At first I really didnt care for this petsmart because i did not like the grooming salon. However, we recently got a new dog and wanted to bring her to doggy training. it changed my whole perspective. although i probably wont use their salon (i found a new one) i am thrilled to say that Chi has come so far in the beginner training, that we signed her up for intermediate as well. The trainer, Emma D is OUTSTANDING. she takes time to personalize every dogs training there and answered all of our questions and more. Thanks so much!! read more

I love PetSmart, I love to spoil my fur baby w/ the selection they have for toys, treats& necessities. I bought him the 12 days of gifts for the holidays. And it also included coupons for Pet-smart. One in particular was for "grooming& trim". (Which I should've looked at the reviews before I went to this location) We love our regular groomers, they're always so nice& always talk best of him. But we thought, "hey, Pet-smart". We came here, worst experience possible. They didn't do anything we had selected from a trim, to nail clipping, and the overall bathe. They said they couldn't do much because of his "puppy behavior". I'm sorry, but this just wasn't it. read more

This PetSmart... I only go since it is on the way home from work. The PetSmart is by a now defunct Bed, Bath and Beyond. The selection is just so-so. When one is ready to leave and check out, there are never adequate cashiers. I was there yesterday, and the line was nine customers deep. Not one employee came to help the poor chap! Not only that, then the one cashier was in a rather pissy mood. I requested a price check on something that was for sure on clearance, and he argued with me and was rude about it. He was rather snappy - well the register says it's $1.47!! He did not even bother requesting a price check. Any other store, one could request a price check. The parking lot does have a cart corral, which some PetSmarts do not have. This is fairly new, as about two years ago, this location did not have this. read more

I'm a regular Petsmart shopper. I have a picky cat. As long as I bring home the Petsmart brand litter, it will all stay in the box if ya know what I mean. If I bring home something else - NOTHING goes in the box if you get my drift. I figure that it isn't a bad deal to make. I happened to be in the area when it was litter time, so I stopped at this location. It's the same brand everywhere so there's no difference in product. I just didn't get good vibes from this location in a hard to put my finger on kind of way. Things looked a bit less organized, but not by a ton. Things looked a bit dirty, not that I expect a pet store to pass a white glove test or anything, but more than what I might expect. And maybe this is just a smaller store, but I was surprised the small selection of several things. When I finally found an employee to ask a question, well, let's say that didn't go well. I'm used to Petsmart folks being super helpful, so his, "Yea, I think we might get some this week, but we might not" attitude wasn't exactly refreshing. So, while this location may keep my carpet safe, I'll try to keep my dollars going to one of the better all around stores in the future. read more

Sammy and her human was here earlier this morning and they haven't been here in a while. It seemed like all employees are new and from the moment Sammy and her human walked in the store, they were greeted with kindness from the employees and the manager was also very nice. A gentleman named Jeremy, stopped what he was doing and helped Queen Sammy select the perfect harness for her human companion to use while walking Sammy, and to help make the walk more pleasant for Sammy and her human. Sammy left the store really happy with treats and a beautiful harness. They were both very pleased with the excellent customer service provided for Queen Sammy and her human. read more

This is the Petsmart I like to go to for just about everything my dogs and cats could need. However, This is at least the second time I've gone and ran into KJ, a girl who does not seem to enjoy her job whatso ever and finds that she needs to tell me (whom she doesn't know) every time I check out that she just wants to go home and that she has worked 8 long hours there. She is always complaining about her job and talking nonsense. She makes the end of my shopping very negative and unprofessional. I don't like being complained to about a beautiful store with animals in it that she doesn't want to be working there or that she isn't grateful to be making a difference for those animals. She should count her blessings because the animals in the back cages can't. Im really disturbed by her doing this every single time. It makes me wonder how many other people she's complained to at that store if this is the second time she has randomly done that to me. She mumbles under her breath very weird things and it seems like she is in her own world completely unaware of anything outside of herself. Petsmart is not a place for that. read more

5 stars for Libby's service! Went to get my puppies first groom yesterday, and I was so happy I set an appointment with Libby. She was so sweet and loving towards my Lexy. My 2 pound ShiPoo! (Of course everybody loves puppies) but you can tell when a person really cares for them! Not only did Lexy come out looking super cute she came out happy and giving Libby kisses. Seeing a lot of bad reviews and maybe I just went in a good day? I called on Friday for a hair cut for my long haired chihuahua. This was mine and hers first haircut so we were both probably equally as nervous. I ended up getting an appointment at the end of the day. When I arrived I was greeted by Kimberly and one more wonderful groomer (younger female with a LOT of hair). They were both so attentive to what we wanted. I was told "3-4 hours" as a precaution which in reality was only about 2 hours maybe? I came back to my doggy looking SO FRESH AND SO CLEAN. I almost told them they brought me the wrong dog! My girl was and has been in such a good mood and I thought the price for all they did was EASILY worth it. She was also given multiple treats by the cashier as well. No complaints, every associate I ran into gave me the time of day and at least said Hi. Would easily recommend and/or return!! read more

I got my dog Maybir a bath n brush with the furminator add on at Petsmart ... she is 28lbs, the sweetest most lovable dog. I can't believe that I just paid $59 for her groom. My take from this: petsmart needs to reevaluate how they charge owners. I got average service, a service I could have done for less, and usually do my self. I even talked to the cashier about it, and she referred me to a mom and pop shop, saying I was overcharged!!! read more

I had an appointment for my dog at this location near metro center, and the staff at the grooming salon was terrible. I can't believe these people. First off the young girl- who by the way looked like she had no idea what she was doing, she walked up to my dog and automatically tried to put her hands on him without letting him get used to her or smelling her- like any dog would do. My dog simply barked at her out of discomfort, and they said quote on quote "we can't take him he just tried to attack her." I'm sorry, but when was barking considered "attacking?" This is a joke I can't believe it. My dog has NEVER shown signs of aggression or violence so for some little girl to assume that is beyond me. Terrible service! read more

I LOOOOOOOVE the staff at the Metro Center Petsmart!!! Especially Kayla in Grooming!!!!! She realllllly loves my dog, takes great care of him, is always happy to see him and does such a great job with him! And Ladmo loves his special girlfriend! When we tell him he is going to go see his grooming girlfriend he gets all sorts of excited! I use to go to the Petsmart on 59th and Northern but when I was disconnected by the grooming department more than once I decided to try another one. If you can't answer the phone, why would I trust you will my dog! The staff at this location was amazing. Even though, I thought, 2 hours was a long time for a regular bath and brush with some nail grinding...he got exactly what I asked for. His paw-gress report (get it) had little paw prints to show how he did and they scheduled me again for 6 weeks. I will definitely go back, hopefully 2 hours won't be the norm, especially around dinner time....Axel came home starving. read more

I go to this PetSmart to buy toys, dog food, and dog treats. It is very clean and the employees are plentiful. They always ask if you need help with anything, which I usually never do because I always know what I am looking for. The entire store is clean, well-stocked, and easy to maneuver. My dog has short hair so the only grooming services she has ever had is the nail trim and file. She is freaked out about it but the groomers are nice and prompt. They take good care of her and they are very polite. PetSmart price matched Petco's online pricing for their food which I am very pleased about. The only negative comment I have to make is that the lines are long but that is understandable considering there was only 1 cashier at the front and only two registers. PetSmart should have a second person come up when the line gets long. I will be returning to PetSmart for their price matching and availability of items. read more

The store is well lit, clean, and always well-stocked. The staff is friendly and I am greeted every time I enter even if the cashiers are ringing people up. I had an issue recently where I was double-charged for grooming and the manager Wayne was helpful in getting it resolved. It's a well run store. read more

This pets mart is by far the worst one out of all their locations . Let me start off by saying that the staff is very rude and not helpful that all . I come to this pace because it so close to work. I took my dog there for a full bath and groom . They charged me $65 for a horrible job that they did on my dog . Not only did they couldn't do the hair cut right but they made him bleed on his back. When I mention it to the tech they try to blame their mistakes on my dog. This place is awful. Do not go there they don't know what they are doing. read more

I have been going to this location for my kitty's needs for some time. I don't usually have an opinion about this store one way or the other. It's close to work and I can run in, buy the items I always get, swing by the cute kitties up for adoption and get out of there quick. Not today. Today I have a definite opinion. I was the next person in line behind a women making a return. Apparently the cashier did not have the authority to help her so he called a manager on the speaker. No manager. This did not seem to bother the customer or the cashier since apparently they had nothing better to do than to chat anyway. After a few minutes a manager happened to stroll by. Then he got involved in the conversation, while they asked for name, phone number, address, e-mail, reason for return, mother's maiden name (okay, not that last one, but you get the picture). Not once while this whole thing went on and on was I acknowledged by either the cashier or manager. Not once did they think to call someone else over to check me out. Not once did they apologize for taking so long. And no one even bothered to notice when I dropped my kitty food on the counter and walked out the door. read more

Today I have officially had it with petsmart and their customer service. I had bought a top fin canister filter 62 days ago that was recommended to me by the manger of this store. Last night the motor went out and I came in today to just have it exchanged. I was told by the manager that she does not believe that I actually bought it from them even after showing her the proof. She then told me that it had been over 60 days and won't exchange it. I then came home and called the corporate office and was told by them that since the filter is their brand that the 60 day policy does not count. So I called the store back to speak with the general manager and was told by him that corporate is wrong and they will not exchange the filter period. My fish now don't have a filter and the people that work at petsmart don't care because it's not their problem. I will be sure to never use them again. I was shocked by the way the manager in the store spoke to me, calling me a liar ect. she should not work in customer service. read more

My sister in law & I came here to adopt a cat & we were told by an employee with glasses and long brown hair in a ponytail that they "didn't have time" to do the adoption despite the fact that they don't close for thirty more minutes. We had already inquired about adopting prior to running home for more cash since they told us they don't accept anything other than cash for adoption, which took about 5 minutes. read more

This location is closest to my house, so I pretty much have to go here, at least to save gas. Every time I come in, I am greeted, which is nice and welcoming. I go here for the crickets since I have reptiles and let me tell you, it always takes awhile. So the last time I came here, the employee was in a bad mood and didn't write down the code for the crickets, or how many. When I walked up to the register, the cashier didn't greet me, instead just gave me a shrug. I don't know what he was asking or doing since he didn't even say a word to me. So I finally said "uhm, it's 25 crickets if you need to know, I don't know the code for them". Then he proceeds to scan something and then I pay and walk out. He didn't ask me if I needed a bag or even a "Have a nice day!" I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm a quiet person, but throw me a bone here! Now today, I came here, and it took me about 30 minutes because of bad traffic, so I was a bit irritated and just wanted to go home. I walk to the cricket area and there's no one there. I proceed to wait because usually they walk out of the office door because there is a window and help me. Today I waited for about 15 minutes and then a family comes up looking at fish. The man asked me if I've been waiting and I said yes. He walks to the front to get someone and then comes back with an employee and the employee helps the family first! So now I'm waiting an extra 20 minutes just to get 25 crickets, which takes about 5 minutes to get! The employee finally comes up and apologizes, and helps me and gives me extra crickets. In the end, I got home about an hour and a half later and usually it takes me half an hour. If I were you I wouldn't go here unless you really needed to, and you know where everything is at, because the employees won't help you. If you're getting dog food, then you're okay! If you're getting fish or crickets, don't bother. read more

Sadly half the fish were dead floating or stuck to the filter ) : I asked the young man what was going on and he had no clue.I asked if he had checked the water and he had no clue.The lady who use to be in charge of the fish department was always on top of it and the fish were healthy.I wont be going back ! read more

My dog has fine hair that naturally tangles and, despite the daily brush, gets slightly matted at times in a couple of spots; when I say slightly, I mean it: I can fix it with a comb in just a few minutes. It used to be no problem when we lived in another state, where I would take her to a Petsmart salon and she would come out with a nice cut. Here, at this location, they don't bother brushing her and insist on shaving her every single time, plus they charge extra for having to deal with matted hair. It feels as if they look for the easiest way to deal with her rather than give full attention. Must off to find a more dedicated groomer. read more

I have a fractured tailbone. Per my doctor I am not suppose to lift heavy things or bend over that often because it creates pain. I decided to schedule a grooming appointment for my 5 month old puppy (about 40lbs) to avoid bending over to wash her. She was there for 2.5 hrs. I arrived at 12pm (2 hrs after dropping her off) like they said & waited an additional 30 minutes. When I arrived they quickly pulled her from the back room and very quickly & recklessly filed her nails. Then the groomers literally brushed her fur in 3 strokes with a Slicker Brush (not enough as she is a golden..). Another Petmart customer that witnessed this came up to me & said "She did a poor job brushing your golden." To top it off they sprayed a mist on her to dilute her stench- which lasted for about 30 minutes (the drive home). I had paid for the groomers to wash, file her nails, clean her ears & teeth. The groomers did NOT wash her, brush her fur, and did not clean her ears. I am uncertain if they brushed her teeth but I would have to believe they did not since they were in a rush to get her out the door & I had witnessed along with other fellow Petsmart customers the groomers the half-ass services paid for. I basically paid the groomers to babysit my puppy for 2.5 hrs per there request. My puppy did not need to be there for those 2 hrs they requested as they jammed all the services requested by me within 30 minutes. Since my tailbone is fractured I avoided bathing my puppy until roughly 36 hrs after her visit to Petsmart Groomers. I could not stand her stench. She is an inside dog & only goes outside to use the restroom therefore there is no way she would be that dirty if Petsmart actually washed her. I showered with her & the water turned BLACK. Which proved they did not wash her. It was disgusting how much dirt came off her. I took photos & called for the Petsmart Groomers Manager. The girl who answered the phones response was "Oh she's out until tomorrow. My managers a very busy person so I don't know if she'll be able to call you back. So yeah". She took my name & phone number. I am very dissatisfied with Petsmarts Grooming services & are now considering taking my business elsewhere for all services read more

The grooming salon is fantastic. Make sure you specify what you would like your pooch to look like. Kara does and exceptional job! Also Banfield Pet hospital does a great job, watch out for unnecessary medical costs and up selling. Veterinarian (Foster) does an exceptional job and truly cares about your animal and you as an owner. read more

I took my 2 dogs to the grooming center for the first time last week. Libby was our groomer on 1/21/2015. I called to ask about how they might handle a new adopted dog from the dog pound, he is shy and I didn't want to stress him out. She was welcoming on the phone and in person. When we arrived she greeted both dogs down on their level and spent extra time with the new dog reassuring him. I broke down in tears leaving them in a new place, and Libby was extremely understanding, offering to call me if there were any problems and to only do what he was comfortable with. I can't say enough good things about my first time at PetSmart for grooming. The retail store is nice too with very helpful employees. read more

Well, what can you say? It's PetsMart. That means corporate interest above animal welfare... This particular PetsMart is no exception. We drove 45 minutes across town to adopt a kitten. We called the sponsoring shelter ahead of time to confirm we could adopt the same day and take her home. However when we got to this PetsMart, the assistant manager (some kid named "Jeff") said he couldn't take staff off the cash registers or the floor to complete the adoption (despite the fact that 2 employees were out front on smoke breaks and at least 4 others were roaming the floors aimlessly, and 2 employees were standing around, carrying on a conversation with each other within earshot. Soo... When I brought this to Jeff's attention, he couldn't care less, citing his own staffing problems, employees out sick, not enough time, working late hours, etc., etc. -- he clearly couldn't empathize with customers or the fact that we drove 45 minutes, previously spoken with the shelter, had already been approved to adopt, etc. Do I blame Jeff? No. He's typical PetsMart management material: self-absorbed, self-centered, unsympathetic, and callous. I predict a long, long "career" for him within the Petsmart managerial class. He fits the mold perfectly. That being said, I only go to Petsmart when absolutely necessary because of people like Jeff. Suffice to say, Petsmart will not be changing their policies or philosophies anytime soon. They are to pets what McDonald's is to fast food -- and unfortunately their management comes from the same gene pool. read more

I went there looking for a cat condo there was 4 of them there with a tag priced for 41.99. I picked it up and carried it to the register it ringed up 169.99 the girl that was at register was new called a female manager over there and I showed her the price she to start reading all tags and boxes to make sure there in the right spot and when I tried to take pic she moved in the way and started to move the tags around. I called ordinary corporate twice and never got a call back like they said they would even the main store manager wouldn't call back I rather start going to PETCO for now on this is the 3 store I've had issues with stay away from petsmart if you want to get screwed read more

We have taken our dog here multiple times to be groomed and each time they haven't clipped her nails, yet still charged us full price! Not very impressed with the staff as other parts of her grooming were marked complete and clearly were not done. Don't waste your money here. read more
