I stopped in while waiting for a to-go order at a nearby restaurant to be ready for pick-up. I was hoping to see some cute birds, cats or puppies, but no such luck. There were a couple of pups getting groomed, but they looked a bit stressed out already, so I didn't think it would be nice to stare! I found several cute toys for my 3 fluff-babies though. I spent $40 in less than 10 minutes and it would've been more had I not been doing in-store price comparisons with other stores. Let's face it PetSmart isn't exactly budget-friendly! I found several of the exact same items online price significantly lower. I was at PetSmart, I couldn't leave without getting my pets SOMETHING, so I did... but I would not do it again. read more

My pup just completed the 6-week beginner training class. Taylor, the trainer, was excellent. There were four dogs in the class, and they all learned some basic skills and gained from the socialization. PetSmart offers several different group classes: Puppy, Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and some other specialized classes. You can also opt for a private class, but I know the socialization with other dogs was good for my pup. Positive reinforcement is used the out the class, and Taylor was very patient. She is experienced and knowledgeable. I am planning to take my pup to the Intermediate classes soon. read more

I am very disappointed with the service they gave my dog. It is honestly sad how they could do a doggie like that. I left my dog for a trim and it got serviced by Alexis S and when I came back I was in shock. She was left borderline bald and she looked like a complete different dog. You can see her poor pink skin and she looked very sad. Don't bring your dog here especially not with Alexis. On top of that they didn't even trim her nails. On Tuesday 8/27, we took both our Goldens to be groomed. My husband told the groomers how we like the dogs cut and made it a point to let them know that our 7month old golden, with beautiful feathers and such, not be cut short. We wanted her trimmed with feathers left, just cleaned up. Well, we go to pick them up when done and see that our older golden is cut just as asked, but our younger golden is cut so short she resembles a Lab. When my daughter sent me their pic at work, I could have cried. I'm so furious and upset, I could scream. If you have no idea what you're doing, then please don't work in this kind of business. Nothing I can do about now regarding the cut, but I will pass this experience on to all I know !! read more

I couldn't believe how rude and unprofessional the team is. I was 10 min early to my appointment and they were extremely rude and upset I was early. I have never had rudeness inflected that way, the girl taking my dog called my puppy aggressive and biting - when she was just licking her and being a puppy. Then she had the audacity to say that if she aggressively bites during her service, she will be terminated from being serviced here. I informed her she is a puppy, and she's never ever have shown aggressiveness or bit anybody. I understand that she has to explain rules and regulations, but how come that was never said to me the last two times I came to visit and also there's a way to say things, and how to treat people . I am giving them a 2 star because my actual groomer was awesome and so sweet! I hope this review will help management train on customer service !! This is my go to neighborhood pet store for all dog stuff. This includes no additives dry treats, tinned food, kibble, mental stimulation toys, grooming, and shampoos/conditioners. As the name says the store is dog friendly so it's convenient taking my dog in during such extreme weather conditions. The customer service is super fast and absolutely no delays in check in or getting questions answered. Since I am a regular, I save on coupons and cash back for my purchases by accruing points. I took my wheaten to be groomed here. My dog was unrecognizable. They actually shaved her tail! They did not communicate with me on why they needed to do this. I also stopped in after two hours and was told another hour because she was biting. My dog has never bit and I asked why didn't you call me if she bit someone, to which the girl was like she didn't break the skin. I'm sorry, but my definition of a bite is breaking skin, I don't know what she meant by biting. I will never return to this location. On a positive note the place was well staffed and for the most part friendly. Especially the checkout cashiers. 5pm on a Tuesday, at least 3 groomers in the salon and none do nail trims! Seriously!?!!

Really unsure of how to rate my experience in the salon. I will preface this by saying the groomer, Emmerson, gets 5 stars right off the bat. I walked in on a Wednesday afternoon for an appt and there was dog fur from several different dogs all over the floor in the customer area. The desk with different info for customers was covered in fur. I get this is a salon, but CLUMPS of fur shouldn't be on the floor in the waiting area. Imagine walking into any salon and there are clipped nails and clumps of hair all over the floor where you wait. The girl at the desk (not my groomer) asked my dog's name and then said "oh. She'll be back in a couple minutes". No idea what she meant by that so I said okay and waited with my dog. The entire time I waited, she complained to no one in particular about her job and how it effected her. It was super awkward to be around. They later remarked it was a pretty slow day so my dog shouldn't take too long. My dog did very well with Emmerson! She was super sweet and he seemed to enjoy her. His paws are in great shape, he smells amazing, and his teeth are cleaned. He doesn't get trimmed so I cannot speak to that, but everything I paid for was completed and my dog seemed happy. read more

This is purely for the grooming. The store, I love, always good customer service. However with the grooming, I wasn't going to write a review about it but after an incredible experience with other groomers, I decided they definitely did something to my poor dog. Just so you know, my dog is very active since he's half border collie. The experience I had here actually made me worried about ever taking him to get groomed and made me contemplate learning the whole process myself. When I picked up my dog, he was still damp. I was told he had soiled himself in the crate 3 times so they had to wash him multiple times. He was too active to clip toe nails or trim that they only got 2 done. No real trim was done anywhere on body (paw butt etc). I paid extra for the whole special with bandana cookie and coupon book (?) which none i got. The entire thing cost me a little under 100$ only for me to bring back a traumatize dog. He hated me holding his paw even for the "high five" command, which he loved before. Fast forward, I took to another grooming facility, only to be told my dog let them do EVERYTHING perfectly. Like what? were we talking the same dog? needless to say, I will never return for this. read more

This review is groomer specific - the rest of the store is your standard pet shop. Im not a super picky person. I am very tolerant to humans doing things wrong and making mistakes. The service is the same every time - shitty. "It'll be 10 mins" for a nail trim since you can't make an appt online for nails only. It's never 10 minutes. I delay going bc I don't have a 2 hour window to wait to get her nails trimmed. Then when I finally venture out of the house, I call first to make sure they're not crazy busy. The response is always "we're not busy now but idk what it'll look like in an hour." Ok great - I'm on my way! I get there and the computers are down and it'll be about 10 mins. Or they're finishing up another dog and it'll be about 10 mins. IT'S NEVER 10 MINS!!! If you need 30 mins, tell me you need 30 minutes. Today I sat on a bench waiting for my dogs name to be called over the speaker (which sounds like someone whispering in the distance so if you miss it, you're screwed). 30 minutes go by. Nothing. Today I walked out and I will NEVER be walking back in. Chance after chance after chance and it's always the same shitty experience. The only reason I go there is bc I just moved and don't have a new groomer yet. We are done and I don't recommend anyone go to this place. There's nothing smart about this place. Not to mention the tiniest little waiting room and no where to go outside of the room except to roam the store with your dog while you wait. Will potentially waste your time and possibly injure your dog I have been bringing my dog here for six years. Recently I made an appointment through the app where I made it clear my dog was old and his legs were getting a bit weak though no more than the last year and a half or so that I had brought him in. I had to wait a week and a half for the appointment. When I brought him in some very young groomer went to pet him and he flopped on his side for pets and belly rubs. He was a bit excited but as I had already mentioned in the app he was old, blind, and excitable. All of a sudden she said she felt unsafe grooming him. For reference we are talking about a 14 year old Lab who has NEVER hurt a fly and at this point couldn't do so even if he wanted to. She gets a store manager who says she needs to ask the new salon manager who is about to return from lunch. I wait about 15 minutes and let my dog walk the store a bit before the store manager approaches me and says the salon manager flat out refuses service. My dog has ALWAYS had a bit of a problem with slick surfaces but this has never been an issue in the SIX YEARS I've brought him to this very store! Now they are telling me he slipped and thus they have to refuse service. I'm getting all this from the store manager while the salon manager is apparently hiding who-knows-where. I ask if we can just get the last groomer who worked with my dog recently since apparently THEY didn't have a problem with my dog. Nothing. In trying to cover for her salon manager the store manager lets slip that it's because of all the ACCIDENTS AND VET BILLS the salon has had to cover recently because of all the accidents they've had and pet injuries that resulted from them. She said the loss of regular customers is less money than the cost they've had to cover in vet bills. They hand me a slip of paper with another salons address printed on it as if this is a regular discussion they've had. At this point I'd RATHER take my dog somewhere else than risk these inexperienced kids hurting him. But my further question is, what is the point of putting his condition on the app when CLEARLY no one read it?! What if it was something more serious and they took him in and hurt him in some way that could easily have been avoided if they'd just READ what a customer writes on the app? If they'd have reviewed it they could have called me up nearly two weeks ago when I made the appointment or anytime between then and now and saved me the time wasted in driving in, getting the run around for a half an hour then driving home. At BEST, entirely unprofessional. They didn't even offer any discounts or coupons or anything to try and keep my regular store business after effectively kicking my dog out after six years of customer loyalty to this store in general. At WORST, this is a dangerous place to take your pet for care. Inexperienced staff afraid of their own shadow after sending multiple dogs to the vet due to falls and spills. There are so many dog groomers in the local area. Don't put your dog at risk or waste your time or money on this farce of a store. read more

I brought in my little senior poodle for a groom. Part way through they called to say they couldn't continue because he got so stressed he had a nosebleed. When I arrived the environment was definitely stressful and my sweet boy was very nervous. I didn't pay, they told me I could bring him in to finish whenever worked for me. The next morning I noticed he was licking his back end. When I looked the groomer clearly had gotten the skin really badly with the clippers. I suspect that they got his skin and he put his nose to it to lick and they thought the blood on his nose was from a nosebleed. Regardless, I cannot recommend this shop. It's a bad environment. Do not take your pets to be groomed here, the groomers lied to me and canceled my appointment telling me my dog was so matted on her back legs I needed to take her to an EMERGENCY VET after they did an assessment of my dogs fur when they took my dog to the back and didn't tell me or show me where this mat was . Just she was soo matted they couldn't work on her, handed me my dog and a number for a vet. She didn't even had noticeable mats on her so that's why I was just like, "excuse me?". I was just in complete shock, and insulted. Normally the groomer will stand at the counter and exam your dog, so obviously I thought it was weird when they just grabbed her and ran her to a cage in the back then just come back and say nope. I'd been a loyal customer for 5 years bringing my dog 3-4 times a year, she's had little mats and I've never had a problem they just had to shave her a little! The manager told me the groomers had said the mats were in her armpits ...so completely different than what they told me. And also I checked there's nothing there...she's totally good. The manager seemed like he didn't believe me, just believed his groomers cause he said they looked him straight in the eye. So yeah I wasn't told why my dog needed to go to a vet or what they would do to her there, I really wasnt given any information at all. Just that nope they're not going to groom her and also pretty much called me a bad dog mom. Cool Petsmart. As someone that spends unprecedented amounts of money on her dog for her health and well being...you can image my shock and just complete disbelief. I actually came home and literally brushed my dog out, cause I couldn't believe it ans guess what she didn't even have mats! It just seems like the groomers didn't want to spend time working on my dog and just lied about it. Had they explained why or showed me why or told me anything besides what they did I wouldn't be writing this. Yeah I've had mostly bad experiences here. I have a Golden retriever. One such appointment I had made weeks in advance as they are always booked and busy. I finally show up and they call me early to pick up my dog. The groomer had "went home sick." So my dog was half groomed and they refused to have anyone else finish her as they were "busy." Poor customer service. The next time, they groomer gave my Golden razer burn behind both ears so she scratched it like crazy, obviously got infected and had nasty green drainage. I took her there and told them to fix it. They had the vet give me a cone and antibiotics and took a couple weeks for her to heal. This both was the location in Carmel. read more

The grooming center has cut back hours to close at 5p on week days - which is super inconvenient for anyone who works. They don't post these hours online at all - I called a few weeks ago and they said they now close at 6p. So I brought my dog for for grooming at 5:30p today and was told they now close at 5p. The place is extremely crowded then during the weekend. Recommendation: adjust hours some nights to stay open later, and POST updated hours online! Pet owners: I'd suggest going elsewhere. read more

This location sold me a inflatable donut for post surgery for my dog that had a hole in it and was used covered in fluid. When I returned it and bought another, it was also used with a hole in it. This prevented me from having what I needed for when my dog finished his surgery. When the manager was told about it, she rolled her eyes and walked away. We have been to this store roughly 15 times in the past few months. The employees are always very friendly and helpful. Today I'm writing a review because the last two times we went we were buying fish. Both times the same girl helped us. Her name is Grace she is so patient with my two boys who asked her lots of questions and took forever to make up their minds. She never made them feel rushed or stupid for asking questions. She was kind, knowledgeable and respectful. And all our fish have been healthy! We also purchased a hamster here that is doing great. We will be back many more times. read more

If I could give this place a zero I would! Don't take your dogs here to be groomed...my Goldendoodle was almost shaved completely and the cut was so choppy and just terrible! Worst cut ever! He's also 13 years old and has joint issues and I explained to the groomer beforehand that he wouldn't be able to stand the entire time only to later find out that it is their policy that the dogs stand up the entire time. Just witnessed a female groomer being very mean to a small black long haired dog. She was pulling its hair underneath the chin, yanking the hair hard enough to yank the entire dog to move. When we asked her to not be so mean to the dog, she just ignored the request and looked away. She seemed to be taking her frustration out on he poor little dog. read more

We've been moderately happy with this location and vet services. However - when arriving before the store opens you can see how the employee park up front - taking up the spots that should be left for customers. When I worked in retail we were always told to park in the rear or back of the parking lot so that the customers had access to the spots nearest the store. I know its also happening at the stores to the south and north - so kHz not just this specific location. So this makes it even more difficult. read more

I have an 11 month old Westie who's been groomed twice before I took her to this location. We just moved to Carmel, and I decided to take her to the Carmel PetSmart salon because that's where we'd take her before we moved. She always did very well and behaved perfectly for the groomers. I took her in for an appointment and explained how I wanted her cut. The manager told me that since my dog is so matted they'd have to shave her down so that her skin would be showing! Excuse me? I brush my dog twice a day, and there is no matting on her! Offensive and rude! One of the employees felt around my dogs fur and said she didn't feel any matting and said she could cut her hair the way I requested. Ok, good. I left, and when I came back to pick up my girl, she couldn't wait to get out of there. I'll never know what they did to my baby, but she hated them! The manager was loud and shouted at me saying "she HATES being groomed, by the way. She bit me and wouldn't let me touch her." I told her my dog never bites anyone and has always loved being groomed. Then her story changed. "Well, she didn't bite me, but she nipped at the equipment. We couldn't give her a haircut. We bathed her and trimmed around her eyes." Let me save you the heartache and wasted money. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOGS HERE!!!!! I don't know what they did to my dog, but she was beyond frightened when I went to pick her up. She hated them. I'm NEVER taking her there again. This lady didn't know a thing about my breed of dog. She honestly had no clue what she was talking about. Red flags everywhere! I should've left and gone elsewhere. When the vet provided a prescription for a special diet food, I went in search of what he prescribed. Of course buying the right type of food can be a challenge when the prescription dues not match the plethora of choices in a pet store. Immediately feeling overwhelmed I went in search of the employee that greeted me when I walked into the store. One thing I gauge good customer service by is an employee taking the time to greet me when they see me. I know sometimes an employee of a business may not see me so I do not base my rating in that case. Finding the employee that greeted me was easy as she was up front working on something. Even though she was busy, she gladly took the time to not only try to assist me with the possible option of what the vet was prescribing but also nicely explained to me about the necessity of having the prescription on hand with me (I took a photo of what the vet wrote) and explained if I found out that the possible brand/selection was incorrect, she would gladly make an exchange. When I called the vet, he confirmed that the store employees best guess was indeed correct. I appreciate great customer service when it is given! read more

A recent trip to PetSmart grooming in Carmel Indiana left me quite disgusted. We dropped our little dog off at 3pm, called to check on him and was told come at 7pm... Something odd about that. I got there and they were in the back trying to finish him off. They didn't do the work I paid for and more importantly gouged our little dog in several places with the shears. We always have tipped $20 dollars in addition to the $70 it costs to bathe and trim him etc. How much money does it take before you take care of him properly. If they didn't have time they should have just told us to come and get him. I would have preferred that to the injuries. read more

We signed up for puppy training and as far as the trainer she is great with the six dogs and owners. Problem is trainer is not reliable. It's a 6 wk class but two weeks were canceled (extended to another week) because trainer couldn't be there. The final straw was the last week trainer asked if everyone was fine to come on a Friday instead of Wednesday. Everyone changes their schedule for that. We arrive on Friday and we are told the trainer is running about 20 minutes late. ????? We finally left because we had arrangements to be somewhere at 7:30. Even though we thought the training was helpful it was a huge disappointment that PetSmart couldn't have a more reliable training program for the paying customers. read more

My nervous dog has had her nails trimmed there multiple times and has done well when they have had one person pat on the head while the other one takes care of the house. Took her in today specifically asking for that and they did not do it. Called me back to the salon as they refused to cut her nails as she was turnong to them with no distraction. we usually come here for our dogs grooming but after our last visit, we won't be returning. we have a poodle whose hair grows quite fast and we typically do get her hair cut every 3-4 months but we were a little late this time. we go for our appointment, and the receptionist immediately scolds my mother for the length of our dogs hair and also lectures her on the mattes behind her ears. (which we understood) the receptionist said next time, she would turn our dog away and call the vet to take her instead. completely rude and proceeded to tell my mom the extra charges in hopes we would just take our dog back and say never mind. 3.5 hours later, our dog is totally unrecognizable and she has nicks on her ears from how close they shaved her and they barely clipped her four front nails. our dog was playing with our other dog today and they cut her back nail at an angle and her nail split in half to the point of excessive bleeding and pain. i believe i scheduled our appointment with Allie M. but i don't recommend ever coming here. salon staff is super unfriendly and will only accept dogs with easy hair to cut. read more
