The manager here is so helpful and kind. I felt like they cared about our shopping experience. Grooming services and self service pet bathing is available. They carry so many brands of pet food including refrigerated and frozen premium foods. Plenty of free parking in the lot. They have a rewards program and you can order online and they will have your order ready for pickup in an hour or you can have it delivered too. I'm not sure if the groomers are over worked, underpaid, or both but every time I go in, the groomers look MISERABLE. No one is smiling. No one seems glad to be there. After bringing my dog here for a year, I will not be returning. Also every single time I went in, they asked for proof of vaccination (even though I provided it three times within one year). We took our beautiful Labradoodle and Shih-tzu for grooming yesterday and were shocked beyond words at the outcome. When we challenged the services we were told that was what we asked for. I had suspicions when they were ready to be picked up after 2 hours (when normally it is 4 hours). They basically were shaved to less than 1/4 of an inch. We will not be return customers. read more

Employees here are nice and helpful both psp workers and the grooming salon workers but everytime I go shop there's always a problem with either the animals themselves or their enclosures. I recently visited over the weekend and I was passing by the animals and noticed this bearded dragon whose finger is bent all the way back, I was watching the animal for a while and it could barely Move because of that injury. I let a grooming salon worker know who was very nice by the way and she let one of the psp workers know , all the psp worker had to say was that they'll send someone to check the animal out. I let it be thinking that someone would check on the animal but I returned 20 minutes later and there was no difference. The animal was still unable to move and not one team member had came to check on it. Once again staff is very nice and helpful but I do hope this review can be used to bring more attention to the animals that are in need of help. read more

The grooming services here is very disappointing. First, they do a terrible job keeping the area clean. There is always hair everywhere. Second consistently, the staff has a nasty attitude. I brought my dog Rocco to get groomed Wednesday and my sister went to pick him up. When I got home I noticed his eye had a blood patch in it. Then it got worse his entire eye turned red & bloodshot. I called this location the following day and Brittany answer the one who groomed my dog and I told her what happened, she told me oh it's just a cherry eye. IT DOESN'T LOOK ANYTHING LIKE CHERRY EYE. She passed me to the Manager Alexis Bc she already knew what she had done. She assured me that they would never do anything to animals like this but sure enough Brittney did. She also said that he was nippy when they cut his face with sheers but I am sure there is another way to handle nippy dogs other than choking them with those home made leashes they tie around their necks. I have multiple friends in the area that have said the same thing about Brittney. She cuts and abuses our dogs. I took my dog to the vet and the vet said it was from him being choked or A LOT of strain on his neck. She gave me pain medicine and inflammation meds for him. I will never go back to this place. Alexis ur an amazing Manager but you need to get rid of Brittney she is bad for your business and doesn't care about animals enough to even be around them. I have provided pictures of my dog the same day after his grooming appointment. Such a shame. My heart hurts for my puppy. read more

They rebuilt the self serve dog wash. It looks beautiful but it's not pet friendly .. One high tile step to get in. The showers are high off the ground. Harder for a dog that has back leg problems to jump in and that's too heavy to be lifted in. The tile gets very slippery when wet. The old wash was much better. Kinda bummed. read more

I've been coming to Pet Supply Plus for some time now. They have a good variety of dog food & supplies but the place definitely has room for improvement. I use the dog wash often at the Streamwood location and I must say I am not very pleased with management at this store. The self-service dog wash NEVER has clean towels stocked. I've had to chase down employees on 2-3 occasions to request them to bring more towels. The water temperature is NEVER just right for the dogs. The dryer does not have warm air and speed is slow. Therefore, drying time takes much longer I feel like employees at this location make an excuses ALL the time as to why the water isn't hot or why they don't have clean towels. This is NOT how any business should be ran!!! Employees should be proactive! I feel this location could learn a thing or two from a location I recently visited in Frisco, TX. They're dog wash station was very nice, clean and had really good dryers. Their dryers actually pushed out warm air, drying time was quick, adjustable nob to control air speed. Towels were fully stocked and nicely folded too. read more

I have been a loyal customer for 15+ years at this location. I have had no problems with Hailey the head groomer who got promoted nor Alexia the head groomer who recently quit. I requested an experienced groomer to handle one of my older Pekingese dogs who is afraid of nail trims & was told that Brittany had a lot of experience. She was afraid of my dog, refusing to trim his nails & store management REFUSED to refund my $$$. She refused to redo his nails the following day when I brought him in. The other more inexperienced associate was also afraid & didn't use the correct 2 person protocol to get the job done since they will not use a cone or mussel.Plus they are now charging extra $$$$ for anal gland expressions which are only external. Brittany claims to have worked for 15 years in a vet clinic. She was very argumentative & abrupt-no customer service skills. The store manager Paige also didn't know how to handle the situation. I paid $$$ for a service that was NOT able to be preformed due to inexperienced staff. I want my hard earned $$$ back. read more

Sharing a recent experience with grooming dept. Last week we set up appts for our senior dog and new puppy with our favorite groomer. Got plenty of reminders and request for confirmation for the appts. The day came; today Mid day appt. Groomer informs us upon arrival, after navigating multiple carts loaded with stock blocking isles, making an obstacle course to make it to the grooming dept. That there will be an express fee on top of regular grooming fees on the senior dog. Groomer stated she learned this morning about the change in policy and did not call us and give us a heads up. Appts cancelled. Not about to pay an express fee. We had been using their services for many yrs with multiple dogs all seniors. Never had an issue til today with our appts. So senior dog, nor new puppy got groomed as planned. Did find a new groomer that took care of nail trims today with appts set up. This is not the first time recently that we have had issues with poor customer service with this location unrelated to grooming. We will not longer spending out $$$ there. There are other more local pet stores including ma and pa places that will gladly take our money and offer us better customer service. I did post on their facebook page and they removed it as expected because it was not positive. Did reach out to corporate headquarters waiting for a call back. There has been alot of management turnover since they opened this location in Streamwood. And sadly it shows that Mgmt is forgetting customer service. Had stuff in stock and good sales. I absolutely love this store and so does my pup! She goes here often for her mani pedi and I've not seen her as calm as she is here anywhere else. Shirley loves the staff and enjoys walking down the aisles and shopping!(a woman after all) I love that they have nail trim offers every Tuesday and Thursday. They also carry a lot of premium brands which is a plus point. And they have JJ fuds sticks!!! That's a win win! We've been coming here for 4 years for grooming religiously. We would even drive an hour just for this location. They used to have great staff but after today we will never be back. They don't listen to what you say you want, and they absolutely butchered my dual coat dog by shaving her when I specifically went over with the groomer that we only wanted a bath and feet trimmed. They do whatever they want to do and my dogs coat/skin is now paying the price. Find somewhere else to take your dog to because now I will be paying the price for months. A groomer should know that YOU NEVER SHAVE A DUAL COAT DOG. read more
