Dog crap and piss (semi dried up) in the store. Do better. I get that dogs can have accidents and if you are a person with your dog in the store, you should either clean up after your pet or alert someone that works there that it happened. Employees need to pay attention to their surroundings and take pride in their store. Like I said do better. read more

I've had my dog groomed here twice and both times the staff have been professional, kind, and more than willing to answer questions with Very clear communication. I have a SD (Service Dog) and it's a big deal to leave her with other people for extended periods of time and walk away, but Ashley S who groomed her on December 17, 2023 was amazing at reassuring me and Bella. Bella has a double-undercoat and weighs almost 50lbs. I had her deshed, nails clipped and ground, paw pads shaved, trimmed & styled, shampooed, ears cleaned, and teeth cleaned. It cost $115 (I paid extra for a coupon book they were offering). The only reason I give this location 4 stars is because the main store has too many puddles of pee everywhere every time we go into the store. read more

I've taken my dog here for grooming several times over the past few years and it's been hit or miss with the groomers. mostly they do a solid job, sometimes a great job, one groomer was really bad with my dog. I just got home from having my lab mix (at 80 pounds he's a big boy and sheds like CRaZY) get a bath and brush with the furminator from a groomer my dog has never had, Lucas M. Lucas M did a fantastic job!!! I don't think anyone has ever brushed my dog out as well as he did! Barely any hair coming off even with a brush at home! And his nails were ground down perfectly! They were shorter and more rounded off than the vet has ever gotten them and my dog hates getting his nails done! I'll definitely be back now! My last experience before this was very negative, but this helped a lot! read more

I brought my large puppy in to have the Furminator treatment. I called and set up the appointment and didn't ask for a price (this was my error)... I had him "groomed" they literally bathed and brushed him and clipped his nails.... no cutting or trimming (other than the nails). I get the bull and it was $90 something dollars- it was an extra $16 for special shampoo (that I didn't ask for)- I'm sorry but the amount of shampoo you use would not equal $16 when u can buy the entire bottle of de-shedding shampoo for less than that. While the staff was friendly I was honestly shocked when I got the bill. I didn't say anything to the cashier because I knew it would get me nowhere. I will NEVER have my dog groomed here again- if it costs almost $100 to have him shampooed, brushed and his nails clipped I can't image the cost for an actual cut! read more

I needed cat litter and supplies on a rainy Monday afternoon. Staff was great, many pets coming and going. Everything was nicely stocked. They have a Banfield pet hospital at this location as well. If you're a rewards member you can get really great buys off their snacks. They carry Ellen Degeneres apparel, really cute. Despite a few issues over the years (like when they half shaved my cat then refused a discount) I have consistently taken my animals to this Pet Smart for grooming. Within 20 minutes of dropping our dog off today, we received a call and were told they can't groom him because he's too old. My dog is an 11 year old Scottish Terrier with no physical ailments. Apparently he was nervous and when urinating they noticed some blood. I was told he needed to be groomed by a vet (not something I've ever heard of). Service was still refused even after I clarified that he had a recent clean bill of health. I will never waste my time with this company again. read more

The grooming customer service is awful! We had an appointment at 1600 (4 PM) today and at 1625 (real-time) we had yet to be acknowledged by anyone. We have a highly anxious husky. This is absolutely ridiculous, we made an appointment and followed all the stupid "stringent" protocols and called 3 times and spoke to the team lead of the grooming section to let them know we were here and not seen. My dog does not do well in new situations and is still a puppy so keeping her quiet and occupied while waiting on slow grooming staff proved to be difficult. We just waked out. So much for Pet "inspiration" when their entire business is about the health and wellness of pets but they show they don't care about mine. read more

I absolutely love Chris at the Okemos Petsmart grooming salon! I have a little pug, Nell, and she always gets so excited to see him! He even gave her a cute little bow this time and writes the sweetest stuff in her booklet. As I was walking to the back of the store to pick her up, I noticed he was helping another customer and holding her at the same time, it was so cute! He kept her with him even though I was a few minutes late and he had people to help! Nell loves going there, so he must be doing something right. My sister runs a grooming salon, but we still go and see him because she loves it so much more, tip Chris well if you're lucky enough to get him, it's worth it! read more

Marion has to be one of the nicest employees I've ever met. Starting the journey of puppy parenthood with a small child is so difficult and she has begun giving us the tools to teach our little rescue how to thrive. She seems incredibly dedicated to her job, and she tried to show our son how to avoid getting nipped by our littlest family member. The store looks the same size/smaller than most PetSmart stores on the outside but it seemed bigger on the inside. It also seemed more organized than most. They had a large selection of everything and upon even entering our dog was showered with love and attention by multiple employees. Definitely a wonderful example of a big box with small business values! read more

My dog was very arthritic and I wanted to have her groomed. I explained to the groomer when I made the appointment the situation and she said it would not be a problem. The groomer watched us walk all the way from the front of the store to the back, where the groomers work. She then told me (after making my dog walk all that way) that she would not bathe my dog because she was too arthritic. I did not understate my dog's situation when I called. The groomer did not even apologize. I will never use their grooming services again. The groomer at Lake Lansing Animal Hospital bathed my dog with no problem. read more

I have cats...And mainly I observe cat and dog supplies here...An amazing collection of foods, from economy to high end and prescription. Many supplies from toys to bedding and more. A grooming facility. A satellite veterinary clinic with limited services. A couteous staff that range from helpful to very knowledgeable. They do entertain a good system of customer loyalty discounts and specials. They also do a good job of animal adoption events for the Humane Society. Will shop here regularly. read more

The lines at the cash register move SOOOOO SLOW. Came at 6:55 on Sunday November 15, they close at 7. Doors were already locked. I've always gotten my dog at Petsmart, but the two experiences I've had at this location have been awful. Both times they had my dog for over 8 hours in a cage before they even touched him. Then, they charged me double what I signed for in the beginning. When I brought up this discrepancy, the groomer said she didn't do the extra charges on the bill, and she wasn't sure why they were there. However, they didn't take off the charge. When I talked to the manager to the grooming salon she was rude, and refused to change the bill. Never will go back. Also, my dog looked awful. What's the point of the grooming then? read more

I've been using this particular pet smart for 5+ years for all my pet needs from my Dog, Fish, Cats, and even lizards. Very rarely have I had a need that Petsmart of Okemos couldn't handle. The fish department always seems to have very knowledgeable employees. The Groomers are by far my favorite part of the place. They've always taken great care of my dog, even now as she is older and is beginning to have hip problems. They're so gentle with her and she comes out clean and smelling great with a cute little bandana in a timely manner, everytime! read more

Took my two dogs in for grooming Saturday, January 19, 2018. Let me just say, they smelled worse when leaving then when we arrived. After waiting over four hours for the grooming to be completed I would expect them to smell good for a month! The inside of my dogs ears was still dirty, matted, and the outside was greasy. The cut on my dogs face and ears was uneven, with one extremely long piece hanging off one ear. They also said that their nails did not need to be cut. I find this hard to believe and will be taking them for another grooming somewhere else. I paid $128 for this service and when I complained of my disappointment was offered a $20 e-certificate. Well, guess what, that will not pay for the additional grooming needed after visiting PetSmart in Okemos, MI. read more

I have a groomer that i have gone to for a few years now and she does both of my doggies. Personally she has been the reason I go there as she is great and we have created a good business friendship from all the of time I go there. However as to trying to contact her with a note or getting the store to provide a contact other then one of their other groomers taking a note is impossible. Not happy with their system at all. As of this writing I have now left two messages and the best they can do is have her call me by next Monday. Made an appointment to get an 18 pound dog bathed only. Said it would take an hour and a half. I get there and the place is a zoo. They told me it would be 3 hours! No grooming, no nails....how long does it take give a dog a bath? They told me they did it as they could fit it in. Why should I leave my dog in a crate with them for hours while they fit her in? You are pretty much on your own here. It is an impersonal warehouse shopping experience with minimal staff. When asking for help finding a product to address my dog's skin problem I was told "maybe go look on isle 27...if we have anything like that in stock." Surprisingly, Petsmart gives online shoppers detailed product and local stock availability info but local store employees have no such info. At least that was the response I got from the clerk I dealt with. Clerks here are prepared to give general directions but this is not a place to go when you are seeking advice. So, not much separating this store from Amazon (except at least at Amazon you can read customer reviews). In contrast, I found the staff at the nearby Soldan's Pet Supply to be very knowledgeable about animal needs and the effectiveness of selected products. The cashier offered specific recommendations and had those products in stock. I would much rather support locally-owned stores. read more

Went to PetSmart today for the first time for a emergency grooming appointment. Wow, was I impressed. Kelsey K. was our groomer and she did a GREAT job for an amazing price of only $16. Sarah E. checked us out and she was pleasant and sweet. We hung around the grooming department for an hour watching the groomers work and each of them was kind and sweet with the animals they were working with. I saw lots of high pitched doggie talk going on between groomer and pets and many pats and even a kiss to the animal clients from their human groomers. We have already scheduled our return grooming appointment with Kelsey and wanted to write a great review for a store we discovered for the first time today. read more

I took my long haired chihuahua here for a bath and haircut. He was scruffy and I was excited to get him cleaned up. The lady who was at the front desk when we took him in did not seem very friendly or very interested in what I was telling her I wanted for my dog. I showed her a picture of his last haircut and told her I wanted him to look like that and she briefly glanced at it but didn't seem too interested. I specified I did not want his fur too short, just a little trim and cleaning up since he was clearly so scruffy. When we picked him up, he came out and I was shocked. It looked as though as a 3 year old took scissors and cut my dogs hair in random places. His fur looks so choppy and unblended and it just is not a good cut. Does not look like a professional experienced person did it. And she cut off his ear fur which is something I did not want. I told the lady who groomed his hair, Tiffany, that I didn't want his ear fur cut and she stated that the other lady who I showed the picture to thought his ear fur was short in the picture. She must be blind. Maybe if she cared more to do her job and actually looked at the pic I showed her for more than two seconds, she would have noticed that his ear fur CLEARLY was not short in the picture. For what we paid, we should have gotten a professional haircut for our dog but like I said, a 3 year old could have done the same thing. The mix up with the ear fur was not the groomers fault, however the bad haircut was and I suggest nobody else take their pet to get groomed by her. read more
