I usually get my supplies from a place in Ballard but sometimes I stop in on the way home. My experience with employees has been pleasant but nothing out of the ordinary. I didn't have to find anyone to answer a question or lend assistance though. Store was kept clean and well-stocked on each of my visits. Large parking lot shared with the grocery store next door. My only complaint would be dog owners who don't clean up after their pets OUTSIDE of the store... seriously people? Pick it up. There's free bags available if you don't have any! read more

I don't like many big suburban-ish stores, but Petsmart is a win for me. They have a huge selection of pet stuff at decent prices. Also, one time I went there at 9 AM just after the store opened, and I saw two mice doing it. That was an amazing experience that totally made my week. read more

We went here on a sunny Friday night because I wanted to find a hermit crab that was exciting instead of the one that just keeps sitting there... So then we found one! This one climbed everywhere and believe me, it woke me up 3 in the morning because it kept tapping on its tank. I personally think that Petsmart is better than Petco. They have a bigger selection, their prices are cheaper and well, generally things are better here. Except for the staff. They didn't have the best staff, I'd have to agree with the other reviewers. I only go here for litter and high end cat food. Getting help is a challenge. The last time I tried to ask about the location of a product I got literally the meanest look from the girl. I said "excuse me" and "please" and she still looked at me like she would shiv me with a box cutter given half a chance. Check out can take forever so have plenty of time to kill. Took my cat here for grooming. He had some mats and thought it would be easier to take him somewhere for a quick shave instead of investing in clippers myself. I was wrong. I called and asked if they could do a cat (as many places cannot), they said yes they had a girl who did cats. Ok, great. I take him in and drop off and leave. Come back, get home, cat still has mats. I was charged for a service that I did not receive. I brought my cat back and explained that the only thing I asked them to do was make sure they took off the mats, and they failed. There rationale was "well, he wasn't being cooperative" Ok, I work at a vet clinic, I get that some pets are just not going to allow grooming of any sort. But then why charge me? I stood there and pointed out the mats and restrained my own cat for them. I will never go back there again! read more

My husband and I are proud parents to our older dog and we have started using this location for grooming as well as any 'small' dog purchases we might need. The store itself is fairly large and also has a lot to offer (Banfield is connected for vet services). We took him in to be groomed last night and they finished him up early. The only reason I am rating as just 'ok' is that some of the other dogs seemed to have lots of issues with the nail grooming. Our dog is very patient and good with letting you touch his paws and ears but it just seemed some of the smaller dogs seemed very scared and shaking visibly. read more

Sometimes it can get pretty busy and it's hard for them to get staff to work the counters. Other than that, everyone is helpful and very welcoming. I take my little pup Clyde here to get groomed every 2 months or so, and have been for about 2 years now. I continue to come to this place because the staff in the grooming salon is very patient and know how to work with dogs. I've only had one bad experience here when I picked up my pooch and he was completely shaved (I was horrified) but that person no longer works in the grooming salon anymore. They ask exactly what you want, and if you drop off your dog and they notice something they didn't consult you about they will give you a call before they make any drastic choices. Thank goodness. I recently brought my dog here and a new girl took care of him. He looked good when I picked him up, but I noticed he had some mats in his hair from not being brushed properly. I called the salon and Kesha told me to come in and they would take care of him, just to swing by. Its nice knowing that they take responsibility for their mistakes and care about the customers happiness. I took him here, went to the gym near by, and he got every knot and mat spot shaved or brushed out (special thanks to Favian). They are fast, and very professional. As for the store, very large selection, lots of toys for the animals, and all different kinds of foods and things to keep your animal clean. On average a 3 star establishment - A OK. The customer service I received in person was great however the customer service I receive when I call is lacking. The first time I called was to change my puppy training date. The person on the phone said everything was changed but when I got there the trainer didn't even know I was there. Luckily she was around and had some free time otherwise I would have had to come back another day. Also...when I called about scheduling a pet grooming appointment the woman on the phone didn't have a clue as to what the services were and how much they cost. To her defense...she said she was new so I forgave the lack of knowledge but when I arrived to drop off my pet the list of services was right there in black and white. Could it have killed her to pick up the card and read it back to me? Oh a lighter note the puppy training class was good and we are slowly learning new things each week. The in store selection is vast despite the fact that they don't carry my dog food brand. All the prices are pretty much on par with other establishments and it is always clean. read more

This is the "chain" pet store that I prefer to go to if I need to go buy a bunch of things and want to do a one stop shopping trip. The prices are much more reasonable, it's big and has lots of things to choose from (the puppy goes crazy in the toy section), and the staff is friendly. Good Toy, leash, and treat selection for dogs. Every time I have been in there, I take my dog in with me. She is a little chihuahua mix and loves tagging along. I have always been greeted and smiled at by the friendly staff. I really appreciate good customer experience, and they have it down. Every time I come here to get crickets I stand and wait for someone to help in the cricket/fish section. No one comes so then I have to wait in line for the cashier to tell someone to come help me. Then I wait for that person to come. Then I go back and stand in line to checkout. I've passed along this feedback multiple times. I LOVE this location! Every groomer has been AWESOME with our precious Bonita. Gypsy is great. All groomers I've talked with have been very helpful and nice. Customer service is excellent. The other comments and reviews seem to be very poor. All I've experienced here at this Petsmart on Aurora and 130th is great service. I noticed today when I was walking my dog in that she was OK walking into the groomers. Usually at other Petsmart's alwahad she has never wanted to walk in on her own. That tells me a lot. Five years ago, I purchased a 55 gallon tank, plus set up kit and enormous black dresser-type aquarium stand from this location. After I set it up and it was ready to populate, I had the good luck to ask for help from one of the best representatives while making my selection. Because my fish were well matched, compatible, easy to care for, they have been an utter joy from that day, to this. I was impressed with how knowledgeable the staff were in helping me select and maintain our aquarium with products and suggestions for care and feeding. The selection of fish and decorations was suited to my large aquarium and it looks fantastic! I recommend getting your start with Petsmart - be smart! read more

Someone who stayed with me and my other roommate had a dog...this dog had fleas which we did not know of at the time and spread disaster to our whole apt. A few days after this person who stayed with us and his dog left I was bit by so many fleas I could kick that dude in the balls numerous amounts of times and not feel bad about it. I went to this store hoping they would have a good selection of flea removal products which they unfortunately did not. They have a small selection of a brand that has pretty terrible reviews of not working. So I bought some items to at least hold off some of the fleas from myself and my roommate and surfed Amazon and bought some good stuff. The store is quite large and has a good selection of other animal necessity but it was lacking what I really needed. If I was there for other products I would have rated this store a star higher. I've been taking my pug to be groomed at Petsmart for several years, and I'm pretty happy with their pricing and services. The groomers are all friendly and seem to really like dogs. Sometimes I have to remind them to completely dry my little guy, or not to cut too much on the nail. But overall they do a good job on the simple grooming services my pug needs. I went to Petsmart to have my Brittany Spaniel groomed. I asked to have Sydney HoxitGill do the job because she has been to beauty school, loves dogs and cats and because she is my daughter. She is so good with dogs she is like a dog whisperer. She did my hair in beauty school and now she is doing my dog's hair. I've been coming to the grooming center for 15 years with my dog Max. After this appointment I was told that Max was on longer allowed to be groomed here. Amanda was the groomer that saw Max the most and she was amazing, friendly, so kind and loving. Unfortunately, she left the company and referred us to Christina. The first time we brought Max in to see her, she said he's too old I'm not sure if I can cut his hair because old dogs are aggressive. We were taken back by her comments and her attitude. Nonetheless, we explained that Amanda had been seeing him regularly without issues. She then made comments about not being able to bathe him, etc. We always pay for the highest service which includes bath, cut, extra conditioning, toes clipped. She ended up just cutting his hair and was surprised that he cooperated. Now, yesterday was the second time we brought him in to see her. Again, the old dog comments came up. This time my mom stood and watched as she just cut his hair because again she won't give him a bath. When my mom realized she was about to finish she remembered her wallet was in the car. She left for 2 mins to go get it and within that time Christina called her to tell her she couldn't finish because Max kept moving. My mom came in and asked her what happened she said he's moving and I can't do his back paw. He was sniffing around on the table because he could smell other dogs. She then said it's a safety issue and that unfortunately he's not going to be able to be seen here anymore. She offered her a refund because she didn't finish. Our family has been loyal customers to PetSmart and Banfield at this particular location since Max was 8 weeks old. We have referred tons of family and friends. But never again. We contacted the manager and he agreed with Christina and said for Max's safety and our groomers we can't groom him here anymore. I would like to know what the safety concern is. My dog never bite her, attempted to bite her, or got aggressive with her. Because he was moving around it's a safety concern?!! They have them on a short leash on a table with one hand on the dog at a time. This to me is just an excuse for a groomer that doesn't know how to do her job. Our dogs are our family members. Just because they get old doesn't mean they should get stereotyped into a category. The amount of money that my family has spent at this location, and all the people that we have referred there, and our loyalty was for nothing because at the end of the day our business clearly never matter. I had a $10 off coupon & was desperate to get my dog in tip top shape before out of town relatives came to visit, which were the ONLY reasons that I brought my dog to this store's grooming salon. I arrived right on time for my appointment, but that didn't matter: they spent 15 mins checking in a woman who I overheard them say was 30 mins late for her appointment. Um, why should I have to wait to be acknowledged for nearly 20 mins (5 extra to take her dog to the back) when I'm on time & she's not?! That's right; even though there were FIVE groomers standing around doing NOTHING in addition to the girl checking in the other woman's dog, NO ONE (out of 6 ppl) even made eye contact with me or greeted me. I'm not a judgmental person usually, but when it comes to my dog's care (he is my best friend, after all!), I scope people out more critically & my gut was screaming to walk out the door just based on the way these "ladies" presented themselves. I wouldn't have even hired them to pick up my dog's poop if they had interviewed with me for such a position!!! Against my better judgment, I stayed, & even worse, I allowed them to talk me into upgrading to a package that was an extra $16. I instantly regretted this once I left the store, but I figured my dog deserved the best treatment & I'd just have to give the benefit of the doubt that they would do a good job despite their inability to even groom themselves properly. BIG.MISTAKE. Four hours after dropping him off, I still hadn't gotten a phone call from anyone saying he was ready to be picked up. Um, wtf? No way does it take 4 hrs to bathe a dog and brush out his coat, clip his nails, clean his ears, brush his teeth & spray him with "perfume". So I called to see what the status was, & after a pathetic explanation of my dog's name & breed (she didn't recognize him as an animal that was there!), she put me on hold to "go check and see"...how do you not know the status of the no more than 6 dogs you could have possibly accepted that early in the morning that hadn't already been picked up?! She came back to say he was ready to go. Well, gee, thanks for calling to let me know! I arrived 40 mins. later to pick him up. I took my time since I figured they were either lying that he was ready (& I didn't want to wait around for any longer than I already had) or owed me some extra kennel boarding time while I ran an extra errand (owed me because I *knew* the service was going to be crappy & overpriced). And I was right on both counts. I got there & his check-out sheet was not among the ones for the dogs that were ready to be picked up. She went to the back and as the door swung open on her return up front, I saw my dog being aggressively handled by the groomer I had left him with; he clearly didn't like her which is saying a lot because he LOVES *all* people. The receptionist grabbed a spray bottle from one of the stations, which I knew was the perfume stuff that was part of the upgraded package, & slipped back to my dog and the groomer; clearly, they weren't done with him! They asked me to pay before allowing me to check their work; this made me suspicious so I asked if I could look him over first. He looked okay from afar, but a more detailed glance at him indicated that his nails were very poorly clipped; they had not been filed in the least & were more jagged and sharper (and not cut short enough) than they were when I dropped him off! His teeth hadn't been brushed, even though this was one of the main features of the upgraded package. Even though I also paid for the special deshedding shampoo and furminator brush-out, he was still shedding badly- the groomer even made a comment about this. I forgot to check his ears while I was there, but upon getting home, I found out that they completely forgot to do this (which means his anal glands didn't get touched either, even though I paid for that too)! His ears were DISGUSTINGLY dirty-- there is NO WAY they cleaned them! So, I had to do it, even though I had just dropped $40 on his "spa" day! I will NOT be back, least of all because while I was waiting for them to bring my dog up front, one of the other groomers (perhaps one of the trashiest girls I have ever laid eyes on), leaned over *right* in front of me to handle a dog near the floor and literally displayed her cheap hot pink thong, tramp stamps, & her entire fleshy butt-- all 80lbs. of it. So gross, I nearly screamed, and I'm by no means a fattie-hater (I could lose some pounds myself), but I at least recognize & appreciate professional dress codes & decorum in a place of business, & that was NOT it (e.g., I also wear belts when my pants are too loose!). Shame on Petsmart for not enforcing this. Those groomers are entrusted with the aesthetic care of our precious best friends; they should at least look like they give a damn about their own aesthetics! I would give a 0 star to this review if I could. This is for the horrible grooming service. So I took my pomeranian puppy to have his first bath at this grooming salon for the basic puppy bathing service. I was told to come back in a couple hours to get him and when I came back, he was crying so loud that we could even heard him from outside. My pup was terrified when the lady got him back to me. He smelled and looked exactly like before and as if he has never taken the bath. My pup has dry skin and he has some flakes on his fur so it would be so easy to tell if he has just taken a bath or not. Also, his nails were broken and bleeding, some of his nails were parted into pieces which were still sticking out of his toes. In the record book, this woman whose name was Ashley stated that she gave him a tangerine shampoo bath and ear cleaning product but I can guarantee that he didn't receive any of it. So after all, this will be the first and also the last time that I would take my pup to this Aurora Petsmart again. read more

I am blown away by their kindness. I just moved to this area and the Petsmart where I am from opens at 8am. I got to the store at 8:00am and discovered that they don't open until 9:00. I was sitting outside waiting and started to speak with one of the Petsmart employees who was waiting to go into work. When it was time for him to go into the store, he said "Let me check with my Manager to see if we can get you in now". Less than 30 seconds later, he popped his head out the front door and told me to come on in (this was about 8:15am, 45 minutes before the store was to open). Thank you Patrick and Jackie for going over and above the call of duty and caring about your customers. Patrick cashiered my items and he was delightful and friendly. Hubby made an appt for our dog ( a Spitz, identical to a Pom) to be goomed at this Petsmart as we were to be in the area all afternoon shopping. So it was all about two birds, one stone. We also are new to Seattle and haven't found a vet/groomer/boarder for our dog so we thought we'd bite the bullet and try a mega chain. Anyway, upon walking into the grooming area, I was immediately uncomfortable. Too many people waiting. Too many dogs crying. Groomers, each and every one of them, appeared flustered. Bad vibes right away. We were then asked if we had an appt to which we replied yes, we were told that the girl scheduled to groom our dog was, in fact, "not here yet". Okay. Then she proceeds to ask us a multitude of questions regarding "comb size" etc. I do not know the answers to these questions. I do know that we dropped our dog off every 3 months and our groomer NEVER asked these questions. Even the very first visit, we weren't asked these questions. We would ask for a shampoo, a trim, nail trim, de-shedding undercoat etc. and 3 hours later he would be completely coiffed, smelling fine and looking spiffy with a bandana around his neck. This is exactly what we asked for this time as well. We were NEVER asked about comb size/blade size/scissor size etc. And I don't know, aren't YOU the pro? Aren't YOU the one that should be making recommendations? Recommendations based on what WE want for our dog? Or at least based on the type of coat our dog has? Well all this just added to my discomfort and against my instincts (which were to walk right out) we left. When we returned 3 hours later. Our dog was unrecognizable. Unbelievably short ALL over. I said over and over "I do not want him shaved". He looks like he was shaved. But once you get close you realize some other type of blade was used as it's all sooo choppy and uneven. I mean seriously CHOPPY. I cried. He doesn't look like a Spitz. He doesn't look like a Pom. He looks like a freakin refugee. Honestly. I know it's only hair but he looks sooooo bad. I'm so sad. The manager was very nice and apologized profusely. I asked for a refund and was refunded immediately without any excuses. One star for the manager. Minus 5 stars for the grooming staff. Oh and as far as the de-shedding....even sporting the Sinead O'Connor...he's shedding in clumps. Edited to add...I specifically said "Do not shave his penis" Just looked and yep, that's right, you guessed it....they shaved his penis. I went from sad to mad. Bastards. read more

A second girl came up and said "Your groomer didn't come in today, so we need to reschedule you". That would have been great to know before I drove all the way over. No missed calls, no voicemails telling me they had to cancel, nothing. They didn't even apologize. Terrible customer service. read more

Patricia did an awesome job grooming my maltipoo mocha. Hes sensitive in both right paws due to constant chewing when he has separation anxiety and she was so patient in grooming him. Mocha is so fluffy now because she combed out his fur nicely and the hairstyle is as I wanted. Highly recommended! read more

This part reflects their grooming salon. I am a fan of theirs to get Jade all purdy and clean! They do a good job and Jade goes home smelling and feeling fresh as a daisy! The staff here are nice and are attentive to the dogs. Jade leaves here happy and excited. They get busy so that of course is a good sign. Appointments are highly recommended, except if you just want them to get a Pawdicure (toenails trimming, filing, and ear cleaning). read more

The groomers at PetSmart take great care of my girls. They call me before and during my dogs' grooming sessions just to let me know what they are doing. It's funny, my dogs know when they look pretty. Lots of prancing and fluffy tail-wagging. The regular staff is very nice and helpful as well. Here is a tip: check out the large bins when you enter. I will never shop at this store again, have been shopping for cat supplies for over a year. A friend of mine took her Australian Labradoodle for grooming yesterday. This breed has long curly hair. She reviewed in detail, with the groomer, the few mats to be cut off, and bathing her dog. She gave the groomer a card detailing how to groom this breed. When she picked up her dog he was completely shaved, even eyelashes gone. This dog is now wearing sweaters to stay warm. There were nicks on the dog's groin area, around his head, and he is doing a lot of head shaking. The dog is going to the vet for the nicks and head shaking. If you value your dog do not use these groomers. Don't shop at this store. read more

He was prompt and followed through on his promises to make the situation right! I would give this place a negative star if it was possible. Although the retail side of the store has always been ok I have a major issue with the grooming. We had one successful grooming of our 2yo mini-poodle here so we brought him back a few months later. Two hours after dropping him off we were called and told that there was a minor accident. Minor my ass! They cut poor Harvey on his stomach so severely he needed four stitches, antibiotics and pain pills for a week and had to wear the stupid lamp shade collar thingy. We just got his stitches out and noticed that he also has two small puncture wounds on his head and a scraped paw. DO NOT USE THEIR GROOMING SERVICES! Thank God that the great folks at Banfield pet hospital are attached to this building. They were able to take him there immediately and patch him up. I have also taken my cat to this vet and they were great. Yay for Banfield and BOOOOOO to Pet Smart Groomers. read more
