Our first experience buying an aquarium and fish for the 3 grandkids. We went to this PetSmart and were greeted by Steve who walked us through the whole process and was very informative on how to care for the fish, what was needed, etc. the boys are so happy with their fish! Thank you Steve!!

You're kidding right? The satisfaction guarantee but, I am supposed to drive the hour back to this location in order to be refunded a grooming service? Regardless if I was okay with the style the dogs hair in, it should at least be even. I don't know if this was the groomers first day with some clippers or what. I would advise management to re evaluate who they have grooming dogs. Every part of my experience trying to remedy the situation was unpleasant on top of being upset at the poor work done on my dog. I was loyal to petco grooming and came here out of desperation and I will never make that mistake again. The skokie petco has groomers who are skilled. Next time I will wait for them to have availability instead of making the mistake of coming here again.

Management hid this on Google. TL;DR don't care about fish, sell as many as you can for as much $$$ as you can. I had purchased four bettas from this location today in an effort to rescue them and returned one item from a purchase a week earlier (images taken minutes after arriving home). When I was browsing through the fish section, I informed a kind bearded employee that the bettas seemed neglected he was immediately sympathetic and said he would note it in their system. After leaving the store, I noticed I left the "return receipt." When I returned I was greeted by a different man I believe named "Steve," which after some back and forth helped retrieved the receipt for me because I had purchased a sick betta and explained why wanted to retain the receipt. At that point I mentioned that all the bettas I have purchased from this location have been sick in some capacity. He proudly rebutted that he has the "lowest betta lost" in the company as we walked over to take a look at the bettas. He began to explain the blue water wasn't harmful... to which I stopped him and explained I wasn't speaking of the newly imported fish, but of the fish showing illness due to neglect (unclean conditions, fin rotting, blindness, tumor-like growths, swim bladder, etc.) to which he responded, "How can you tell?! Also these are mass bred. You expect defects. But we do twice a week cleanings..." As I did not have the patience to deal with his immaturity, I simply left the situation as is and said I just wanted to help. He finished the conversation by stating that he "gets so many of these [bettas] in that [his] goal was to sell as many for as much money as possible." As you can see from the images, I was not trying to exaggerate my concern. I truly hope my five rescues survive (I have multiple tanks at home and emergency quarantine tanks/medications/test strips/supplies/etc. for their proper care) hoping I can put this all behind me, but if worst comes for these little fishies... I look forward to encountering "Steve," again.

I've been bringing my Pug and Great Pyrenees here for years to see Shayna. My babies LOVE her! She is the best groomer we've had the pleasure of working with. She is a wonderful person with a heart of gold. She always goes above and beyond. She listens to my concerns and gives the best advice and suggestions. If you want an amazing groomer who truly cares for you and your fur babies, come here and ask for Shayna!

    Thanks Shayna! Love Rosie

I rarely leave negative reviews for any business (small or large) because I understand how hard it…read moreis to keep one running in this economy. HOWEVER, this is something I cannot just drop without giving my personal experience. I've been going here since around 2021 or 2022 because our dogs' old groomer moved away right after the pandemic and so, I found this place through googling around. At first, it was okay: they are very fast on grooming our dogs (which I now consider as red flag because our old one takes more than 90 minutes per dog), but it's cash or check only (another red flag). However, two days ago, Jelly went in for a supposedly routine grooming session as we've always done every six months because we just prefer to keep the usual trimming and brushing at home just to be cost effective. Last time that we went was in late December 2025 but it was with a different groomer. That one went pretty smoothly and very fast (under an hour). Cheri, the groomer this time, briefly explained to me that Jelly was anxious and was "jumping around" when she got knicked around her left leg near the armpit area and I will have to bring her to the vet to get "one or two stitches, but she'll be fine" Just to paraphrase what she told me and at first, I took her word for it because well, of course, she's a "PROFESSIONAL" groomer. Well, I took her to one of the nearest animal hospitals around Morton Grove, and the vet told me that the cut was a bit deeper because she could see the under her skin (basically down to her bone) and she had three stitches. I mean, I already had the most stressful morning hauling two dogs back and forth to this place from my house in Skokie, but this is just cherry on top! Look, I'm going to suppress my emotions here as much as I could and get down to the facts. This incident happened in YOUR place of business under YOUR care. When we leave our dogs in your hands, we kinda expect them to be in a safe environment and for the amount of money and trust that we have put into this place, we were hoping that we get reciprocated the same experience (safety and trust). That was not the case at all and I should have taken all the little red flags that I've noticed throughout the years. I understand that sometimes Jelly gets anxious and nervous around places and people. Well, of course they will be stressed when a human right in front of them is holding a blade (and a sharp one!). And of course out of instinct, they will move! It's just how it is, and I understand. However, I left that place feeling like it was my fault for letting this happen and Cheri was just nonchalant about it. She was actually more concerned on making sure the payment went through from Zelle than the condition of my dog when we left. I still don't know what exactly happened because I wasn't there, but it left me with some doubts on what she was telling me or maybe there's more to it that they're not telling. Jelly has been to various groomers for almost 9 years now ever since we got her in 2017. Every time we pick her up from the groomer, we always ask them how our dogs were, how was their behavior, is there anything we need to keep in mind as dog owners before we return. And 99.999999% of the time, the groomers would say that everything went well and Jelly was very well-behaved and pretty good at staying still....This is the very first time I have heard from a groomer that she was "jumping around". I don't know, maybe be that day was just not a good day for Jelly to go to the groomer? We may never know. Looking at other negative reviews here, I have made peace with the fact that this place will never cover the vet bills (It was about $960 for the whole hospital visit PLUS the $150 for grooming my two dogs). But what do I expect from a place that only takes cash or check only?? Sure, Cheri did reach out to me asking for any update and I did respond back but I also asked for the owner's contact information just to let them know and report this incident and go from there. I have not received any response back from her nor the owner yet, and I doubt I will ever get a reply. Look, the reason why we go here is to avoid this exact scenario. I'm going to use an analogy here: It's like when your car breaks down and you bring it to a mechanic...hopefully the one that has the experience AND the expertise in these matters because DIY may not be the best. But the mechanic messed up your car and instead of paying for $500 fix, it's now at least $2000....who wouldn't be pissed off with that? Anyways, I'm posting this NOT for the owner or employees of this place anymore but for other potential customers who are looking for a safe and trustworthy groomer. Because this place is definitely not it. I have posted a picture of Jelly's injury and a screenshot of Cheri's "expertise" that was posted on their website below. You be the judge on whether you still trust this place or not.

It's a wonderful place for dogs! You can see that everyone who works there loves dogs and really cares about them. I have been taking Shyla here for day care for several years, and I board her there when necessary. I wouldn't trust Shyla to anyone else! The place is HUGE and very clean. There are several different areas of play, both inside and outside, and a few different types of sleeping areas for overnight guests. When you board your dog you get a report card, letting you know everything you'd want to know about your dog's stay! Plus they have webcams all over the place, but I don't use them anymore. I will not be going back to Wiggly Tails after a second, and this time horrific, biting incident resulting in severe injuries to my dog, the defenseless, kind and loyal Bailey. I apologize for sharing these horrific pictures, but I do not want any other unsuspecting owners to land themselves in the position that my dog and I are in. The photos are after my dog was cleaned up. It was much worse, looking infected. I'm heartbroken and mentally exhausted. I gave them a second chance the first time and I was assured it wouldn't happen again. The first time, I didn't post anything and I was asked to give them a second chance. I'm not sure why they neglected my dog to allow it to happen. There should have been some supervision to avoid this. The facility refuses to share surveillance tapes of the injuries. I gave them an opportunity for explanation and was told "We can't guarantee this won't happen again". Why not? Is Wiggly Tails staff extensively trained? Is the staff trained to handle emergencies? How do they organize dogs? by size or by play style? Are "dangerous" or aggressive dogs allowed in group play? Do they let the dogs do what they want until a fight breaks out? Is the facility more concerned with revenue than safety? Doggy daycare places will tell you that they watch the dogs and stop inappropriate behavior from happening but in most cases it's either a lie or they don't intervene until it's escalated too far. Wiggly Tails were negligent in their duty of care which led to my dog getting bitten and severely injured. There is no excuse for my poor little dog to suffer like this! My poor family has to deal with the trauma of an injured dog due to an irresponsible daycare business! Irresponsible decisions were made that lead to Bailey's injuries, and I would not want this to happen to any other pet or pet parent. Please, if you are considering a dog care facility, do not take your beloved pup to Wiggly Tails. I wanted to share my story in hopes that others who see this post will share it, and perhaps other pet parents will think twice about using Wiggly Tails.
