Avoid PetSmart at all costs. They are way overpriced, their vet service sucks and charges 3x what local veterinarians charge. We bought a pet crate that they sold on clearance for $69 and first night puppy found the loose threads and chewed his way out. Called to return and told it was our fault. We will be buy all pet supplies from now on from Chewys.

The pros of this PetSmart are that it is well stocked. Aisles are wide and free of clutter. There is a wide selection of pet food and crates. If you are looking for Kong brand toys, a plethora of them are available at this location. I agree with everybody else on the poor customer service. When I visited there was only one lane open. No cashier was at the lit up register. I was just about to put the items back, and leave when the cashier came. When she finally did come I did not receive any form of acknowledgement for waiting, or any form of greeting. All she did was say "phone number." then in the middle of the transaction she started talking to the person behind me in line. Another employee also came up and started talking to the person behind me. It made it seem as if my transaction was inconveniencing them. While I was looking, there were a number of dogs being checked in. Not sure what for, but they were all freaking out. The PetSmart employee said to the people waiting "all dogs are nervous to come here." My puppy has been to the vet twice, (elsewhere,) and has no qualms about prancing in. I know some animals are afraid of the vet, or being boarded, but to say "all" seems like a red flag.

I'll admit it I'm a snob when it comes to big box chain stores. I hate going to them and I typically feel they are for drone suburbanites. Pet Smart Florence was very helpful. I first went there when I was looking to adopt a dog. After spending two hours playing with puppies and older dogs it was time to pick up the dog owning basics.. ie: food, toys, collar, leash I found the staff at Pet Smart to be very helpful in finding everything I needed. They saved me a lot of time. I was able to ask different employees about collars, leashes and dog food. One staff member even taught me how to put the walking collar on. I will admit that I was wrong and shouldn't have prejudged Pet Smart. The staff really enjoyed their jobs and helping the animals. Best Part of Pet Smart Florence: YOU CAN BRING YOUR PET! who doesn't love shopping with their pet? PS: Always look for coupons before going!

We stopped here to buy some fish for our tank and found ourselves very impressed with this store. The store was very clean, the shelves were all stocked, and most importantly the animals they had were well cared for. After some of the other pet stores experiences we've had this was a refreshing change.

I just moved to Florence last year from Charleston so maybe I need to lower my expectations…read more I've tried 3 grooming salons since I moved here and so far they are all sub-par in my opinion. I thought Bark Avenue was going to be different, because the first groom we had was wonderful, but so far they are inconsistent. The times I get a full groom done on my labradoodles they're usually done very well. Then I get a maintenance groom and it's like they get a bath but no more; even though I specifically ask for feet, face, ears and hygiene areas done. Today I returned from picking them up and my one dog's ears are full of mats. She has long hair on her ears, and the mats are very visible on the ends. I called and the groomer said she "didn't see any mats..." Well, she's very young and I'm pretty old, and not wearing my glasses and I can see them. The attitude of the younger lady there seems to be indifference . She never smiles, or greets the dogs. She just seems like she hates working there tbh. I'm sure that is not what the owner of Bark Avenue wants in an employee. I hate leaving bad reviews but I guess I'm still on the search for a decent groomer in Florence.

I understand that being around other dogs will leave a smell, but my dog reeked of negligent housing cleanliness. Everyone in town told me not to go to Barker's but I decided to give them a chance and certainly I will never go back again.

She's extremely playful and loves to be outside smelling everything. When I came to pick her up she was in a day care room but all the staff was up front no one was with her, and no dogs with her. I asked if they had a lot of dogs today and they said in large day care. So now my first thought is she was by her self all day. Had that been the case I would of kept her home. When I got there she held on to me for dear life shaking and trembling. So was my dog alone for 8 hours, shaking for 8 hours? Not only that after I picked her up I had thought about when I dropped her off, I handed the lady her shot record and she didn't even read it. What if her shots were expired? So are they making sure dogs have their shots? When I got her home she ran around for hours. A dog after "day care" should be tired. I am extremely frustrated, will not be taking my dog back, telling everyone I know about my experience, and posting a review everywhere I can. Your staff was nice but clearly did not care for my dog.
