We have taken our puppy to Petsmart in Dawsonville for two years. This last time was the worse experience ever. I called the store to speak to the manager and was told that I could take him to the Vet if it got worse. I then contacted the corporate office after no apology or empathy. On Memorial Day I spoke to the store manager who seemed empathetic and kind until I took our pet to the our vet and was told this location sends them patients all the time and that they have a running tab??? The manager reassured me this did not happen often and to have ​our vet tell us otherwise was disturbing. I will never take our baby back there again. This was horrible. This PetSmart location is close to my home, probably a 5 to 10 minute drive, depending on the traffic. I think this location is on the smaller side compared with other PetSmarts I've been to. I come here to shop for my dog, and I've brought her to the store before. This location has grooming and boarding services, but I don't use either of these services. This location also has a Banfield Pet Hospital onsite, which I haven't used. PetSmart is in a long strip mall with lots of big businesses. Parking is readily available in the large, free parking lot, as the parking lot is way too big for all of the stores. Good customer service is hit or miss here. Some of the employees readily seek customers who need help in the store, while other employee seem to actively avoid customers, hurrying away whenever they feel a customer needs assistance. This store seems to carry mostly quality items, and much them come with higher prices. However, many of the same items can be found at Walmart and Target for much lower prices. However, PetSmart provides price matching (with limitations) with competitors' prices, so check with the employees to see if this applies to your circumstance. This PetSmart store has lots of live animals for sale. Not only lots of fish can be found here; I saw hamsters, mice, snakes, lizards and birds just waiting for someone to take them home. PetSmart has things to keep your pets healthy, clean, fed, clothed, groomed, housed ... and I think that about covers it all. I'm amazed at how many different items PetSmart actually stocks in this store. There are so many types of dog food available here, and at different price points. The most recent time I was here, a few weeks ago, I was looking for a specific type of shampoo for my dog, but I looked at the price and knew I could get the same thing for a less expensive price at Target just down the street. I had such an amazing experience at Petsmart with David!!!!! it's early in the season and my dog had gotten a couple of fleas and they were making him completely mad. David was so totally engaged and concern for my babies health and an effective solution with minimal side effects. He spent so much time with us and listen to all of my concerns, doted on my baby and we left there very very happy campers! Conversely, we had just come from Petco on Roswell Road, which had no customer service and seem to not even want any Customers in their store. From the grooming staff to the cash register clerks, no one seemed like they wanted to be there. It couldn't have been a more opposite experience at Petsmart! I'm very upset with how PetSmart treated us today when we brought our nine-month-old show-quality Dogo Argentino puppy in for grooming. We had an appointment, and they said it was perfectly fine to bring her. She is not aggressive, but we brought her in with a muzzle on because she chews furniture and we didn't want her chewing up our car. As soon as we arrived at the store, we took the muzzle off. She played with other puppies and children and was a perfect dog inside. They refused service because she was muzzled when we first came in. Online, the only thing it says about muzzling is that they won't take your dog if she's aggressive and must be muzzled. Other customers were touching her and loving on her, calling her beautiful. Kids were also petting her and showing affection. She was a perfect dog. There was no reason she couldn't be bathed. I have four other dogs that go here, and now I will not be returning. The Griffin PetSmart location is absolutely ridiculous. We went to PetSmart on the same day, and they took her without any problem. She is getting a bath, her teeth brushed, and the whole Christmas package. I do not recommend the Georgia Griffin PetSmart location. Very disappointed--completely unacceptable. PetSense made it clear that it seemed like PetSmart just didn't want to do our dog's grooming. read more

I left my dog at the Petsmart's PetHotel at this location for a week and I sincerely regret it. During my trip, they called to inform me that my dog was experiencing diarrhea. I immediately paid for them to treat my dog and to give her the necessary meds to assist her. When I return to pick her up she had poop all over her feet and in her fur around her butt. It was very clear this was a build up of poop over several days. According to the staff my dog had received a bath prior to pick up which is a complete lie as you will see in the pictures. I know what my dog's fur looks like after a bath and the dried up poop only confirms my suspicions that she was not washed at all. In addition to my dog being filthy, she has been sneezing non stop, she's lethargic and not her energetic usual self. She has an appointment with a vet today. When I picked her up I was also informed that they switched my dog's food after she became sick. They did not ask for my consent to do this. I wouldn't be surprised if they did this on day one and this is the reason she became sick in the first place. I trusted this company to watch my dog during my time away. Big mistake. Never again!! He only wants to address him as them/they and continued to tell me that I was trying to make him conform to my beliefs and standards. Do not take your dog here for grooming and if for some reason you still feel obliged do not have Andy be your groomer. I took my dog here yesterday for grooming. She a sweet dog, but apprehensive if she doesn't know someone at first. She wouldn't let him put the neck leash on. I then said to just let me do it. He just kept saying over and over "I need to manipulate the dog" and was very oppositional on simply letting me put their leash on my dog to be taken back. Finally another grooming tech came over and suggested to let me do it and then leave. Funny how the first thing that I suggested worked right away. The grooming itself after wasn't bad, but bad on this I'll only be getting pet supplies only going forward. Horrible policies . Horrible, if it was possible to leave zero or negative stars I would. I understand policies but nowhere is it stated that you must not have ANY vaccinations within 48 hours of a service. You only stated requiring rabies vaccines more than 48 hours before the appointments, I understand that for the safety. But if you do require no vaccines within 24 to 48 hours you should state that at any point in the process, booking the appointment, the numerous emails you sent, confirming the appointments and even the phone call Confirming your appointment. I was having a simple wash and nail trim done. If they require no vaccinations within 48 hours, then they should state so as you're booking it, when they send the confirmation email, or even when they call to confirm your appointment. I understand rabies, or anything with a needle for that matter, but nowhere is it stated. I believe they're confusing their policies. I planned a family vacation for 4th of July weekend so being the responsible individual that I am, I booked boarding for my 16 month old baby the first week of May. I communicated with PetSmart the day of boarding, 4th of July at approximately 11:00 am, and confirmed my baby was still scheduled for boarding at 8:00 PM that evening...great. I prepare to tie up loose ends around 6:00 before dropping my baby off and noticed I missed a (1) call. I checked the voicemail that PetSmart is closing early therefore if I cannot drop my baby off by 6:00, they will not be able to board her. I repeat...1 call...1 message. I had minimal time to find a sitter because I have to be at the airport at 5:30 am. So I'm on very limited time and do not have family that I could drop her off with. I could not afford to panic and luckily for me Rover introduced me to a fantastic lady named April in Roswell that was able to watch my Lyric. I even sat with April for an hour and she was perfect. I am very disappointed in the outcome from my puppy's grooming services today. I have had her groomed one other time and I had a very great experience with Brie! However, today I was placed with a groomer named Victoria and she was terrible!!! Results from Brie versus Victoria were extremely different. Other than the bath that my puppy received it looks like that was the only service provided to her even though i was charged full price. I took pictures of my first visit to PetSmarts grooming visit and today looked nothing like these results. Victoria also had a very rude demeanor and her customer service has convinced me to try to find another groomers from this point on! PetSmart Acworth apparently only know how to shave dogs. Took my golden there, he is still with puppy hair and had no matts anywhere. Asked for furminator and outline trim. They shaved his legs front and back and complete back leg hair. So thought well just a fluke. Took my two shelties there today and they said all they could do is shave themwouldn't even wash them said it would cause matts and they aren't allowed. Obviously they are too lazy or don't know how to groom shelties. So sad I used to use petsmart in other locations all the time but I will now never go back. Same for petco grooming. My pup has been here twice now, with the second time being the longest stay at Petsmart's PetHotel at this location. The second time around basically solidified how my pooch would not be returning!! I picked him up on Tuesday, 10/13 and before we could even get out of the store, he pee'd and pooped in the aisles. Let me know that he was locked in a cage all day without being out for restroom breaks. I mean, he is fully house trained and those mistakes are not of his norm so I immediately knew something was OFF! I went back in to inquire about when was the last Time my pup had be walked, they assured me it was just "excitement" pee/poop and he had just gone. Every day that we have been home since then, he has had very runny diarrhea and has been lethargic in my home. Again, he is house trained and has only ever "gone" in the house after I have picked him up from this pet hotel stay. He has not been his normal self and my assumptions are that they probably gave him food that wasn't his (explaining the diarrhea) and let him sit in a cage all weekend in his own mess (explaining the going in the house). Him being lethargic is concerning since he is usually not so I am hoping that is nothing too serious. All in all, if I could give less than one star, I would. When i said he had his rabies tag on showing his rabies shots are up to date she told me people make those fake and i need printed out paperwork - really? As with most "super-pet-stores" this location is large with high ceilings and offers a large selection. A bit more warehouse than smaller, local stores, however the pricing in general is much cheaper. I only pick up a few items for the cats - they especially love some of the all natural canned food items. We don't take our pets here for any of the pet shop services - seems like most of the negative reviews revolve around them so I can't speak for them. The positives are the less-expensive prices and relatively easy check-outs. Also they have quite a variety of items and critters to consider as pets (birds, lizards, hamsters, you get the idea) - I don't know much about that so can't speak towards them - they all look like food to my cats, and then a messy splotch when they come back up on the carpet. Another positive is the friendly attitude of the staff - they genuinely seem to care about pets and are glad to be there to help - quite different from going to the other box stores. You may want to sigh up for their version of a frequent shoppers card - there are some discounts that may apply if you do. Parking and access/entry into this shopping center can be tricky, especially during rush hours - the main access is via Perimeter Center West (becomes Abernathy) and during peak hours it's jammed. read more

I'd give it 0 stars if I could. I came in to get Karma's anal glands expressed. It's a walk-in that takes 2-second to do. For the second time they were "too busy" to do it. Again, they were "not taking walk-ins". Karma was so uncomfortable. She's a dog who can't vocalize until it's at the end and she's dragging her bottom. I came in that day and could not come in the next day due to work. Regardless, if you've stopped taking walk-ins then PUT IT ON YOUR WEBSITE. Month after month this should not be an issue. It took me longer to check in then express her glands. That's just laziness on your part. The ONLY reason you agreed to do it is because I had to get the manager over and complain and he had to ask and it was a whole thing. I find that to be a waste of everyone's time. Was it really necessary to get the Manager involved for something so quick? Also, I think I was overcharged. I usually pay $10 and I was charged $12 with no explanation. This facility has now been "too busy" for Karmas anal glands 2x, LOST OUR BLANKET in the pets hotel 1x, Karma was released from the hotel with a chewed leash and no explanation 1x (had to call them and after a tense phone call they agreed to a new, free leash but they weren't going to at first because Karma has a Lupine Leash and I could send it back free but that leaves us with no leash!), and messed up our reservation 1x. I am so angry with them!! I just went there because Karma was so uncomfortable yesterday but I work very hard to go to Brookhaven now that it's open even thought it's really out of our way and Karma gets car sick. It's Saturday and I stopped by to get frontline flea for my pup. Took the card to the register and was told by a very rude employee that they did not have a 3 month supply, only a 6 month. I'm not sure if she was trying to sell more or just being rude but I suspected they had a 3 month supply. I left and went to Costco and decided to call to see if I could speak to someone else and ask if they had a 3 month supply for a 5-22 lb dog. The woman I spoke to (Tosha) said they did so I went back over to a huge line with one register open on a Saturday. Interestingly they had it waiting so I played it cool a little frusterated and explained that they had waisted quite a bit of my time. The employee (with an attitude) rang me up and I was happy to leave. I got out to my car and realized they charged me for a 6 month supply. So... now I have to go back in wait and line and receive more "service with an attitude". The employee called the manager when she saw me come back in because she knew they overcharged me. When it came to my turn after waiting again, the manager asked me what the problem was and I told her they over charged me. To that, Tosha ( the manager ) added to the unpleasantness of the situation by loudly letting me know that they "DID NOT" overcharge me before even looking at the receipt. Then when the employee explained that they had charged we for 6 months incorrectly she abruptly just walked a way. Not a professional. Very rude, but quite sure this is normal behavior for the manager and the employees. Employees look to managers for leadership and tone. It is clear by that Tosha provides none. Unfortunate that all 3 people I encountered were rude. It all starts at the top. Check their other reviews, at less than 2.5 stars this place is a disappointment. read more

They said she did "surprisingly well" and when I put her in the car, I saw she was bleeding due to her nail being filed to short. I wish I saw this before tipping them! When I haven't kept up with brushing and my dog's coat has become matted, Brooke has advised me ahead of time what she can and can't do - like if she'd have to shave them down to get out the tangles. On 5/21/19 I contacted Petsmart via phone to schedule an appointment for a Shih Tzu/Shorkie that I am caring for. I was greeted promptly, although the person arranging the appointment was having some issues with understanding my request/concerns and finding the fur baby that I am caring for. She finally was able to work out the technicalities and We scheduled an appointment for 5 pm, I arrived at 4:55pm. When we arrived the staff seemed a little overwhelmed, but I patiently waited to be seen. I was greeted by Brooke, where I discussed that I would like him groomed with a Teddy Bear Cut. Brooke seemed a little frantic in general. I inform to her that his guardian does not want him cut bald. Brooke informed me that he had some matting. I reiterated that I dont want him bald. She told me that around his neck, There was some matting and he he will be short there, but his torso was fine. We go to the wall to look at lengths. I pick out the length, and I leave the poor pup that I'm watching with Petsmart. I live 2.4 miles away from the store. I didn't even make it back home before I received a call from Candice M (Pet Salon Manager), who stated that they attempted to groom him by pre-shaving him. She informed to me that he got agitated and they wouldn't be able to finish the grooming, but did shave his leg/thigh. I get to Petsmart to pick him up. It took a while for them to retrieve the pup. What I saw next was terrifying!!!! Mind you I am caring for a pet that I am not the owner of. This is unacceptable!!! How does a leg transition to his torso?!? Candice M, then goes on to tell me about how they couldn't finish him or make him more presentable, due to them not wanting to harm him. She then stated on and on about how he may need to be sedated to be groomed. He's never had to be sedated to be groomed. I asked Candice, how on the phone, you told me only a leg was shave, and I get there to pick him up and he is butchered? Did they attempt to comb/detangle prior to giving him a buzzcut? How is this a pre-shave?!? There is nothing left to shave/cut after the pre-Shave. The poor puppy is traumatized, not to mention his owner. I then asked Candice why was she the one who preformed the services and not Brooke? I was told that Brooke was running behind. Candice M, went on about her 9 years of experience, and she that she was helping Brooke out. There had to be some other way to calm him down. If he was that agitated that required a cone to be placed on him, they shouldn't have even messed with him. Did they get so frustrated and upset that they just did whatever? They should have contacted me. As I was leaving I did get to speak to Candice (The Floor M.O.D.) who was very helpful, empathetic and understanding. However, the grooming department needs more qualified, trained staff who can handle and address all concerns. I will not be bring any pets to the grooming department EVER again!!!! read more

DO NOT BUY FISH FROM HERE, THEY HAVE ICH and I'm sure their tanks and filtration system is totally contaminated! I went there last week on June 13th to buy 3 fantail goldfish for pets! When I woke up on June 14th one had already died, my black Moore had a white spot on him and was hanging out in the bottom of my tank not moving really and the 3rd seemed in good health. I had to go out of town for the weekend and when I came back on Monday the Moore was dead and today June 18th the 3rd one isn't doing so well and is showing signs of ich on its fin and tail :-/. This is so F'd up! I guess I'm going to get my money back today! Good thing Petsmart has a 2 week guarantee for its fish. We dropped our sweet beagle basset mix to the PetHotel for boarding during our wedding weekend. Everyone we talked to was very kind and I would have called it a positive experience except that our pup came back COVERED IN FLEAS. Our dog is on frontline, of course, so they were dying and not really biting him, but it was totally disgusting. To make it worse, we came right back and asked for a flea bath on the house and the manager at the PetHotel refused and gave us the hardest time. She said that we accepted fleas as a risk of boarding our dog. But we've been boarding our pup for years at other places and that's never happened. It was so surprising to us that, after we had paid $85 to board him for two days, they didn't want to cover a flea bath for us. To summarize, beware of the PetHotel, which doesn't properly inspect dogs for fleas and is rude and unhelpful when your baby comes home to you covered in full grown adult fleas. read more

Would love to say it was a great experience boarding my dog but it wasn't. I left Charlotte for 2 1/2 days and when I picked her up she was yellow all over from sitting/sleeping in her own urine. She smelled so bad it was noticeable just her laying under my feet. I would argue this was negligence! How can a company stay in business that allows dogs to be in a cage so long that they pee on themselves repeatedly in a 3 day period of time. Talked with the staff and they were incredibly rude, pet hotel manager called at 7 AM?! And then hung up on me. Only positive was the store manager apologized, refunded my money and offered to pay for a grooming for Charlotte. Please use another place for boarding. read more

The drop off service! They will have you wait 20-30 minutes before they take your babies back. They will lie over the phone and when you get there say something else, the communication between the coworkers is very poor! I do not recommend anyone to go to this banfield for their babies. This seems to be a very nice Petsmart. I had to return some stuff from another store and I was in the area so I stopped in here. With Bella in tow, I marched in with my arms full of return items and waited briefly for a cashier. The young man was very nice and he took all my stuff, asked me if I planned to do any other shopping, and then kept my stuff at the checkout until I was ready to leave. We perused the toys and treats and Bella picked a few things out. It was Sunday so a bit crowded and hectic but I can't really blame this on the store. This was, in part, due to an adoption day occurring outside the front entrance (I might just suggest that the adoption people try just a little bit to not gather right in front of the entrance while chatting because it does make it a bit tough to navigate in and out of the store with a dog on a leash and a bag full of stuff). When we returned to check out, the cashier was again super nice and friendly. He efficiently processed the returns and laughed when Bella kept going around to his side of the checkout to try and lay on the dog bed we were returning. And, he asked if he could give her a treat when we left and was not at all offended when she didn't take it (she doesn't like dog biscuits). They have plentiful parking here and it's pretty easy to get in and out of if you're in the neighborhood. read more

Horrible service - overcharged for grooming - I have a beagle and a black shelter dog that is the same size as the beagle - both fully grown. Noticed that they had charge me $10 more saying the black dog was a lab - very obvious she is not. The manager came upon request to the cash register. He did not look at me or make eye contact. Just commented to the cashier that it was funny that I did not say anything the past three groomings and walked off. Nothing was done. I guess if you overcharge someone three times it makes it okay to justify it going forward. I will never use them again. I will buy my supplies off of amazon in the future and have them groomed elsewhere. read more
