I utilized curbside pick up today - the woman who brought my items out to me was super friendly! Unlike many locations, this location does not have the numbered spaces for curbside, you have to pull up to the curb and they bring it out to you. The only employee working the checkout lane at PetSmart today was extremely rude and condescending to my mother for NO reason. She nicely asked if they could scan the 40 lb bag of litter from the cart, and they responded "That's what the scanner's for." in an aggressive tone. When my mom said she asked because sometimes the scanner is short and doesn't reach (which I'm sure everyone has experienced), the employee responded "I have never seen a short scanner." Like why was any of this attitude necessary? My mom is a sweet and respectful woman, and did not deserve to be condescended and talked to like she is an idiot. Also, when my mom asked if the employee could flip the bag over to scan, they TOLD her to do it because they have a shoulder injury. I can understand that if that's true obviously, but how do you know my mom is capable of moving the bag herself? Aren't employees supposed to help the customers? And TELLING her to do it herself instead of asking another employee for help?? Just so rude!! read more

Have been taking my dog for grooming here for the past 1 1/2 yrs. I buy the PetSmart shampoo and bring it in because my dog has allergies. If I forget to bring in my shampoo, they charge me $10. Every month same thing. Today they tried to force me to pay them $10 for " premium shampoo " even though they used my shampoo and I bought it off their shelf. The store mgr took off the charge today, but told me I would pay that fee every time from now on. I have spent a minimum of $200 each month for the past 20 yrs in PetSmart ( not including toys, collars, leashes and harnesses). NOT anymore! Taking all my business elsewhere. They advertise a $55 grooming, if you go here expect for your dog to be there for 4 hours and pay hidden fees. read more

I usually have never had issues with this store. However, today was different! I went to return an outfit that my dog couldn't wear because it was the wrong size. The young cashier took my item with receipt and placed it aside. When I came back with a different item in a larger size for my dog, she rang the item up at full price. I honestly felt like she was trying to rip me off as I didn't take that long to go get another item and I did not get anything else. The store was also not very busy. This is on a weekday afternoon. I am way overdue for writing this review. I am writing it for the training service my daughters dog received or did not receive. (We paid around $130 for training classes) My daughter adopted a dog from a shelter. We do not know if he was around other dogs or children. And unfortunately we know he has a few issues from his first owner. He is part golden retriever and lab. He does not like people on bikes, motorcycles, strollers pretty much anything with wheels. He starts barking, jumping and running back and forth if possible. He does the same with some people and small dogs. My daughter signed up for 4 week training classes so he could be around other dogs and other people. She talked to someone before paying to make sure that's what they were planning on doing with him. The first day of class the lady instructor told my daughter (after only 5 minutes) that he would have to have private lessons for an additional charge. That he could not attend the class today. She did not try to do anything with him. The lady said she would call my daughter the next day to discuss a plan for her dog. So my daughter left the class. 3 weeks pass and no call. My daughter called a few times but the lady was off or was not able to come to the phone. Huge run around. Finally the lady calls my daughter and said it would cost more money for private lessons and they could start that Friday. The total now was $219 for a four week course. We were fine with the cost if we see results. Well, we saw NO RESULTS. Why you ask. Well my daughters dog was NEVER around other dogs, the instructor did nothing with the dog except have my daughter walk him around Petsmart and feed him treats. We could have saved $219 and walked him there for FREE!! He did not learn anything. All he did was eat 25-50 treats per session and come home. I would not recommend this training to anyone. Save your time & money. I would give ZERO stars or negative stars if it was possible. read more

One cashier for 20 people ahead of me and 30 behind. That is just ridiculous. Now I have a Siamese and she have "issues". Not knocking her because I too, have "issues". She is on multiple Compound Medications that can only in another state and one on the Pharmacy website. What came I for was the Alligator Food she needs too eat due to allergies. It with nearly $3.50 a can and she would me to open a fresh can daily. I also needed the dry food they carry, as well. My complaint is dogs have a side and cats have a side, but I couldn't find her food and stood at Banfield Counter for 15 minutes until somebody came out. I had to ask where it was. All prescription diets are for cats or dogs are located in the dog section..Didn't make sense to me...I have i needed and stood in that dang line for 30 minutes. Anything for my baby girl. I have gone to the Cypress Petsmart for grooming for years. I have a Havanese and we've always kept her hair short. The last two times I've been charged an additional $20 fee for matting, but my dog always leaves Petsmart shaved with very little hair. The receipt says the fee is for an additional 30 minutes of work. She was there 5 hours, but I'm not sure why, since her hair was shaved & is now about the length of a haired Guinea pig, with the exception of her ears. I did contact Petsmart & the manager reported she had to be shaved before & after her bath. This is odd, since she's an indoor dog and the most matting she had was on her tail fur. The rest of her body had at most 2" of hair. So there was not much to brush. That was my last trip to Petsmart grooming. They charged $70+ for a bath & "shave," $10-15 for nail grinding, and $20 for "dematting." When I got home, my family asked what the heck happened to her. read more

About 2 years ago, they accidentally cut off my dog's dew claw. The vet next door took care of her. We figured it was an accident so we continued to take our dog there. We made sure to always include what happened in the grooming notes, as well as mention it whenever we drop her off. Flash forward to today. My husband mentions it when he dropped her off, and the groomer even says, oh yeah, it's here in her notes. Guess what? They did it again! When the girl from the groomer called to tell me, she was surprised when I said,"Again?!" I told her it had happened there before. What the heck? Of course, you can't reach a manager or anyone on the phone when you call, other than the grooming department. For all the local vets who weren't even slightly interested in being nice much less helpful--the folks here showed they are not only running a business hut do care about animals. I've always brought my dog here. He is a puppy and gets very excited when he sees someone new. I know that and I am willing to pay more for someone to take their time. This time unfortunately I got Rachel English as the groomer. Since she met the puppy she seemed annoyed that he was jumping on her. She took him and out him in the kennel, and called me an hour later to say she won't cut or bath him because he won't stop barking. Made me waste a day on this, hire people that actually like dogs. Luckily they at least were smart enough to tell me they were too incompetent only after an hour in traffic and waiting to check in. I had to run to the store in order to get 2 bags of dog food. I made it into the store around 9:45, just 15 minutes before the store closes. The cashiers greeted me and were very friendly. I didn't feel rushed, but I immediately grabbed the things I needed and checked out. I was in a rush because I had other errands to run, but the cashier was having small talk with the person in front of me and took forever. I waited patiently because I knew they were closing soon and couldn't take too long, but she kept talking about her dog and the story kept going on and on. There was only one cashier working at the time and the line was getting longer and longer because everyone was ready to check out. I would've preferred a faster check out. Other than that, this location is decent and has all the things I need in order to keep my pets happy. read more

If I could give a zero I would. The store is great the grooming department needs to be closed down or new staff hired. I took my three dogs and only 1/3 were groomed at all. They told me one was matter, which was not that bad. The others I was told they would not let them do their back legs. I am at the vet with one who is limping. Store manager called trying to place blame on the dogs. These dogs are around young children, who pull their tails and ears and they have not at one time bitten any body. I have been using pet smart since 2009, no issues. Will not use this location again and will suggest the same to all of you. Horrible, unprofessional and straight up liars. For grooming I would highly recommend Mikayla. I have a fluffy dog and sometimes I noticed that other groomers left it really choppy. However, this time my dog was SO NICE, CLEAN, CUT, and the hair cut was EXACTLY how we wanted it!!! She is super sweeet and loves her job. We just moved to Cypress and was looking for a pet groomer. We have been using Petsmart in Louisiana and decided to try out the Petsmart here. I like using Petsmart because of their online booking service and that they keep every service in the dog's profile in their system. They did an ok job for the baths of our dogs. What I did not like about this place is that it stinks and is quite messy and dirty. My dog's rabies vac had expired and I brought in the latest rabies cert but they did not even ask for it. Makes me wonder if they check the vac records of all the dogs. Our dogs did not smell nice after their baths. read more

I Took my sweet Morkie in last week to the Petsmart Cypress location. I had a feeling when I made the appointment that something was off. The person making the appointment was new and had a very difficult time scheduling my appointment over the phone. I was very specific about what I did and did not want. When I took her in I reminded them of what I expected for my pets cut. Let's just say when I picked her up, she looked like she had been mowed over with a mower that had dull blades. I want to first start off by saying that this review is solely for Grooming at PetSmart on NW Freeway in Cypress and no other services. I honestly think that the cashiers and other workers here are very helpful and nice; however, after today's experience I will no longer ever support PetSmart unless they find a way to change their system and require their Grooming staff at this location go through training once more. To begin, I want to say I have taken my dog to this Grooming location before and choose Alton (Grooming Manager) and had wonderful service. My dog was in and out within 3 hours as promised and his haircut was beautiful. Today, however, we made an appointment a week in advance, however Alton/Zach was not available so we choose J'anna T as his groomer. When we first walked into the Grooming station, there were already two others in line ahead of us and we stood by waiting patiently and even tried to get our dog to make friends with the other dog waiting. While standing in line, we overheard that the lady in front of us did not have an appointment, but J'anna (OUR GROOMER) said she would gladly be able to fit her dog in. She began to pet the dog and was "ohh ahh" of the dog. When my turn came to check my dog in (on time), I noticed that J'anna was a lot more distant to my dog and continuously to pronounce his name incorrectly despite me telling her my dog's name over and over. To me, that was just disrespectful and rubbed me the wrong way. So when we checked him in, she told us she was a little booked and that it might take 4 hours instead of the 3 hours our appointment online said. I was okay with that and was willing to wait the extra hour. So I proceeded to spend the next 4 hour at home (ON A SATURDAY) to stay in the area, just in case she finished earlier than expected, waiting for the PetSmart call. ALMOST 5 HOURS LATER I STILL DID NOT GET A CALL. So I got worried and called in to check and see what was taking so long. When I did get on the phone with someone, I asked about my dog and she simply responded that they were behind and "it should not be much longer" and I asked her if she could give me a time frame since it was almost 5:00pm and I had dinner plans. The lady just told me that she did not know. This seemed a little off to me because as a professional groomer, I would expected them to know how long it took to cut hair. She proceeded to tell me she had no idea after five hours, so I asked to speak to her manager and she said he was busy but she could have him call me back. She ended the call with a "You're Welcome". I did not receive any information from them, why should I be welcome? At this point, I was scared for my dog's well-being so I drove right over there and demanded to have my dog back. When I got my dog, THEY DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO HIM FOR FIVE HOURS, yet I see my Groomer, J'anna T cutting the lady who did not have an appointment's dog. I was so confused how the lady on the phone could even tell me that it wouldn't be much longer when I got my dog back absolutely nothing had been done. Zach/Alton H, the Salon Manager, was standing right there next to the cash register talking to the lady who answered the phone. I did not receive an apology for waiting FIVE HOURS for my dog to sit in a kennel and for me to sit at home worrying about him, and if I did not call in when I did, I'm sure they would have kept me waiting past 5:00pm. I really wish that I did have a better experience here since this PetSmart is right down the road and Zach/Alton did a wonderful job the first time, but it sure seems like nobody there cared about my dog or me so I won't be returning here again. I will be proceeding to contact management about the fact that a dog without an appointment was put before my dog who had an appointment AND the fact that there were two other Groomers available (Zach/Alton and the lady who answered the phone) yet my dog just sat in a kennel waiting all day for J'anna T who apparently rather Groom dogs that don't have an appointment. read more

We had a great experience at this location today. We had questions about the pros/cons of different kinds of harnesses and the manager was a great help to us and very patient with all our questions. She later helped us with picking out a bed and it was the same type experience. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and patient and my wife and I will be visiting this location again. read more

Zach in grooming is the best! I've gone to other groomers but was never happy with the results!

I have two mini schnauzers and finding someone to give them a good proper cut is hard to do. Considering my first two go-to's were booked for some days I chose to pick this location. I made my appointment for the two dogs on Sunday for Tuesday at 730am. Got a call Monday asking to bring the dogs in at 7am because the groomer had to leave early. He also mentioned that he didn't know why they booked me at 730am when it should have been 7am; scheduling has nothing to do with me. Things in life happen so I excused this. I drop my dogs off, pick them up 4.5hrs later...probably the worst haircuts my two schnauzers have ever had...in LIFE! They looked strange when I picked them up and once we hit the sunlight, talk about everything uneven. I asked my wife if I should go back in to get it fixed and she prompted not to. The worst areas of their cuts is their beards which I specifically asked for them to be careful with...this did not happen. Eyebrows taken back too far which I was specific about and uneven cuts on top of their heads. The gentleman that did their hair is NOT a Master groomer and should not cut schnauzers as it is a specific cut. read more

I've used the grooming salon at this Petsmart for several years and have been pleased. However, this morning when I dropped my dogs off, the groomer who checked them in started telling me how matted one of my dogs ears were. They were not that bad. They could have been much worse. I explained to him that my dogs were 14 and 17 years old and to please explain to Morgan, who was to be their groomer that they were old and had trouble seeing and hearing. When I picked them up Morgan was gone for the day. The report said that the 17 year old had been terribly stressed and that the 14 year old had bitten when being brushed. They have never had bad reports before so I'm concerned that the groomer may not have treated them as gently as she should have considering their ages. Then they charged me extra for ten matts. I have been getting my dogs groomed their whole lives and I will admit when they are matted. The Schnoodle was not. I'm also very upset set that they were nit treated gingerly. I guess I'm looking for another groomer. read more

Wish I could give stars for grooming and actual store separate.. the store in general is great. The people relatively pleasant and helpful and rarely if ever have any issues finding what I need. Now the grooming--- I have a miniature schnauzer and do understand that there cuts are generally more difficult then most. However after 3 cuts I'm still not convinced they're worth the money. Uneven. Nails barely clipped. Ears weren't cleaned. The last time I took her the skirt didn't even look like it had been touched and within a couple days I noticed it was matted up. I usually would book the appts online which is convenient and I'm able to select a specific groomer but when I drop her off someone else checks her in and then the little flier at the end says a different name and then someone else brings her out so I have no idea who is who. I tried to walk in to get her nails trimmed since they don't do appts for just that and they said it would be 2 hours if I could come back then... kind of defeats the purpose of a walk in 10 minute service. Maybe other locations are different but I will definitely not be going back to this one for grooming. read more

I had the worst experience with Petsmart, today. I have been going the Cypress location for about three years now! Zack was my normal groomer however, he was booked and he recommended another groomer for me to use, Chrystal, upon arrival to pick up my dog at the grooming salon, I looked at her ears and notice they were still dirty! They spent 15 minutes paging Chrystal she never showed, Zack asked one the groomer that been standing around the entire time doing nothing to take care of her ears! One the lady grab my dog very harsh, man handle my pet, my pet was screaming, after wittiness the harsh abuse while she attempt to clean her ears. I told them give me my dog back now!! Zack was there saw and hear the entire thing which was very disappointing to me he is the grooming manager to have allowed this very unacceptable! So I asked for a store manager they call The manager on duty Joanna I explained to her what happen, her attitude was rude and abruptly! In fact she told me not all the packages include ear cleaning. I replied and said trust me for 65.00 it damm sure include that service, she never once apologizes and offer to find someone else to clean my pet ears!! went to the store to buy a small grooming shaver/clipper to get the mattes off of my cat because they can make the cat uncomfortable and unhealthy. we did lots of research and decided it would be better for my cat to do it at home instead of through a service as she is old and probably can't take it. when checking out I asked the employee at the register if the clipper i was getting was suitable for cats, she then proceeded to give us the most judgmental look and said "you shouldn't have to shave your cat." my cat is elderly, she cannot groom herself properly, so her saying "are you sure that's safe?" with another nasty look was so rude. we are not idiots we should not be treated as idiots. we know what we were doing. bad customer service there. 1/8/19 4:18pm read more
