I don't typically write a review but feel people should know before they go! Let me take you on the wild journey haha I called to reschedule an appointment I had made (for monday), yet never had confirmed with the link... thinking no biggie to move it from monday to friday ... thinking since i never confirmed it they definitely cancelled! The lady on the phone said awesome, no problem! we can move that for you! I, then, received a text saying I would owe $25 for the switch... so I called back and questioned this because she never told me this on the phone. Out of the confusion, she ended up removing the charge and moved the appointment to friday- so, I am thinking all is well. Keep in mind: I also completely owned I wasn't aware of the rule that you don't have to "confirm" for cancellation charge to apply. This one was on me, but they were like no worries! I even received the confirmation that it was fixed and I owed nothing extra. Then friday (day of appointment) came. In the morning I receive a txt message saying that I now owed the $25 again. They have a 24 hr cancellation notice (that i learned about monday) so they gave this message 2 hours before appointment. And according to their policy..if i cancelled it.. I would now owe $50 :)... So I go to the appointment and kindly just ask for them to see my perspective of frustration. And while I was sharing my perspective (still talking) the lady turns her back (acting super annoyed with me) to me to grab a form that has the policy printed off and highlighted ready to prove me "wrong". Keep in mind, this is also AFTER i had stated "look i'll pay it but you need to see my side that this is horrible service and confusing as a customer. You can't say okay it's waived, then actually never mind in my opinion just horrible communication and frustrating as a customer trusting you. The lady barely looked at me and left me with just a "sorry" - they proceeded to charge me $211 (prices used to be $150 for a dog my dogs size he is a 40 pound goldendoodle). After asking for the owner to call me so that I could just explain how this was confusing, frustrating, and gain some perspective from them how this is okay- i have still heard nothing hours later. The POINT is: I would have just brought him the original day had I not been told the fee had been erased and it was okay! Just horrible customer service and felt completely not heard. I ended up having to pay for their lack of communication. Absolutely insane to me, will not be returning. read more

I will say - coming into this appointment I was pretty skeptical given some of the reviews. But oh my goodness! This place knocked it out of the park! I have a ~ 5 month Irish doodle and he was in desperate need of a grooming, but is SO squirmy I was truly expecting them to call me half way through saying they couldn't keep going. BUT, the groomer followed my inspiration picture perfectly and little Finn is SO cute, and cleaned up which was the main goal!! The whole thing (i booked a full grooming) took less than two hours which is such a plus - normally you drop off your pet at places but they're not done until the end of the day. The 15% off applies if you live in the Village too so I feel like it's a great value for what you're getting. read more

My puppy needed a trim, and the gal I typically use had an emergency. I absolutely love that groomer but she wasn't available. I trusted this place to have someone with experience to know how to handle a golden doodle puppy, and was told they have notes from previous grooming. I was apparently wrong! When we got home, his privates had what to be burn marks, (going to the vet tomorrow) and his underbelly was shaved to his skin (yet, he wasn't matted underneath there) and the hack job on his legs is beyond embarrassing! It looks like someone who's never used a grooming tool before. The amount of money spent, we expect an expert cut every time! There are too many places to choose not to be better than this! Barkin creek has been a one stop shop for all of my dogs needs! Bruno is looking so handsome after seeing their new groomer today being there only an hour! Staff is always friendly and contacting them for a new appointment by text is the best. I am happy paying for my pup to get a groom here if it means it will be this fast and easy. read more

I'm sad I didn't love it here! I booked my goldendoodle pup here for a groom. For the most part, the groom was what I was wanted (I wish we would have followed more of the photo but that's okay). I was fine with it! However 48 hours after picking him up, he had developed two really bad ear infections. I'm assuming it's from getting water in his ears, something grooming places should know to really avoid. This led to a trip to the vet and lots of $$ later. The service was great and the place was really nice but if I come back, I'll definitely emphasize the importance of keeping his ears out of the water and be more strict on the type of cut I want. read more

I rarely post reviews on any site for any business.............but today I am writing a review for Barkin Creek Dallas! My dog, a year old lab was going to Barkin Creek weekly if not more then one day a week! He seemed to be enjoying himself as he is still in the lab puppy stage. I would watch on the live cam and most days everything seemed fine. It is the employee's that are my concern! The dog watchers and the management.............they lack customer service skills and frankly I don't think any of them are dog lovers........I think they are they because they need a job! one star is terrible to give them..................but what they deserve..........it is the employee's who are bringing this place down............not the pups that go there! read more

I love living at the village and love having access to a dog daycare center but now that the price has increased I will no longer be able to take my dog 38 dollars a day is insane too expensive please go back to $25. Not everyone at the village can afford expensive stuff in The Village has become for the rich not for the people who don't have a lot of money. read more

Our dog has been doing half days at Barkin' Creek every week day for 7 months now and just loves it! She has some separation anxiety, but everyone was so kind and one of the staff members there, Tonie, has just been the sweetest to her. Our dog knows Tonie by name now and always wags and pulls when she sees her! We have never seen this attachment in our dog at any daycare before. We often check the webcam and have seen Tonie and other staff members holding her, playing with her, and giving lots of pets. We also love that the staff there know all the dogs by name. We feel incredibly safe with our dog in their care and could not recommend them enough. We also have never found a doggy daycare facility as open, bright, and free from bad odor as Barkin' Creek! The dogs there always seem happy with lots of wagging. We have had grooming services there once and will certainly be using them again. Also, her favorite treat on the planet is the Barkin' Creek Cow Bark! Highly, highly recommend. read more

This review would've been 5 stars before yesterday. I'm hesitant to write this bc I've loved Barkin Creek. My dog loves hanging with his friends and the employees are friendly and really care about the dogs and their owners. The 1 star review is due to the recent changes. The prices were increased and it is completely outrageous. I've been taking my dog their for over a year. There was a price increase a couple months ago and as of yesterday, their was another huge increase. The package I typically get is now OVER $200 more than what I was paying. I'm shocked and extremely disappointed. In addition to the ridiculous price increase, they have implemented new rules for the dogs (including excessive barking). If broken, the dog gets a strike. 3 strikes and you're out for 3 months! I'm not too worried about the rules, but seems excessive for DOGS. This isn't your neighborhood dog daycare anymore, unfortunately. If this is permanent, I might have to find other arrangements for my dog. I'm so sad, but with rent increasing significantly as well, Barkin Creek is pricing out its own neighborhood. :( read more

We have had great experiences here before but our last grooming was very frustrating. I took my two dogs in for an appointment and off the bat, I knew this was going to go south once I meet the groomer. Our previous groomer was great, she asked what we wanted and took time to greet the dogs. This new groomer approached us without saying hi and if she did it was under her breath. From the start, she already started saying that she is going to need to shave my dog's ears, but only the inside because they were matted (little secret...they weren't). I said that the INSIDE, was fine and she continued to talk and disregard me and my partner's concerns. Once I finally got my word in, it felt like it went in one ear and out the other. I tried to set in stone what I wanted but she would not stop talking and listen. At this point, I knew she was a bit more of an egocentric type of gal. I just wanted my dog's hair around the eyes trimmed along with a sanitary clean-up. When my partner went to go pick up my dog, his ears and a little around his ears were completely shaved down to the skin. She unevenly cut the hair around his mouth, body etc, it really looked like someone who never groomed a dog...groomed a dog. She did his hair on his underside which is good, but the hair on his legs is uneven or not cut so I'm assuming she was picking and choosing what she wanted to cut. My other dog just came in for a wash and was 100% good to go, but she was also done by another groomer. Normally don't write reviews, but this was not good at all. Don't want to fault Barkin Creek for this, the rest of the stuff is super helpful and positive all other times. read more

Before today this review would have been 5 stars. My pup has been several times for day care and the staff is usually very friendly and attentive. They have even taken the time to call when they noticed she had an infection (which she was already on medicine for). For that treatment I would give 5 stars. Today I went to drop her off for daycare and was told that they did not have enough staff and she could not stay. They said they only had one person for daycare (even there 3 employees were standing in the front of the store) and 14 reservations. If you have 14 reservations, why wouldn't you staff appropriately? I WAS going to drop my pup at Barkin' Creek, have lunch at the Round House, and have coffee/study from Buzz & Bustle. BUT NOW, since I have to leave the Village to take my pup to her old daycare (shout-out to Urban Paws for never turning us away) I will grab lunch and study elsewhere. read more
