I made an appointment to have my dog groomed, and when I took her in, the groomer REFUSED to groom her. My dog has shorter hair than most dogs, but it has grown out quite a bit since I first rescued her. Her fur is growing over her butt hole and paws, and it's shedding like crazy from her belly. All I wanted was a nice bath for her and a fur trim. The groomer refused to groom her saying all this stuff about how her hair isn't long enough, and I wouldn't really know how long it gets because I have not had her for that long. RUDE. She is MY dog, and if I think her hair is too long, then I have the right to have her groomed. The groomer was extremely unprofessional and pretty much deterred me from every taking my dog there to be groomed or shopping there ever again. No customer service whatsoever and did not have mine or my dogs interests at heart. read more

Like a previous reviewer, I would give 0 stars if it were an option. We had taken one of our dogs here before for nail grinding and were satisfied, but recently we have been grinding them at home. However today we needed to get both their nails done quickly and decided to just take them to PetSmart. BIG MISTAKE. We have 2 dogs, Maci, a 75lb GSD mix and Marshall, a 40lb cattle dog mix. Maci had been here multiple times before with no issues. Today we were getting checked in by one groomer and said we wanted grinding, to which another groomer, who was busy shaving a Westie down to his skin, said her nails are way too long to grind they have to be clipped and then have the grinding because the grinder will get too hot. Wrong. We have the same grinder they use and it has never gotten hot at home. I told them that she has long quicks so her nails are never super short because of that. She didn't believe me apparently and told the first girl to charge us for the clip and grind which was $20. I should have left then. Instead I let them take Marshall, who we warned them is very fearful. After about 20min, they paged us back and said they couldn't do his front paws at all. Knowing that he gets scared, I said ok we'll do it at home I want him out of here. After giving them Maci and taking Marshall out, it was clear that he had expressed his anal gland out of fear and they didn't even clean him up at all or try to cover it up with spray. You are groomers, you have wipes and spray. Have some decency and at least act like you care that you literally scared the shit out of my dog. I cleaned him up the best I could with a paper towel and told my husband to take him outside to calm him down. When I was paged back for Maci, the girl handed her to me and said "I did what I could" which apparently wasn't much. I didn't even want to get into it there, so I said ok, took my receipt, paid and left. My main concern was getting my dogs out of there and away from this place. After looking at their nails at home, Marshall's back paws did look ok, but the front weren't touched, yet we were still charged full price. Maci's back paws also looked ok, but her front paws looked maybe a hair shorter than they were when we got there. Clearly, they were not clipped and barely grinded. Again, we were charged full price. We will NEVER shop at PetSmart or bring our dogs here again and urge you to stay away. I'm not sure if they train their groomers or not, but the ones we dealt with were not knowledgeable or friendly. These people are complete idiots! They pretend like they care about these animals, but reality is way too different. Their adoption process is so difficult, I think it's easier to get invited to get a ride in the Secret Service car than to adopt an animal at this place. Also, no one will ever even call you for an "interview " so there goes your chance. You basically stand no chance. They will basically tell you that you are not the right person no matter how much you want to provide a great and loving home for an animal. Nothing you do /say will make them believe that you are a normal person that is willing to love an animal like your family member. They think its better for an animal to sit in that prison , i meant cage sorry, and eat dry food all day long and have no contact with anyone whatsoever, than to realistically give people a chance to adopt where an animal could be free to roam, and eat ten times better food than what they feed them. Also, those kids that work there wont even touch the cats when you ask to meet a cat; its so obvious they dont like/care for them. They will just tell you to take the cat out of the cage yourself. When i first got my dog i would take her here and had no complaints. Then she came home with a cut on her leg (luckily they have a vet there who said it wasn't bad enough for stitches but i had to give her antibiotics). Then when i would pick her up they didn't cut her like i asked them to and i was going to have to bring her back and pay again to have them cut her the way i wanted. Stopped in to buy some fish. I knew exactly what I wanted before I walked in. The problem came when I was looking for assistance. I had 3 employees walk by me without any offer to help. Each time I told them I needed to get some fish...each time I was told to hold on. Only one of the three employees was helping another customer. Very disappointed!!! Just recently moved close to this location. Called and made an appointment for my dog to be groomed, girl on the phone set the appointment a little over a week away. Never indicated we needed anything for this appointment. Day before the appointment someone called to give a reminder and just right before she hung up said by the way, bring the dog's shot records. So morning of appointment, we go the the store....First, we had to figure out how to get in the store at 8am because no one told us we had to ring the bell that early in the morning to get in, secondly the grooming staff arrived 10 minutes after our appointment time. And thirdly, for the girl to tell us that our dog had to have a particular shot to be groomed that day......to put it mildly I was a bit peeved! Come on folks, do your job and let your customers know all the particulars. We're not mind readers. Sad thing is we received a call the next day asking how our experience was and when we told them what happened, they didn't even offer any kind of compensation. I love fish and so does Petsmart. They treat the fish with love and care (even the feeder ones). The crickets are always good for my lizard too, when I decided to change up the diet and used Feeders Supply crickets my Lizard was constipated and it took 2 days to fix the baby boy. I would recommend this Petsmart to anyone wanting to start a fish tank or anyone who is a seconded veteran. read more
