I don't recommend buying anything from here ! They don't allow you to handle an animal even if you're considering buying it , how do you know if you want to purchase something if you can't even handle to see how it interacts with you ? I've been coming to this exact pet store for the last couple of months and see people holding and petting the hamsters , guinea pigs , and other things but now all the sudden I'm looking to purchase something all the sudden they have liability issues stating you can't hold them because that's how you spread diseases and blah blah blah but yet they have hand sanitizer and a bathroom where they can ask politely to have the customers use when they are done handling things if they have diseases or anything like they say then they shouldn't even be selling anything in the first place ! read more

At 9:30 this morning, the girl with the red hair at the counter was on her clipboard and checking out with her was bothering her because she was busy on her clipboard and then she said that the total was 320 and so I grabbed a five dollar bill and when I went down to get the quarter out of my pocketbook, she had already put it in the machine and so the drawer open and I said wait. I have this and she's like no it's easier I already did it and then she proceeded to fish out a dollar And $.80 in coins instead and then sat back down without looking up or saying anything else. Oh my God, take the poor girl off the counter if she doesn't wanna be there and she can't do math or any customer service. Came here to purchase a Beta fish and they did have a nice selection of them. We found one we loved and purchased him. We also purchased a little figure for his bowl. Purchased his glass bowl from Walmart for $4 because here at PetSmart they wanted $16 for a small plastic bowl. WTF? LOL Also purchased his food at Walmart because it was cheaper there. As for the store, it's an older one. It's not as bright as most stores and it could definitely use a good deep cleaning, As someone else said in a review, it's very dingy here. There was nothing inviting about the place that made me want to stay and look around, which I generally tend to do in pet stores. They also need to hire some more employees. We saw one employee in the whole store and he was at the cash register. The line to check out was extremely long too. Good thing we didn't need any assistance while we were shopping because we never would have found anyone. In the future, if I have another option to shop at a different pet store I definitely will. I will never take my cat to this place to be groomed EVER AGAIN. The girls are RUDE, INCONSIDERATE & care nothing about your cat. We traumatized our 4 yr old Main Coon trying to get her into a carrier she never had to be in before, only to be told they wont groom her because the knot we wanted combed out was "too close to her skin". And they determined that just by merely running a hand down her back. They said it had to be done by a vet. Then they referred us to an animal hospital that no longer does grooming. When we begged for help & explained what we had to go through to get the poor cat IN the carrier, they simply said there was nothing they would do to help us or our cat & left it at that. I had my dog groomed here and the groomer recommended a new kind of flea collar that is sold at the store and said that if it didn't work that I could return it. After a week of use, my dog still has live fleas. I went to return it to get my $60 back. But the manager of the store said it could not be returned because it had been opened. First of all how else was I supposed to know if it worked or not? I'm very disappointed that Petsmart does not stand behind the crappy products they sell. Fantastic service on a return! I called in advance and the lady made sure the aquarium was in stock, I bought one yesterday at another location s a Nd it has a leak. The service lady confirmed stock and I drove to the store, within four minutes I was on my way with a replacement tank, just a quick check of my receipt and my signature on the return documents. I took my Maltese to get groomed here. All I asked was that they DO NOT trim off the majority of her hair because it is thin and I prefer her a little fluffy. I also requested for her tear stains to be removed if possible. First, the service took four hours. Second, her body looked like she was attacked by a weed wacker. Third, they shaved her hair to the bone on her nose. No idea why anyone would ever think that would be cute. read more

Grooming department was very rude. Pretty much dismissed both of my pups the minute we got there but we still decided to have the services done since grooming can be hard to come by. When I went to pick them up, Vanessa gave me every excuse in the book as to why I shouldn't bring either of my dogs back. Haven't been able to book an appointment with Petsmart since as if there's a block on my account. My app states there's an issue so I must call and when I do, I'm on hold for 20 minutes just to be told no. It's very unprofessional. read more

Grooming staff is rude and unprofessional. the made a appointment to have my dog's nails clipped and when I arrived they told me I did not have an appointment. They said it was for the next day. I told them I wrote the time and date down and it was for the time and date they told me over the phone. The head groomer was extremely rude. I give this PetSmart 3 stars mostly due to the food prices. They have a good selection of holistic brands. I feed my dogs Wellness, and the cost for a 30 lb bag is usually 4 or 5 dollars cheaper here than at Petco. Aside from dog food, there is a nice selection of treats, cat items and collars. However this location is a little old and dingy. I advise steering clear of the restrooms if you can. My last visit was the first time I had used the restroom here, and it will be the last. The women's room was pretty dirty. I've never used the veterinary or grooming services here, but looking at previous reviews, I'll probably skip them and just come here for food. read more

I've been there twice and both times I've taken my dog somewhere else, because they won't even acknowledge you if they are currently servicing someone else. Two employees first thing in the morning I waited patiently for 10 minutes they both were engage with one costumer and never even approached me saying we will be right there with you. This was a horrible experience for my dog at the groomers. He's 9 months old and I had warned them that he didn't have good experiences with his past groomer. However, we had an appointment with David, and he was sick. Rachel the groomer claimed she had worked and groomed dogs for 15 years and didn't even finish my dogs haircut. My mom was notified to come get him and she hadn't even finished his cut leaving him with a horrible haircut and traumatizing experience. I brought Sadie and Tinkerbell here to have their nails trimmed. (A small and a medium size dog.) I dealt with David and . . . Vanessa? First of all, the nail trim was done better than it is done at my vet's. Short and smooth. But the most important thing, David was kind to my dog. When Tink was a little nervous, David called another stylist over to rest her hip against Tink, and lend physical comfort. I was on my way to adopt a cat from the local animal shelter. I was able to find everything I needed and even found several toys for $1. The cashier was so friendly and she let me know that I could bring my adoption paper in and get a lot of discounts and samples. The store itself is okay, the selection of pet medications are sparse and I believe that the good folks at the Banfield are to blame for that. They will lie TO YOUR FACE in order to get you in to the clinic and it's not a cheap visit. The woman there told me I needed a prescription for general perpose de-wormers. YOU DON'T. You can get them over the counter and you can get them online. The Wal-mart next door sells them for Pete's sake! Just don't expect to find them in THIS store. You almost can't even get a bottle of pet daily vitamins here without seeing the "vet". A total scam. A woman even tried to warn me about them as I was coming in. I should have listened. They really should make some friendlier changes to their policies, because they won't be seeing me or my dog around anymore. read more

They placed my puppy of only a few weeks old into a bigger group of dogs for her first training session. The trainer was told she didn't have all her final shots, but said they test every dog..... but one of the other dogs was a street rescue and violent, the owner showed us bite marks all on her forearm. My corgi puppy got a fever 2 days later and had multiple vet visits, including emergency vet in the middle of the night. I paid hundreds of dollars because of them. To date they refuse to give me a refund for the training classes ($125) and I only attended one class. I will never shop with this chain ever again. read more

This location is a decent store. I certainly prefer coming here instead of Petco. Aesthetics aren't great-rather stark actually. The prices are usually OK, but have noticeable increases every 6 months (it seems) with the store brand products. Had my westie groomed there yesterday, this is about the 3rd time. All groomers are wonderful, but David is amazing! My dog is almost 16 and has arthritis, can't see well or hear well and a skin issue. David was so tender with him. I snuck in and watched David when he didn't know, he was so gentle with my dog and I actually saw him kiss him on the nose. I don't normally shop at big chain pet stores like this, nor do I buy commercial dog food for my dogs. However, Petsmart mailed me a coupon for a FREE bag of dog food, any brand, up to 20 pounds. I decided to redeem the coupon so I could donate the bag of dog food to a local shelter. I went in to select a bag and was greeted by Marci, a rep for Blue Wilderness who was working in that Petsmart location (although she does not work for petsmart). Marci is a very sweet and spunky older lady who helped me select a dog food. We had a lovely chat about volunteer work, and teaching children to be kind to animals. She brought a couple bags of dog food up to the register for me to make sure I got the most out of my coupon. She was very proactive in helping me, and she was a delight to talk to. Petsmart should hire Marci for themselves, and I might just shop here more often! read more

I am a frequent customer of PetSmart in Lake Mary and am totally disgusted with the dog grooming staff. You can't help but watch the groomers groom the dogs as you are waiting in line to pay for your merchandise. I have noticed over the last 6 months the unprofessionalism and unkind way that the groomers handle the dogs. I thought it was a one time situation but the more and more I frequent this location, the more disgusted I get. Most dogs are scared going to the groomer to begin with but when the groomer grabs the dog by the mouth and tightens the leash to scare the dog even more because they are moving around, this is totally unacceptable.
