James is really great with keeping Louie's long coat in order and only does what is necessary to keep him healthy and happy. The first time we took our dog there , he was clean, trimmed, nails etc to our specifications and charged $60. It was not the best, but fine. The second time around we told him we preferred to keep his hair on the longer side. When we picked him up, he looked like a totally different dog, hair way shorter than we talked about and charged us $80. I called the shop to see what happened with the upcharge and cut and he said that my dog was "really matted" and he needed. Which I don't believe and other than excuse for a mistake. The next day I also noticed he didn't even trim my dogs nails. I called to tell him and he said to bring him in, but it is not worth it to deal with attitude and quality at this place. read more

Great local dog groomer. The only groomer where my dog is not caged for 4-5 hours, but groomed perfectly in exactly two. Once I was 45 minutes late for the appointment, but my dog still got a haircut and folks working there were gracious about it even though they run a tight schedule. Been taking our Wheaten Terrier here for five years and have nothing be praises for James and his crew. As for price, they are on par. Convenience, they are perfect. Cash or check basis, no problem. Dog endorsed - We cannot walk the dog by the place because she first jumps on the door to get in, and then will simply sit down not wanting to budge if they are not open. I had a groomer who groomed my dogs for twenty years, but retired about the time we got this terrier. I took the puppy to get her nails done at another local place, but was apprehensive when it took two gals to restrain the pup and one to cut the nails. I knew that wasn't right. I came upon by Doggie Style a couple of months later. James had the young dog snuggled under his arm and trimmed her nails while she was as content and calm as could be. After reading the other reviews, I thought it was important that I share my experience. It was actually very positive. I have a very difficult dog who needs a firm hand and hates baths, so I was nervous to take him to a groomer even though he desperately needed his anal glands and ears addressed. James took care of him, and did a fantastic job. My little guy never even nipped at him, which surprised me. He knows how to handle animals. They also charged me a reasonable price for what they did. He is a short hair, so did not need a clip, just a good scrubbing, so I can't speak to their actual doggie-dos. They also gave me a coupon to hang out at Blue Saucer, and sent someone over to tell me when he was done. Overall, both me a Mac were treated great. read more

I've been taking my two Australian Shepherds to Doggie Style for about a year and I've experienced nothing but friendly customer service and outstanding grooming services. James and Adrienne have always been accommodating when I needed grooming services on short notice. Can anyone say "how in the heck did my dog get into this and I don't want to deal with it"? I can handle doing my dogs' nails but just hate doing it. I often call and then drop in for a quick nail/foot service. Adrienne is always friendly and helpful. I appreciate how they allow the dogs to free range behind the desk and it's clear that both James and Adrienne have a way with the dogs. I highly recommend Doggie Style. We were new to the area and I was looking for a new dog groomer. This was the closest place and thought I would give them a try. I know they have had mixed reviews on Yelp but it seemed like more of a personality clash rather than the quality of service. When I picked up my dog he looked great and they were attentive to what I had requested. I was pleased with the price and service. It was fine, the result was also fine. My dog was a puppy with few groomer experience. He was quite big and going to be bigger the man in the shop explain that he was going to be trouble if he doesnt behave next time he comes back. I personally think that this is good advice and it was a good thing he mention it so I can work and train my dog. My only concern was that it was 60$ for the treatment. We've taken our Chelbi to see James for her entire 8 years. We started as a puppy for nail trims and as she's got older and bigger we decided it's worth the money to save us the hassle of having to give her a bath in our tiny bathroom so we have her bathed and brushed as well. She's developed her own love for James and Adrienne over the years and has gotten to the point where she get so excited to "go see James" that we have to wait to tell her until right before leaving or she drives us crazy with her excitement. She LOVES James! The reviews that state James has an attitude problem or is rude, must be visiting another shop because I have NEVER known him to be rude or condescending and I have been faithfully visiting them for 8 years! James has always been very helpful and courteous offering ideas when we've had questions or concerns. He's VERY patient with the dogs and has great skills in keeping them controlled in a loving way. We never had a problem getting in for appointments and pickups are always a breeze. James just calls and lets us know she's ready. Almost always, when I come to pick Chelbi up and she's out of the kennel visiting with the other dogs and customers. She's always very happy and she looks and smells great! You won't be sorry if you decide to bring your dog to see James or Adrienne. They are wonderful people and they will love and care for your dog as if it were their own. read more

We brought our dog to Doggie Style to get a summer cut. She has long fur and it was just too hot in Seattle with that thick fur coat. A few hours and $75 later, we got a shaved dog--which was fine--but the groomer hadn't even bothered to bathe her, trim her nails, or do any of the other things a dog owner reasonably expects to happen when they have their dog groomed. My husband and I were just incredibly disappointed with the results--the cut was jagged and uneven, giving our dog a spotted look. Honestly, we could have accomplished the same results shaving our dog ourselves. It certainly was NOT worth $75 no matter how you slice it. We definitely will not be going back again. read more

I brought my bichon puppy here for a bath and tidy up and it costs $25. The price is good for me as it includes all the services except a hair cut as this is just the first visit for my little man. I really appreciated their grooming advice to do at home as my puppy really needs to get comfortable with grooming considering his heavy grooming needs. They even gave me a little demonstration to how I can make my puppy feel calm when we groom him at home. The best thing is that my puppy came out looking even better and happier, I was surprised that he wasn't riled up by the whole experience. In summary, I am very satisfied with the service. doggie style was great until nick left. the new employees and owners are cold. i took my 3 lb yorkie there and they charged me $80!! i can justify that if it was a great job, but he had scissor marks all over, hair was uneven and it looked like a job that i could have done myself. they gave me dirty looks when i went to pick him up because my 8 month old puppy was not the best behaved. really, they just made me feel bad about going there. i miss nick. FANTASTIC GROOMER!! James was so kind and comforting through this process. Our dog gets matted very easily; he's a long haired little guy, and he has never liked going to the groomer, until now!! Ferdi is so happy with his new little haircut, not to mention ADORABLE!!!!!! Doggie Style gave my baby the cutest cut he has ever had and he wasn't even slightly traumatized by the experience. In the past our dog behaved very badly and just didn't like the previous mobile groomer that came to our house. I have taken my mixed-breed dog to Doggie Style for grooming for two years and it is always well-done and consistent from visit to visit. I also foster rescue dogs, all of questionable mixed-breed combinations, and sometimes they need grooming to find their perfect forever homes. There is no standard for their grooming styles, yet James and Jen at Doggie Style have always done a beautiful job. I have taken my Scottish Terrier to doggie style for about two years. They are wonderful. My dog was terrified at the groomers and shook looked utterly miserable when I had to leave him there. When I switched to Doggie.Style. everything changed. Wally is no longer afraid and comes home clean, clipped, handsome and happy. James would benefit from understanding that there's a fine line between sassy and rude, a line he crossed several times in my dealings with him. He belittled my dog because she was whining and shaking when I dropped her off and blamed me entirely for "miscommunication" when I found that my simple grooming request hadn't been followed. Also, my dog's ears weren't cleaned, something I have never encountered with other groomers. There is too much focus in these reviews on the owner. You are getting your dog groomed, not having your spleen removed. How important is the owner's "bedside manner"? Personally, I have never had a problem with him. More importantly, the shop provides a clean, safe, calm atmosphere, and the grooming is high quality and reliable. My wheaten terrier comes out looking like a wheaten terrier, which is easier said than done. He is cut correctly, and his hair is soft, fluffly, and clean. He is content, and shows no sign of stress. I recently moved to Seattle and was looking for a locally owned pet grooming store that I could take my pug to get a bath and nails trimmed. I made an appointment with Doggie Style grooming because it was close to my house and looked like a nice place to take my dog for grooming. I was wrong. My appointment was for noon but they didn't even start working on my dog until 2 pm. What is the point of making an appointment at a specific time if they don't even touch your dog for two hours?
