these classes did such an amazing job stimulating/wearing him out!!! He would sleep for hours after we brought him back from class, and it was a really nice break for us to regain our sanity. It was also a nice space to ask questions and get reassurance as new puppy parents. All in all, I felt these classes were well worth it and I wish we squeezed in a couple more with our class credits. Cons: -Orientation was not very helpful. It felt like a sales pitch for the larger packages. Once we got home and tried to book online, it was unclear what the different packages were for, and we ended up booking the wrong one. Fortunately, I called in and Walker helped set us up with the correct package. -Our primary goal was to socialize our new puppy in a safe and controlled setting. For this purpose, the 12 credit group classes were more than enough. It felt like a struggle to use up our remaining credits based on the schedule/type of classes. -The website isn't user friendly, but they revamped it so it has improved. -You can't interchange credits for group classes vs playgroups, etc.
