I've had a few different experiences using PetSmart Grooming. I really loved the ease of booking appointments online, and the convenience of the service. Prices are average and I'm happy to pay to get my boys (Golden Retriever & Pit Bull) looking fresh. Before today I have only ever taken the Golden Retriever to grooming and it went OK. Nothing amazing, basic cut, they did have some trouble cutting his nails cause, shocker, he doesn't like it. Today I tried to take my Pit Bull for the first time and we showed up early but I realized I couldn't find his vaccination form. That's totally on me, but while they were busy with others I went out to my car to do a quick search and ended up calling my vet to have it emailed. (FYI, the service at the back of the store is horrible) When I came back in I got some attitude about being late. In the end they were going to work with me, but I just had a bad feeling about the way those at the vet desk and the grooming associates were looking at my Pitt Bull as if he was a monster and the way they were treating a customer who was about to spend nearly $300 for two dogs grooming services. Overall, I think they overbook and their associates, at least in grooming, don't actually like dogs the way people who work with dogs for a living should. I will find a groomer who is kind, appreciates my business, and doesn't treat me and my dogs as a hassle.

I don't usually write reviews, but I need to warn pet parents..... please do not bring your baby to this grooming center. My poodle was shaved down to the skin even though I requested they leave about 1/2 inch of hair. They shaved inside of his ears and were clearly very rough evident by the red marks left behind. They trimmed his top knot when I asked them to leave it at the length it was at... I was so shocked and left in tears because they completely butchered his look. We will not be going back!

This is one of the many cuts she received from her grooming !

I took my 3 year old Maltese to get groomed here a few days ago and when I picked her up she was extra fidgety and anxious and when I checked her she had a bunch of nix's on her paws and red marks which I know come from overly aggressive clippers with no guard attachment, and she was all choppy and uneven. I told the person checking me out about what I noticed but they blamed it on her being matted well her feet were not matted so that's B/S. Matted or not the place I usually go to which is in-between groomers at the moment which is why I didn't go there this time always made her look good and she wasn't so distraught either. I definitely won't be bringing her back. I Also posted a picture of her foot so everyone can see.

Adoptables, something I applaud Petsmart for donating space to.

We have already noticed a huge difference in Toby. Scott has an excellent understanding of dog behavior and is the only behaviorist I will recommend in the DFW area to other pet owners. We can't thank him enough for being instrumental in our process of creating a happy home with our girl, Pippa. I also highly recommend his library of dog behavior and training videos. They're an invaluable resource.

Yes you do have to take a "humans only" class. It gives the instructor more information about your dog, goals and aspirations, and what you look to achieve by taking classes at AFF. My aspirations included agility and more reliability because my dog (Australian Shepherd) was almost overwhelming me. Paula (owner) listened and felt like I was being heard for the first time. She didn't push a Gentle Leader or no-pull harness or some other tool on me, she introduced the methods AFF uses. My dog and I have taken a complete 180 of where we were almost a year ago. My knowledge of dog behavior and training has grown, and Captain is a more predictable, reliable dog. I can count on him to be off leash but under control and to listen to me. He's young and his moments, but I'm so happy where he is. If you want a great place to train your dog and gain the knowledge how to be a trainer, go to AFF. They also have behavioral classes like the Reactive Integration, made for nervous, aggressive, and reactive dogs; and sports classes like agility, Nosework, and obedience/rally. AFF has regular schedule of seminars ranging from getting the most out of your sports dog to behavior discussions led by professionals. Do your dog a favor and go to AFF.

The trainers, instructors, owner, attendees, etc. all were very sweet. Paula, the center owner is great. I can't go on enough about how pleasant she was. I immediately felt welcome when she showed me around the place and explained where we would be for the event. The place was so clean and tidy. There were multiple bathrooms, plenty of crate space for dogs, and refreshments. I couldn't find anything I would need that wasn't provided. There's even areas to break your dog outside. If you're in the market to compete or even do basic obedience with your dog, don't skip out on this place.

She has been so helpful increasing our Puppy's confidence and giving us the tools and advice to continue to improve in the areas he has been struggling. The barking indoors is now about 90% under control and his fear outside has improved quite a bit. We still have a bit to go with the little pup but we are continuing to work with Sammi to make this dog a certified good boy. The puppy also adores her and is super excited each time Sammi comes over for a session. Karma dog has been great for us and we will continue to go to their puppy and obedience classes.
