I will never set foot in that store again. Grooming area especially. Called to asked why my girls nails were not grinned and the little girl started to argue with then transferred me to the store manager. I had taken my girls there a few times nothing was done right and I tipped them $10 each visit. Each state I have lived in it was the same bullshit including the hospital department. If you need to get great service go to Petco.

Keryn is an absolutely amazing groomer and Jaskier adores her. We wouldn't take him anywhere else!

Grooming: Took the 3 dogs to the groomers, One dogs was great! One was ok, still needed a little brushing. But My third, His penis area is still crusty with mud, his inside legs are still crusty and his ears are still funky, They told me they couldn't blow dry him cause he wouldn't allow it.... And said they brushed him..... does this look brushed?! Tried to tell them I wanted my money back and they said no. Because One was nippy, yet he was fine When I followed up at a self grooming station at petco, he was fine with the groomer there under the dryer & when she tested out brushes (to see which I needed to buy) So idk.... I'm pissed I wasted $120 on half ass jobs. And highly don't recommend.

Horrible experience! We dropped off our puppy to be groomed. They were slow, but theystill didn't call us for pickup for two hours. We arrived to pick him up and he was acting weird, scared and crying. We started to comfort him and realized HIS TAIL WAS BROKEN IN TWO PLACES, while in the PetSmart grooming salon! The girl offered us $10.00 off! When we made a complaint we were dismissed. DO NOT TRUST PETSMART ON SOUTH WILL WILL YOUR FUR BABIES!

I get the SPA version of grooming which is the most expensive around 70$ each time every 8 weeks. I have a 4 year old shih tzu and she always comes back from this place as if she's been traumatized. I notice the difference from when I would take her to a private groomer who was able to pay individualized attention to her and only had 4 dogs at a time to care for within the time period I left Leia there. I would have to expect that Leia gets the generic department store grooming experience due to the volume of dogs, the speed with which they are expected to deliver and the way the kennel space is set up with dogs stacked on top of each other. Each of the groomers seems lovely and they have the window so you can watch as the dogs are groomed and check for quality control. The spawdicure comes with a facial, massage and I include the oatmeal bath because my dog has hypersensitive skin. They say they brush their teeth but it must be superficial because i don't notice a difference. Also, I've seen some nicks on my dogs face-that may also be because I ask for her to be shaved super low to accomodate the frequent baths I give her due to her sensitive skin. I've included a picture of the outcome. I continue to go here because of convenience of location and there is nothing outright alarming about my dog's safety or health when she is returned to me. Just that she acts crazy like she wants to get out of there when we leave however again I think thats because of the volume of pets being kenneled. When they check in the pet, they could be friendlier however I am sure they are stressed due to some pets not being comfortable with grooming and dog parents can be crazy. They always call to let us know when the dog can be picked up. Also, they have let me drop Leia off in the morning and as long as she is picked up by COB, they don't charge extra for the kennel fee or watching her while I'm at work.

I was nervous to drop her off for the 2 week board and train, but I can honestly say that it was worth every penny and I am still in shock at how much she learned. When I dropped her off she would pull on the leash and could not be left unattended for any amount of time because she would get into everything! Now she walks by my side (even off leash), sits and stays until released, does "place" on a raised area (stays until released) and no longer jumps at anything and everything that walks near her! She learned 7 commands (sit, down, come, release, heel, place and off). I am so happy :-). I will be recommending Kerry and off leash training to everyone I know who gets a dog. I wish I could put into words how incredible ADG is, but no words could ever truly do it justice…read more My dog, Winnie, is a pretty needy pup. As a rescue who needed a full hip replacement and has a history of neglect, she has higher needs than the average dog. She's cautious about everything, but once she trusts you, she loves wholeheartedly. However, after Winnie's previous boarding and training experience resulted in neglect, I was incredibly hesitant and anxious about trusting anyone new with her. We were so fortunate that Angell MSPCA recommended ADG to us. Winnie is such a special dog, and as her mom, I want to give her the very best. From day one, ADG has gone above and beyond to earn not only Winnie's trust but mine as well. Even after spending so much time with them, they continue to show the same level of care, compassion, and professionalism every single day. One of the things that sets ADG apart is how attentive they are to every dog's individual needs. They don't take a one-size-fits-all approach. Whether it's training, daycare, or day school, they use current, science-based methods and tailor their care to help every dog succeed. It's clear that they truly understand canine behavior and are committed to setting dogs up for long-term success rather than simply managing them. They have always been incredibly accommodating and are willing to step in and help at a moment's notice. Every single staff member has been extraordinary. Knowing Winnie is loved, understood, and cared for as if she were their own gives me a level of peace I never thought I'd have after what we've been through. I truly cannot thank the entire ADG team enough. They have made such a positive difference in both Winnie's life and mine, and I will forever be grateful.

However, I was very surprised when I asked what a typical full daycare day actually looks like. I was told the dogs play for about 1 1/2 hours in the morning, are then crated for approximately 3 hours, play another 1 1/2 hours in the afternoon, and are then crated for another 3 hours. If they're still there around 5:00 p.m., they're taken outside for a potty break before pickup. For me, that was shocking. I completely understand that dogs need rest periods, but I wasn't expecting that the majority of a full daycare day would be spent in a crate. My dogs are rarely crated at home, so this wasn't the right environment for them, especially considering the cost. I'm sharing this because I think it's an important question that many people may not think to ask. Before enrolling your dog, ask exactly what a full daycare day consists of and how much time your dog will actually be playing versus being crated. That information made my decision immediately, and I chose not to leave my dogs there.

Sue works out of Club Canine in Portsmouth, NH along with K9 Kaos in Dover, NH in addition to at your own home personal training and pet sitting/training. Chewie was an abused dog on death row in Arkansas and I had taken him to a group trining class at Club Canine in Portsmouth run by Sue. Chewie was the only small dog in the room but she made sure to give each dog and owner personalized attention and he graduated the class with flying colors; after a while he looked forward to going to these weekly classes and stopped trying to cower away from the door or pull me away from the building. After graduation my husband and I hired Sue for at home personalized training with Chewie to get him used to being near and interacting with other dogs. Of course Chewie will always be a work in progress and I curse the individuals who hurt him but he has made giant strides for such a little guy, thanks to the help of Sue. A few years later we found another rescue that we had fallen in love with, she was found in a hoarding/ breeding home in TN and was rescued after Animal Control found out she was pregnant. One of her puppies did not make it and after working with her very loving fosters she started becoming healthy and was ready for adoption. Velma, being so young, came with a whole new set of issues and we called upon Sue again for at home training which she always followed up with emails. Velma has problems with potty training plus she and Chewie were not getting along by any means and Sue helped us immensely. After several months of working with the dogs, taking Sue's advice, they are now best friends and I have a hard time remembering those first few months. My husband and I ended up buying our first home recently and hired Sue yet again for at home personalized training as the dogs become acclimated to their new space, environment and neighborhood surrounded by families with their own dogs. Sue practiced walking around the neighborhood with us and the dogs by pointing out body language and how to react in the situations that came up. She was also kind enough to bring her new pup, Nacho, into the back yard to observe the dogs behaviors with one another. I highly recommend Sue's personal training AND group classes as each have added so much to our lives with our rescue pups. This career choice was definitely a calling! We all love Sue so much, dogs included, we found out she does overnight care and she will be looking after Velma and Chewie when we go on a mini vacation later on this year! This is coming from a person who doesn't trust a soul with her dogs and would usually just take them on vacation with us.... Sue is the most trustworthy person I know and I trust her fully with my fur babies.

We reached out the Atlantic at a complete loss of how to help our sweet Ollie boy succeed. They were nothing but kind, communicative and supportive during our initial conversations, and put us completely at ease about sending our boy to the two-week bootcamp, a choice that was incredibly hard for us! Ollie is a five year old Australian Shepherd/Poodle mix who went to training pre-pandemic and has always been incredibly shy with strangers. Before 2020, this manifested as leash reactivity and we were working hard at it when social distancing went into place. Post-pandemic, we tried every method we could find to try and help him with this, but despite all efforts, his reactivity increased tenfold to include dogs and small children. Sometimes he would he completely fine, and other times, he would aggressively bark and lunge at dogs and kids. It was so stressful that we started keeping him away from other dogs, and our small nieces and nephews to be safe. Ollie's alert barking additionally reached an all time high in the summer of 2023, and his counter-surfing was out of control. We decided it was officially time to get professional help. My husband and I want to start a family soon, and were terrified to think that Ollie's unpredictability could jeopardize his relationship with our future kids. His alert barking was creating a near-constant level of stress in our home, and we couldn't imagine how Ollie would be able to function happily or be involved as our family continues to grow. Throughout the two weeks of bootcamp, we got daily communication about Ollie's progress from the team and pictures of him playing happily during break times. Most importantly, however, K-9 Atlantic has completely transformed our boy, and given us the utmost confidence that Ollie will be the BEST big brother someday. He is literally like a different dog in all of the best ways. He's still our sweet, snuggly, silly boy, but without all of the incessant barking and sneakiness! His reactivity is now basically nonexistent, and he happily plays with our little nieces and nephews when they come over! He is a rockstar on and off-leash. We've even slowly integrated meeting new dogs in controlled settings, and he has been so very successful. He hasn't even counter surfed (despite us purposely leaving chicken on the counter in his reach in order to practice!!!!). Ollie's newfound confidence shines in his ability to meet new people and have experiences without all of the anxiety that he displayed prior to his time at K-9 Atlantic. He is the best version of himself, and we are so beyond proud of the good boy his has become!!! I don't know what magic the K-9 Atlantic team did with him while he was training, but we cannot believe that he is the same dog. He has been SO good, and an absolute angel while practicing. We are beyond grateful for everyone at Atlantic for truly transforming our boy and our lives. We can never thank you enough!

She's incredibly sweet and submissive with other dogs, but she loved to jump on people and had a habit of pulling hard on the leash during walks. At 60 pounds, it was definitely a lot to manage! From the start, Kylie and the Atlantic K9 team were amazing--professional, knowledgeable, and so caring. Brinley attended their two-week bootcamp, and I'll admit, it was hard sending her away for that long with no visits. I was worried she might feel abandoned, but Atlantic K9 made the experience so much easier. They uploaded pictures every day of her playing with other dogs, looking happy and confident, with a smile bigger than I've ever seen on her. It was clear she was having the time of her life--more like a fun vacation than "training camp." When Brinley came home, the transformation was incredible. She has great recall, walks beautifully on leash, and I can now even let her walk off-leash with full confidence. She's learned to stay in her "place," respond to "no" consistently, and--best of all--she no longer jumps on people! I'm so grateful to Kylie and the entire Atlantic K9 team for their compassion, communication, and the amazing results they delivered. Brinley is happier, calmer, and more connected to me than ever. I can't recommend Atlantic K9 Training enough!

When I contacted him about our 7 month old beagle Bullet, I was at the end of my rope! He had numerous behavioral issues from the time we brought him home at 8 weeks old. He displayed resource aggression over objects, never listened to anything we said, wouldn't come when called, pulled terribly when walking on leash, constantly walked the floors, slept very little, howled loudly and continuously whenever we put him in his crate, etc. In short, he was completely wild, uncontrollable, and was making our lives miserable every day. By the time I contacted Rob, we had already tried having a trainer come to our house for weekly sessions and completed PetSmart's puppy and intermediate training classes with little to no success. When I spoke with Rob on the phone, it was the first time since the week we brought Bullet home that I truly had hope that he wasn't a lost cause. Rob explained his board and train program and the techniques he uses thoroughly, and I was immediately impressed and felt confident in his knowledge and abilities. Even more importantly, he told me that he definitely believed he could help. When we hung up, I actually began to believe that Bullet's bad behavior could change, and it felt like a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders. During the training process, Rob brought Bullet home for weekly sessions with us so we could see what he had learned and participate in his training and learn along with him. Every session, Bullet's behavior got better and better, and we were always very pleased with the progress he had made. Those sessions were invaluable to us because of how much we learned about how to maintain his training after he came home. Rob even kept him for two extra weeks at no additional charge because he didn't feel Bullet was quite where he needed to be with his training and wanted more time to get it right. Bullet has been home almost two weeks now, and we are absolutely amazed at how different he is! He listens to and obeys commands, he comes whenever we call him, he heels very well on walks and doesn't pull on leash, he sleeps during the day like he should, sleeps in his crate all night and never whines or howls, and is just an all around good boy. He's so much more content, relaxed, and obedient than he was before Rob's program. Bullet is honestly like a totally different dog. Now we truly enjoy being with him instead of feeling constantly irritated and on edge all the time. Bullet has gone from being a source of constant frustration to being a source of constant joy and companionship. We told everyone we knew after that first session that we would have paid the full fee if that first session was the only session. We can now take him into just about any situation with a relaxed mindset and confidence that we have control over him on, or off the leash. Rob's no-nonsense approach put us at ease and simply worked. Our private lessons took place at our house, a couple of other locations "in the world" and ended with dog introductions at his house with some of the board and train dogs. Rob worked to deliver on every single thing we told him we were concerned about when we spoke with him before we started lessons, sometimes remembering concerns that we had long forgotten. We're now taking what we learned in our sessions with Huck to train our now 4-month-old puppy in the same way. We recommend Rob to everyone we possibly can, and will continue doing so every chance we get. Thanks, Rob!

Dolci has always been a very smart puppy, and we taught her basic commands on our own. But we always struggled with some important things - loose/off leash walking, stay commands, and consistent recall. Despite how much we loved her, Dolci was adding significant stress into our lives. Walking her became a chore, as we struggled to prevent her for lunging at birds and eating anything and everything that was on the sidewalk. We also had a scary incident where she escaped from a fenced-in park off leash and ignored her recall. At some point, we realized that this was an unsustainable situation, and admitted that we didn't have the time or expertise needed to train Dolci on our own. Since taking Dolci to her first consultation at First Choice, we have been blown away by their professionalism, knowledge, and care. Ashy was Dolci's main trainer and was always excellent. She would always provide us detailed explanations of training concepts, kept us up to date about Dolci's progress (with Ashleigh's help!), and we always felt like she loved Dolci as much as we did. Deciding to pull the trigger on sending Dolci away for the off-leash training program was not easy. I worried that the Dolci we got back 4 weeks later would not be the same dog I knew and loved. But ultimately I had in faith the people we met and was heartened by other reviews I had read online. Since getting Dolci back, we have been blown away with what Ashy and First Choice were able to accomplish. Dolci has mastered sit/down/ bed (all with implied stays), recall, and off-leash heel/walking. But the changes went far beyond the commands - Dolci was more confident, and was able to focus in a way she never had before. She responds to our more subtle cues, which has increased our trust in her 10x. Walking her, which used to be stressful, is now a joy. Taking her to off-leash parks is now a normal part of our routine. At the end of the day, our lives have improved dramatically as a result of the training. And Dolci, who I once feared would have her personality "trained out of her", is happier and more herself than ever before. We would highly recommend First Choice to anyone looking for training for their dogs.

We met with KB for a consult and knew immediately he was the one for the dogs, especially Piper. We boarded them for training for 5 weeks and what a difference!!!! KB and Ashleigh were fantastic with providing weekly updates, pictures and were always there should we have questions. Once the 5 weeks were over, we spent two sessions one on one with KB so he could train us as well and continue the progress. We also take the dogs to group classes when we can. Piper's confidence has skyrocketed, she can settle down in any situation and responds perfectly. She will always have an introverted personality, but seeing her progress and relax has been amazing. Whiskey is perfect with commands off leash and on, has manners, and is a typical happy goofy retriever puppy. We trust KB and his staff without question and have also boarded the dogs with them when we needed "babysitters". Highly recommend First Choice Canine!
