Very disappointed! My husband brought our six-year old lab here to be groomed. He had not been to Royal before, however, our previous lab came rather regularly. We were expecting the same service as we had in the past. We noticed after picking him up that he had been cut on several places on his body. His paw was bleeding, one of his ears was cut too close on the inside and it was red with a sore forming. His neck was cut in several areas down to his skin too. I was absolutely shocked. In the days following, his neck started to ooze at the areas cut. As a result I had to bring him to the vet to treat him which is now requiring antibiotics. All in all this "visit" has cost me more than the grooming charge (over $100) because of the medications and vet visit. We will never use the Royal Pet again. They hurt my pet. read more

I just wanted to come on here and give a review for this business because I think it deserves more reviews than it currently has! I also know how time-consuming looking for the perfect groomer can be because I spent SO MANY hours researching places and reading reviews to make sure I felt comfortable leaving my new rescue pup in the hands of people I trusted. I didn't want him to experience any more trauma than he already had in his short little life. So while the reviews here aren't plentiful, I felt good about the ratings and wanted to support a local business. I'm so glad we did because the sisters who own this place do amazing work! And for a reasonable price! They're also always so nice! Our little guy doesn't love going for grooming, but the ladies here always take such good care of him, and he always comes back looking and smelling great! An additional touch that I just LOVE about Royal Pet (and look forward to each time I go to pick our pup up) is the little accessory they put on him at the end of each grooming appointment. They're usually festive and match the season too, and it's just so darn cute! I've attached a few photos as proof of cuteness. I highly recommend Royal Pet and suggest calling early to schedule an appointment because they're usually booked up a couple weeks in advance. Also know that their hours vary depending on the availability of the two owners who are also the ones doing the grooming. We love Royal Pet and the work they do, and we also love supporting local. CONSUMER BEWARE. PET PARENT BEWARE. I brought my boys here last Saturday. They were returned to me with uneven shaves, cuts all over, one bloody eye, and a hard time breathing. I called back the day of, the owner said it was because Shih Tzus are sensitive. Okay... I waited a few days. I noticed my dogs seemed down and not happy like usual. I called back and had to leave a message on Wednesday and got a text Thursday the owner would call me Friday. I get a call Friday, today, and the owner makes excuses. She said it's not related and I waited 5 days to call. She said she was out of town and has a cough. Her rep said she was the one who cut their hair.... The owner just kept making excuses, I had to hang up on her. She wasn't concerned about my dogs. She didn't give me my money back. We've taken our schnauzer Ginger here twice and both times the ladies here did a fabulous job! Ginger is a rescue who had been physically abused by a brute (her right hind leg has permanent tendon damage most likely from a human foot kicking it); consequently she is timid and frightened of most people. But not the ladies at Royal Pet!! She loves them and they have told me she is a very good girl during her bathing and grooming process. read more

No wonder there is only 1 review about this place. Let me tell you the experience I just had. I dropped off my 5 month old shih Tzu and advised he needed a bath and a trim, that I wanted to keep him fluffy. My boyfriend picks him up 3 hours later and he is SHAVED. When I called and advised that this was not what I asked for the girl on the phone stated she was sorry she misunderstood. I'm not quite sure how that can be misunderstood, but that just shows the intelligence level there. Not to mention, when I have questions about my customers' orders, I call them and ask for clarification. I went to the business and demanded my money back. Which is typical of what blue collar working class do, since every dollar matters, and the owner "Leanne" or something like that, very rudely stated that they did the job I asked and they are not refunding the money, very snottily. I advised I asked for a trim and to keep him fluffy, and she interrupted saying I asked for hair cut and that what I got. I said I asked for a trim, and she said "It's the same thing". Well, to my family who are in the HUMAN hair industry, there is a very BIG difference between trim and a haircut. Leanne, or whatever the "owners" name is has ABSOLUTELY NO BUSINESS SENSE" and could care less about her customers. All she cares about is YOUR CASH! I spend more on my dogs hair than I do my own, and pay more as well. And when I asked why 2 months ago, I requested the same services AND nails trim, and that was $30, but today for a bath & trim was $40, "Leanne" said "Well that's our prices, and other customers didn't complain". So I don't know what this lady is trying to pull, but it's very obvious that she is scamming her customers. My advice....DO NOT GO HERE. Keeping it simple....Royal Pet does terrific, professional work, has a VERY friendly long term staff, and my dog loves going here as well. I have been bringing our dogs there for quite some time, ALWAYS satisfied. Prices are in line with competitors but CARING about what they do is the BONUS!!! This privately owned business with owner on premises really cares about what they do and it shows. Tell them what you want done, get an appointment, drop off your pet and return to find a job well done. Simple. I love how they cut my two dogs. I have Maltese and Yorkie and each time I am bringing photos of desired haircut styles and each time my dogs look same as on pictures. The prices are reasonable and they are fast and walk-in 's which is awesome. Do not hesitate and give them a chance. read more

I have been taking my TWO dogs (ages 7 & 5) since they were babies. There is nothing negative I can say about Royal Pet. Pricing VERY GOOD, the grooming JUST RIGHT, the staff is excellent, they make my babies feel as if they are the ONLY dogs in the shop. There have been a couple of times that only 1 dog had to be groomed, and since the little one has NEVER been without the other, Royal Pet has allowed for the dog come , sit a nd wait for his brother to get groomed. I picked Royal Pet because they were close to me (at that time) since then I have moved about 6 miles further, and STILL take my babies to Royal Pet!!! Great Job ladies!!! read more

I brought my puppy to this establishment and completely regret it. My dog left the groomer being unable to walk because she was dropped by one of the employees there. I took her to the vet and they verified that she had injured a disc in her vertebrae and would be unable to use her hind legs unless we decided to put her through painful and expensive surgery. We had her on medication for a month, hoping to see some sort of improvement. It was no luck. She was put to sleep last week. My dog was young. This should not have happened to her at such an early age. We have proof that these groomers did this to her. She was perfectly fine when I dropped her off to get a haircut. Please, please, please do not let this happen to your pet. Do not let these careless people touch your pets. read more

I've been taking dogs to Royal pet for about 8 years. They were the only groomer that could handle my llhasa without being pussies about him. For a period of time, I was taking 3 dogs there every other month. Never had any issues. Fantastic service from a family operation. I took my poodle/shitzu in and they did exactly what I asked. The problem is they either poked him in the eye when they were trimming around his eyes or sprayed something in his eye that they shouldn't have. I noticed in the car on the way home that he couldn't even hardly open his eye and the white part was very red. Of course when I called them they said they didn't do anything to cause it. That 's bull because it was NOT like that when I dropped him off. I ended up taking him to the vet a couple days later because it wasn't' getting any better and they gave me drops to put in his eye. So, the grooming ended up costing me $145 and misery for my sweet pup. BEWARE!! read more

What can I say about Royal Pet......it's the only place my high maintenance dog can go for a groom without being traumatized. I've taken him to other places which haven't worked out so well and when he goes to Royal Pet we have no problem. I have a small dog but believe me I've seen mini ponies getting groomed. Royal Pet is probably the only place in the area that I can trust with my dog, I have seen other places handle their pets during washing and drying and I couldnt believe how rough they were with the animals.Royal Pets are very understanding of a pets behavior away from the owner and the fact that the dog may sometimes be nervous, my dog has never been unhappy after his grooming and he isnt afraid to go back, I have been a loyal client for the past 7 years and will continue to bring my dog back to them. read more
