Waited 30 mins to get helped with fish no one came over. Very rude! There were workers just standing around.

I brought my small chihuahua for a haircut today and didn't realize they cut him until I got home. When I went to pick him up a different groomer brought him to me and charged my card. She didn't mention the cut. She didn't tell me how the grooming went. Just took my money and that was it. I know accidents happen, but it would have been nice to be informed of the situation by the girl who groomed him. Especially since the cut is not small and runs the risk of getting infected. I've taken him to another Petsmart location for a grooming and his groomer brought him out and let me know how it went. Today I didn't get any of that. It just doesn't sit well with me that she didn't come and talk to me. Transparency and some actual customer service would have been nice. Avoid this place at all costs. read more

I was visiting my boyfriend for the weekend and decided I was going to get my dogs an appointment to be groomed at the Chester VA location. Was very excited about it because I love a fresh groomed dog and PetSmart always does a good job. Well I arrived and had a picture and before the groomer Abby assessed my dog she didn't look at the picture and said if we can get the clippers through. So I do have schnauzers and they tend to get matted and as I said before I have been working with PetSmart for a long time. When they get matted we normally go low and that is it. She did a poor and lazy assessment and stated they both had to be sent out to a Vet to be groomed. Mind you when I walked in I overheard her complain to a coworker no one wanted to work today and they had call outs. She wasn't in the best mood when I walked in, like she knew she was going to refuse my dogs. So I then made an appointment with my home store for an appointment, Abby noted in the system that they were so matted they couldn't be groomed which was a lie !!!! The Hampton VA store took both dogs in groomed then with no problems. I have several coworkers with pets in the Chester area and I did let them know not to go there! These are supposed to be professional groomers and lacked the knowledge and professionalism to handle the customer properly. Anyone who will listen I I'll strongly suggest they don't go there. This store JUST opened recently. We were very happy to see that we were getting one closer to us. It's a small store. It's an organized store! The employees are very nice, and they asked questions about my dog. Giving him lots of attention! (His old he was, what his name is, what breed he is, and if he wanted some treats.) I love the vast variety of dog toys! So many cute squeaky toys of different shapes and sizes. The only downside was this place doesn't have a vet clinic like many of the other PetSmart stores do. We use Banfield and we were hoping this store that is now closer to us would have one. It's okay. : ) (We will still shop here for our fish needs and stuff our dog needs.) read more

Please do not take your dog to this salon. I took my baby here, who gets regularly groomed since it was a small puppy, because the salon we usually go to was closed for repairs. The first issue was that I explained to the girl that I wanted a teddy bear cut, but they left it with almost no hair--the shortest there is. This upset me not only because it wasn't what I asked for, but because I spend so much time taking care of its hair to avoid having to cut it so short. They called me and said my dog wasn't cooperating, that its behavior wasn't great, and that it didn't want to get wet (it loves getting into the pool, so that's strange). When I went to get my dog, it seemed relieved and stressed at the same time, scared of everything and anything, and any loud noise (doesn't want to be touched). My dog is beyond stressed and traumatized. All the effort it took to get it comfortable with being groomed was wasted. I don't know what they did to it! read more

Terrible customer service. They take walk ins before appointments without apologizing for making your pet wait. They also make your pet wait 6 or more hours for grooming, sometimes an hour past close and then when you get there to get your animal they aren't fully groomed but because they have been closed for an hour there is nothing you can do about it. I will never be going back there. read more

I booked a grooming appointment at this location due to the Carmia Way store was booked which I frequently book through. I arrived and had to wait for someone to acknowledge me then I had to wait for them to finally come to the front counter. I was told by the young lady Shelby that it was put in the notes that Prince has trouble grooming by the Carmia Way location. This was NEVER mentioned to me in his report and they've always groomed him. Shelby calls me and says that she couldn't groom him fully because he doesn't like the clippers and she was only able to bath him and clean up his face. $45 for a half done job. I've never had any location tell me that they couldn't groom him. This is completely unacceptable! This is my last visit to Pet Smart and I will also be leaving a 1 star review with the Carmia Way location. read more

This Pet Smart is probably the worst Pet Smart I have ever been too. I have two Yorkie puppies that were scheduled to be groomed; however, there were a lot of accidents and traffic back up. I called to confirm they could still fit me in before I left my house since I was running late, and they could. I get there and the groomer was EXTREMELY rude, almost as if she was happy to tell us she can't do a full grooming session because of the time. She made me feel unbelievably uncomfortable for something we could not control. This was supposed to be their first ever grooming session. I have never had someone treat them or I like that before, and this Pet Smart should probably train their employees on customer service. Worst experience. Absolutely loved this experience! Store has only been open a week or 2. Store is very clean, well organized and stocked. First thing I noticed was how we were greeted the moment we walked in the door. My puppy was offered a treat and we were asked if we need assistance looking for anything in particular. We were browsing and looking into training classes. As we were browsing another store associate greeted us and offered us a sample pack of blue buffalo training treats. We finally made our way to the back where the grooming and training area is and was greeted by a very nice lady in the grooming section and by Christine in the training area. We asked her some questions and got my puppy all signed up. After filling the cart up with treats toys and other things we made our way to checkout. The cashier was just as polite, friendly and nice as everyone else I met throughout the store. As we were leaving my puppy peed right by the door, I was getting ready to clean up the little mess when the cashier said don't worry about it, I'll take care of it. Great customer service at this location! This will be my go to pet store from now on. Thanks to all the ladies that offered advice, assisted us or just simply greeted us as we walked around the store! read more

Terrible customer service skills!!!! Awful! Unprofessional! Rude. Groomer knew I was upset when they refused to cut my puppy with 1 small tangled area even when i offered to take him to my car and cut it off myself. Groomer with reddish blonde hair repeatedly smiled and sarcastically told me "Have a nice day ma'am!" Even after I said "please don't say that to me as you can see I'm upset"..SHE SAID IT AGAIN! This groomer raised her voice over talking me when I was explaining how rude she was. NEVER go here. Can't see into the grooming area like you can at Petco. Petco is grooming my puppy tomorrow. Never returning to Chester Petsmart again. I have reported her to corporate. read more

We have a Aussie doodle and our appointment was at 3pm... everything was fine until 45 minutes later we get a call saying they were unable to groom our dog . Due to him being " skittish " and doing " cartwheels ." The only service done was a wash ... which is something we can do ourselves. The one thing he needed the most was trimming of his nails and we had to do it ourself which was a much better outcome and his behavior was normal . I just feel like these people are not professionals and don't know how to handle dogs properly. I will not be going back . read more

This Petsmart is very nice, it's a bit smaller and more compact then the one in Colonial Heights, but staff is much nicer and way more helpful. I actually brought my poodles to b e groomed and bathed here, and was very surprised by the quality. Emily bathed my girls both times and she did amazing. Jessica groomed my girl and placed her in a German Cut to my liking, it wasn't the best, after speaking with another groomer, but I still did like it a lot and it wasn't necessarily her fault because I was the one that told her the details and apparently I gave her the wrong information. She also groomed my girls back when she used to work at another grooming salon, and did really well then as well. My girls really like her. read more

Absolutely love this location! When I first got my Siberian Husky at 8 weeks old (and prior to his arrival) I would go into the store at least 2-3 times a week and I was always greeted with a smile! I would not recommend this Petsmart for grooming with Shelby. I took my pup today that is a Shorkie mix that weighs maybe 25 pounds for his first appointment. She seems to take along time to take him in the back stating "I want to make sure he doesn't bite". I told her if he does bite you would be the first. She called a hour later stating that she couldn't complate the grooming appointment because he "tried" to bite her. Talk about self fulfilling prosphesy. I asked to speak to the grooming manager because I didn't want my pup noted as a biter just in case I needed to try another groomer. He had the same bad attitude as her. She even lied and said that he tried to bite her at the initial appointment.I asked if he tried to bite you why would you accept him for grooming? No answer. The only reason I went there is because my pup went through the beginners puppy training and the vet clinic that he use to go to has lost 2 groomers in the last 6 months. Neither have reported that he has ever tried to bite them. He has had a total of 4 groomers in the 17 months and no one has had a problem with completing a grooming appointment or stated he has bitten at them. I would recommend the Petsmart grooming department find staff that is interested in grooming animals. read more

And the reason I say that is because while I was in line outside waiting for my dog to be vaccinated, my dog got off the leash and a nice young lady who worked there help me secure my dog properly. Thats why I gave it 1 star. She gets 5 stars! But that sorry mobile ShotVet that they use to give your dog their shots is horrible and the Dr is unskilled no more than 23 years old and unprofessional. Don't waste your time go to petsmart where they give shots inside a store and give you a muzzle to put on your dog so they feel more secure and not just say I can't assist you today because your dog is showing aggressive signs because your assistant just put her hands all in my dogs face provoking her! If she was a real dog dr She should have known you don't do that with certain breeds. I said ok after waiting 45 mins in line,I'll take her across the street to pet co like I i usually do and never had a problem . So I did and I was in and out in 15 mins! Never again will I come here!! They lucky I didn't call corporate. Just beware. read more
