I run a bird rescue and we suddenly had some baby roadrunners come in. They eat insects at that age. I raced to PetSmart to pick up several dozen crickets. Arrived at 8:45p and was refused the crickets even though they were right in front of me. Supposedly only one person who works there can do the crickets and they left early today and the manager wouldn't come out of his little hidden office to take care of us. Ridiculous. There were three workers at the cash register chatting and no one would help me. I literally told them it was for some newly hatched roadrunners that came in and they just looked at me and said we don't care you're not getting crickets tonight. What the hell is wrong with people nowadays? Zero customer service. Needless to say I was very pissed off and made it known, loudly. Trust me avoid the unnecessary stress and go to Petco. read more

Four employees -- including the blonde girl and the girl with short black hair and long lashes -- all struggled to figure out something that should've taken ten seconds. The tags clearly said DOG on one pajama set and HUMAN on the other, yet they acted like they were the same item. They also kept insisting that sizes from XS to XL changed the price, which made zero sense. Watching four employees spend over 10 minutes trying to identify one basic price was honestly unbelievable. I had a grooming appointment for my two small sized dogs. I called specifically to ask if I could bring them in without my rabies verification as I was waiting for the vet office to email them to me. The girl I spoke with on the phone said that that would be FINE as long as I brought them at pickup. When I arrived with my two pups, I was met by a large groomer demanding records before they would see the dogs. That's the policy. I asked why this message was not relayed to me before I drove all the way there for the appointment. They had no answers and no one would admit to talking to me. This is the most unorganized , unprofessional location for dog grooming. My dogs shiver and are scared shitless every time I bring them here, so obviously they are not well kept while in their care. Blessing in disguise. I would NOT recommend taking your furry babies to PetSmart for grooming, EVER, especially the Arroyo location. read more

What bothered me is that one of the co- workers got mad at me because I interrupted them from talking by asking for help seeing a guinea pig and she got mad and kinda yelled and said I can't hear you Bebe you need to speak up. (she was the light skin girl at the register 03/26/26 I just pointed to Guinea pigs And Said Guinea Pigs. She sent someone else who was very nice. Now moving forward me and my fiancé stood at the front of the store waiting for my sister to finish shopping. The guinea pigs end up peeing on the floor . I nicely said excuse me to the worker and said the Guinea pig peed through the box and it got on the floor she Rudely said are you telling me so you can clean it or me and rolled her eyes. I understand people have bad days but that doesn't give her the right to be mean and rude to customers. Maybe she should have took the day off or something . I don't normally leave reviews but I have a puppy that's almost a year old and have brought her here twice to get her nails clipped and they are amazing with her every time. She was abused by someone else and found on the side of the road so she's terrified of everyone. She pees every single time and they are all so patient. One of the girls sprayed lavender on a towel for her and then traded off with the other girl that was assisting so that someone could be there to hug her and try to make her more comfortable. They go above and beyond and it is so appreciated. read more

Had to knock a star off after an odd and disappointing experience yesterday afternoon. Went to buy 12 single packages of wet food for my cats. As I was paying the effeminate male cashier, he asked me if I needed a bag. (Does anyone actually turn down a bag and carry 12 loose items in their hands instead of getting a bag?? ) When I said I wanted a bag, he let out a loud and dramatic sigh and rolled his eyes, as if that were the most painful thing he had heard all day. lol ok. that was odd. ...and rude. I didn't catch her name but she was super knowledgeable when it came to the extensive variety of fish that they have available. From their behaviors, to the names of all of the different species, to which ones that wouldn't get along with other ones. Just everything I needed to know she knew. And I'm super appreciative to her for that. So if there's anything whatsoever that I would need for my fish tank in the near or distant future, the place to go for me would definitely be petsmart. read more

The grooming section of this place is the absolute worst! I'm gonna start by saying they tell you things you wanna hear NOT the truth about things. They'll steal your money and won't do anything for your animal So many other nice places to go rather than this dump. Took my kitten in for a bath and brush which is something fairly simple. The result? Slob lazy Lacey let's call her that, tells me that the kitten ears were NOT dirty, she had "normal" pigments (but she wouldn't quit scratching her ears) and that she was such a "good girl" see you in 4-6 weeks... you ain't gonna see shit! They did NOT clean her ears at all, she came out smelling like a piss box, actually smelling worse than when she got in!! Wtf? I'm gonna make y'all return my little $30 dollars I wasted on y'all pathetic place. Will never return to this location nor any petsmart. Our fur babies do not deserve this kind of treatment. I am first time pet owner so needed a lot of information about vaccination, grooming etc. I was impressed with how helpful everyone was. The store is well organized and clean. Came here to get security gate for our puppy but ended up buying much more than that. I was looking for specific food for my husky puppy and the well labeled organized aisles made it easy to find food for the puppy. They also shared information about puppy guide and how to get best value on all services. I wish I remembered name of the lady at the register who helped us a great deal and didn't rush us at all. My bf said that even though our puppy wasn't there they treated us as if they knew our puppy. I would highly recommend this store and will be returning for all the services. read more

I should have listened to people telling me to never bring my dogs here. The worker's are not trained, they do an horrible job. They took my dog, and an hour later they called telling me they couldn't groom her, that she was too matted, that i should put her to sleep at the vet to get groomed. They left my dog half shaved, and she's been acting scared since then. Idk what they did, but it took me 10 minutes to finished grooming her at home. Their skills are horrible, please avoid coming here. I've never had any issues like this. When i came to pick them up, the worker was already working on another dog. The session is supposed to last 3-4 hrs, but she gave up in 1 hour. Horrible. read more

I ve been taking my dogs to this location for over 2 years...I had Nicole multiple times and Breana this time. Im always very satisfied with their job. I highly recommend this place however I also want to disclose that Im very detailed how I like my Romeo (mini poodle) or Coco (cockapoo) done. I also recommend purchasing a buy 9 get 3 free grooming deal package to lower the cost of regular grooming and if you stick with the same person it also gets easier on your dog I think. read more

I wished I read the Yelp review of this PetSmart's grooming service before booking with them, and now I'm paying the price. After reading the reviews and based on my experience, this place's grooming service definitely needs work. We booked an grooming appointment for 6/10 night three weeks prior on 5/22. And they called us a day prior to the service saying they are short on people so they had to cancel the appointment without taking any responsibility. When we asked for the reason, they simply said it's due to overbook and the groomer is going on vacation for 10 days. This lady had a lackluster attitude while all we are trying to do is finding another way to get our puppy in for grooming at around the same time since we had made plans during the 3 hour grooming season. The phone call ended with ME saying "that's ok you can cancel the appointment we will call other petsmarts" and the LADY ended the phone call with "Fine" Yes... you read that right. I guess the lady was unhappy I am going to take my puppy elsewhere instead of rescheduling for the next day. Though I fully understand last minute shortage of staff happens, I feel like a vacation is something the staff can plan ahead of time. If you are to cancel, and the customer request if you can check the availability of the same time in other location, don't throw a fit, hit us with a nasty attitude, and tell us "No I have no access!" I'm sure you have a reason for being so bitter but I have my reason for needed to book for that time slot as well. Unfortunately Petsmart on Arroyal Crossing will still be a popular spot for pet owners to groom due to the store brand, but I honestly believe they could offer better service and own up to their mistakes. A better training or selection of talent can do this store wonders. read more

Im not the type to complain but.. Petsmart store is great. No complaints there. Expensive but that's everywhere now and days. But the groomers? Omgg I'm good. Never going back to them even when I'm desperate. Keep giving them chances just hoping to find a good groomer. But, every time.. every *** time. They come back worst then how they went in. And I paid 200 plus tip for choppy uneven work. Rather just invest that 200 on clippers and do it myself. And then my pup comes back injured. They said he was sleeping and probably slept on it wrong. It's been 2hours now and my Poor guy can't even get up to walk to get water or food without his leg shaking and he won't move two steps. I had to pick him up to and from and bring his bowls to him. I will monitor him for the rest of the day if it doesn't get better I'll definitely be talking to someone. read more

I asked for assistance on toys that would be good for my puppy going through the teething stage outside of the puppy bones and plush toys. She gave me advice on a rope toy that and the red ball like toy (pictured). Honestly I would have never thought twice about either but it was worth it. They both keep my puppies attention and good to play with our older dog with. The reason for the four star is the rest of the staff doesn't seem very proactive as much with their customer service - delaying in seeing if someone needs help. Today after purchasing a few items and giving some donation out in parking lot I noticed on receipt that the cashier has charged me twice for one item. When I walked back in to get refund she ( should I say without even apologizing) refunded me short of what I paid which showed on printed receipt. I did not notice it until I walked out toward parking lot again. This mistake on top of her rude attitude got me walk to her mgr. I was so shocked to see the mgr on duty was more clueless and rude than the cashier! He did not even apologize only tried to make it look like I am the one who is wrong! When he noticed I am getting pissed at this situation he ran to cashier's drawer to hand me two quarters! to get rid of me!! Terrible experience and attitude both cashier and mgr obviously never been to school to learn basic math! I do not recommend this location and actually want to warn others to double check their receipt. They charge you something and if you ever want to get money back they reduce the amt in their own bizarre way and feel so entitled! read more

We signed up for a beginner training course, the class is 6 weeks and it was $119 dollars. Our trainer was Kaylee. She was really great! Friendly, informative, great with the dogs and understanding. There was one other dog in our class which was nice because there wasn't tons of dogs and it was awesome because we could just focus on the only two dogs there. If you have a dog and are interested in training classes, I highly recommend petsmart. Was pleasantly surprised to see that they do a decent job despite their reviews on Yelp! My schnauzer is sometimes not the greatest of dogs, he's defensive and sensitive in certain spots. But they said he did pretty well and was extremely friendly which I appreciated! They did, however, miss a little spot on his beard but he is quite sensitive in that area so I understand. I've been coming to this pet supplies chain store since adopting my pitbull-lab mix (she's gone, rip, my love); fast forward, two dogs later. I like that there are better treat options (less ingredients). My current female dog (jack-russell-terrier mix) has some stomach issues (not like our previous male dog- he had a bunch of allergies, come to find out), so it's nice to know that pet owners have options. Our son's asked for more pets, but no, he's already got one pet fish (we'll call this one the overflow pet) at his Grandpa's house. read more

They take a comb and rake lightly and will say that your dog is matted we have to shave your dog. My advice, take your own comb and run it through your dogs hair. Make sure you brush your dog BEFORE you go there. My opinion, they don't like grooming Goldendoodles!!! too much work!!! Take your dog elsewhere. I have never used their grooming department before so I can't give any sort of opinion on their department. The overall store is clean, usually well stocked, and the staff is normally friendly. The fish tanks use to be pretty bad but with the new employees they seem to be keeping up in the cleanliness and overall health of the fish they are caring for. Quite often when air use to come in you would find a large number of fish dead or dying. It was extremely sad to watch and concerning that the employees weren't more aware or motivated to remove the fish. read more
