This emergency hospital is closest to home so that's why we've tried it 3 times. That ended today though, we won't be back. I understand that for an emergency animal hospital acute issues are seen first. However, this location feels like the wait is forever when there's less than satisfactory communication from those working, especially from the front desk staff. Most people's pets are like family and when you have to bring them in for any type of emergency it's highly stressful for both owners and pet. I've made 3 visits here and had to wait for 30 minutes or more without being notified why and that is not okay. Feeling as if you've been forgotten while your pet is stressed, hurt or in pain is unacceptable. Sometimes all it takes is a check in to let people know they're still being attended to while waiting, and not forgotten. Today we arrived not knowing for sure if what my dog had vomited was blood or not (because we aren't trained professionals). We called before arriving to let them know we were on our way. There weren't any other pets waiting in the lobby when we arrived. The receptionist kindly checked us in, and it was quick because we had been there before. She brought paperwork over for us to verify info and sign. The first thing that I noticed is the age of my dog was wrong. This wouldn't be such a big deal if the prior two times that we had gone there, I brought it to their attention that the age of my dog was wrong. So that means they still hadn't fixed it since the last time we were there. A dog's age and weight are very important when it comes to administering any type of care. I let the receptionist know and she said she would fix. That was the last communication we had as we waited in the lobby for almost 40 minutes. People came out of the back with their animals. Other people arrived with their pets. Finally, because my dog was becoming very anxious, I decided to look up other emergency hospitals to see where else I could take her. I found one and we let the receptionist know we were leaving. They simply said okay, no questions asked and we walked out the door. I hope no other animal owners experience this type of service, lacking in compassion and care.

There were times in the last two years when I thought I was close to having to make the decision no one wants to make, but Dr. Hoh and her team never gave up on Benny. I greatly appreciate the time Dr. Hoh has put into researching Benny's case (she has probably even done it after hours!) and her detailed follow-up calls with me. I also appreciate how Courtney and Jamie never think it's a big deal that Benny is very vocal with them in the room (haha), and how they don't think I'm too nuts with all of my emails, calls, and questions. They all love on Benny, and it means the absolute world to me. They're angels, and Benny and I are so lucky to have all of you on our side. Grateful just doesn't even seem like enough. Thank you all so much for everything you do for Benny. I cannot recommend Heart of Texas (and getting your dog a specialist) enough. I have no doubt that everyone at Heart of Texas is awesome, but if you need an Internist for your pet, do not look any further. Dr. Hoh and her team are the best. Period. Also, a shout-out to Carissa and the front desk team, who are also so kind and helpful. Benny and I think you're the best too.

The staff were pleasant, but before even examining him, they presented a treatment plan with charges for radiology, CT, and even an MRI. That raised concerns for me, especially since the injury didn't appear orthopedic. I chose to pay the exam fee and follow up with his primary vet the next morning. He was diagnosed with cellulitis and improved quickly with antibiotics. I'd use caution with after-hours clinics--reading reviews ahead of time can really make a difference.

During our most recent visit, my dog was handled by Milani, and unfortunately my small, older Chihuahua came home with a bleeding, shaved paw after her nail trim. This has never happened before, and it was very upsetting to see. What concerned me even more was the lack of acknowledgment in the moment, there was no apology, only an offer of gauze to clean the bleeding. I trust this clinic overall and will continue coming here, but I would strongly prefer that my dog is not scheduled with this technician in the future. My hope is simply for more careful handling, especially with smaller, older dogs who need extra gentleness.

He said it's because they give personalized care and require a $65 checkup! That's not personal care. It's a scam. Euthanasia is a done deed.... I had explained my situation and how originally I found this clinic to be affordable and caring. My 18 yo dog was euthanized here and it was because they actually told prices over the phone and were great. They at that time offered home services for this. That ofcourse was 2023 and things are horrendous now. Now they need to test for everything and it's not cheap. It's manipulation at its finest. I guess the owner didn't like me calling him out! So he deleted all responses and then had my review removed. Funny. I don't quit. You're testing every dog hair is ridiculous! My kids pediatrician isn't as thorough! I've come here for simple issues like dog ear infections and such but they want $400 every time for unnecessary tests and nonsense! So it's obvious you are all about money and not the wellbeing of pets! $100 to drain a hematoma that filled the following day! No ear wrap! No drains! Remember how your office had a poster saying you record all visits? That's Suss! Y'all are creeps! Then another sign said "we know your souls by how you treat pets" I see how manipulative you are! I see how disgusting yall are! Take out a loan!!! Don't let your dog suffer! Eww... yall are hell bound! Now since I see how vindictive you are... I'm posting EVERYTHING all over!!! Get ready! My son took his cat on Saturday morning as she hadn't been feeling well. After Dr Pratt going through a list of the most dramatic things it could be, he asked for a simple blood panel to start. He was informed that the results would be in on Monday. It was 9:30 am but they couldn't be bothered to get a urine sample at that time because they closed at noon! My son called on Monday but the vet was in surgery. He was assured Dr Pratt would call. She finally called at 8 but couldn't seem to get through. She didn't bother to try again. Another day with no results and lost for possible treatment. He called again Tuesday morning and was given the same run around. Dr Pratt was in surgery but would call as soon as she was free. I called that afternoon to let them know how upset we were! Dr Pratt had just walked into a room with a patient! So let me get this straight...we can left waiting for 2 days but she couldnt be bothered to leave a patient waiting for a few minutes to give us the test result! it's now 6 so we've lost yet another day of treatment IF there's something wrong and Dr Pratt still can't be bothered to call, leaving our pet at risk if somethings wrong!! My poor boy. We called around and were luckily referred to Parmer Lane Pet Hospital. They answered the phone and were extremely helpful & had genuine concern about our problem. They had availability & said as soon as we can get there. So we opted for the next appointment spot. When we walked in, we were greeted with smiling faces and quickly checked into the exam room. Our vet tech, Amanda, came in and quickly accessed Hobbes, asked us some questions to get his baseline down. She also offered him some treats, which he loved! He's pretty picky normally, so of course I had to find out what kind they were so we can buy them for him. (Pic attached) She also let him explore and he was very happy about that as well. Then Amanda walked out and back in with Dr Thevis. Dr Thevis said hi to Hobbes. Gave him some pets and told him how cute he was while checking him for any other injuries since we explained we thought Hobbes got a scratch from his sister when they were playing. Thankfully no other injuries. Dr. Thevis and Amanda kept Hobbes very calm and put a yellow dye in his eye so that we could see if he had any scratches. He blinked a few times, but didn't seem to care because it happened so quickly. Dr Thevis showed us with a black light how a scratch/cut/inflammation would light up in his eye. Unfortunately he has a corneal ulcer. We were given eye drops, a cone, and then asked to schedule a recheck so we can make sure he gets better. The next day, his eye had some gunk in it, and I was so concerned! I called Parmer Lane and Dr. Thevis was not in, however the receptionist (sorry I forgot her name) answered the phone and was so sweet and caring and told me that they would have a vet tech answer my questions and give me a call back as soon as possible. She also said if I had not heard back by lunchtime to give them a call again. The number they have on file is my husband's and he did not answer his phone, but they left us a detailed message. The following day, they called us again to make sure that we had gotten the voicemail and were not worried about his eye. I thought it was so thoughtful to call back just to make sure that we had gotten their previous message. I called in to reschedule the recheck appointment and it was a breeze! Everyone who works here seems to genuinely want to help you! The level of care, concern, and customer service from the team at Parmer Lane Pet Hospital is 10/10. You guys are doing everything right. Thank you so much for making finding a new vet so easy. Definitely referring my friends.

I see why she came here, as every vet and tech we interacted with was a world more experienced and compassionate than we've seen anywhere else. Other vets we had seen after she left wouldn't even give us guidance or concern for her condition, so we had tracked down our doc and truly, they saved her life, it bought us at least another happy year or so with our gal. In her many years of life, we'd moved lots and have seen a full spectrum of vets and emergency vet hospitals and just wow. It feels good to be able to trust the staff this well. Our gal had advanced kidney disease, but they were able to stabilize her and get us on a quality of life maintaining spot with fluid therapy. We had a vacation, and a tech was able to make home visits to help out while we were gone to keep our girl in good shape. It's been around a year since she passed, and we recently brought a new pup into our lives! Made our first visits this month for her shots, and it is heart warming to see all the staff again. It's a bit of a drive for us, but I really wouldn't go elsewhere.
