Haley did an excellent job grooming my 7 month old dog who had never been groomed before.read more

Pet Supplies Plus, Beckley, WV…read more NEVER GO HERE IF YOU ARE DISABLED I was training my service dog on January 29th at 3pm. We were sitting by the register and my girl was on her placement blanket. She only got up 2-3 times which I corrected her and she settled again. The employees were sooo nice and even came to say hi to her, it wasn't an issue. Then all the sudden the manager, Bev, approached me 30-45 minutes after arriving and said if I can't keep my dog on a leash, I would have to leave that's their policy. Other people with service dogs were sticking up for me and were disappointed in her behavior. She can legally asked for me to put her on a leash. This is precisely what happens if I pass out; I may trap her and she cannot do what she needs to do to keep my safe. She's usually always on a leash and I always have it in my hand but due to just exposure training I couldn't reach it. It doesn't matter what your policy is, even if it's a private business; if you serve the public, you have to abide by the ADA. IT IS FEDERAL LAW. your policy isn't over the federal law. The ADA states the dog has to be on a leash, with the exception of a leash getting in the way of the dog doing tasks for your disability. When I got to the car, I just sobbed and began to have a panic attack. I called the legal line and they were disgusted by what happened. I had to call them at least 10 different times and persist until they called me back. The district manager stated that it's their policy that a dog has to be on a leash. However, that applies to any other animal, but this is a service animal. If I pass out, she cannot do her job if a leash is trapped beneath me. Remind you she's always on a leash but if I feel weird I drop it. in this instance she was on the ground on her placement mat and I didn't have the leash in my hand as I couldn't reach it. SHE WAS STILL ON A LEASH I just didn't have it in my hand‍ I understand not wanting dogs off leash in a store with people as people can get bit but she is a service animal. She is a working dog for multiple disabilities. While I was in there there was a very kind blind woman with a blind stick, if I had a leash and she walked between us, she could've fallen and gotten hurt. another reason why short leads are so much easier and the dog is still leashed. Clearly, they don't care about the possible lawsuit or the business they may lose. This is utterly disgusting behavior. In addition to this, the store is extremely dirty and is constantly stained with dog urine on the floor. It smells intensely like parvo diarrhea every single time I'm there. There are dogs lunging and barking every single time. The manager, Bev, never says anything to them, but when my service dog is in there quietly sitting, it's an issue. Never, ever, ever come here if you're disabled.

I called on a Tuesday, they were able to work my 2 male dogs in for a Friday after my usual…read moreboarding had let me down in a clench. My neighbors had boarded their dog here before and said they were satisfied with the service. Called Friday and got directions. Directions were good. Facility seemed clean. I didn't see in back except for a glimpse, kind of reminded me of the animal shelter cages. On the opposite side I had noted that there are outside runs. Had been told on phone it was $18 a piece for dogs (no difference that I have 1 dog over 100 pounds, second one is 50 pound pit mix). Other charges would be "explained" when I got there. Was told $20 extra for bath, which is a pretty good deal. I said if they could bathe the pit, great, worried my Great Pyrenees would get away. He's strong, can leap fences and he's a runner. Would be $5 per day each for a "nature walk". Well, they are supposed to be let outside 2 times a day anyway and, again, afraid bigger dog would get away. $3 a piece per day for them to play in the high fenced "atrium" for about 1/2 hour. I o.k.'d this. Kennels are open until 4:30 Sundays, 5:30 rest of week. I told them that I would pick them up on Monday as I doubted I would be able to make it back into town before 4:30 Sunday. Picked up my boys before closing Monday. Bill $199.80. Not itemized in any way. Seemed high for 3 nights, even including above, given their quotes. Staff seemed distracted and had even started filling out intake paperwork on the third dog I had brought with me when I came to pick up the boys instead of immediately bringing out the male dogs. Dogs appeared well taken care of though. My pit mix was clearly clean. Staff seem genuinely fond of the dogs. So I feel that they got good care and would use Shamrock Stables again and recommend them. However; it bears noting that they charge (I was figuring my own bill and checked the back of the slip that they GIVE you AFTER you sign) for the day that you drop them off and the night that you pick them up (even though they close at 5:30 p.m.) Now, if this were explained, that would be better. If this were a PARTIAL charge, it would be fair, especially as 5:30 p.m. is really an EARLY time to close then charge you for the UPCOMING NIGHT. In fact, had I picked them up at 12 noon they would STILL HAVE CHARGED ME FOR THE UPCOMING NIGHT. WHICH IS SHEER GREED. SO, I HAD DOGS WHO STAYED FOR 75 HOURS AND I GET CHARGED FOR 96 HOURS.THUS 4 STARS WHERE I WOULD HAVE GIVEN 5 STARS FOR A LITTLE LESS GREED. But, the staff was great, greed is on the owner.

I dropped my dogs off on Friday evening, along with a tote bag of their food bowls, pre-portioned…read moreand labeled bags of food, and two blankets. The woman at the front desk was very friendly and made me feel at ease. The facility smelled as good as boarding facility can, and seemed clean. She took down my food instructions (since I had brought my own food and requested that they were fed what I brought), and she wrote a description of my blankets. She told me that they wash the blankets, so the description would help them go back to the correct dog when they come out of the dryer. She asked if my dogs had any allergies, etc. Sounds awesome, right? I returned to pick up my dogs on Tuesday mid-morning. I was charged appropriately, $18 per dog, per day, plus tax. Here's where I ran into problems...when the blankets were handed back to me, they were so dirty that I had to put them in a trash bag just to get them into my car. There is no way they had been washed. As a result of not having blankets clean enough to lay on my car seats, I now need my car's interior cleaned from the dirt on my dogs paws. I guess that's my lesson in not bringing extra blankets. I won't make that mistake again. I didn't even bring that to the staff's attention, because I had a bigger issue. I had sent my own food for a reason. My dachshund has thyroid issues that make her overweight. She is on a calorie-counted diet. When I opened the bag I sent with them, only ONE portion of food for each dog was missing. So I thought either my dogs didn't get fed for 4 of the 5 days, or they fed them something else. I immediately called and asked what had happened, and received a return call a short time later from the owner. He said that the person in charge of my dogs for the weekend had difficulty getting them to eat their food the first night. So they looked at their info card, saw no allergies, and took it upon themselves to feed my dogs the kennel's food. The owner said that they have a procedure for this, if a dog won't eat, the staff member is to call the owner for advice, and then call the customer and ASK PERMISSION to feed the dogs something else. No one called me for permission. No one called me at all. The owner said that this will prompt a staff meeting about policy. That's fine and dandy, but does nothing for my frustration at paying almost $200 for my instructions to be ignored completely. The owner seemed sincere in his apology, and I would give this place ONE MORE CHANCE, based pretty much only on convenience of location. If they failed again, though, there is no way for a third try.
