But really zero stars. I was bringing my dog here for the last 5 years and they could not do him this time because he was stressed? I have never heard of a thing in my life. Most dogs are not cool, calm, and collected going to the groomers. They called me back to get him because "his stomach is bloated." He just had to go to the bathroom....I'm not sure what kind of training groomers get. But previous groomers who have groomed my dog have never made these complaints, and my dog has always been a stressed out and anxious one. I brought my dog to PetSmart to be groomed on June 8th and I got home and she seemed uncomfortable. She has cuts all in her ears and a cut on her belly. The groomer didn't tell me about any of this. I'm really unhappy. These pics are from days later. It's healing but she's been shaking her head in discomfort. Now I don't think I'll be able to trust PetSmart to groom my dog. GROOMING REVIEW. I used to take my dog here for years and never had any issues. Today I dropped my dog off aware that he was extremely matted and brought it to the groomers attention, whose name was Stella. She said she would need 5 hours with him. I go to pick my dog up and he is completely bald, which I was not surprised because as I said I was aware of the Mats on him; HOWEVER, not only did they charge me extra for some "holiday fee", Stella the groomer also charged me extra for a "de-matting" fee. She spent 5 hours with my dog and shaved him completely bald, THERE WAS NO DE-MATTING DONE. On top of that she never shaved his genital area which is the one area I would have liked to be shaved. Over $100 later with a very upset dog, I am beside myself. Do not get groomed here and do not go to Stella. read more

GROOMER REVIEW: My dog (and I) had an amazing experience getting groomed here by Toni. I adopted my pup Georgie two weeks ago from a rescue in Texas, and was worried that the grooming experience was too soon and might be traumatic for her, but she was scraggly and badly needed the groom, and Toni put my mind at ease right away. It was clear that Toni loves dogs, and the way that she handled and spoke to Georgie was exactly what I wanted. I had been planning to stick around and watch through the window just in case Georgie had a meltdown, but I felt really confident that Toni would take good care of her, and so I left to run some errands. Toni finished in less than the allotted 3 hours and called to let me know. When I picked Georgie up, she looked great, she smelled great, and seemed happy. She kept jumping up to give Toni kisses which was reassuring. I happily made her next appointment before leaving. I can't speak to the other groomers here but I can say that I observed them a bit while I was checking in and out, and they seemed as gentle and caring with the dogs they were grooming as I know Toni was with mine. If you're looking for a groomer I recommend giving the grooming salon here a try. As far as I'm concerned, I will always bring Georgie to Toni for grooming. read more

I want to let you know that I am extremely upset and heartbroken. I adopted a cat from you on May 15. Apparently he had cardiac issues and was born with a virus. We had to put hi to sleep yesterday. I think it is disgusting that you don't fully examine the animals that you let people adopt, let them get close and fall in love with them, only to find out that you gave them a sickly animal. My dog is a young male, 2 years old, they said he was perfect. He had long nails and was starting to get his winter coat, they got them down as short as they could, and he no longer has tuffs of winter fur on his hind legs. The grooming services here are terrible. They cut my dogs leg and didn't say anything about or discount any amount from the bill. The worst part is it immediately became infected and even though they knew they had caused it did not matter to them. When we went back to see the Vet they told us that they couldn't do anything about it without getting blood work done first. This also happened to 2 friends of mine that went to the groomers here! I probably would've counted it as a one off with a new groomer (and not written anything) if I hadn't seen it happen to two of my friends' dogs. Felt like people should know. Awful to the nth degree. I'm so appalled by this place that I'm leaving my first Yelp review in years. One of the groomers here, Gina, cut my dog's ears so short that they're nearly down to the flesh; she had beautiful, soft curly hair that absolutely did not need to be touched, and now her ears look like a clumsily cut blunt bob. There was NO reason to do this. She's a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel--ears are pretty much their calling card--and eight years old, and there's no excuse for a lopsided, sloppy puppy cut. Stopped in today the small animal cages were filthy AGAIN and to my horror they also didn't have WATER!!!!! The rats were all sleeping but they also had no food. The guinea pigs 3 baby females had no dry food, very little hay that they were eating bedding. As soon as I saw this I went right to an associate her response was "oh ok" then told another associate who went and took the bottles but as long as I was there didn't returned. After I stepped out of the store I called corporate and made a complaint. Went to the DANVERS location literally night and day. This is my go-to spot for my kitty needs. The employees have always been a great help when I needed it, and they offer a wide variety of cat food to feed both my domestic house cat as well as my baby bengal cat. I purchased a tower for my cats to play on and they use it every day without fail, along with a few cat nips toys that were on sale too. I wish the prescription food wasn't so expensive, since the quality isn't anything better than regular dog food, but I'm not sure if there's much they can do about that. Grooming Services - 2 stars I took our dog in for her first nail clipping this weekend. Upon walking in I was treated as an inconvenience. I didn't have an appointment, but I had called earlier in the day and was told no appointment was necessary for a nail clipping because it's so quick. The gal helping me struggled with how scared my dog was. While she was quick at cutting the nails, she was not pleased with the way my dog struggled. I was disappointed that she wasn't very friendly or calming towards our pup. It was obvious our dog was stressed by the situation. She only clipped some of the nails as our dog scratched her while trying to wrestle away. It was $9 for half a nail clipping. She said I should come back again in 10 days... really? For another stressful and half-assed nail clipping? I think not. Vet Services- 4 stars Banfield was friendly, efficient and they are always honest about costs up front and try to give you the best advice, while keeping your expenses in mind. We will continue to use the vet services, but I am not looking forward to another grooming session. read more

I went to the Banfield inside this PetSmart when my 2 1/2 year old hamster got Wet Tail and was well beyond saving. They never mentioned that to me once. Banfield doesn't treat exotics so they knew there wasn't much they could do for Poof, but they tried anyways. Offered me many different options, none of which were putting my baby down. I am beyond grateful for the staff in this banfield for helping me out on a Sunday. Even though I ended up making the choice myself to put Poof down, they made the situation so much easier. I will never bring my pets anywhere else after this. EDIT: Today I received a condolences card from the staff at banfield, with personal notes about my Poof. My wife and I got us a 14 week old Lhasa Apso Puppy in early January. This was our first Puppy so we needed to know where to bring him for Grooming, We went to PetSmart and Gina, took him on. I have had him groomed other places in the past without any issues. About a year ago, I took my dog here as usual for the works. The woman told me that my dog tried biting here which was a total surprise. From all the other groomers she had always gotten a good remark. So I decided not to give up but just get another person to clip her. I specifically asked for a different person when booking her appointment. After I returned I was informed she had the same groomer. My dog was never the same after that! Thus I never went back. Imagine my dog was groomed at petsmart locations since she was a baby. She is now 11 years old. I would actually give them a lower rating than 1 star if possible. I'm sure my dog was mishandled there. I do not enjoy writing negative reviews but I felt it necessary to keep other dogs from being handled improperly. They completely cut my dogs paw when trimming her nails and pads and did not tell me anything about it. I never realized until I got my dog home and she was limping and licking. I will NEVER go back. They took all day just to cut his fur when they said it would only take an hour or two. The groomer decided to take a break right in the middle of trimming him.
