Best Petsmart I've been to. The store has a good layout with one open space down the middle and multiple lanes off to the sides so you can see down all of them without missing anything. Friendly staff, clean, always have crickets in stock, and a great selection of natural cat foods. I can't speak for the rest of the store since I only come here for my cats and bearded dragon, but there are always a lot of people here with their dogs. Downside: usually only have one lane open, and can be a bit pricey (as all Petsmarts are). read more

Brought my Shepard mix dog to Banfield. She is 95lbs. They were very uncomfortable dealing with a large dog. How can someone who works with dogs be afraid of them? Their fear came through loud and clear to my dog. It made my dog fearful. It was not good. Suggested putting her head between 2 doors for a rabies shot. Would need to sedate her to draw blood for heart worm test. Nope, we left. They don't deserve one star but that's the lowest rating. read more

Chain pet stores usually are nothing special to me. Exhibit A. Petsmart always smell to me. Always! I understand our pets have to go when they need to but is your selling products like stain/odor remover, then your store should be the perfect example that they work, just saying. The products are usually over priced and there isn't any really good deals for members. The only upside is that they started carrying healthier products but not a great deal of choices. Don't get me started with the Grooming Salon. What a joke, my puppy went to get her nails clipped because I had not found a salon to go to yet. They took her in the back where I could not see and seeing that this was her first time I wanted to make sure she was comfortable and the groomer was gentle with her. They have table in the front and the groomer chose not to use an available table in front where I could see, which I did not like. Actual bathing and cutting I would never trust, seeing that there's a new story on mess ups or horror stories on cuts that go wrong. No thank you. Any product I need I will stick to a specialty pet shop or online sites. read more

Don't go here. horrible experience with my 30 lb, 13 mo Aust Labradoodle. Yes, there was some matting, but this is my 3rd Labradoodle and I know that patient brushing works. Groomer told me that there might need some short cutting but she could blend well. Showed groomer pics of pup after grooming 2 months ago for style wanted. I said "call me if any problems." That way I could pick up pup and do more slow brushing and bring back in a couple of days. I came back after 3 1/2 hours, was told needed 45 minutes more. Didn't see pup. Got a call an hour later. Came for pickup and found there was a $100+ charge and a fully shaved dog. Including shaving the tail. If I had wanted a full shave I could have done that at home. read more

Horrible customer service!! We are waiting here right now to buy fish we have been waiting for half an hour almost! We have been looked at and even walked by 3 times now! Our experience at the Schaumburg Banfield and Grooming shop was beyond extraordinary! We recently adopted a Shi Tzu, Bella. Bella is very suspicious and not fully comfortable of people quite yet. We took her to Banfield for a complete check up and set of Vaccinations, both Dr. Henriquez and the veterinary assistant were amazing! (I wish I could remember her name!) Bella was terrified, but they were so patient with her. We placed her on the Wellness plan, I highly recommend it- I have an older dog who has been on the plan for 2 years and it is very well worth the money. Her groomer Aaron was extremely kind as well, he really took the time to get her comfortable. He explained to us that she was very skeptical of him so he sat by her kennel to get her warmed up before grooming her. My heart melted when I walked into the store and saw Aaron holding her and giving her attention. She looks absolutely beautiful and we are thankful! read more

Just tried purchasing a cat tree for my kitty at the Schaumburg Petsmart on Golf Rd. The manager told me to pull up to the front of the store to put the cat tree in my car.. after pulling up my car and putting on my hazards I run in to let the employees know I'm pulled up. We go outside and a police officer is writing me a 100 dollar ticket for parking in the no parking zone, exactly where the manager, Kathy, told me to park. I returned the cat tree showing the parking ticket to the Kathy who then took no responsibility. Excuse my language, but this is bullshit. I'm taking this to corporate! read more

I've been taking my dog here for about a year for grooming and recently they've been doing a horrible job. It's like the groomers just don't care about their jobs. The pricing has increase and what stopped me from continuing to take her here is that they want to start charging me because she likes to give kisses...are you kidding me? We have been taking our new 1 year old puppy to the classes at the Barrington Road and Schaumburg Petsmart and I cannot say enough about the team there. From the minute we signed up to the minute we walked in and walk in every week, the team is always greeting us with a smile, more than willing to assist, playful with the dogs and takes their sincere time to really care and show you where product is. They are the most helpful, friendly team we have EVER met and they deserve a big KUDOS. Besides, how fantastic, which we have noted several times, Lauren, the Trainer and Sonny both are. I was very disappointed with my grooming experience today. This is my first time going to this location and I went for the PAWdicure PLUS. My dog gets pretty stressed sometimes, which is why I came right at the time of my appointment. Someone was taken right before me (not sure if it was a walk-in or scheduled). Regardless, we were told to wait outside the salon. I could tell my dog was getting more and more stressed. This was the quickest appointment I have ever been too, which tells me a relationship was not developed. My dog has had his nails trimmed and grinder before at another location. While he was stressed, the previous groomer said she had another coworker help with holding his front paws to help. At the appointment, I was told he didn't like the grinder, so she wasn't really able to use it and even shaving his paws was difficult. His ears don't look trimmed, his hair on this paw pads are pretty long, and he didn't leave with any kind of bow or bandana. I still had to paw full price for a very disappointing service. Maybe it varies by groomer, and I'm sure some dogs are easier than others, but I am incredibly disappointed with my experience tonight. My search will continue for another qualified and patient groomer. read more

Great Store! We take out dog Charlie there to get his hair cut. Crystal always does such a great job! You get a little "report card" when you pick your pet up, that comes with coupons. Crystal takes her time, cuts his hair and trims his nails exactly how we ask :) A couple times I've been there I noticed they have some great events going on. read more

I've been bringing my dog for many years and have always had Amanda groom him because she loves him. he always comes out happy when she grooms him but since Amanda was injured i had to use a different groomer. December I had Ashley which I liked very much. So when it was time for him to be groomed I booked another appointment for April 2 with Ashley again because Amanda still couldn't groom him. A couple days before the rude manager called to change his appointment fine no problem. the only day she had was Easter Sunday at 2:30. I said fine I'll deal with that. I dropped my dog off at 2:30 he normally takes 4 hours to groom but on Sunday they closed at 5:30. They called at 5:06 he was ready. I picked him up and they brought him out he looked very cute. Here's where I get mad my dog is blind and they walked him out from the back and let him walk right into a grooming table head first. He hit his head. I brought him home and he was not acting like his normal self. The groomer said my dog fell asleep while she groomed him at record breaking speed. That would never happen he's obnoxious. We got home and he was not himself . Tuesday my vet tech stopped at the house by Wednesday he was at the Vet at 8:00 he was there for 4 hours. They believe he had a concussion which possibly could have caused him to act like he had a stroke. $313 dollars later . So this was the last time Petsmart will be grooming my dog. Amanda is the best groomer so I'm sorry Loki Bear won't see her anymore. I will miss her. But the manager is exceptionally rude and gave me hard time because is blind and diabetic and a senior dog. She wanted me to not give my dog his insulin on the day of grooming their rule is no shots on the day of service. He needs insulin just like a person he never misses his shots whether he's getting groomed or not. I've already contacted another groom shop they have no problem dealing with blind diabetic dogs and they normally block off 4 hours for a dog his size. So please be wary just giving everyone a glimpse into what happened to us. read more

Grooming did a great job on our 1.5 yr old Bulldog after he got skunked. Misa did a fantastic job washing him with a special shampoo, brushing his teeth, trimming his nails, cleaning his ears, and the favorite anal gland cleaning. She also washed out his eyes multiple times to get all the skunk spray out. Our smelly pup came back smelling much better and feeling much happier. I am so happy with her service and so is Arnie the bulldog too! We'll be back ...hopefully not after a battle with skunks though. read more

My golden retriever/spaniel mix really needed a bath to wash off the 4th of July weekend. Only place open was petsmart, and I was nervous about the mixed - mostly weak - reviews. My experience was excellent. Phone was answered, and appointment was offered, by professional and knowledgeable person first thing in the morning. Dropped off two hours later and it was fairly busy. Heather was our assigned groomer. I was told it would take about two hours, and got a call when they were ten minutes from finished that he would be ready shortly. Pick up was easy, price was excellent, and my high strung dog was fairly relaxed and absolutely sparkling! Highly recommend both Petsmart grooming and technician Heather. read more

I would never risk taking my dog there, 'they have a new bunch of inexperienced people who shaved off my dog's skin and then they didn't even apologize and they tell me Banfield is closed right now so we can't help u so come back tomorrow when my poor little dog is bleeding away to glory.they just assumed he needed to be stitched up instead of listening to me say that he was not cut but brazen or his skin was shaved off. They charged me 59 for the grooming and nail clipping which they forgot to cut.. Cats don't like water or blow dryers...maybe you should find out what happened before making mean accusations! And let me guess, you complained and got your groom for free and the vet bill...which was probably not even the groomers fault! I am a foster mom and my dogs are usually scared to death. I bring them to Ashley because I know she is so good with them. She talks to them in a voice that helps calm them. She is very patient and doesn't get mad at them like I have seen other groomers do. This is one of the larger PetSmart stores that I have seen in the area. This location has the best selection of items for cats and dogs, and is very organized. Of all the PetSmart stores that I have been to, this location had the most employees on the sales floor looking for customers to help. don't think I'll go here again, we took our puppy in for a bath and trim and when went to pick her up we noticed another Dog was being groomed and they kept hurting it, I think there rough with the grooming here. they took 10min to get her and all I could here in the back was her yelping like she was getting hurt so I started to worry and mind you other people came in after me and got there pups faster, they were in and out. So finally she comes out and she couldn't wait to leave that place and once I got her home wasn't herself, she just kept sleeping. I think they drugged her and hurt her. read more

I have had my dogs there over 6 times for grooming. Each time I went there, something just didn't feel quite right when I picked up the dogs. One of the girls in grooming was really rude today--without going into it, because I really do not think they care--I came to the decision that they are just a high volume groomer that does not pay attention to the details of dog grooming. Like the two stars state, the service is just "meh". When it comes to my dogs, who are my kids, "meh" is just not good enough. this Petsmart works with the " Almost home foundation" which places rescued dogs to their forever home. Whats awesome is on Saturday's they have all the dogs that are available for adoption there so you can meet them!!!! i found the love of my life- an abused 3 year old schnauzer who has completely changed my life. also, i found 2 baby birds and brought them there in a panic and one of the girls who works there offered to take them and raise them.... mind you these birds needed to be fed every 2 hours!!! it was such a relief and she sent me update pictures of them until they were well enough to fly away and live a life they almost didn't get to have! They have a few animals to adopt- all look very well taken care of, and the employees seem very caring and compassionate towards them. I get that this is a pet store but why is it always so dirty in this store? The floors are dirty and sometimes sticky, the cans of food have dust all over them. Why isn't anything ever cleaned in this store? With all the pets you have walking in and out, I bet they are catching fleas with you not washing the floors. Same goes for the Banfield pet rooms, always dirty and smelly. Clean it up a little. We pay a lot of money every year for these pet plans to come walk into a dirty room where I don't know what the last animal you looked at had wrong with it. read more

I've taken my dog here a few times to get her nails trimmed/grinded. The last two times though, I requested and paid for a Pawdicure. It says it includes (and this is directly stated from their website): "PAWdicure Service includes: Nail trim Nail grind Light feet trim & pad shaving Ear cleaning & hair removal Scented cologne spritz Bandana or bow" The first time they only cleaned one of her ears. Not sure if they actually spritzed her with a scented cologne or not, but there definitely wasn't any bow or bandana. I thought maybe it was just a small thing and it could happen so I decided to take her again. The groomer who did the job seemed nice so I took her to get a PAWdicure today. I drop her off and go to pay for the service at the front counter and as I head back to the grooming room, they say she's ready for pick up. I'm really surprised at how fast they got it done so I got a little suspicious. I asked the groomer if her ears were cleaned and she told me they were. So I walk my dog a bit around the store since they were having an adoption event and head home. After awhile of getting home that day, my dog sits in my lap. I check her nails- Good. I check her ears- the same. They didn't clean it at all. I check her feet again- they didn't even shave or trim any of the fur on her feet. I must say I am sorely disappointed. The groomer basically lied to me and I know it wasn't a communication error because I heard the groomer at the front desk ask another groomer if they had time for a Pawdicure and she had said yes. Not planning on going to this place again for grooming. As for the store though, they have decent sales on different items every time I go and the staff have always been friendly so I would recommend for purchases, but NOT for grooming. read more

When I got home and checked my bags, there where items missing, I called the store to check if the items where still at the cash register. I was told that nothing was found. When transferred to the manager, she tells me the only thing she can do is take my number down and call me just in case some one returns the items to the store. Making it seem like it's my fault that all the items where not placed in the bag. When asked her for a store credit or money back she refused. Instead she tells me that she knows all her cashiers and they would not make those mistakes. By that time, I was getting frustrated and asked for her name. She refused to give me her name and hanged up on me. Very unprofessional and rude. The managers name is Laura. There's two petsmart in opposite directions, but about the same distance from my house. I didn't even know this petsmart existed until a few months ago. The first time I can here, bad experience. I gave them a second chance and still the same. It's so hard to get assistance. I have a 75 gallon tank for my fish and a 10 gallon one for my turtle. Needless to say, I need many plants for my fish, because my fish are different sized and the babies need places to hide. This one girl asked me if I need help, I picked out 4 fish and I said I'm gonna look around a bit more. She was nice and said she was going to be right in that room. The door was open, so it should have been easy when I made up my mind considering how she was only 5 feet from the door. My friend and I was calling out to her, but she was talking to another girl and didn't hear us, we were pretty loud. The 2-3 ppl standing by the cashier were chatting away. All of them saw us, made eye contacts with us, but continued talking. It took 10 whole minutes before the girl came out of the room to assist us. The end read more

This was my first and last time using Petsmart's Grooming. I have a big dog (German Shepard mix). He had rolled in something smelly, so I needed a last minute appointment. Thankfully they were able to accommodate me with a few hours notice. It was a cheap service for a bath, brush, nails and ears. I guess you get what you pay for! My dog did not smell bad when I got him back, but he did not smell good. I don't think they bother to use a cologne on him. His nails barley looked trimmed. I usually do the trimming myself, and have never found it difficult to control him. He also had noticeable clumps of loose fur in his tail. Also he was still very damp when we picked him up. I think they just wanted to leave for the night, and rushed through the job. Basically I had to dry, brush, and trim my dogs nails when he got home. read more
