Yesterday, Saturday, May 23rd, 2026, we stopped by PetSmart on SW 88th Street and 168th Avenue to buy cat food and decided to check out the new cat adoption partner, Animal Lovers Rescue LLC. The kitten display area had great lighting and was extremely clean and well organized, with small signs on each window showing the breed name and age. There was also plenty of staff around helping customers interested in adopting kittens. When I first entered the store, I honestly did not expect to adopt a kitten. However, we completely fell in love with one of the calico female kittens they called Galina. All it took was holding her in my arms and hearing her sweet little meows and purrs and at that moment, I knew she would become our new fur baby. Manager Joseph was amazing and helped us through all the paperwork, and our new baby, now named Pixie, officially found her forever home. Many thanks to Joseph and the entire staff at PetSmart West Kendall for their outstanding service. This experience was so much more than simply buying supplies or adopting a pet, we added another family member, and they truly understood how special that moment was for us. read more

First time taking our pups to the groomers here. They're about to be a year old. Mia got spooked tore her leash and ran into the store before I could put the leash on her. The manager had a cow and started screaming at my husband and I. We grabbed a leash so we could walk her over since their grooming is in the back. She accused of us stealing the leash that we used to walk her over. Unnecessary. If that's the type of manager you have representing your store than you need a new one. read more

Yelp 100 Challenge 2017: 52/100: Pet Smart is mostly my "go-to" place when it comes to getting everything for my two cats, Mancha and Piojo. From Piojo's Prescription S/O Diet, to Mancha's Dental diet. From their Organic Catnip to awesome toys for them. A bit expensive, but less expensive than other big and well known pet stores. However I am able to get supplies here that I can't find in other pet supply stores. Customer service is very friendly and this Pet Smart has a Banfield Animal Hospital inside. Both my Cats are part of their Wellness plan, which PetSmart promotes and I am very happy with their accessibility. read more

This location is super hit or miss. I've had great experiences and not so great. I always bring my dog as she's a social butterfly who loves meeting other dogs. Most of the employees are super friendly and helpful and I haven't experienced any issues with items being out of stock. I'll keep going just for the chance to take my little girl out and about and let her pick out new toys. read more

To my understanding it had a parasite which they should've told me when I purchased my reptile but they said they do not check for parasites or anything else which is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. I've had two of the worst experiences at this location's groomer. They razor burned my dog so bad that she didn't even want to use the bathroom or move and I had to take her to the vet for ointment. They knew what they did and paid for her visit at least. More recently, I made an online appointment (like I do every couple of months for my pup) and found out they canceled it on their own accord and the groomer went home for the day. When I get there, they let me know they called me 3 times when I only received one phone call an hour before my appointment when I was already getting ready to bring her over to get groomed. This has never happened to me and I've been taking her to get groomed for a long time. Standard practice is to call the day before and you're still supposed to keep the appointment. Definitely not bringing her here again. read more

This is the closest pet store I have to my house and it's HUGE! Full of great things for your pets. Who knew there could be so many awesome things for your pet and for YOU that can make your life alittle more convenient. Staff: To start off there's never a moment when you walk in and there isn't someone greeting you with a great attitude. The staff is just awesome! They love my puppy and already know her by name! Everytime I walk in she gets spoiled with attention. Even when I go in without her I am always approached and asked in what way I can be helped. If there is something in particular that I could use help finding. All the staff seem to have pets of their own which is great because they can give you first hand opinions which are really helpful! There is one staff member who is always super friendly and loves petting my pup, turns out she's the manager. That's awesome to see that even the manager can show that they truly care about their customers! Groomers: My puppy goes in there a smelly long nailed chewing monster and comes out a manicured, perfume smelling princess with fresh chompers to keep on with her daily chewing! All the groomers are exceptional, you can tell they really enjoy animals. I walk in and everyone is automatically excited and they all know my pup by name and she is even excited to see them! She walks in and just forgets I'm there. Doesn't even notice that I'm dropping her off. At first it was like dropping your kid off at kindergarten and them not even saying goodbye but now I'm happy that she's comfortable and treated like a princess. Inventory: SOOOOOOOOOO many cool things! You have from all kinds of food for ALL kinds of animals to any outfit you could ever picture your animal wearing. Everytime I drop my pup off when I come back I don't just leave with her.. I leave with new toys. New treats, cute outfits. It's pretty obsessive but I love it! If you're a pet parent who actually loves pet shopping and knowing their pet is being treated like they should I totally recommend this store. OH I forgot to mention. First off i had placed an order for same day delivery from the kendall store. Somehow door dash screwed up the order and store. After calling I was told the order was at west kendall store and due to be delivered the next day. I needed it the same day. I was told by door dash if i cancelled my order i would not get a refund immediately. So i went to the west kendall store and the manager Jessica was awesome! would not recommend groomers. yes it's convenient and walk-ins are welcome which is great but I took my puppy there once and never again. I'm not sure what they gave him but he has was sick the next week. he had diarrhea for three days. and to top it off they didn't even trim his coat as i asked. just not good. read more

So I purchased the 6 week /$100 training package for my dog. Once a week for 1 hr. He did great. The instructor Sebastian was excellent. He taught my pup how to sit,lay, and obey. It was a basic obedience class, but I feel my dog really benefited from the classes. It's a perfect start for your dog if your thinking of training. read more

After feeling that I had received the bare minimum in service at their grooming department, I attempted a conversation with the lady manager on duty... LOVE the grooming salon. I've been taking JJ for about a year now. He's a little spunky terrier, and I'm happy they know how to work with his personality. The store is also great. The staff is always available to assist, and they usually don't have long lines. Banfield is great, but it can get a little busy during evening hours. This review is specific to their grooming salon. Grooming Complaint: My fiancé and I took our Aussiedoodle Bailey to the grooming salon Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 8:00am. Bailey was to be picked up at 11:00am, but by 11:45am we still had not heard from the groomer. I called and was told by the receptionist that Bailey was going to be ready in an hour. At 2:00pm (over 2 hours later) we finally heard from the Stylist that Bailey was ready to go home. Bailey looked great. And although we were upset with how long the process took, we still thanked the stylist for her hard work, paid the bill, and left her a tip. We were told by Baileys stylist that she was unable to do a full brushing of Baileys teeth, because Bailey got uncomfortable during the cleaning. Which we understood and were fine with. That is the only service she mentioned she did not do. Since her grooming day, Bailey has been leaking poo liquid from her butt. We knew that part of the grooming package was the Anal Gland Expression, so we dismissed it as a normal side effect. The next day Bailey had more leakage and was licking her butt uncontrollably and even walking differently, like she was in pain. Her pooping has not been normal, she has had diarrhea and even pooped all over herself. Today, September 20, 2017, I contacted the grooming to find out exactly what was done to Bailey. If she was given food, anything that could explain what was happening. The individual who answered told me that the Grooming Manager was coming in and that my information would be passed on. An hour passed and I still had not heard back from anyone, so I called again. I was greeted over the phone by the grooming manager and was a little upset because she hadn't called me. I explained to her what was happening to Bailey and she was of no help. The stylist told her that she did not express Baileys anal glands, because she is a big dog. I found this very odd, because she mentioned at pickup the service she did not do and this was not it. If this is something that I paid for, why wasn't I told before and only after I complained of what was happening to Bailey. We spent $90 on this service and it has been a nightmare. We will never take our dog to this grooming salon ever again. read more

My dogs love this place. I guess i do also....but i always end up spending alot more money than expected. Dogs have such cool things nowadays. Another benefit is the Banfield pet vet that is located there. There is never a wait unlike the Kendall one where you would have to spend an entire day and yes i have doggie insurance on my pooches....lol. The staff of petsmart and banfield are always super helpful and knowledgeable and always help me out when i need it. I continue to come here for my pet needs. :) read more

I don't have a dog but my boyfriend and I took his dog here and he came out great! He had a nice shower and his nails clipped and came out looking quite handsome. The people who groomed him were very nice and mentioned how well-behaved he was and a pleasure working with him so it was nice to hear their compliments. The cashier was nice and efficient and there was no weird smell in the store. I don't know if you know what I'm talking about but sometimes pet stores have this repelling odor- not this one. We walked in to get nail grinding for our 5 months old puppy. The lady at the grooming section asked us a proof of rabies vaccination. We showed her a county tag that has a year "2015" on it and she said that may not up-to-date ????? and asked us the numbers on the tag and called Miami county to check. IT WAS SUNDAY ! of course they close ! Last time Julian was the one who helped us with no problems. read more

Quite possibly the worst dog grooming haircut and nail grinding job in the country. Our dog was unbrushed with hair hanging all over her. They left Razer marks all over her looking like cornrows. When asked to regroom her neglected stomach and legs the groomer didn't respond and just grabbed the dog and sloppily shaved her bottom. Her nails were not smooth either. Our dog is regularly groomed and this will be the first and last time at this location. Petsmart needs to take a long look at the quality and skill level of their groomers. For a $57 haircut and nail clip I expected much more than minimal effort. A good manager should have the "help wanted" sign out tomorrow. read more

We brought our 8 year old Pom for his first grooming and flea bath to this location. We had always just bathed him at home and were very nervous for this first experience . We had the good luck to meet Roxana, a groomer at this location. She is very knowledgeable, very sweet, very caring and put us completely at ease. I purchased the dog and brush package and I was so disappointed in the outcome. After dropping my dog offI waited 3 hrs so I called to check if he was done. The lady then answered that it usually takes 3-4 hrs for the service which online it says 2 hrs... I then told her that I had dropped him at 1 and it was already 4:15. She then told me to start coming that he should be done by the time I get there. Once I got there and they start walking him towards me I could already tell that he wasn't bathed at all. My dog is an Australia Cattle dog with medium- long hair and when his coat is blow dried you could tell cause his hair stays fluffy for a while. Then I touched and he felt sticky just like if they had just put the perfume without bathing him. And lastly he still had the nail clipping residue which if they had bathe the water would have removed the powdery residue from the nails. Point is that the next I showered and there was dirty water running down the shower drain which is definitely proof the they didn't shower him. I love shopping at pet smart but the people at grooming department are a whole bunch of thieves and they need to get their shit together read more
