I took my 4 month old Yorkie for a bath, haircut and trim. They make you book a 3 hour window even if you set an appointment. There are up to 6 dogs and groomers in a small room all at one time. There was hair all over the floor that they put my 6 lb puppy in when she was done that could have had fleas or other parasites. They barely trimmed her face. They did a great job trimming her body and paws and her body smelt good and her hair was so soft. But her head smelt as if it was not washed at all and her nails had not been trimmed. When I pointed this out, they said they could use the Dremel, but it would be loud. I said please do it. They still were super long and made the clacking noise when she walks. I now have to pay double because I have to get another groomer to fix what was not done. The people were very nice, just not trained well. read more

The groomers always do an excellent job with my Bernadoodle ! She comes home happy and clean with a stylish haircut..

Went today to get bath, nail trim, and paid extra for nail grinding. After getting her home, some of her nails looked untouched and most looked barely trimmed and not grounded down. Very disappointed. Will never go back read more

So hard to find a vet in our area that cares for ducks. We went to one a few months back and I wasn't satisfied with the care.So I went on a search for a new one. Someone recommended Dr. Reed at Westchester. Pulling into the parking lot and seeing all of the beautiful mix of waterfowl including ducks like mine put my mind at ease immediately. The girls at the front desk were friendly, especially the one that checked us in. I wish I would have gotten her name to mention here, I will next time. Dr. Reed was awesome with my girl. He was honest, caring, compassionate, gentle and informative. I got the sense immediately that he really cares about all animals, including my duck! I wish I would have found him sooner. And when my dog is due next I will be switching his vet to Westchester also! Thank you Dr. Reed and staff! read more

Associates were super friendly and helpful when I was shopping there. Especially the groomers took very good care of my dog.

Prices are never consistent. I just called and asked to make appointment. Phone rang and rang. The person was rude, said they are always closed on Thursdays which is not true. Wanted to confirm I had the right location and she just gave me the store number as if I would know that. Groomers do a good job but now weekend prices are increasing and this person was so incredibly rude. She needs to go! read more

I will not bring my dog here again. He was completely traumatized after his experience. I've gone to Petsmart in Benton Harbor for months but I recently moved and Michigan City was closer. BIG mistake. He has had nothing but good reviews from any other groomer but this time they told me he was a "bad boy" because he was squirming. I only come here for my dogs nails. But everytime she gets a pawdacure they never clean her ears or spray her or give her bandanas! Its irrating to pay them money and even when my money is tight and not have them do what i pay for. I may be looking for a new place to take my dog. read more

Twice took my dogs to the groomer - big mistake. First time they didn't brush my schnauzer ( his hair was short, so they just forgot, but you could totally see it). Second time I went over my expectations and they assured me that they will do a good job. Well, they didn't do sanitary trim - the one thing I requested multiple times. They also didn't give me the discount they promised. Very disappointed. I am taking my dogs back to finally get that sanitary trim tomorrow. I am not going back for new service and don't recommend that you do. read more

They told me the tank I had picked out were good for snails and I got hit home set it all up and there is a huge gap that the snails can get through if they wanted too. She told me she knew what she was talking about but I don't think she did. Worst part is I have to take the tank back and see them again. I will go to a real pet shop next time. I will never deal with them again. read more

I am giving this place a one star should have a zero star selection they sold me a blue parakeet and they couldn't tell me the sex of the bird or anything if she was a baby or or not I've had her for 12 days she was just getting hand tamed where I could hold her and she died she was so so sweet and happy and it happen out of the blew I will never go back to this location at all I've read reviews that's sell sick animals this place is sickening read more

i was calling them regarding a baby parakeet i am just getting a few more for my flock. one night keeping them apart. well today i let everyone out of the cage guess what great little bird. everyone is getting along fantastic. i know all about the quarantine part but i defy it this is so much fun and austin is a great helper in birds and small reptiles. thank you pet smart. we all are healthy and happy. read more

Will never shop for ANYTHING here again. Bought some sick fish that completely infected and killed everything in my tank. Selection is horrible, made several trips in there for aquarium needs and they were either out of what I needed or didn't carry, or what they did have was some how messed up/ missing parts. read more

I brought my baby Abby in for an appointment on Saturday. I was expecting her to be three hours or so as that's normally what's expected, especially over the weekend. Jayce was Abby's groomer. He was absolutely incredible! Her haircut is PERFECT! He was very professional but super personable at the same time. He made me feel like Abby was in great hands! I got a call about an hour tops after I dropped her off so it was nice to know she was taken care of immediately instead of sitting in a cage for hours. Unfortunately, I couldn't pick her up right away as I was out running an errand but I knew she was in great care so wasn't worried. Anyway, I can't say enough positive things about Jayce. See him if you can! We all love out furry kids and want the best for them and I assure you, Jayce is the best! Side note, he is in Michigan City temporarily while the MC groomer is out. Jayce is out of Merrillville, but..... HE IS WORTH THE DRIVE!!! :) Also, Abby is a yorkie so she got the short yorkie cut. She's super adorable, but that haircut is the icing on the cake! read more

I bought some fish here and once I got them home and in the tank, I could see that they were sick. Shame on me for not inspecting the fish closer at the store, they were small schooling fish so I didn't think anything of it. The three fish I bought, all died but not because of neglect or bad water levels, it's because they were sick. I went to get three replacements to add to my tank of three to make six fish total. When I arrived, it was very obvious that the two tanks with Neon Tetra's were all sick but of course they were more than happy to sell me some more. I pointed out that they had ICK and told them I'm not getting any. On the way out, I briefly chatted with the manager who told me that all of the sick fish were in the back and not out for sale. I told her she's wrong, she needs to take better control of the situation, remedy it asap before the rest of the healthy fish get sick (one filtration system for all the fish so there is massive cross contamination going on) and explained that I bought sick fish from them before and they're all dead and now I'm prophylactically treating my healthy fish because I think I see a white dot. All I got in exchange was a non heart felt, "sorry." I might buy something from here in a pinch but will go back to ordering online with Dr. Fosters. If you're new to fish, do not buy from here because you might be setting yourself up for failure see that they had no qualms sending me home with sick fish (full disclaimer, I should have paid closer attention in the store and accept partial blame!) and were more than happy to try to do it again. Either very stupid or unethical and I'm not down with either. read more

do not use this salon for grooming. i took my dog in on 8/2/2017 and they clipped him to close under left side jaw line causing 2 open wounds. then never ssaid a word to me. i found it after getting home. they continually deny doing it yet he had barely any hair on that side and they refunded the money. if nothing happened why the refund? from now on i will use precious paws here in michigan city. read more

Had a dog training session set for 10am on a Sunday. Another owner needed to push the start time back and I sat in there for 15 minutes before I was even told. No apology, nothing. Apparently, appointments don't mean anything anymore. I'll be asking for a refund and never returning. Who runs a business like that? read more
