So I haven't been to a petsmart in quite awhile. I was in desperate need of dog food for my furry ol man. Their competitors didn't have it so I ventured over to petsmart. So glad I did bc the awesome associate John helped me and explained that the food I wanted is having issues in factory so its not being shipped to any pet store. Of course my luck, BUT they did have an alternate that I use once in awhile in the brand. The other place didnt. So altho I did pay more bc they are more money, it was worth it bc now I have food for my furry ol man. yayy.. So thanks John for preventing me from going crazy looking for it all over the place and explaining the problem. One star off bc alot more money. I'm newer to the area and just got a puppy a few weeks ago. I have had dogs my whole life and have been to my fair share of Petsmarts. I have found that (thus far) this store is great. The associates are always very helpful, friendly, and kind. The store itself is clean and, in my opinion, reasonably priced. I took my puppy to their groomer this past week and he looked great, seemed to have enjoyed it, and staff was very nice. He's scheduled to go to their vet next week as well. So far nothing but good experiences here! read more

I took my 5 year old pup here to get a grooming , I trusted them with my fur not knowing that the groomer was pulling on my dog leg while he was crying for help .. now his legs are very weak he can't even stand on them no more . Then even after that a Spanish lady had the audacity to tell me my dog had to be neutered without even knowing his medical history. read more

Absolutely love this location, always a positive energy in the building. I have been bringing my dogs here for grooming for many years. These wonderful groomers were willing to take on my first dog who was extremely aggressive and a tough cookie and now take care of my two little girls. I am grateful for these wonderful individuals coming in each day risking their health mentally, emotionally, physically to take care of our four legged loved ones. You can see each groomer truly loves what they do and treats each dog like their own. Y'all writing negative stuff on here just sound like a bunch of negligent pet parents who should not be allowed to own dogs and just looking to blame others for your lack of care and get anything for free. Took our dog for grooming and were terribly disappointed. We used Lynn C and will never come back. We were very specific. He has sensitive skin and his ears need to stay dry. When we picked him up she was quick to bring him out and leave. We thought nothing of it. Once we got home we realized how she had cut him and sprayed perfume on his face which of course left him with irritation between his eyes. We contacted Petsmart and I'll say they responded quickly and had a vet attend to my dog and our money returned promptly. Unfortunately now my dog is traumatized and I worry about the next time we need to have him groomed. She never apologized or even had the decency to speak with us. I don't know how she is even working there. She is terrible as a groomer and horrible as a human being. read more

The store was very clean and no bad smell like so often in pet stores. Though the girl I asked to help me, was clearly in the middle of something important, she dropped everything and helped. Both the cashier and the floor manager helped me figure out how to carry a fish tank, and a new small fish on my motorcycle... Thank you for the help. I will be back for more. read more

Went here the other day. I am more of a Petco customer, but wanted to check this store out, since it is closer than Petco. The staff was friendly and very welcoming. The shelves were well stocked and they have a huge variety. The one thing that popped out as soon as I walked in the door, there isn't any tile flooring. So, it has that warehouse/garage type flooring. I sure it may be easy to clean, but it wasn't appealing. Another thing that separates Petsmart from Petco is the treat bar, where you can create your own bag of treats. So, those are my reasons to giving it 4 stars, overall good place to get your pets supplies. read more

We are proud owners of a 13 year old Pomeranian and have been loyal customers to PetSmart - Hamilton for 13 years. A few months ago we brought her in for grooming and was shocked to see her flowing coat was cut/or shaved down to look like a shaved lamb or hairless cat. We recently tried to get another grooming appointment, and was told that they can no longer meet our needs and we are no longer wanted as a customer. So much for customer service. read more

Please do not take your lovable dogs to groom at the Hamilton location! I got to the place 20min earlier since it was my first time, thinking they may need my dog's vaccination info.. however, I was there too early, they wouldn't let me check in..I had to wait out side until 10:00am for the exact appointment time.. But the groomer came to work 25 min late which makes total waiting time to be about an hour.. Never experienced that you have to wait half an hour because the groomer didn't come to work on time. After when the groomer was finished, I went to pick my dog and she looked horrible!! They charged me extra $5 for getting it done on the weekends so the total came up to $76 w tax. The work is worth about$20.. She missed cutting lots of spots ,uneven and didn't even get to finish all.. I could've done better job!!! I can't believe I spent closer to $90 w tips.. wasted my time, money and my heart is broken because my dog looks horrible!! Also whatever the shampoo or perfume they used smells like inside of flea market. It's just disgusting!! Please think twice before you make the appointment!!! read more

a few years + 1 puppy later, and it's time for an updated review of this petsmart. there have been a lot of improvements in customer service and store cleanliness, and compared to many other petsmart locations, this one is the best. living in North Brunswick, there are easily at least 5 petsmart locations in closer proximity to me than this one in Hamilton marketplace. however, this is the location that I frequent for purchases and puppy training classes for my little beast. I've been to the others, and there's no comparison. before bringing home my new pup, I wanted to be prepared so I stopped in to do some shopping. the manager personally helped me chose a good food, treats, toys, etc. the level of customer service was great! he showed me all of the end-caps and areas where items are on sale (a cute leash for $4? a slow feeder bowl for $5? yes, please!), and introduced me to the puppy coupon book- $20 for a ton of savings (easily save $100 or so)... totally worth it! the store has some awesome perks too- various vendors give sample giveaways and/or are on site to answer product-specific questions. there was a "treat tasting" one day when I was in the store.... like a version of a wine-tasting, just for puppies! pup was loving the treats, and we went home with some free sample bags (and bought a few, cuz they were on sale ... and we know I loooove things on sale! training so far has been great- Kim is fantastic, and eager to give advice and answer questions. receiving a phone call reminder from her personally the night before class was a pleasant surprise (and much needed, cuz I had the start time wrong in my head!) going to, for example, the princeton petsmart in nassau park was a major disappointment by comparison- way less friendly/helpful staff, no fun vendors... definitely worth the drive to Hamilton for a better experience. read more

Snippy Customer Service; so far there are two Cashiers I encountered that provide unpleasant service. The Cashier that I interfaced with earlier this evening on line "1", I came across her in the past as well. And each time it appears the young lady resent her employment. This evening, I purchased two cans of dog food and she had the nerve to ask me if I needed a "bag". Ummm do you expect me to place the items in my purse or walk out the door holding two cans of dog food? Just thought her question was silly and warranted a slick "yes" I need a bag, a duh? Okay I didn't say a "duh" but my facial expression said it for me... After she bags my items, she hands over my receipt with a nonchalant gesture and also without uttering a thank you for visiting or just a thank you. And that is not the first I encountered her nasty disposition. If you travel to the Princeton PetSmart or even the PA PetSmart's you will encounter pleasant employees smiling and enjoying their job. However, because I reside within the vicinity, that is the only reason I patronize. PetSmart, adjust your employees attitude a notch before you lose quality business. read more

The place smelled like feces where the adopted cats and dogs are housed. The fish tanks were disgusting. The inside and the outer tanks were dirty. You can see streaks of dirty water dried on the outside of the tanks. The ranks haven't been cleaned for weeks. read more

I can't tell you enough how amazing this Petsmart is. I especially want to give kudos to Lori the cashier who is the most pleasant human being on the planet. She is a joy to be around and I love her so much! She also always remembers to make sure you put in your phone number and is just always so helpful and so refreshing at the register. She is an asset to the company. The Manager, John is so approachable and nice and really takes care of his store. And he cares. And it shows. Everything is always spotless and clean and well stocked. His employees, no matter how late in the day, are always there to help you or ask you if you need help. And they are all so pleasant. I have recommended many family and friends to this particular Petsmart for their dog grooming, their vet services and a well stocked store. This store should be commended on a job well done. It's a pleasure to enter and exit the store as we are always greeted with a smile and a hello, a friendly, "See you soon. Did you find everything you needed?" when checking out. I think they should allow pets in all stores. Some of the owners should be left outside, though. Lot's of items for pets including training and grooming services. Is it fun to go to? Not for me. Just sometimes a necessity. The good thing is that you go there to buy things for pets. No milk, no bread, no beer. Although carrying beer might help make the trip more enjoyable. read more

Some of the cashiers are nice enough, but a few of the women stocking on the sales floor are incredibly rude. Today was the second time one of them practically snapped my head off with her nasty tone and overall miserable demeanor. Inquire about an item and they will act offended as if you're bothering them. This petsmart is AWESOME! From the customer service to the groomers, this place has it all! This store truly is an all in one store for your pet... They've got a veterinarian office in the store (Banfield), groomers, rescue groups, a dog trainer and training area, and everything else you'd find in a petsmart store... This isn't an ordinary store though, it's extraordinary! From waking in the store and being greeted by the cashiers to getting assistance on the floor from a food representative as well as a petsmart associate... To checking out and finding out how much I saved by using my pet perks card... It was wonderful! The associates are educated and informative on all animals and the care they need as well as the products that are in the store. They've even got, "Pet Care Specialists!" Hamilton didn't or doesn't provide grooming services for cats as stated via their website on this date of 10/25/2017 and "walk ins " wasn't a good expirence as the do note that they except walk ins. I was less than greeted politely at reception desk. Shame on them for bad advertising and disrespecting a disabled person. Note The groomer themselves did instruct that another petsmart did groom cats....how ever their point is mute do to advertising grooming for cats there and that's why I was there. GOOD DAY read more

This is the pet store I frequent and I have to say the check out clerks are so very rude. They are slow and rude and have no respect. There are a few clerks that are so helpful, actually two, the are mature adults that always help. The young people that work in the store are just terrible. I go here from time to time. Sometimes I'm able to get what I want, but why no crickets. every other time I come here they are out of Crickets and I need to feed my buddy. Worst experience of my life! I take my dog to the groomers today with my mom. She loves coming to the pet store she is always so excited beyond belief. Every time she goes to the groomers she is very excited and comes out extremely happy and the groomers always say how good she was. Today was the exception apparently! The groomers call us and tell us she is very scared and they are unable to groom her. They also tell us that she has a bloody nose. I pick up a cowering dog totally the opposite of her personality and it was quite some time before she warmed up to her usual self. I don't know what kind of abuse took place today but you can be damned sure I will never be back! read more

We will take our Shih-tzu to get groomed no where else but here as our 8 year old Jethro gets an excellent grooming every two months from Jessica K the best there is. DON'T take your pet there for grooming. They don't know what they are doing. We took our Alaskan Malamute for grooming at Hamilton #1148 for a good number of times. We liked it there because it's convenient, the price is affordable and they did a pretty job. So it's time for grooming again. I scheduled an appointment about a week ago. My husband took him there. The groomer (Morgan) asked my husband was the dog aggressive. He told her when it came to his nails, so DON'T cut his nails. So he came home. We were on the way out. The groomer called saying after she CUT his nails, he got stressed out. She talked to her manager that the service couldn't be continued. And we needed to pick him up. So my husband went there and spoke to the groomer. And asked who cut his nails. She said she did because his nails were long. My husband reminded her that not to do it. She took upon herself and did it anyway. And said they were busy, he could bring the dog back later of the day. First of all, I SCHEDULED the appointment a week ago, it wasn't a walk in. How come they didn't have time for him. Second, why she didn't listen to the owner of the dog? I filed a complaint right after. After a week, still no one calls back for a follow-up or apologize for what happened. If you love your pets, don't take them there. Or don't let Morgan touches your pet. read more

I love the wide variety of food there. My dog has several food sensitivities and Petsmart has the special foods I need always in stock and at reasonable prices. I also like their variety of live small animals and fish. Also, there is a nice variety of toys and leashes. Although I have never used their grooming service, I have heard pretty bad things.. so I would stay away from the grooming area. read more

Horrible service. Took my little shitzu for a nail and paw trim. They want to nickel and dime you. They have a service called Pawpedicure which includes these services with ear cleaning etc etc that the staff apparently is unaware of. When I told them it's on the brochure the one lady grooming another pet left her post to come and see it for herself. You work here you should know the list of services you provide. My poor dog was frightened, not only was the other lady unfriendly but made my 7 month pup uncomfortable. I will not be bringing her back here even though I live down the road. I will gladly take her to the Petsmart in Princeton, much better service and friendly staff. read more

This place makes me sick and i wish i can give them 0 stars! i took my dog here to the grooming department and when i picked him up he had a huge cut in his stomach that needed to be glued back together! the vet told me he actually needed stitches but being that no1 called me as soon as it happened and she let him just stay and wait it already started to heel a little! no1 in the place said sorry and they almost made it seem like i was the one to blame! i would never ever go back and i would not tell any1 to go! I made an appointment for my two large breed dogs to be bathed and brushed at the Hamilton Marketplace PetSmart on 8/14/12. They told me to bring a copy of their medical records to prove they had been vaccinated for rabies. I am a veterinarian and keep their records at my home; I am the one who vaccinates them and performs their basic medical care. When I arrived to the store for their appointment at 8 in the morning, I had medical records shoved under one arm, two large dogs at the end of the other, an an infant strapped to my hip. I registered the dogs and was able to show through records that both dogs had been vaccinated for rabies multiple times, though their vaccine status had lapsed and they were past due for their shots. I was then told by the young woman checking me in and by two managers that they were unwilling to bathe my dogs. I offered to pay their veterinarian (remembering I AM a veterinarian) to vaccinate them both that day so that they could be bathed. They refused and said it was a concern that my dogs could have a "reaction" to the vaccine during their grooming session. As a veterinarian with over 12 years' experience I can say I have NEVER seen an ADULT, mixed breed dog that has had multiple prior vaccines develop a significant reaction to rabies vaccination. Along similar lines, there is no proof that rabies vaccination must occur exactly as scheduled in order for the animal to maintain immunocompetence against the virus. Veterinarians know these things - it's possible the people I talked to knew these things - but regardless, I was turned away and told there was nothing they could do. All three staff members explained to me that this policy that makes no medical sense is "corporate," and thus something over which they have no control. "It's corporate, you know," they said. Yes, I do. I certainly do. And I will not be returning. It is unfortunate that the PetSmart corporation doesn't allow its employees to think for themselves, to make judgments that will keep customers without risking anything. My dogs are healthy. They aren't ill, and they certainly aren't rabid. There was no risk to bathing and brushing them today alongside other dogs. And EVERY PERSON I TALKED TO IN THAT STORE KNEW IT. And they didn't have any authority or didn't care enough, one or the other or both, to do what made sense to provide a service and keep a customer. I have unsubscribed from PetSmart emails. I have cut up my Perks card. I will no longer be patronizing that corporation, and certainly not the Hamilton store. I'll be giving my dollars to a small, local pet store with reasonable owners and employees who are empowered to make client-oriented decisions and help me care for my pet. Not send me home with two dirty dogs and a baby strapped to my chest at 8:15 in the morning. I'll be vocally encouraging others to do the same. - Jamie B. read more

I have been bringing my dogs to Petsmart grooming for years at different locations. When I moved to the area 2 years ago I started here. They were ok, but convenient. Today I had a 10:30 appointment. I arrived at 10:20 but they wouldn't check my dog in because the groomer had not arrived yet. At 10:40 one of the groomers said, "Oh. I didn't realize the time. Do you want me to check you in?" There was another dog there waiting to be checked in for the same groomer. I said, "That's what we've been waiting for." The girl got very huffy and gave me attitude saying how they're "not supposed to do that." (Really? You're not supposed to provide customer service?) I did not like her attitude and I did not feel comfortable leaving my dog. I told her I was cancelling and walked out the door. I found the manager who was less than useless and said he was "going to reach out" to the late groomer to see where she was. He didn't apologize and offered no help. They just lost my business for good. read more
